- A common man’s visit to a holy place and an exalted saintly person’s visit there are different. The common man leaves his sins in the holy place, and a saintly person or devotee cleanses these sins simply by his presence
- A devotee acts completely under the direction of the Supreme Lord. Thus his actions may not appear to be of a very high quality to the common man, but the devotee has no responsibility
- A devotee acts in this consciousness. In other words, when material desires in connection with the body are finished, one is actually liberated
- A devotee advances further and further toward complete understanding of the Lord as he awakens in realization of the Lord's holy name, transcendental form and qualities, His paraphernalia, and everything pertaining to Him

- A devotee automatically attains the qualifications of an expert brahmana authorized to perform sacrifices, even though the devotee may not have taken his birth in a brahmana family. Such is the omnipotence of the Lord
- A devotee can see that the Lord is situated in everyone's heart, as stated in the Bhagavad-gita (isvarah sarva-bhutanam hrd-dese 'rjuna tisthati (BG 18.61))
- A devotee completely surrenders unto the Supreme, who reveals Himself by His causeless mercy. As stated in Bhagavad-gita, dadami buddhi-yogam tam. The Lord says, "I give him intelligence." What is that intelligence? Yena mam upayanti te
- A devotee constantly engaged in Deity worship according to the rules and regulations laid down in the sastras and given by the spiritual master realizes gradually that he is in direct contact with the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- A devotee does not aspire for mukti, even if it is offered by the Supreme Lord Himself
- A devotee does not care about his own happiness and distress; he is simply interested in seeing that Krsna is happy, and for that purpose he engages in various activities
- A devotee does not eat extravagantly; he simply eats what he offers to the Supreme Lord, Krsna. He is interested in krsna-prasadam (food offered to the Lord) and not in satisfying his tongue. Therefore he does not desire anything extraordinary to eat
- A devotee does not give any importance to the ultimate goal of the karmis and jnanis
- A devotee does not have to exhibit such magical wonders (by manufacturing gold). Without practicing the mystic yogic process, he achieves even greater opulence all over the world
- A devotee does not have to try separately for renunciation or knowledge
- A devotee does not have to try separately to attain liberation
- A devotee does not need to make separate investigations to understand the nature of Brahman. Bhagavad-gita also confirms this. Brahma-bhuyaya kalpate: (BG 14.26) a devotee at once becomes a self-realized soul in the Absolute Truth
- A devotee does not want mystic powers or liberation or material prosperity. He is satisfied in any condition of life, as long as he is constantly engaged in the service of the Lord

- A devotee is one who has no other motive for reciting Bhagavad-gita & Srimad-Bhagavatam than to serve the Lord. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu has therefore advised us to hear the glories of the Lord from a realized person - bhagavata paro diya bhagavata sthane

- Anyone who will take shelter in Me, whether a woman, or a merchant, or one born in a low family, can yet approach the supreme destination. How much greater then are the brahmanas, the righteous, the devotees, and saintly kings! BG 1972 Introduction
- Apart from the class of impersonalists or nondevotees, there are also classes who pose themselves as devotees of the Lord but at heart maintain the idea of salvation by becoming one with the impersonal Brahman
- Appreciating Your opulence, devotees generally declare that You are always subjugated by their feelings
- Arani wood is used to ignite a sacrificial fire without matches or any other flame. Just as fire appears from arani wood, the Supreme Lord appears when there is friction between devotees and nondevotees
- Aryan means "advanced." Formerly, those who claimed to be Aryans had to be devotees of the Lord. For instance, in Bhagavad-gita (BG 2.2) Krsna chastised Arjuna by saying that he was speaking like a non-Aryan
- As a creeper takes shelter of another, stronger tree, similarly the creeper of devotional service, nourished by the devotee, takes shelter of the lotus feet of the Lord and thus becomes fixed
- As a devotee of the Lord, he (Maharaja Pariksit) could understand that the cursing of the brahmana boy, although unwise, was a blessing upon him, being the cause of detachment from worldly affairs, both political and social
- As a devotee, Vidura showed by example that anywhere that Krsna is not honored is a place unfit for human habitation
- As a materialist engages in constructing a big skyscraper, a devotee engages in constructing a big temple for Visnu
- As a special favor, God may remove all material paraphernalia. By such action, the bewildered devotee is forsaken by all friends and relatives, and so he comes to his senses again by the mercy of the Lord and is set right to execute his devotional service
- As all our Godbrothers are doing. They have got a little temple, and a few devotees go and beg rice and cook it, and eat and sleep, that's all. No fighting spirit
- As already discussed, there are eight kinds of representations of the original form of the Lord. These representations can be produced by the use of clay, stone, wood, paint, sand, etc., depending upon the resources of the devotees
- As confirmed in BG 4.8, the Lord's pastimes consist of paritranaya sadhunam vinasaya ca duskrtam - saving the devotees and killing the demons. To demonstrate these activities, the Lord called for devotees from different parts of the universe
- As devotees of the Lord, the bull, or the personality of religion, and the cow, the personality of the earth, knew well that without the sanction of the Lord no one could inflict trouble upon them
- As devotees propagate the Hare Krsna maha-mantra, the general population of the entire world gets the opportunity to understand the glories of the holy name
- As far as I am concerned, I am always your devotee as well as a devotee of the Lord, who is known as Adhoksaja. Please therefore narrate all the stories of King Prthu, who, in the form of the son of King Vena, milked the cow-shaped earth
- As far as Mother Yasoda's anxieties are concerned, when Krsna was out of the house in the pasturing ground, a devotee once told her, "Yasoda, I think your movements have been slackened, and I see that you are full of anxieties
- As far as others are concerned, God gives sanction to the doer only at the risk of the doer. But in the case of a devotee, the Lord directs him in such a way that he never acts wrongly
- As far as the devotee is concerned, he is at once transferred to the spiritual world in the association of the Lord. That is the Lord's special mercy
- As far as the devotee is concerned, it is clearly stated here (in BG 12.6-7) that the Lord Himself takes him. He does not need to wait to become very experienced in order to transfer himself to the spiritual sky. BG 1972 purports
- As far as the heavenly planets are concerned, to a devotee they are like a phantasmagoria or will-o'-the-wisp, and as far as yogic perfection is concerned, a devotee does not care a fig for such perfection
- As far as those relating to Krsna in paternal love, they include devotees like Yasoda and Maharaja Nanda - that is, Krsna's mother, father, uncle and similar relatives
- As for elevation to higher planets, a devotee considers this to be simply hallucinatory. A devotee's attention is concentrated only upon the eternal loving service of the Lord, and therefore the power of death has no influence over him
- As for protecting the body or abiding by the rules of society and state, certainly there are different activities, even for the devotees, in connection with the conditional life, and such activities are called conditional. BG 1972 purports
- As he (devotee) hears more about Krsna from the Bhagavatam and from the devotees, he becomes fixed in the devotional service of the Lord. BG 1972 purports
- As indicated by the words prag distam, the Lord knew everything. Before anything happened, He had already arranged for His cakra to protect Maharaja Ambarisa. This protection is offered to a devotee even from the very beginning of his devotional service
- As long as such a purified stage is not attained, devotees in transcendental service to the Lord are tainted with fruitive activities, the search for mundane knowledge, etc. BG 1972 purports
- As mentioned in the Bhagavad-gita (9.30-31), a devotee may appear to be su-duracara, not well behaved, in the beginning, but he should be accepted as pure because he is on the right path. This is due to the prophylactic nature of the Lord's association
- As soon as devotees of the Lord merge in lamentation, they immediately experience the Lord's transcendental activities and merge in transcendental bliss. Actually such devotees are always in transcendental bliss
- As soon as he (Narada Muni) strokes the strings (of his vina), all the devotees begin responding, making a very beautiful vibration
- As soon as one becomes a devotee of the Lord he finds so many obstacles. But those obstacles will not hinder one or be impediments on the path
- As stated in Brahma-samhita: karmani nirdahati kintu ca bhakti-bhajam (BS 5.54). It is proved here (in SB 5.8.27) that due to the grace of the Supreme Lord, a devotee is never vanquished
- As stated in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 10.10), dadami buddhi-yogam tam yena mam upayanti te. Since a devotee writes in service to the Lord, the Lord from within gives him so much intelligence that he sits down near the Lord and goes on writing books
- As the Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.8) confirms that the Supreme Personality of Godhead and His devotees, saving the righteous and chastising the miscreants (paritranaya sadhunam vinasaya ca duskrtam), always curb these nonsensical atheists
- As the birds fly in the sky as far as their capacity allows, so do the learned devotees describe the Lord as far as their realization allows
- As the first installment of His special favor, the Lord takes away all the possessions of His devotee. A devotee, however, is never disturbed by such a loss. He continues his service & the Lord amply rewards him, beyond the expectations of any common man
- As the Lord exists by His own independent prowess, by the grace of the Lord the devotees also exist for His service
- Asat is one who is too materially attached, who is not a devotee of the Lord and who is too attached to women or enjoyable material things. Such a person, according to Vaiṣṇava philosophy, is a persona non grata
- Aside from devotees, there are many others, nondevotees, known as karmis, jnanis or yogis, philanthropists, altruists, politicians, impersonalists and voidists
- Asuras are gradually rectified to God consciousness by the mercy of the Lord's liberated servitors in different countries according to the supreme will. Such devotees of God are very confidential associates of the Lord
- At length, Narada inquired of the hunter-devotee: Are you getting your foodstuff regularly?
- At such a time (that even after enjoying the company of the beloved (Lord), the devotee feels that his enjoyment is insufficient), the lover sees the beloved in different ways. Such a development of ecstasy is called anuraga
- At such a time (when a devotee is perplexed) the Supersoul immediately appears, provided the devotee is purified in heart by following the directions of the spiritual master
- At the indication of her mother-in-law, Draupadi brought clothing, ornaments and garlands, and with this paraphernalia they received the queens Rukmini, Satyabhama, Bhadra, Jambavati, Kalindi, Mitravinda, Laksmana and the devoted Satya
- At the residence of Hiranya and Govardhana, discourses took place by which Haridasa Thakura was glorified. O devotees, please listen to that wonderful story
- At this stage (devotion becomes fixed upon the Lord) the devotee acquires the brahminical qualifications, and the effects of the lower modes of nature (passion and ignorance) completely vanish
- At Visnu-kanci is Lord Varadaraja, and Hari is situated at Mayapur, Lord Caitanya's birth site. Thus in different places throughout the universe there are various Deities in temples bestowing Their causeless mercy upon the devotees
- At Vrndavana in India there are temples still, they are spending thousands and thousands of rupees for palatable foodstuff, offering to the Deity. And those foodstuff are distributed to the, I mean to say, the devotees
- Attachment to a devotee is attachment to the service of the Lord because if one associates with a sadhu the result will be that the sadhu will teach him how to become a devotee, a worshiper & a sincere servitor of the Lord. These are the gifts of a sadhu
B

- Bali Maharaja said to God: Because You were working on behalf of Your devotees, You do not regard this as cheating. Never mind. I cannot be considered a devotee
- Bali Maharaja, he secured the whole three worlds. He became the master of the three worlds, means the upper planetary system, down planetary system, middle planet. So, but he was a devotee also. Therefore Krsna came to him as Vamana
- Bali Maharaja, he was a devotee. He said, "My Lord, don't be worried. Still there is. It is my head. Place Your other feet on my head." So Vamanadeva said, Now you have purchased Me by your charity. I shall remain your doorkeeper

- Because of his regular discharge of devotional service, a devotee attains the transcendental stage of life
- Because of the fragrance of His lotus feet, carried by the air and mixed with the aroma of tulasi, their minds changed; instead of becoming one with the Supreme Lord, they thought it wise to be devotees
- Because of this lack of Krsna consciousness in human society, people are suffering terribly, being merged in an ocean of nescience and sense gratification. A devotee onlooker is very much aggrieved to see such a situation in the world
- Because people are not devotees of God, therefore despite all education, all advancement of scientific knowledge, still they are dealing like cats and dogs
- Because people are not devotees of God, therefore despite all education, all advancement of scientific knowledge, still they are dealing like cats and dogs. They are not peaceful. The peace cannot be attained without Krsna consciousness
- Because Sankarsana appears in order to increase love of Krsna, He is known as Baladeva. One may take auspicious strength from Him to become a devotee of the Lord, and therefore He is also known as Balabhadra
- Because the doormen were also devotees of the Lord, they were able to understand their mistake and were terrified when the four Kumaras were ready to curse them
- Because the inquiries (from Vidura to Maitreya) concerned the Lord, they were perfectly befitting a devotee. A devotee has no taste for hearing anything mundane. There are many topics of mundane warfare, but a devotee is not inclined to hear them
- Because the Supreme Lord is present a pure devotee accepts each body as the temple of the Lord, and since the devotee offers respect to such temples in full knowledge, he gives respect to every living entity in relationship with the Lord
- Because the temple of Lord Jagannatha is situated at Jagannatha Puri, many devotees from all parts of the world came to perform sankirtana in glorification of the Lord
- Because they (persons engaged in devotional service) are nirmatsara, not jealous of anyone, they want to make others devotees, even their enemies. In this regard, Srila Madhvacarya remarks, kanksate moksa-gam api sukham nakanksato yatha
- Because they are devotees of Vasudeva, they are no longer attached to these material things. This is the result of bhakti-yoga, which enables one to be detached from material enjoyment
- Because they are servants of the Supreme Lord, devotees receive knowledge directly from the Supreme Personality of Godhead as He speaks it in the Bhagavad-gita, or sometimes as He imparts it from within as the caittya-guru

- Behold the great fortune of the devotee Kholaveca. Lord Brahma and Siva shed tears upon seeing his greatness. One cannot attain Lord Krsna by any amount of wealth, followers, or learning. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is controlled only by pure devotion
- Being afraid of his reputation (pratistha), Madhavendra Puri fled from Remuna. But the reputation brought by love of Godhead is so sublime that it goes along with the devotee, as if following him

- Bhagavad-gita says that a little advancement in bhakti-rasa can save the devotee from the greatest danger - that of missing the opportunity for human life

- Bhagavata means the Supreme Lord, and bhagavata means about Him, or about His devotees
- Bhaktivinoda Thakura says that brahma-janme nahi mora asa: "I don't care for to take birth as Brahma." Kita-janma hau jatha tuwa das (Saranagati): "Better let me become an insect where Your devotee is there." So our purpose is different
- Bharata Maharaja, at the time of death, would be forced to accept the body of a deer due to his attraction for the deer. In this regard, a question may be raised. How can a devotee be affected by his past misconduct and vicious activities
- Bhattacarya's brother-in-law, Gopinatha Acarya, and the devotees of the Lord were surprised to see the Bhattacarya transformed into a great devotee
- Bhukti, material enjoyment, and mukti, liberation, are only by-products of devotional service. A devotee need not work separately to attain mukti

- Blind men may lead many other blind followers without true knowledge of material conditions, but they are not accepted by devotees like Prahlada Maharaja

- By associating with such an unholy person (who is a playmate for women) one becomes bereft of all good qualities, such as fame, forgiveness, control of the mind and senses and all the opulences that are automatically obtained by a devotee
- By culturing devotional service, the devotee gradually comes to understand his actual relationship with the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This understanding of one's pure spiritual position is called svarupopalabdhi
- By entering the heart of Rupa Gosvami, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu empowered him to ascertain properly the conclusions of all truths. He made him an experienced devotee whose decisions correctly agreed with the verdicts of the disciplic succession
- By hearing and chanting of the glories of God or the Lord's devotee one can become firmly fixed in the service of the lotus feet of the Lord. This position can also be achieved very easily by narrating the history of the life of Prthu regularly every day

- Certainly Mathura will deliver the desires of the devotees, who simply aspire to be engaged in the devotional service of the Lord
- Chanting the Hare Krsna mantra purifies one, and this chanting is recommended by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Ceto-darpana-marjanam: by chanting the names of Krsna, the mirror of the heart is cleansed, and the devotee loses interest in everything external
- Citraketu said: O unconquerable Lord, although You cannot be conquered by anyone, You are certainly conquered by devotees who have control of the mind and senses

- Devotee-disciple
- Devotees (who are engaged in devotional service according to the ritualistic principles) are satisfied only in rendering transcendental loving service to the Lord

- Devotees are always eager to see one of the Lord's innumerable forms. It is said that just as no one can count how many waves there are in the sea, no one can count the forms of the Lord

- Devotees engage in the temple in the service of the Lord as arca-vigraha, a form made of material objects such as stone, metal, wood, jewels or paint. All of these are called sthula, or physical representations
- Devotees engaged in devotional service are not very much attached to their bodies, unlike the yogis, who are too attached to the body and who think that by performing bodily gymnastic exercises they will advance in spiritual consciousness
- Devotees gradually develop a spontaneous love for the Deity, and by hearing of the Lord's exchange of loving affairs with the gopis, they gradually become attracted to these pastimes
- Devotees in the third stage, the stage of friendship, are Sridama in Vrndavana and Bhima and Arjuna in Dvaraka and on the Battlefield of Kuruksetra. There are many others also
- Devotees in this stage consider the Lord to be present at the place of worship and nowhere else. They cannot ascertain who is in what position in devotional service, nor can they tell who has realized the Supreme Lord
- Devotees like Arjuna are constant companions of the Lord, and whenever the Lord incarnates, the associate devotees also incarnate in order to serve the Lord in different capacities. Arjuna is one of these devotees. BG 1972 purports
- Devotees like Sri Damodara, Sri Gadadhara & Sri Ramananda are different energies. This confirms the Vedic sutra parasya saktir vividhaiva sruyate (Cc. Madhya 13.65). All these bhakta subjects taken together constitute Sri Caitanya, who is Krsna Himself
- Devotees like the great sage Narada, who travel all over to preach, are called gosthanandi
- Devotees make no distinction between one nation and another or one community and another

- Devotees used to go to forests, high hills or mountains on pilgrimages, but such severe austerities are not possible in these days. One should instead eat only prasada and no more than required
- Devotees, being completely detached from material enjoyment, never give up Krsna consciousness for Vedic ritualistic ceremonies

- Different living entities appear in different forms of dress, but according to the instruction of the Bhagavad-gita, a learned person sees all living entities equally. Such treatment by the devotee is very much appreciated by the Supreme Lord
- Different symptoms of ecstatic trance are exhibited automatically by such devotees
- Driven by material lust, the materialists worship demigods, but a devotee never does so, for he is never driven by material lust. That is the difference between a devotee's respect for Lord Siva and an asura's respect for him
- Due to the growth of the asuras, the mass of people who are generally devoted to the Lord by nature and the pure devotees of the Lord, including the demigods in higher planets, pray to the Lord for relief
- During this age of Kali, people are more inclined to irreligious systems. Consequently these people will naturally deride Vedic authority, the followers of Vedic authority, the brahmanas, the Supreme Personality of Godhead and the devotees
- Duryodhana was as strong as the King of heaven, still the sons of Prtha, the Pandavas, were able to snatch away their kingdom from him. Both Garuda & the Parthas are pet devotees of the Lord, and thus it was possible for them to face such strong enemies
E
- Easily making his way through these impediments, a devotee comes directly in contact with the Supreme Personality of Godhead. After all, the material impediments described in these verses (SB 6.4.27-28) are but various energies of the Lord

- Even the demigods, the devotees, who are transcendentally situated or situated on the platform of goodness, are not fully aware of the qualities and position of the Lord
- Even though a person is a very learned scholar of the Sanskrit Vedic literatures, he is not accepted as My devotee unless he is pure in DS
- Even though a person is rejected by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the devotees of the Lord do not reject him; therefore the Lord’s devotees are more merciful than the Lord Himself
- Even though he (devotee of the Lord) falls down, he is never to be considered the same as a fallen karmi. A karmi suffers the result of his own fruitive reactions, whereas a devotee is reformed by chastisement directed by the Lord Himself
- Even though many devotees always think of Krsna, none can surpass the gopis, among whom Radharani is the leader in thinking of Krsna. Radharani’s Krsna consciousness surpasses that of all other devotees

- Every place within a radius of one hundred miles from where a devotee is born becomes sanctified
- Everyone in India is a devotee; they have simply been misled by politicians and so many things. By Lord Chaitanya's mercy we are again reviving their original Krishna Consciousness, just as we are doing in all our centers all over the world

- For a devotee the identifier is equally a sinner, like the mischief-monger. By God's grace, the devotee tolerates all reverses

- He (a devotee of God) regards any reverses in life as blessings of the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- He (a devotee) keeps everything. But he gives preference to Krsna. Suppose I like this thing but Krsna says, "No, you cannot use it." Then I shall not use it. It is for Krsna's sake. Krsna says positively, - I like these things

- He (God) exhibits His transcendental forms, names and activities. That is His special mercy toward His devotees

- He directly blasphemed Your Lordship, the spiritual master of all living beings, and committed heavily sinful activities directed against me, Your devotee. I wish that he be excused for these sinful activities

- In this way astral influences are also material and therefore they do not affect the devotee who has taken protection of Krsna's internal energy, by surrendering his life and soul in the service of the Lord
- In transcendental state, a devotee attains all the benefits of karma, jnana and yoga. Although he never engages in fruitive activities or empiric speculation to attain mystic powers, automatically mystic powers appear in his service
- In your country young generation mostly they are confused, hopeless. We see every day-morose, black-faced. Why? Because they're missing the point. There is no aim of life. But these devotees, Krsnized, they look so beautiful. Why? Because Krsna is there
- Indeed, whether the devotees come from a family of previous acaryas or from an ordinary family, they should be treated equally
- Instead of being agitated by such reverses, he (a devotee of God) continues his activities of devotional service, and Krsna takes care of him and enables him to be promoted to the spiritual world, back to Godhead
- Instead of worshiping the Lord, the living entity, as a parent of the Supreme, becomes an object of worship for the Supreme. At this stage the Lord depends on the mercy of His pure devotee and puts Himself under the control of the devotee to be raised
- It (Krsna consciousness) is the stage beyond self-realization at which the devotee becomes one with Krsna in the sense that Krsna becomes everything for the devotee, and the devotee becomes full in loving Krsna. BG 1972 purports
- It is assured in Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.9). Tyaktva deham punar janma naiti mam eti so'rjuna: a devotee, after giving up his body, does not accept a material body, but returns home, back to Godhead
- It is certain that a devotee who helps in this endeavor to satisfy the SPG becomes indirectly a controller of the Supreme Lord. Although the Supreme Lord is full in six opulences, He does not feel transcendental bliss without His devotees
- It is clearly stated in the Bhagavad-gita that those who are worshipers of the demigods will ultimately reach only the planets of those demigods, while those who are devotees of the Lord Himself will be promoted to the Lord's abode, the kingdom of God
- It is clearly stated that the worshipers of demigods go to different planets in the material world, but the devotee of the Supreme Lord goes directly to the supreme planet of the Personality of Godhead. BG 1972 purports
- It is clearly understood from the life story of the great sage Narada, which is related in Srimad-Bhagavatam. By serving Vaisnavas in his previous life, Narada was favored by the devotees of the Lord and became a great sage
- It is confirmed in SB: O great sage, out of many millions of liberated persons and persons who have achieved success in mystic yoga, one who is completely devoted to the SP of Godhead and who is filled with peace is very hard to find - SB 6.14.5
- It is confirmed in the Narada-pancaratra that when the senses are purified they can then be engaged in the devotional service of the Lord. One who is attached to material contamination cannot be a devotee
- It is necessary that through the mind, the center of sensual activities, such transcendental realization be set into motion. The devotees directly fix their minds on the Person of the Absolute Truth
- It is not a fact that one has to offer his material possessions to the Supreme Personality of Godhead and be liberated before he can engage in devotional service. A devotee automatically attains liberation without separate endeavors
- It is not contradictory for a devotee to call the Supreme Lord by any one of the various names of His plenary expansions, because the original Personality of Godhead includes all such categories
- It is not that other devotees who are less complete in knowledge are not dear to the Lord. The Lord says that all are magnanimous because anyone who comes to the Lord for any purpose is called a mahatma or great soul. BG 1972 purports
- It is out of causeless mercy of Krsna even the demons are so proud, but they have taken their mercy from Krsna to go to hell. And the devotees take the mercy of Krsna to render Him loving service. That is the difference between the demons & the devotees
- It is recommended in the Second Canto of Srimad-Bhagavatam that whether one is a devotee or fruitive actor or liberationist, if he is intelligent enough he should engage himself with all seriousness in the process of devotional service
- It is said in the Hari-bhakti-sudhodaya (13.2): O devotee of the Lord, to glorify your qualities is the perfection of the tongue, for it is very rare to find a pure devotee like you
- It is said in the Hari-bhakti-sudhodaya (13.2): O devotee of the Lord, to see you is the perfection of the eyes, to touch your body is the perfection of bodily activities
- It is said that Lord Krsna, in relation with His devotees, accepts all kinds of devotional service according to the aptitude of the devotee. In this way, Krsna reciprocates to a devotee's needs
- It is said, karmani nirdahati kintu ca bhakti-bhajam: the Lord minimizes or nullifies the reactionary influence of the devotee's past deeds - BS 5.54
- It is stated in the Srimad-Bhagavatam that if one actually wants to be liberated he must render service to the devotees; but one who associates with materialistic people is on the path leading to the darkest region of existence. BG 1972 purports
- It is to be understood that by such chanting (the Holy Name of God) a devotee definitely proves that he underwent all kinds of austerities in his previous life
- It is with this conviction that we declare in our Back to Godhead magazine that devotees like the gosvamis living in Vrndavana who purposely commit some sinful activity are born in the bodies of dogs, monkeys and tortoises in that holy land
- It was possible for Caitanya Mahaprabhu and a few devotees, His immediate disciples like the Six Gosvamis, who were following in His footsteps. They worshiped Krsna in separation and sought Krsna everywhere
J
- Jesus Christ and Muhammad, two powerful devotees of the Lord, have done tremendous service on behalf of the Lord on the surface of the globe
- Jnana-vijnana-samyutah: his spiritual knowledge and the practical application of that knowledge in life were not lost. Therefore it is said that even if a devotee falls down for some reason, he is still not lost
- Just as a king gives protection to his citizens, these devotees, following the principles of devotional service, will give protection to all the people of the world
- Just as a lion is very ferocious to other animals but very kind and submissive to his cubs, so Lord Nrsimha appeared ferocious to Hiranyakasipu and very kind to His devotee Prahlada
- Just as a small child on the lap of his father or mother is fully protected, a devotee, in all conditions, is protected by the Supreme Lord
K

- Kindly remain there and teach Upanandadas by nice example and work together with the devotees there. If we work hard for Krsna without personal consideration or ambition, then we are assured of success
- Krishna science can be understood through the process of sincere service, and so far any doubt which may sometimes arise in our mind there are the devotees, the Scriptures and the Spiritual Master
- Krsna accepts anything from a devotee. "Whatever is offered to Me by My devotee," He accepts. The same thing for a devotee. Don't you see the point
- Krsna can immediately make His devotee immune from all the reactions caused by sinful life if the devotee simply surrenders unto Him
- Krsna cleanses desire for material enjoyment from the heart of the devotee who relishes His messages, which are in themselves virtuous when properly heard and chanted
- Krsna consciousness movement now has centers in Vrndavana and Navadvipa so that those who want to live a retired life, whether they be devotees or not, can go there and with determination give up the bodily concept of life
- Krsna continued, "People worship the demigods when in need of some sense gratification, the demigods offer benedictions to their devotees after being worshiped. A devotee like you, Akrura, is always ready to offer people the greatest benediction"
- Krsna does not say, "Give Me meat. Give Me eggs. Give Me fish." No. He says, patram puspam phalam toyam yo me bhaktya prayacchati. So if you are devotee, you cannot take anything which is not offered to Krsna. I should offer to Krsna what He wants
- Krsna exhibits His powers as isvara, or the supreme controller, when He assures His devotee in Bhagavad-gita (BG 18.66): "Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reaction. Do not fear."
- Krsna is dear only to the devotees, and He can only be achieved by devotional service. If a lowly born person is a devotee, he automatically becomes free from all contamination
- Krsna is present before you in arca-murti, arcavatara, nicely dressed by the devotees. It is the duty of the devotee to decorate the sri-vigraha, the transcendental form of Krsna very nicely so that thousands of people may come in the temple & see Krsna
- Krsna is the last word in Brahman realization, and the devotees alone can realize Him as He is. BG 1972 purports
- Krsna said, "I think some of them must be great sages, devotees of Your Lordship, and they are disguising themselves in the form of drones because they are unable to give up Your company even for a moment"
- Krsna's enemies think, "Here is Krsna, my enemy. I have to kill Him." They think of Krsna in His actual form, and thus they attain salvation. Devotees, therefore, who constantly think of Krsna's form, are certainly liberated
- Krsna, God, cannot be conquered by anyone but His devotee. Such a devotee kindly married the daughter of King Vidarbha
- Krsnadasa Kaviraja was requested to write the CC by the devotees of Vrndavana. Although he began this work at a very old age, by the grace of Caitanya he finished it. Today it remains the most authoritative book on Caitanya's philosophy & life - CC Intro

- One must become a devotee of the Lord at least at the last stage of one's life. A sincere soul of the Lord like Maharaja Yudhisthira must abide by this instruction of the Lord for his own interest
- One must learn to accept his constitutional position of Krishna's tiny servant. Then Krishna is pleased to reveal Himself to such devotee, and the devotee becomes more and more perfect in rendering transcendental service to the Lord

- One should see how they (devotees from all parts of the world) are advanced in KC and how they are conducting Deity worship, sankirtana and Ratha-yatra. Considering all these points, the envious persons must refrain from their malicious atrocities
- One should therefore always be fixed in Krsna consciousness, busy in the transcendental loving service of the Lord. It is guaranteed that such a devotee will never be affected by the actions and reactions of the three modes of material nature

- One who explains the supreme secret to the devotees is the most dear to Krsna and never will there be one more dear. So always keep them enthused in this book distribution. This pleases me very much

- Since the devotee considers the word "form" (akara) the common factor for both, he offers his respectful obeisances to the form, although others may go on arguing about whether the Absolute has a form or not
- Since the devotees in the material world know almost nothing about these (free loving affairs) affairs, the Lord desires to show these affairs to them

- This is the first duty of the spiritual master, to engage the devotees in arcana-marga. Sri-vigraharadhana-nitya. Cleansing the temple, dressing the Deity, decorating with flowers, so that devotees, as soon as see smiling Krsna, they become pleased
- This is the system of receiving instructions from the Supersoul. Externally He is not to be seen, but internally He speaks to the devotee. That is confirmed in Bhagavad-gita
- This Madhava Puri (mentioned in CC Madhya 1.96) is Madhavendra Puri. Another Madhava Puri is Madhavacarya, who was the spiritual master of a devotee in the line of Gadadhara Pandita and who wrote a book known as Sri Mangala-bhasya
