- We have forgotten our relation with Godhead from time immemorial by somehow or other & due to our forgetfulness of the relation, we are roaming life after life in different species of bodies which are 84 lacs in number
- We have no taste for spiritual upliftment. That taste we have lost. That is the stage of our present existence - forgetfulness. We do not know how our taste should be created, how our taste should be converted from material to spiritual
- We should not be forgetful, that our eatables which come to us, they can be manufactured by our sweet will. No
- What we need to do is to revive this relationship (with Krsna) which has merged into oblivion because the covering and detaching process of the illusory energy, called maya, has fostered temporary forgetfulness
- When a person becomes materially engrossed, he has no capacity to hear about spiritual existence. Forgetfulness of spiritual existence entangles a man more and more in material existence
- When one cannot understand his sufferings of this material contamination, his life is animal life. He knows that he's suffering, but he's trying to cover the suffering by some nonsense means: by forgetfulness, by drinking, by intoxication
- When one forgets all such membership (of a family or as a member of a society or country) in material circumstances and realizes that he is an eternal servant of the Supreme Lord, that is actual forgetfulness of material existence
- When one is forgetful of his constitutional position, he appears in the position of the lord of material nature. Even at that time he remains a servant of the Supreme Lord, but in an unqualified or contaminated state
- When the transcendental vibration from the mouths of great devotees carries the aroma of the saffron dust of Your lotus feet, the forgetful living entity gradually remembers his eternal relationship with You
- When they (the living entities) come in contact with maya, the material potency, due to their forgetfulness their existential constitution is covered
- When we are illusioned in this way (by anger), forgetfulness of our relationship with Krsna follows, and by thus losing Krsna consciousness, our real intelligence is defeated. In this way we become entangled in this material world
- While exploiting the gross and subtle inferior energy (matter), the superior energy (the living entity) forgets his real spiritual mind and intelligence. This forgetfulness is due to the influence of matter upon the living entity. BG 1972 purports
- While sleeping, we forget everything about this body and bodily relations, although this forgetfulness is a temporary situation for only a few hours
