- A body is given to us by the superior power, and the duration of life is also fixed up. Even the greatest scientist, he cannot increase a moment's time for his life
- A brahmacari dedicates his life to attaining supreme consciousness - Krsna consciousness or Brahman consciousness
- A brahmacari is supposed to work as a menial servant of the Spiritual Master, and whatever collection he gets, it becomes the Spiritual Master's property, not the brahmacari's. That is real brahmacari life.
- A brahmacari is trained to refrain from sex life. That is brahmacari, celibacy. But if he is still not able, then he is allowed to accept grhastha life
- A brahmacari, or student, should perform sacrifices, a householder should give charity, and a person in the retired life or in the renounced order should practice penances and austerities
- A cheater brahmacari should immediately be rejected as unimportant. Such persons should be shown compassion, and if one has sufficient strength one should teach them to stop them from following the wrong path in life

- Because the householders are engaged in family affairs and have forgotten their purpose in life-awakening their Krsna consciousness - it is the business of the sannyasis to go as beggars to the householders and encourage them to be KC. BG 1972 purports
- Because the sense organs for activity and for acquiring knowledge require energy, the vital energy, or life energy, is also produced by egoism in the mode of passion
- Because their lusty desires have created heavy work that puts them always in trouble, Krsna comes to introduce the system by which one can get relief from this continuously troublesome life
- Because they (the big political leaders) spoil their lives with the illusion of "this is my land and my family," they cannot progress spiritually and attain liberation from the clutches of maya
- Because we are part and parcel of God, Krsna, we are also trying to achieve that life, that "There will be no more to work. Let me accumulate some bank balance, the interest will come, and I shall sit down in a nice apartment, and everything will come"
- Because we have come to this conditional state of life, bhutva bhutva praliyate (BG 8.19), we sometimes . . . once we take birth and again we die - this is not very good proposal. But these rascals, they do not know how nature is working
- Before entering household life (grhastha-asrama), a student is fully trained to become jitendriya, a conqueror of the senses
- Before entering household life, one should be trained as a brahmacari, living under the care of the guru, whose place is known as the guru-kula. Brahmacari guru-kule vasan danto guror hitam - SB 7.12.1
- Before meeting death one is sure to become a diseased invalid, and when he is neglected by his family members, his life becomes less than a dog's because he is put into so many miserable conditions
- Being freed from all external affairs, he had nothing to do with imperial life or family prestige, and for all practical purposes he posed himself exactly like an inert mad urchin and did not speak of material affairs
- Being freed from all obligations of family, society, country, etc. (one who has spoiled his life without cultural activities) give up the body at some unknown destination so that others may not know where and how he has met his death
- Being misled by the illusory energy in this way, he (the living entity) spoils his life. It is said, harim vina mrtim na taranti: no one can be saved from the imminent danger of death without taking shelter of the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- Being perfect in sense control, one will follow the regulative principles even if he becomes a householder. From household life one is ordered to accept vanaprastha life and go to the forest and then accept sannyasa. That is the perfection of life
- Being self-sufficient, the Supreme Lord does not need huge sacrifices. Fruitive activity for a more opulent life is for those who desire such material opulence for their interest
- Below Vaikunthaloka is the material universe, where Lord Brahma and others in Brahmaloka can live until the annihilation of this universe; but that life is not permanent
- Besides all this, King Gaya was a householder who strictly observed the rules and regulations of household life. He performed sacrifices and was an unalloyed pure devotee of the Supreme Personality of Godhead

- Both the materialistic way of life, without any information of God or the demigods, and the life engaged in the worship of demigods, in pursuit of temporary material enjoyments, are different phases of phantasmagoria
- Brahma created four principles of knowledge: vairagya, the acceptance of complete detachment from material enjoyment in life to elevate oneself to the highest spiritual understanding
- Brahma first looked upon Priyavrata with compassion. His smile and compassionate features also indicated that although Brahma would request Priyavrata to accept household life, Priyavrata would not be out of touch with devotional service
- Brahma had come to praise Priyavrata for his high standard of renunciation, austerity, penance and devotion so that he would not be deviated from devotional service, even though he would accept household life

- Brahma saw all around him the superexcellent view of Vrndavana - full with trees - which is the source of life for all living entities

- Brahma-jijnasa means spiritual inquiry. So the cat & dog cannot inquire. It is not possible. But when you have got this human form of body, especially born in India & in a brahmana family, if you misuse your life like cats and dogs, that is a great loss
- Brahmacari is meant for the boys, not for the girls. Girls, they are to be married. A brahmacari may remain unmarried for life, but according to Vedic civilization, a girl must be married
- Brahmacari means student life, vanaprastha means retired life and sannyasa means renounced life. For them the minimum necessities of life is prescribed. And they should be automatically minimum
- Brahmacarya is student life, the beginning of life in the spiritual orders, and the principle of brahmacarya is celibacy. Only a householder can indulge in sense gratification or sex life, not a brahmacari
- Brahmacarya, the descriptions are given here (in BG 7.11), how you can execute brahmacari life. You cannot think of sex life, you cannot talk of sex life, you cannot whisper about sex life. There are eight types of different regulation to stop sex life

- Business offices close at a fixed hour no matter what balance of work remains. Similarly, after the age of fifty one must retire from the active, external life and devote oneself to the introspective cultivation of the human spirit
- By attaining knowledge and knowing its practical application in life, one becomes convinced about the Absolute Truth
- By chance, I have got this life, and it will be finished after death. There is no question of past, present or future. Let us enjoy. - This is called ignorance, tamasa, irresponsible life
- By chanting the Hare Krsna maha-mantra - all one's sins are eradicated and one becomes fully reformed. In other words, one comes to the spiritual platform, and that is success in life
- By controlling the breath, the perfect yogi can continue his life for as long as he likes

- By his (Vidura's) pious activities in the devotional service of the Lord he was able to always remember the lotus feet of the Lord, and thus he became washed of all contamination of a sudra-born life
- By his work, thoughts and words, an intelligent man must perform actions which will be beneficial for all living entities in this life and the next
- By ignorance we take this spot life as permanent settlement, & we think "We shall live here permanently & make arrangement to live here permanently, % make assets for my children, for my nation." But we do not know cycle of transmigration is not fixed up
- By impious activities we remain illiterate, get ugly bodies, a poor standard of living, etc. But all these different states of life are under the laws of material nature through the interaction of the qualities of goodness, passion and ignorance

- By such association, people can develop more and more in Krsna consciousness. Such advancement is not possible in ordinary household life, which is devoid of Krsna consciousness
- By taking such instructions from higher authorities, one can actually become situated in perfect knowledge and give real meaning to life
- By the grace of a devotee, a servant of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, one can get the clue to Krsna consciousness and then not only become happy in this world but also return home, back to Godhead. That is the real target in life
- By the grace of Krsna and His devotee, one’s life can change. This is confirmed in Srimad-Bhagavatam by the words jahati bandham and sudhyanti

- By worshiping, executing austerities and following the regulative principles, King Malayadhvaja conquered his senses, his life and his consciousness. Thus he fixed everything on the central point of the Supreme Brahman (Krsna)
- By your pure example and following regulative principles you will be spiritually strong and attract many Italians who are looking for the actual meaning to life

- Caitanya has advised this para-upakara, and He has especially advised the inhabitants of India: One who has taken his birth as a human being in the land of India should make his life successful and work for the benefit of all other people - CC Adi 9.41
- Caitanya Mahaprabhu has given us this easy program. So don't deviate from this. Chant Hare Krsna and take prasadam. Make life simplified and be happy. That is Krsna consciousness movement
- Caitanya Mahaprabhu said, prema pum-artho mahan (Caitanya-manjusa): "The supreme gain of life is how to be situated in the platform of loving service to the Supreme Person, God." That is actual perfection
- Caitanya said, "Even though I do not see the moonlike face of Krsna as He plays on His flute, and although there is no possibility of My meeting Him, still I take care of My own body. That is the way of lust. In this way, I maintain My flylike life"
- Can you guarantee life? Then you are controller. Your so-called advanced medicine or advanced knowledge has no meaning. You have to die. Then where is the value of your empty voice?
- Canakya Pandita gives the example that a moment of life cannot be purchased in exchange for millions of dollars. A foolish person wastes such a valuable life without knowing how much he is losing, even according to monetary calculations
- Canakya Pandita has also advised that if one has a wife like a sly fox, he must immediately give up his life at home and go to the forest
- Canakya Pandita says if you have got some money, it will be spent up. In your life or your next life, your son's life, it will be spent up. Vinase niyate sati, that is the nature's way
- Canakya Pandita says, sariram ksana-vidhvamsi kalpanta-sthayino gunah: The duration of one's life in the material world may end at any moment, but if within this life one does something worthy, that qualification is depicted in history eternally
- Carrying out the order of His father, who was bound by a promise to his wife, Ramacandra left behind His kingdom, opulence, friends, well-wishers, residence & everything else, just as a liberated soul gives up his life, and went to the forest with Sita
- Certainly his grief was natural. Grhastha life does not mean having a wife and no children
- Charitable personalities such as Hariscandra, Rantideva and Mudgala, who used to live only on grains picked up from the paddy field, and the great Maharaja Sibi, who saved the life of a pigeon by supplying flesh from his own body
- Chemical evolution is part of life demonstration. That I have already explained. Just like the chemical, citric acid, coming from lemon tree, a life. It is coming. So all chemicals are being produced
- Chemical evolution, you get the chemicals and make a experiment and produce life. Then your proposal is all right that by chemical evolution there is life
- Child is the father of man, so the basic principle of any type of life is to instruct to the children from the very beginning. Krishna Consciousness. Children grow to be the topmost leaders of the human society
- Children has also some troubles of life. Now, if one of the children requests the mother, "You have given birth to me, but I find my life very troublesome. Better you again put me in your belly." Is it a good proposal? It is not at all a good proposal
- Children should be taught from the very beginning of life to be first-class brahmacaris. Then it will be possible for them to give up household life in the future
- Civilization means that, the process by which we can transfer ourself from this nonpermanent life to permanent life, life of ignorance to life of knowledge, life of suffering to life of enjoyment. That is spiritual life
- Concentrating the mind on Krsna, even by vibration, because there is no difference of identity between the vibration of the name of Krsna and Krsna, therefore this is the highest form of yoga practice. And life dedicated for Krsna's service
- Conditional existence is described here (in SB 3.27.4) as dhyayato visayan asya. Visaya means "an object of enjoyment." As long as one continues to think that he can enjoy material advantages, he is in conditioned life
- Consider this battle a gambling match in which our lives are the stakes, the arrows are the dice, and the animals acting as carriers are the game board. No one can understand who will be defeated and who will be victorious. It all depends on providence
- Controlling the senses, truthful, clean, full of knowledge, believing in the sastra and God, and vijnanam, practical application of knowledge in life, vijnanam . . . simply to know is useless. You must practically apply in life. That is called vijnanam
- Cooperation is possible to be made either by life, wealth, intelligence or words. Every one has got some of the above assets of the above four principles, and we can engage them in the service of the Lord
- Cranelike politicians especially are too much attached to the false prestige of position and rank, and so they always seek reelection, even at the fag end of life. These are some of the symptoms of an uncultured life
- Crows have no independent life; they fully depend on the remnants of foodstuffs thrown by householders into the garbage tank
- Cultural life culminates when actually one becomes a brahmin, Vaisnava. That is real cultural life. Not by birth but by cultivation of knowledge, education, advancement, spiritual knowledge, one comes to the platform of brahmin

- Daksa said: Narada Muni, you wear the dress of a saintly person, but you are not actually a saint. Indeed, although I am now in grhastha life, I am a saintly person. By showing my sons the path of renunciation, you have done me an abominable injustice
- (Darwin's) theory that combination of matter makes a situation when living symptoms come out. No, from chemical, life has not come; from life, chemical has come. This is real theory
- Darwin's theory that life is made possible by chemical evolution is not correct. They are missing the soul. That is their mistake. They are simply observing the material cover. That is the basic mistake of modern civilization
- Dead life organization
- Demons are very fond of sex life. The more one is free from the desires for sex, the more he is promoted to the level of the demigods; the more one is inclined to enjoy sex, the more he is degraded to the level of demoniac life
- Describing the history of Ajamila's life, the Yamadutas relate that in the beginning he was a learned scholar of the Vedic literature. He was well behaved, neat and clean, and very kind to everyone. In fact, he had all good qualities
- Despite a very rigid life in devotional service, Bharata Maharaja did not consult a spiritual master when he became overly attached to a deer. Consequently he became strongly attached to the deer, and, forgetting his spiritual routine, he fell down
- Deterioration of the ideals of Indian civilization has brought about the deterioration of civic life, not only in India but also abroad
- Devahuti demonstrated all these statements of the Manu-samhita in her life: as a child she was dependent on her father, later she was dependent on her husband, in spite of her opulence, and she was later on dependent on her son, Kapiladeva
- Devahuti is requesting Bhagavan Kapiladeva that I am in this illusion, aham mameti -(SB 5.5.8), by false conception of life. Kindly You dissipate this illusion because You are my guru
- Devotees like Prahlada Maharaja laugh at how foolish they are to be busy in a temporary life without knowledge of the soul's transmigration from one body to another
- Devotional service may be regulative or affectionate. One who has not developed transcendental affection for Krsna should conduct his life according to the directions and regulations of the scriptures and the spiritual master
- Dhrtarastra was lucky enough to have a brother whose very association was a source of liberation for his frustrated life
- Dhrtarastra, due to his wrong conception of life, had already spoiled eighty percent of his achieved energy, so it behooved him to utilize the remaining days of his miserly life for the ultimate good
- Dhruva Maharaja said: My dear Lord, You are all-powerful. After entering within me, You have enlivened all my sleeping senses - my hands, legs, ears, touch sensation, life force and especially my power of speech
- Dhruva Maharaja thus surpassed the seven planetary systems of the great sages who are known as saptarsi. Beyond that region, he achieved the transcendental situation of permanent life in the planet where Lord Visnu lives
- Difficulty is these rascals are going on as scholar, dehatma-buddhih. Their life is bodily concept of life, & they are passing as scientist, scholars, leaders, politicians, & they are leading us andha yathandhair. They are blind, & they are leading us
- Disciple means one who observes discipline. If one does not observe discipline, then he is not a disciple. And one who is not a disciple, his life is chaotic. He cannot be happy
- Don't be members of the society of cheaters and cheated. Then the life will be spoiled. Our only request, this Krsna consciousness movement, is, Take to Krsna consciousness
- Don't commit sinful activities, the four things, and chant Hare Krsna. Then your life is saved from hellish condition of life
- Don't show your face to me! Go anywhere else you like. If I die seeing your face, I shall not achieve the destination of my life
- Don't spend a farthing for sinful activities, for which you will be the loser both in this life and the next. After saying this, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu bade them farewell
- Don't waste your time. Simply always pour in, give aural reception to the message of Urukrama. Don't waste a single moment. This should be your life's policy
- Don’t aspire for material enjoyment. Enjoyment is there. Don’t think that "If I stop my material enjoyment, then my life of enjoyment is finished." No. It is not finished
- Due to his (Marutta's) pious activities, he remained a young man throughout his life and reigned over the world for one thousand years, surrounded by his satisfied subjects, ministers, legitimate wife, sons and brothers
- Due to ignorance, the materialistic person does not know anything about his real self-interest, the auspicious path in life. He is simply bound to material enjoyment by lusty desires, and all his plans are made for this purpose
- Dull-minded persons who do not have the intelligence to understand this process of transmigration take for granted that when the gross body is finished, one's life is finished forever. Such persons have no brains
- During his (Arjuna's) student life he was entrusted to study under the great professor Dronacarya, along with other Pandavas and the Kurus
- During student life the brahmacaris were given full instructions about the importance of the human form of life. Thus the basic education was designed to encourage the student in becoming free from family encumbrances
- During the forest life one demon girl, Hidimba, wanted Bhima as her husband. Bhima refused, but when the girl approached Kunti and Yudhisthira, they ordered Bhima to accept her proposal and give her a son
- During the political upsurge in India and its division into Pakistan and Hindustan, so many rich and influential Indians had to surrender life, property and honor due to the influence of time
- During the time of brahmacarya, or student life, a brahmacari should be taught to be expert in bhagavata-dharma, devotional service
- During these talks (about self-realization) the topic of Lord Kapila had come up, and at that time Maitreya had repeated Kapiladeva's discussions with His mother, wherein the Lord states that attachment to material things is the cause of conditioned life
- Duties executed by the Lord for His devotee are always very pleasing to the Lord because the Lord wants to render service to His unalloyed devotee, whose life has no other engagement than to serve the Lord with full love and devotion
- Duties of our ordinary life

- Each child can take advantage of the father's property & instruction, but even though the inheritance and instruction may be the same for all the children, out of their different desires each child creates a different life and thereby suffers or enjoys
- Each of His arms and legs had become three cubits long; only skin connected the separated joints. The Lord's body temperature, indicating life, was very low. All the joints in His arms, legs, neck and waist were separated by at least six inches
- Each time someone reads some solid information about Krishna his life becomes changed in some way
- Eating is not in itself the cause of the vital energy of life. For digestion of eatables we have to take shelter of another, superior energy, which is mentioned in the Bhagavad-gita as vaisvanara
- Eating vegetables is violence, and vegetarians are also committing violence against other living entities because vegetables also have life
- Economic development. What is this nonsense? You are losing yourself. You do not know what life you are going to get next life. You don't care for this. "Never mind whatever life I get. This life I have got. Let me work hard and accumulate money"
- Education does not mean having academic degrees only. One should execute what he has learned in his personal life
- Either you are in jail life or you are in free life, you are always under government control. Similarly, either we remain in the material world or we remain in the spiritual world, we are controlled by Krsna
- Elevation to the higher planets or to a higher life status is never permanent. One must again come down to be submerged in the water. All this is constantly going on in this material existence
- Elevation to the upper planetary systems for the enjoyment of heavenly life is just so much phantasmagoria
- Emperor Bharata was so attracted by the beauty of the lotus feet of Krsna that even in his youthful life he gave up all kinds of attachments to family, children, friends, kingdom, etc., as though they were untouchable stools
- Equilibrium in the transcendental stage of Krsna consciousness is called nirdosam, faultless life
- Especially in India, where Krsna personally came, where He gave..., left behind Him so valuable instruction, Bhagavad-gita, why you are refusing? Why you are misinterpreting and spoiling your life and spoiling others'? Don't do it. Take it very seriously
- Especially in this human form of life, one should engage his life, resources, words and intelligence for the service of the Lord. Only such activities can elevate a human being to the highest level of perfection. This is the verdict of all authorities
- Even a faultless person like Vidura could be charged with something abominable and punished
- Even a grhastha has to give up so many bad habits that his parents think his life has been practically destroyed
- Even a hog, who lives by eating stool, finds himself happy, although a person in a higher mode of life sees that the hog is eating stool. How abominable that life is
- Even if a devotee remains in grhastha life and does not renounce material possessions, he should still be understood to be prasanta, sober, because of his pure devotion to the Lord
- Even if a person is a severe offender in many ways, he is freed from offensive life if he takes shelter of the Lord's holy name
- Even if one becomes happy in this temporary life, his happiness is an illusion because no one is allowed to stay and enjoy his happiness. These points have to be understood in the association of devotees
- Even if one does not understand the language, still, just by hearing, he acquires some piety. His assets lead him to a pious life, even if he does not understand - it has such power
- Even if the husband is not a great devotee like Kardama Muni, it is the wife's duty to adapt herself according to his mentality. That makes married life very happy
- Even if they (modern scientists) were to prepare an egg and put it in an incubator, this man-made chemical egg would not produce a chicken. The soul must be added because there is no question of a chemical combination for life
- Even if we do not endeavor to obtain the advantages of material happiness, we shall obtain them automatically. This happiness and distress are obtainable in any form of life, without endeavor
- Even if we do not kill animals, simply by eating vegetables, they are also life. It does not mean that vegetarians are not killing. They are also killing
- Even if you are put into the jail life, prison life, for these things government has arranged already. In the jail life there is eating, sleeping, arrangement. So for these things we should not be very much anxious. That is human life
- Even in ordinary life it is possible for the mind to be absorbed in such a way that even a surgical operation may not disturb a man
- Even in ordinary life the state has a heating department, lighting department, plumbing department, and so on. Why? Because these are amenities we require. But these arrangements are subordinate; the first arrangement is that of God
- Even in ordinary life, it is our practical experience that a household dog or cat is regarded on the same level as one's children, without any envy
- Even in our daily life, so many things come and go in which we have no hand, but we have to suffer or tolerate them without remedial measure. That is the result of time
- Even in simply drinking water we kill many tiny aquatic creatures. We kill many such living entities merely by cleaning our homes or when eating & sleeping. In sum, we cannot avoid all the sins we incur, even unconsciously, in the ordinary course of life
- Even in the higher statuses of life there is a difference between the understanding of a male and that of a female

- Foolish policy. Just like the deaf man, he thinks everyone is deaf. You know that? This is psychology. Deaf man will think that everyone is deaf. Broadcast radio message in the Pacific Ocean, the aquatics they do not reply, that means there is no life?
- Foolish politicians who hold political administrative posts think that the temporary posts they occupy are the highest material gain of life
- For a devotee, merging into the Brahman existence is hellish, and life in the higher planetary systems of the demigods is a will-o'-the-wisp, a phantasmagoria with no real existence at all
- For a Krsna conscious person, to waste even a moment of life without Krsna consciousness is a great dangerous action. Not only . . . anyone who is interested for higher level of position, he should be very careful of using every moment of life

- Garga Muni had no interest to serve by going to Nanda Maharaja, but Nanda Maharaja, as a grhastha, was always perfectly ready to receive instructions from a mahatma to gain the real benefit in life. Thus he was ready to execute Garga Muni's order

- Great personalities give up their family relationships and material possessions to satisfy the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Indeed, they sometimes even sacrifice their lives for the satisfaction of the Lord, just to become His personal servants
- Great sages and saints in the days of yore were not living in palatial buildings furnished with good furniture and so-called amenities of life
- Great statesmen, scientists, philosophers, etc., who are foolish, without any information of the spirit soul, think that this life of a few years only is all in all and that there is nothing more after death
- Great vows of austerity are undertaken by sages to achieve success in self-realization. Human life is meant for such tapasya, with the great vow of celibacy, or brahmacarya. In the rigid life of tapasya, there is no place for the association of women
- Gross sensualists, encumbered by the main ideas, desires and associations of the lives they have led, desire something against their interest and thus foolishly take on new bodies that perpetuate their material miseries
- Growing into youth one's senses sometimes become disturbed and celibacy becomes difficult. The Kumaras therefore purposefully remained children because in a child's life the senses are never disturbed by sex
- Grtsamada was a great scholar of the Rg-veda, and thus he was highly respected by the brahmana community. He lived a life of celibacy and was powerful in every respect

- Hadai Pandita immediately agreed and delivered his son to him (the sannyasi who begged to have Nityananda Prabhu as his brahmacari assistent), although the separation was greatly shocking, so much so that Hadai lost his life after the separation
- Half of these years (of life) are spent in sleep. Furthermore, one wastes another thirty years sleeping at night during the rest of his life
- Happiness derived from the touch of skin, or sensuous happiness, is present in the life of hogs and dogs. Such happiness is very insignificant. If a devotee worships the Lord for such insignificant happiness, he must be considered devoid of all knowledge
- Happiness of humanity at the cost of the lives of poor animals. That is not recommended herein. This verse clearly says that one should be compassionate to all living entities. Regardless of whether human, animal, tree or plant

- Hatred of the lower orders of life began from this brahmana boy, under the influence of Kali, and thus cultural life began to dwindle day after day

- Having lost sight of their destinations in life, all living entities are wandering in different species throughout the universe, sometimes getting birth in a lower species and sometimes existence in higher planetary systems
- He (a brahmana) has full knowledge, and he knows how to apply knowledge in life. He has full faith in the authority of the Vedas, a quality called astikyam
- He (a philosophically inclined person) should try to get into the permanent life of bliss and knowledge where he will not be forced to come back again to the miserable material world, either in this or that planet
- He (Bhismadeva) described the occupational duties of different orders and statuses of life, citing instances from history, for he was himself well acquainted with the truth
- He (Caitanya Mahaprabhu) said that even by a moments association with a pure devotee, one can achieve all perfection. We are not ashamed to admit that this fact was experienced in our practical life
- He (Christ) said - that is in the Bible - that he took all the sinful reactions of the people and sacrificed his life. But these Christian people have made it a law for Christ to suffer while they do all nonsense. Such great fools they are
- He (Damodara Svarupa) met Caitanya Mahaprabhu there (in Jagannatha Puri) and dedicated his life for the service of the Lord. He became Lord Caitanya's secretary and constant companion
- He (devotee who develops in devotional service) is simply inspired to serve the Lord, and he engages his entire life in such service. This is the difference between Vaisnava and Mayavadi philosophers
- He (Dhrtarastra) was advised to leave home before Kali-yuga approached because the atmosphere which was created by Vidura, his valuable instructions on the facts of life, would fade away due to the influence of the age which was fast approaching
- He (Jayadeva) passed the last days of his life in Jagannatha Puri
- He (Kamsa) was acting as his sister's chariot driver, but as soon as he heard that his self-interest or his life was at risk, he forgot all affection for her and immediately became a great enemy. This is the nature of demons
- He (King Nrga) was very powerful and very pious, but due to the small mistake of unknowingly usurping a brahmana's cow, he was condemned to the abominable life of a lizard
- He (King Prthu) did not collect a single cent of taxes from the citizens without being able to give them protection from all calamities. The greatest calamity in life is to become godless and therefore sinful
- He (Krsna) killed the Putana witch, although she smeared her breast with poison just to kill the Lord. The Lord sucked her breast like a natural baby, and He sucked out her very life also
- He (Krsnadasa Kaviraja Gosvami) wrote that he was so sinful that no one should even utter his name, lest that person fall down! Of course, when a great devotee speaks this way, we should not believe that he is actually in the lower status of life
- He (Maharaja Khatvanga) was not as anxious to accumulate some material benediction from the demigods as he was to prepare himself for the next life. He was informed by the demigods, however, that his life would last only a moment longer
- He (Maharaja Pariksit) became a victim of an offense, even though he was ever unwilling to commit such a mistake. He was cursed also, but because he was a great devotee of the Lord, even such reverses of life became favorable
- He (Mucukunda) decided to remain in that Gandhamadana Mountain region to execute austerities and penances for the rest of his life
- He (Narada) first explained the dealings of a brahmacari, vanaprastha and sannyasi because these three asramas, or statuses of life, are extremely important for fulfillment of the goal of life
- He (Narayana) enlivens the body, the senses, the breath of life, and the heart, and thus they move. Know Him to be supreme
- He (Rukmi) decided in anger not to return to his capital city, and he constructed a small cottage in the village known as Bhojakata, where he resided for the rest of his life

- He amalgamated all the sense organs into the mind, then the mind into life, life into breathing, his total existence into the embodiment of the five elements, and his body into death. Then, as pure self, he became free from the material conception of life
- He could not imagine what kind of pious activities he had performed. This is a sign of humility on the part of King Prthu, whose life was so full of pious activities that even Lord Visnu came to see him and predicted that the Kumaras would also come

- He forgets that before him is time, which is taking away his life-span with the passing of day and night. He does not see the gradual diminishing of his life, nor does he care about the superintendent of death, who is trying to kill him from behind
- He has done a mistake, so he wants to rectify it. He wants to bring money, but if the money is lost, it is lost. Let him come back. What is there? A life saved is more important than save the money
- He is eating stool and becoming fatty, and as soon as there is sex desire, without any discrimination he enjoys many she-hogs, never mind sister or mother. Because the life is so made that he will enjoy in this way

- If we want to transcend above this material plane, then we'll have to completely reject the bodily conception of life. We have to stand on the spiritual consciousness of life. That is being taught
- If you accept this conclusion of Mine, being unattached to material enjoyment, adhering to Me with great faith and thus becoming proficient and fully aware of knowledge and its practical application in life, you will achieve the highest perfection

- If you at the time of death think of that, how to swim very nicely within the water, that means next life nature will give you a fish life. You get it. That is God's mercy. Why you artificially try to become a fish? You become actually fish
