- A living entity too much absorbed in material activity becomes very much attracted to the material body

- Krsna's name, attributes and form are Absolute Truth, existing before the creation. Therefore, how can those who are created - that is, those entrapped in bodies created of material elements - understand Krsna perfectly? This is not possible

- Material bodies cannot perform the wonderful acts described in previous verses (of BG 9.11). His (God's) body is eternal, blissful and full of knowledge. BG 1972 purports
- Material energy has the power to cover knowledge, but this covering cannot be applied to the Supreme Personality of Godhead. It is applicable only to the prajah, or those who are born with material bodies, the conditioned souls
- My dear boys, of all the living entities who have accepted material bodies in this world, one who has been awarded this human form should not work hard day and night simply for sense gratification, which is available even for dogs and hogs that eat stool

- Narada spoke as follows: "In the bodily concept of existence, everyone is driven by material desires, and thus everyone develops new material bodies one after another in the cycle of birth and death"
- No one can surpass the higher planets in a material body, but when one gets a spiritual body he can travel not only to the higher planetary system of this material world, but even to the still higher planetary system known as Vaikunthaloka

- Since the other living entities have material bodies, the matter merges into matter, and the subtle form of the spirit soul remains within the body of God. The Lord does not sleep, but the ordinary living entities remain asleep until the next creation
- Since the spiritual energy, the living being, who is part and parcel of the Supreme Lord, desires to enjoy this material world, the Lord gives him a chance to accept different types of material bodies and enjoy or suffer in different material conditions
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu explains that Krsna - the Supreme Personality of Godhead, or the Absolute Truth - has a spiritual body that is distinct from material bodies, and thus His name, abode, entourage and qualities are all spiritual
- Such a person (who is in a bodily concept of life) does whatever he likes, whatever he imagines, and therefore, being subject to the laws of nature, he suffers miserably again and again in different material bodies
- Sukadeva Gosvami replied (to Pariksit Maharaja) that everyone’s atma, or soul, is very, very dear, especially to all living entities who have accepted material bodies. But that atma, the spirit soul, is part and parcel of Krsna
- Suppose a person enters into a room; that does not mean that the room has become that person. Similarly, that the Supreme Lord has entered into each of the 8,400,000 types of material bodies does not mean that each of these bodies has become Supreme Lord

- The activities of those who are conditioned by material nature are taken into account, and in their next life, according to these activities, they are offered different types of material bodies
- The disciple must have the following qualifications. He must give up interest in the material bodily conception. He must give up material lust, anger, greed, illusion, madness and envy
- The father and mother of the material body are so only in one birth, and in the next birth the father and mother may be a different couple
- The function of the human body is to attain freedom from material bondage, but as long as one is fully absorbed in material activities, his mind will be overwhelmed in the whirlpool of matter, and thus he will continue to be encaged in material bodies
- The gopis who concentrated their minds on Krsna in the spirit of paramour love became fully purified of all the fruitive reactions of material nature, & some of them immediately gave up their material bodies developed under the 3 modes of material nature
- The gross material elements (earth, water, fire, air and ether) combine with the subtle material elements (mind, intelligence and false ego) to construct the bodies of this material world, and yet they are beyond these bodies as well
- The highest peak of the ignorance of the living entities who are conditioned by material bodies is that they are unaware of the supreme cause of the cosmic manifestation
- The hospital-making business is being conducted by the government; it is the duty of a sannyasa to make hospitals whereby people can actually get rid of their material bodies, not patch them up
- The indestructible, transcendental living entity is called Brahman, and his eternal nature is called adhyatma, the self. Action pertaining to the development of the material bodies of the living entities is called karma, or fruitive activities
- The living entities are conditioned in contact with material bodies because of the actions of the Supreme Lord's external energy
- The living entities change their material bodies in different shapes and forms under the influence of the different modes of nature, but in the transcendental state the devotee is guna-tita, or above the material modes of goodness, passion and ignorance
- The living entities, who are struggling in this world with the mind and five senses, have their material bodies which are changing as long as the living entities are conditioned. BG 1972 purports
- The living entity changes his body as soon as the higher authorities decide on his next body. As long as a living entity is conditioned within this material world, he must take material bodies one after another
- The living entity is contaminated and suffering because he has a material body, but that does not mean that because the Lord is also with him, He also has a material body
- The living entity should know that his only real concern is how to get free from material contact, for by absorbing his mind in material activities he takes material bodies again and again
- The living entity, who has received his present body because of his past fruitive activity, may end the results of his actions in this life, but this does not mean that he is liberated from bondage to material bodies
- The Lord is described as amrta, or deathless, because He has no material body. Under the circumstances, the Lord's dying or quitting His body is like the jugglery of a magician
- The material bodies of all living entities cannot exist unless sheltered by the spirit soul and the Supersoul
- The material body is symptomized by birth, death, old age and diseases, but the spiritual body is conspicuous by the absence of those symptoms
- The ordinary living entities who are manifested in this material world have bodies created by the material energy
- The parts of the body, such as the senses, are the creation of the mahat-tattva, and when they are assembled by the will of the Lord, the material body comes into existence, and the living entity is allowed to use it for further activities
- The real truth is knowledge of how to get out of the material body, which is the source of all trouble
- The result is that instead of attaining an unconditional life of full freedom, the mad conditioned soul is entangled again and again in different types of bondage in material bodies
- The Supersoul, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, has no material body, and because He has no material body, He is not affected by any work He executes
- The Supreme Lord said, The indestructible, transcendental living entity is called Brahman, and his eternal nature is called the self. Action pertaining to the development of these material bodies is called karma, or fruitive activities. BG 8.3 - 1972
- The word sattvaya indicates that the form of the Lord is not material. It is sac-cid-ananda-vigrahah. Isvarah paramah krsnah sac-cid-ananda-vigrahah (BS 5.1). His body is different from our material bodies
- The words lingad vinirgame, which are used here (in SB 3.27.28-29), mean "after being freed from the two kinds of material bodies, subtle and gross
- There are no such differences for Krsna, because His body is full of knowledge. Here we receive material bodies because of a lack of knowledge, but because Krsna, Vasudeva, is full of knowledge, there is no difference between His body and His soul
- There are two kinds of liberated souls having material bodies: the soul liberated by devotional service and the soul liberated by the cultivation of knowledge

- They (devotees of God) will simply change their material bodies for spiritual bodies. Unlike the demons, they no longer have to change material bodies. The Lord, therefore, is simultaneously death and immortality
- This material body continues as long as one is not detached from the false conception of lording it over material nature
- This material body doesn't endure eternally, everything in relation with this temporary body, such as the wife, children, society and country, changes along with the change of body. This is called samsara or repetition of birth, death, old age & disease

- This very significant question (how associates of the Personality of Godhead were cursed to descend in material bodies like ordinary persons) would be difficult for an ordinary person to answer, but Narada Muni, being an authority, could answer it
- Those known as the sahajiyas foolishly think that their material bodies are transcendental. Because of this, they are always bereft of the association of pure devotees, and thus they cannot behave like Vaisnavas

- We all have to suffer or enjoy the reactions of our work, be they good or bad. As long as we have to suffer or enjoy these reactions, we are bound to these material bodies
- We have often heard of Krsna's rasa-lila with the cowherd girls in Vrndavana. That is not like ordinary exchanges that take place between these material bodies. Rather it is an exchange of feelings through spiritual bodies
- We should know that beyond these temporary senses are our permanent senses, which are now covered by the material body
