- Following the course of the Ganges, they (Sri Rupa Gosvami and Anupama) reached Allahabad, or Prayaga-tirtha, but because Sanatana Gosvami had come there by a different road, they did not meet him there

- Having made this resolution, Sanatana Gosvami went to Nilacala, where he asked directions from people and approached the residence of Haridasa Thakura
- He (Rupa Gosvami) and his brother Sanatana were then named Dabira Khasa and Sakara Mallika respectively, and they held responsible posts as ministers of Nawab Hussain Shah

- He (Sanatana Gosvami) concluded that Isana was secretly carrying some money and that the hotel keeper was aware of this and therefore planned to kill them for it
- He (Sanatana Gosvami) considered himself to have been converted into a Muslim. He was therefore always very humble and meek

- He (Sanatana Gosvami) then (after crossing over the Hazipur mountains) met his brother-in-law Srikanta, who requested that he stay with him. Sanatana Gosvami refused, but before they parted Srikanta gave him a valuable blanket
- He (Sanatana Gosvami) told the Nawab - My dear brother, you are the independent ruler of Bengal. You can act in whatever way you like, and if someone commits a fault, you can punish him accordingly
- He (Sanatana Gosvami) was handcuffed; and because he jumped he could not swim so by the waves of the Ganges he was carried away. I could not save him. "You tell the Nawab like this." So he (superintendent of jail) thought it is nice, wise advice

- He (Subuddhi Raya) was very pleased to meet Sri Rupa Gosvami and Anupama, and he showed them the twelve forests of Vrndavana. Thus they lived in Vrndavana for one month and then again went to search for Sanatana Gosvami
- He (the poor brahmana) now could get as much gold as he desired simply by touching the touchstone to iron. But after he left Sanatana, he thought, "If a touchstone is the best benediction, why has Sanatana Gosvami kept it with the garbage
- He (the poor brahmana) therefore returned and asked Sanatana Gosvami, Sir, if this is the best benediction, why did you keep it with the garbage?
- He (the poor man) came back and appealed to Sanatana Gosvami that "Lord Siva told me you have got something most valuable. I don't think this stone is most valuable. Otherwise, why would you keep it with the garbage
- He also compiled the Hari-bhakti-vilasa, from which we can understand the standard behavior of a devotee and the full extent of a Vaisnava's duty
- He heard Srimad-Bhagavatam and talks about Lord Krsna with us, and both of us examined him
- He said, "I came here for my benefit, but I see that I am getting just the opposite. I am unfit to render service. I simply commit offenses day after day"
- He stayed up all night and cried. In the morning, he came to us and submitted the following plea
- He's (Sanatana Goswami) teaching us by his life example that without approaching spiritual master, you cannot have any spiritual enlightenment. That is not possible. You must approach a bona fide spiritual master and serve him
- His (Lord Caitanya) representative is Sri Svarupa Damodara Gosvami, and the next representatives are the six Gosvamis - Sri Rupa, Sri Sanatana, Bhatta Raghunatha, Sri Jiva, Gopala Bhatta and Dasa Raghunatha
- His (Sanatana Gosvami's) brother, Rupa Gosvami, was also a minister in the government, but both of them gave up their lucrative government posts to become mendicants and serve the Supreme Lord

- Humility, renunciation and excellent learning exist in him (Sanatana Gosvami) simultaneously
- Humility, renunciation and learned scholarship were combined in Sanatana Gosvami, the ideal pure devotee, who was on the same level of understanding as Srila Ramananda Raya

- I accept as my family Deity Madana-mohana, whose worshipers are Raghunatha dasa Gosvami, Sri Rupa Gosvami and Sanatana Gosvami
- I also remember the six Gosvamis - Rupa, Sanatana, Bhatta Raghunatha, Sri Jiva, Gopala Bhatta and Dasa Raghunatha
- I always think of Myself as deserving no respect, but because of affection I always consider you to be like My little children
- I am lowborn. Indeed, I am the lowest. I am condemned, for I have all the characteristics of a sinful man. If You keep me alive, what will be the profit
- "I am not joking with you," Sanatana informed him (mendicant). "I am very serious. Will you kindly exchange that torn quilt for this blanket?" Finally the mendicant exchanged his torn quilt for the blanket, and Sanatana returned to the Lord
- I came by the path on the bank of the Ganges, whereas Sanatana Gosvami came by the public road. Therefore we did not meet
- I came here for my benefit, but now I see that I am getting just the opposite. I do not know, nor can I ascertain, how there will be benefit for me
- I can also understand my misfortune. No one in this world is as fortunate as Jagadananda
- "I do not know the mercy of Krsna," Sanatana replied (to Caitanya Mahaprabhu), "but I can understand that Your mercy upon me is causeless. You have delivered me from the entanglement of material life"
- I empowered both of these brothers to go to Vrndavana to expand the literature of bhakti
- I have consulted Jagadananda Pandita for his opinion, and he has also advised me to return to Vrndavana
