- One who writes about the Supreme Personality of Godhead must be especially favored by the Lord. Simply by academic qualifications it is not possible to write such literature

- Only the devotee, or he who is in personal touch with the Supreme Lord, enters into the Vaikuntha planets. The Lord further adds that of this "there is no doubt." This must be believed firmly. BG 1972 Introduction
- Ordinary person must be physically engaged. That is not physical, that is also transcendental. Always busy in some business of Krsna consciousness
- Original purpose of the text must be maintained
- Our activities must be so transcendentally saturated that the Lord will be kind enough to look upon us favorably and engage us in His transcendental service; then only can the senses be satisfied completely and be no longer troubled by material attraction
- Our culture is faultless, this must be understood
- Our disease is desire for that which is material; even while advancing in spiritual life, we want material acclaim. One must be freed from this disease. Pure devotion must be anyabhilasita-sunyam without desire for anything material
- Our existence is now polluted, and it must be purified (sattvam suddhyet). The human life is meant for this purification, not for thinking of happiness in terms of the external body, which is the cause of material bondage
- Our experience is that such big men will not help us - except if there is some rare soul like Mr. George Harrison, and they must be guided also by our personally contacting them again and again and slowly build-up the relationship
- Our initiated members must be in the majority, and if any deed has to be prepared then I shall send you the wordings. If not, verbally is all right. If they want to make any documents, that must be approved by me
- Our Krsna consciousness movement is to become intelligent, not to remain mudhas, and to expose these rascal mudhas. That's this, our Krsna consciousness movement. So you must be prepared

- Our preaching must be based upon the subject matter from books and nothing outside of them

- Our propaganda is opening temples, and you are closing them. We are not for closing but for increasing. I do not approve of this. If possible the Edinburgh temple must be re-opened again
- Our standard of purity must be kept, otherwise there will be loss of spiritual strength, and subsequent fall down
- Our temple in Vrindaban must be managed expertly that everyone who comes is given carana amrita and prasadam of the Deity
- Our temple in Vrindaban must be managed expertly that everyone who comes is given caranamrta and prasadam of the Deity
- Outdoor kirtana must be done, even at the cost of suspending all editorial work. That is your first and foremost business. Temple worship is not so important. If need be, the whole temple can be locked, but the outdoor kirtana cannot be stopped
P

- Prescribed duties must be performed with this (BG 18.9) mentality. One should act without attachment for the result; he should be disassociated from the modes of work. BG 1972 purports
- Progressive human civilization is based on brahminical culture, God consciousness and protection of cows. All economic development of the state by trade, commerce, agriculture and industries must be fully utilized in relation to the above principles
- Proper understanding of the ultimate purport of the Vedas is called Vedanta knowledge. Such knowledge, as given in the aphorisms of the Vedanta-sutra, must be supported by the Upanisads
- Public leader, he must be also above suspicion. Brahmin means priest also. He must be above suspicion. And the king must be above suspicion. Then things will go on. But there is no such restriction
- Public must be educated so that they may not elect another big dog or big camel or big ass to the exalted post. It is the public's fault

- Regarding Macmillan publishing Srimad Bhagavatam if this is so, then the introductory portion about Lord Chaitanya must be included also

- Regarding our Indian centers, it is already decided that in Bombay we must have a center first and negotiation is going on seriously. If we cannot open many centers in India, at least one center must be opened in Bombay before we go back to the States
- Regarding press matters, whatever you GBC men decide amongst yourselves I have no objection, but economically the press operation must be sound

- Religious principles aim at learning how to render transcendental loving service to the Lord. That service must be unmotivated and unchecked by material conditions. Then human society will be happy in all respects

- Respect cannot be demanded. It must be commanded
- Retirement must be compulsory, so that foolish old men will no longer disturb the peaceful progress of spiritual culture
- Rules and regulation must be established on philosophy. Otherwise it is sentiment, defective. Religion without philosophy is sentiment, and philosophy without religion is mental speculation. They should be combined, philosophy and religion
- Rules and regulations must be followed very strictly. Simply to make a show of gymnastics is not perfection of yoga. Yoga means control of the senses. If you indulge your senses unrestrictedly but make a show of yoga practice, you will never be successful
S
- Sadhu means those who are well behaved in Krsna consciousness, not upstarts. They are called sadhu. So those who are living in this temple, they must be strictly very well behaved

- Salilaih refers to any water - whatever is available - but it must be very clear and collected purely. That water can be used

- Sometimes people disbelieve these descriptions of hell, but whether one believes or not, everything must be carried out by the laws of nature, which no one can avoid
