- Bhagavad-gita explains that there are three kinds of charity - charity in the mode of goodness, passion and ignorance. A person in the mode of goodness knows where charity should be given
- Bhagavad-gita is not going to make any topsy-turvy of the social order or spiritual order. No. It should be standardized according to the authority. And the best authority is Krsna
- Bhagavad-gita is the essence of all Vedic knowledge, and therefore it is the scripture whose instructions should be especially accepted. In this essence of all sastras, Krsna personally advises that one give up all other duties and surrender unto Him
- Bhagavad-gita recommends that any work done should be done for om tat sat, or for the Supreme Personality of Godhead. When one performs penance, charity, and sacrifice with these three words, he is acting in Krsna consciousness. BG 1972 purports

- Brahmanas and Vaisnavas should be accepted as earthly representatives of Narayana

- Every living entity should be nourished by the food given by the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- Every living entity who attains the human form of life can understand the importance of his position & thus become eligible to become a devotee of Lord Krsna. We take it for granted, therefore, that all humanity should be educated in Krsna consciousness

- Every one of us who is engaged in devotional service in Krsna consciousness should be completely free from all material aspirations. Otherwise we will have to lament like Dhruva Maharaja

- Every word should be distinctly chanted and heard
- Everyone has a tendency to give something in charity; Krsna says, "Give it to Me," and this means that all surplus money accummulated should be utilized in furthering the Krsna consciousness movement. BG 1972 purports

- Everyone must be engaged in his particular duty, but the perfection of such work should be tested by how far the Lord is satisfied with such activities
- Everyone should also be taught to be simple in thought and feeling and satisfied in body and mind. These are the general qualifications of a human being. There is no question of a secular state or an ecclesiastical state
- Everyone should be employed. And his employment will be provided from any of these groups, according to his capacity. Either as a brahmana, or as a ksatriya, or as a vaisya, or as a sudra
- Everyone should be engaged in Krsna consciousness, then life is successful. And self-sufficient. If we have got spoiling living program, these are necessities
- Everyone should be engaged in preaching the cult of Krsna consciousness
- Everyone should be engaged. If one is not competent to dress the Deity - everyone is competent - he can simply wash the temple and cleanse it. That will also help

- Everyone should be given the opportunity to take prasada, but this does not mean that everyone has the right to become Narayana

- Everyone should be prepared to propagate this movement (of Krsna consciousness). As instructed by Lord Caitanya, one should be humbler than the grass on the ground and more tolerant than the tree
- Everyone should be unhappy to see others in distress and happy to see others happy. One should feel the happiness and distress of others as his own. It is on this basis that the Buddhist religious principle of nonviolence is established

- I beg to inform you that all my temples and centers here in India are being managed by my foreign disciples. I want that they should be admitted as immigrants
- I do not die even after the annihilation of this body. Then where is my eternal body? This question should be raised by the human form of life. Athato brahma jijnasa

- In your country, the Deity should not go without shirt. Gaura-Nitai may wear turbans. Nothing should be offered to Krishna unless it is prepared by the devotees themselves
- In your Western countries Lord Caitanya should be entirely covered, He should not appear bare-chested
- Indeed, all respects should be given to him, and whatever he offers should be accepted. Such devotees are as worshipable as I am
- Indeed, the devotional process is very pleasant; we melodiously sing with instruments, and someone will listen and also join (sravanam kirtanam (SB 7.5.23)). Of course the music should be in relation with the Supreme Lord, in glorification of Him
- Indra said, "Because they have taken Krsna so seriously, they must be punished. They should be destroyed with their cows." In this way Indra ordered the Samvartaka cloud to go to Vrndavana and inundate the place
- Initiation should be given as a future hope, but we should be careful about the second initiation
- Inquiry should be genuine and the answer should come from a genuine person
- Instead of being envious of a more qualified man, one should be jolly to receive him
- Instead of being envious that Krsna consciousness is spreading all over the world by the grace of Lord Caitanya, those who are jealous should be happy, as indicated here (in CC Adi 7.27) by the words parama ullasa
- Instead of being oppressive to a less qualified man, one should be compassionate toward him just to raise him to the proper standard
- Instead of employing enthusiasm for attaining material goals, one should be enthusiastic about achieving the perfectional stage of devotional service
- Instruction should be given to the faithful devotee who is respectful to the spiritual master, nonenvious, friendly to all kinds of living entities and eager to render service with faith and sincerity
- Instructions from family members and society should be accepted superficially, but in essence the grhastha should be engaged in occupational duties advised by the spiritual master and sastra
- Intelligent persons, however, know that such mantras will never be successful, and as such they never patronize such upstart spiritual groups. People should be very careful of these nonsensical sampradayas
- Is that rational, that another living entity like me should be killed for my benefit, for satisfying my tongue?
- It (Lord Caitanya’s sankirtana movement) should be preached without discrimination
- It (medicine) must be taken according to the directions on the label or the directions given by a physician. Similarly, Bhagavad-gita should be taken or accepted as it is directed by the speaker himself. BG 1972 Introduction
- It (SB 5.5.5) is such inquiry that begins the Vedanta-sutra: athato brahma jijnasa. A human being should be inquisitive to know who he is, what the universe is, what God is, and what the relationship is between himself, God and the material world
- It (the money needed to spread this movement) should be used for Krsna, and that will cause our eternal happiness
- It (the third six chapters of Bhagavad-gita) was concluded that all acts should be performed in conjunction with the Supreme Lord, summarized by the words om tat sat, which indicate Visnu, the Supreme Person. BG 1972 purports
- It does not matter you learn to love God through Christianism or Hinduism or Muslimism, any "ism," but the result should be how much you have advanced in the art of loving God
- It doesn't matter whether we accept a material body or a spiritual body; our only ambition should be to serve the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- It doesn't matter whether you develop love of Godhead from this scripture or that scripture. Your aim should be whether you are developing love of Godhead or developing love of non-God. That should be the test
- It is a Vedic injunction that even if a guest is an enemy he should be received so well that he does not apprehend any danger from the host
- It is abominable for a ksatriya to be defeated by one who is inferior in strength or equal in strength. If one is defeated at all, he should be defeated by some superior power
- It is also recommended that one should live on the banks of Radha-kunda and should be absorbed in the loving service of the Lord
- It is best to accept the injunctions of the Vedas, which are mentioned as yad-vaci. In accordance with those injunctions, everyone should find out whether he is a brahmana, ksatriya, vaisya or sudra and should thus be educated accordingly
- It is better to take the right path, even at the risk of death. Human life is meant for finishing all kinds of miseries of material existence, and life should be so regulated that one can achieve the desired goal
- It is clearly outlined here (in BG 18.10) how to renounce the fruits of work and for what purpose fruits should be renounced. BG 1972 purports
- It is confirmed also in the Bhagavad-gita that a devotee who has unflinching faith in and devotion to the Lord, even if he is sometimes found to be accidentally deviated from pure devotional characteristics, should still be counted amongst the pure
- It is considered to be disadvantageous to desire liberation. The only desire should be the desire to render service
- It is described in Bhagavad-gita that the teachings therein should be received by disciplic succession, otherwise there is adulteration
- It is enjoined in the Vaisnaviya Purana that Visnu, or Narayana, is the exalted Supreme Personality of Godhead, and no one should be compared to Him as equal
- It is especially useless to speculate about God. Therefore Srimad-Bhagavatam recommends that all sorts of speculation should be given up
- It is good to hold more classes with the bhaktas, but they should all be on the basis of our books. You should not go beyond the jurisdiction of our teaching
- It is indicated herein (CC Adi 17.35) that under such circumstances (nonbelievers come to disturb the ceremony of chanting) the temple doors should be closed. Only bona fide chanters should be admitted; others should not
- It is my desire that Indian Vaisnavas should be energetic in cooperating with this Krishna Consciousness movement in the Western countries
- It is not enough simply to abolish the caste system, which is contaminated by the false conception of qualification by birthright. Certainly, this wrong caste system should be abolished
- It is not possible to become desireless. The desire for sense gratification must be overcome by the process of purification, but desire for Krsna should be cultivated. It is simply that we have to transfer the desire
- It is not possible to purchase food for the cows. So maintain in this way, so, by natural food. And in your Germany I have seen, they are not given extra food. They are living by pasturing ground. That should be arranged
- It is not that a chaste woman should be like a slave while her husband is naradhama, the lowest of men
- It is not that everyone should be equally expert. But the thing that is needed is that we should be serious and sincere in our engagement. Nobody can adequately serve Krishna because Krishna is unlimited
- It is not that senses should be stopped. No. It should be controlled. "When I require, I shall use it; otherwise not." That is master of senses. "I shall not act impelled by the senses. Senses should act under my direction"
- It is not that we are to search out a spiritual master whimsically. We should be very serious to find a person who is actually in knowledge of the subject
- It is not that we should blindly surrender, but we should be able to inquire with intelligence
- It is one's strict adherence to the principles that should be considered, not the country of one's birth
- It is our main consideration in the development of our centers that the people should be attracted to this Krsna consciousness Movement one way or another

- It is recommended they should be married at very early age, then the wife will remain always chaste and devoted to her husband

- It is the concern of the acarya to show mercy to the fallen souls. In this connection, desa-kala-patra (the place, the time and the object) should be taken into consideration
- It is the duty of the parents to see that the children are growing luxuriantly not only materially, but spiritually also. So spiritual training should be given from the very beginning
- It is the order of Lord Caitanya that krsna-katha should be spread all over the world, because if the conditioned souls, suffering under the pangs of material existence, take to krsna-katha, then their path of liberation will be open and clear
- It is therefore concluded that one who chants the holy name of the Lord should be understood to have performed all kinds of austerities and great sacrifices mentioned in the Vedas. He has already taken his bath in all the holy places of pilgrimage
- It is this daiva-varnasrama that should be established all over the world to continue a perfect society for Krsna consciousness. This may be astonishing to foolish critics, but it is one of the functions of a Krsna conscious society
- It may also be noted that the beggars who should be maintained by the householders are not professional beggars, but sannyasis and brahmanas, to whom the householders should supply food and clothing
- It may be questioned why devotees of Krsna should be attacked by dizziness, which is usually considered a sign of the modes of ignorance
- It may be said that a doorman's duty is to determine who should be allowed to enter the palace and who should not. But that is not relevant in this matter
- It seems strange that Krsna, as the Supreme, should be attracted by anyone's love. A man searches after the love of a woman because he is imperfect - he lacks something - CC Intro

- It should be known that the illusory energy is also an energy of the Lord because nothing can exist without the Lord

- It should be noted that by such sincere association of the Bhagavatas one is sure to receive transcendental knowledge very easily, with the result that he becomes fixed in the devotional service of the Lord
- It should be noted that progressive development along the transcendental mystic path is not totally identical with ordinary material progress
- It should be noted that Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu never acknowledged the stereotyped caste system by birthright; rather, He strictly followed the verdict of the sastras in the matter of one's svarupa, or real identity
- It should be noted that such worldliness cannot continue for long because, by the grace of the Lord, such imperfections will come to an end very shortly. Therefore the path of devotional service is the only right path

J

- Just like Lord Nityananda, He was injured, but still He delivered Jagai-Madhai. That should be your principle. Sometimes we have to cheat, sometimes we have to be injured - so many things. The only device is how people can become Krsna conscious
- Just like that Maharishi came in your country. He wanted to give some private mantra. If that mantra has any power, why it should be private?
