- Pleasure means that there must be others, and therefore Krsna, the Absolute Truth, who is always engaged in enjoying Himself, has become many

- Real goodness is in the transcendental world. Here in the material world, the quality of goodness is not pure. Goodness may exist, but there must also be some tinges of passion and ignorance

- There are two sankhyas - theistic and atheistic. The Sanskrit in the Visnu Purana is even easier than in Raghu-vamsa. Yes, Bhagavad-gita As It Is should be studied from the beginning. There must be study from my books also

- There must be a good government to see that the citizens are actually executing their religious rituals, and thieves and rogues must be curbed. When this is done the people can advance peacefully in spiritual consciousness and make their lives successful
- There must be a standard of dealing, and there must be a result out of that. This is called Bhagavata-dharma. You must know what is your position, you must know what is God, and you must know what is your relationship with God
- There must be a standard of peace which will be applicable to everyone. That is real peace. We are talking of that peace

- There must be bhakti. And what kind of bhakti? Not sentiment, but sruta-grhitaya, taking, accepting bhakti, the devotional path, after being completely aware of the spiritual science
- There must be brahmanas who are independent. Canakya Pandita, whose name is still, still celebrated, he was prime minister of Maharaja Candragupta, but he was not accepting a single paisa as salary
- There must be classification. Not that everyone is the same, everyone on the same level. Everyone on the same level means sudra, no knowledge. No knowledge, no philosophy, no culture, simply eat, sleep and . . . animals' life
- There must be compulsory marriage of young boys and girls attaining twenty-four years of age and sixteen years of age respectively
- There must be distinction, some higher class, some middle class, some lower class. Even in European countries, there are, in America there are, so are in India. So it is not very astonishing
- There must be engagement, proper engagement. If the engagement is not Krsna consciousness, then this so-called sannyasa will be failure

- There must be ideal, first-class men to act as advisors, second-class men to act as administrators, third-class men to produce food and protect cows, and fourth-class men who obey the three higher classes of society
- There must be intelligent class of men, brahmin. They are called intelligent class of men. Catur-varnyam maya srstam (BG 4.13). The society must be divided into four classes for cooperation
- There must be intelligent class of men, there must be martial spirit, administrative class of men, there must be business minded men. There must be sudras, they do not know anything, they want to serve only, master
- There must be ksatriyas to rule the country very nicely according to the injunctions of the sastras, and there must be vaisyas who can protect the cows

- There must be one leader. The supreme leader is Krsna. Leader of the leader

- There must be one supreme source. That is God. Simple to understand. Is it very difficult to understand? The supreme cause, He is God
- There must be positive engagement. Without positive engagement, the highest perfectional stage cannot be attained

- There must be some body; it is quite reasonable. But these rascals have no brain to understand that there is life after death. Big, big professors in European countries, they do not believe transmigration of the soul
- There must be some duty. What then is the duty for a sannyasi, for one who has renounced family life and no longer has material obligations
- There must be some proprietor. So who is that proprietor? Krsna says, "I am the proprietor." You have to know it, whether Krsna is not proprietor. He says, "I am proprietor," but if you are doubtful, prove that He is not proprietor. That you cannot do
- There must be some relation. Without relationship one cannot exist because he is part and parcel. Just like persons in the prison house. They are not out of government. There is relationship with the government, but that is indirect
- There must be some standard to distinguish between duskrti - an evil doer and sukrti - a virtuous man
- There must be something origin. That is consciousness. Not that asatyam: "There is no origin." What is the nonsense? This is not human consciousness
- There must be speaker system, and there must be good publicity beforehand so that many may know of us and come. This is very important
- There must be such management and or such arrangement that we must have always good association for advancement. That is required
- There must be the administrative and protective class, the farming and mercantile class, and the laboring class. This is all given in the Bhagavad-gita: brahmana, ksatriya, vaisya, sudra

- They (third-class men) want to be diseased. They want to be criminals. So there must be some department for them. Just like Monte Carlo. So this is a facility for the living entities, for the slight independence which has been given by God to them
- They are doing also the same thing, whole day and night, working hard simply for sense gratification. So therefore in the human society there must be a system of division. That is called varnasrama-dharma. That is Vedic civilization
- They are not paid dancer, but why they are dancing? There must be feeling. This is practical. They are feeling pratyaksavagamam
- They knew very well that even though their father committed a mistake (Brahma was sexually inclined to his own daughter), there must have been some great purpose behind the show, otherwise such a great personality could not have committed such a mistake

- Two things must be there—jnana and vairagya. I have already explained that actually our aim of life, human life, is to acquire knowledge and vairagya. Simply talking of knowledge is useless. There must be vairagya also

- We are all anandamaya, joyful. Therefore there must be varieties. Without varieties, there is no joy. Simply hackneyed, one thing, "Brahman, Brahman, Brahman," nobody likes it

- We are, like you, the good public leaders of your nation, interested in material improvement, but also there must be spiritual improvement as well
- We can attract people by some gorgeous show, but inside there must be strict purity and seriousness, otherwise, we shall be attracted by the gorgeous show only
- We can understand that liberation is not the final word in perfection. There must be activities in liberation. Sanatana clearly says, "You (Lord Caitanya) have saved me from the material existence. Now, after liberation, what is my duty?"
- We cannot neglect any department. There must be all the departments, and they must be cooperative and healthy. So this movement is meant for that purpose
- We don't say that you go on with all nonsense, at the same time you become spiritually advanced. We don't talk all this nonsense. There must be practical exhibition that one is advanced in spiritual consciousness
- We don't simply say, "No illicit sex," "No intoxication," and so on. Mere negativity has no meaning; there must be something positive, because everyone wants engagement. That is because we are living entities, not dead stones

- We have no brain, we are all not very intelligent. But we can understand if there is the active principle soul within this body, there must be a Supersoul within this huge structure of body
- We have to deal with all these rascals and fools, so there must be hard labor. Because we are servant of Krsna, we have to execute the order of Krsna. That is our business. Success or failure, that's not our business

- What is the purpose of creation? There must be some plan. When you manufacture something, do something, there must be plan. So what is the plan behind this cosmic manifestation
- When one becomes unnecessarily powerful, disturbs the world situation, he's a burden. He's a burden. That kind of burden is vanquished by Krsna's desire, will. There must be some catastrophe like war, pestilence, famine, and everything will be finished
- When one does not agree to the religious principle or to the moral principle or any instruction, he is adamant, then there must be fight
- When the kirtana was over, Caitanya Mahaprabhu, who could understand the incident (that Srivasa Thakura's son died), declared - There must have been some calamity in this house
- When the world is overburdened, there must be war, pestilence, famine, epidemics, and so on. This is nature's law
- When there is increase of the number of sinful persons, there must be pollution in the system of religious life. This is the way
- When there is question of hearing, there must be speaking or chanting. So we are speaking and chanting about Krsna. That is bhakti. Simply always be engaged in hearing and chanting about Krsna. Sravanam kirtanam visnoh
- When ultimately I change this body, I shall have to accept another. This simple formula is stated in Bhagavad-gita. Everyone can reflect on it, and there must be scientific research done in this area
