- Generally speaking, conditioned souls are not very intelligent, and therefore they go on suffering without ever inquiring why. We should understand, however, that this suffering is there, and if there is a remedy we must take advantage of it

- Lord Siva smiled when he joked with his wife in that way, for others cannot speak like that. "The Supreme Lord," Siva continued, "is always exalted in His activities, and here is another example of His wonderful influence upon King Citraketu, His devotee
- Lord Siva was sitting in an assembly of great saintly persons and embracing Parvati on his lap with his arm. Citraketu laughed loudly and spoke, within the hearing of Parvati

- Narada Muni had also spoken of a man who is the husband of the prostitute. The Haryasvas understood this as follows. If one becomes the husband of a prostitute, he loses all independence
- Narada Muni was speaking to Vyasadeva, who was morose even after he had compiled all the Vedic literatures. In this connection, Narada Muni advised Srila Vyasadeva to try to attain devotional service and nothing else
- Naturally, when they (the gopis) heard such unkind words, they tried to reply, but in the attempt torrents of tears fell from their eyes. Finally they managed to speak

- O collector of honey, Krsna must be very sorry not to see us gopis. Surely He is afflicted by memories of our pastimes. Therefore He has sent you as a messenger to satisfy us. Do not speak to us
- O gentle reciters, offer such prayers in due course of time, when the qualities of which you have spoken actually manifest themselves in me. The gentle who offer prayers to the SPG do not attribute such qualities to a human being
- O holy brahmana, O sinless one, you have spoken of his daughter, known by the name Devahuti, as the wife of the sage Kardama, the lord of created beings

- Sukadeva Gosvami said: When the supreme, ancient, eternal PG had thus spoken to Bali Maharaja, who is universally accepted as a pure devotee of the Lord and therefore a great soul, Bali Maharaja, his eyes filled with tears, responded as follows
- Sukadeva Gosvami said: When thus rebuked in cruel words, Sarmistha was very angry. Breathing heavily like a serpent and biting her lower lip with her teeth, she spoke to the daughter of Sukracarya as follows

- Take real knowledge. Don't be misled by bluffers who have no authority to speak. And to cheat you . . . Because you are wanting, hankering after something, so so many bluffers, cheaters, they come and cheat you. Don't be cheated

- The power of speaking became manifested from the mouth of Brahma, the ocean from his penis, and low and abominable activities from his anus, the source of all sins
- The power of speaking is called Sarasvati, or the goddess of learning, and the birthplace of the goddess of learning is the mouth of Brahma

- Visvarupa, who was most liberal, spoke to King Indra (Sahasraksa) the secret hymn that protected Indra and conquered the military power of the demons
- Vyasadeva is the writer of Vedanta philosophy, & he has written a comment personally, so that in future, rascals may not misrepresent Vedanta. There are so many bhasyas, but that is not commentary. Real commentary. The author knows what he wants to speak

- We actually see that in Kali-yuga, Bhagavan has appeared in pita-varna, or a yellow color, as Gaurasundara, although the Bhagavatam speaks of krsna-varnam
- We all respectfully want to hear about him (Maharaja Pariksit) to whom Sukadeva Gosvami imparted transcendental knowledge. Please speak on this matter
- We approach guru for hearing from him the truth. Just like child listens from the parents and he learns to speak, he learns to know what is what. The father says, "This is dish"; the child also says: This is dish

- What to speak of those who are under the direction of the great devotees, chanting the holy name of the Unlimited, who has unlimited potency? The Personality of God, unlimited in potency and transcendental by attributes, is called the ananta (Unlimited)
- Whatever a brahmana speaks cannot be changed. It must act. The learned sages who were priests at Maharaja Nabhi's sacrifice were not only brahmanas but were so qualified that they were like devas, demigods, or God Himself
- Whatever a brahmana speaks cannot be nullified or changed in any circumstance
- Whatever I (Ramananda Raya) speak is personally spoken by Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Like a stringed instrument, I vibrate whatever He causes me to speak

- Whatever we speak or hear we shall later contemplate or meditate upon. First one must begin with sravanam, hearing, otherwise how can there be meditation
