- A devotee is happy even in this life because although in material existence we have many needs, all his material needs are satisfied, and when he at last quits his body, he goes back home, back to Godhead, without a doubt
- A devotee means, real devotee means, he has no purpose for material gain. That is real devotee. Now we have to see what kind of devotee he is. There are two kinds of devotees: with purpose and without purpose
- A devotee sees that how Krsna, Kesava, is cheating these rascals. The devotee can understand. But the demons, they think, "Oh, we have got a nice leader. He does not believe in God"
- A frog lives within the well, he's calculating the length & breadth of Atlantic Ocean. How it is possible? We are the frogs in the well. We have got limited capacity to understand. Our senses are limited. We are thinking Krsna, or God, He is also limited
- A laymans sentimental expression about religious problems is not a practical understanding of religious problems. Religion as we have explained means the orders of God, therefore it must be scientifically studied
- A spirit soul, being part and parcel of the Supreme Lord, he is by nature very powerful. We do not know how much spiritual power we have got, but that is being suppressed by the material covering
- Abhadra means the nasty things which we have accumulated within our heart since time immemorial. The beginning is that, "I am this body," this conception. This is animal conception - I am this body
- Abhadra. We have got so many dirty things within our heart. So these dirty things can be cleansed simply by Krsna consciousness. There is no other method
- Absolute - means that Krsna's name, form, place, dress, pastimes and everything are nondifferent from Him. Krsna is present in His name, but because we have no love for Him, we cannot see Him
- According to our human society, the youthful life begins at sixteen years. So Krsna is like that. He'll look always sixteen to twenty years old, not more than that. We have never seen Krsna has become old
- According to such (materialistic) leaders, the material body is the actual self, understanding everything that pertains to the body constitutes self-realization, & we have no more duty than satisfying the senses of the body & maintaining it by all means
- According to the modes of nature, we have got different conception of life and different consciousness. That is called material life. All of us, we are sitting here, every one of us has got a different consciousness

- And what is the main business of material nature? Just to beat you with shoes. That is nature. Therefore we are suffering in this material world. Because we have taken shelter of the material nature
- Animal has no capacity to understand Vedic knowledge or the BG. Even though we have got the intelligence, if you do not utilize it to understand the instruction in the BG & Vedic knowledge, then purposefully we keep ourself within the category of animals
- Animal society, they do not know what is freedom. Ours also, the so-called freedom. But still, we have got some consciousness that we fight for freedom. And they fight for eating. That's all
- Another gopi said, "Dear Krsna, actually we have become very lusty, having been touched by Your lotus feet. Your lotus feet certainly kill all kinds of sinful activities of devotees who have taken shelter there"
- Any other religion is not religion. That is bogus. We have concocted so many religious principles, but real religion is which teaches to surrender to God, to love God. That is real religion
- Any stage of life in Krishna consciousness may be a victim of strong material energy. Therefore we have always to take care and strictly follow the rules and regulations. You are a good boy and sincere devotee and I hope you will understand me right

- Bahunam janmanam ante (BG 7.19). We have received this body through the evolutionary processes, and this human form is a great opportunity. Narottama dasa Thakura sings: hari hari viphale janama gonainu - My dear Lord Krsna, I have simply wasted my time
- Because He (God) is a person, He has many personal qualities, although He is transcendental to the material modes. We have already discussed the statement, ittham-bhuta-guno harih - SB 1.7.10
- Because Krsna was taking special care of the Pandavas, King Yudhisthira said, "My dear Krsna, we do not know what sort of pious activities we have executed in our past lives that have made You so kind and gracious to us"
- Because Mayavadis have understood what is the difference between spirit and matter, it does not mean that knowledge is perfect. They are thinking, "Now we have understood what is spirit and what... Therefore we are liberated"
- Because of our ignorance of the spiritual body, of which we have no experience, we do not know of the activities of the spiritual body, and in ignorance we jump from one false platform to another

- Because we are now in the material world, we have got the propensity to enjoy, to exploit the resources of material nature. Krsna has given us the opportunity
- Because we are part and parcel of God, we have all the instincts of God in minute quantity. The sex play and sex life which we see in the material world is but the perverted reflection of the love that is found in the spiritual world
- Because we are part and parcel of God, we have got all the qualities of God. But because we are minute part and particle of God, therefore all the qualities of God are there in minute particle
- Because we are part and parcel of Krsna we have got the same quality. So you see Krsna, He is enjoying with the gopis, with the cowherd boys, friends, in Vrndavana, in the forest, with cows, with calves. This is enjoyment - variety
- Because we are part and parcel of Krsna, our only duty is to serve Krsna. There is no other duty. Therefore Krsna demands, sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja (BG 18.66). We have no other duty; just to serve Krsna
- Because we are spiritual beings. That I was trying to explain. That we have bodily necessities, at the same time we have spiritual necessities. This Western civilization, they are simply after the bodily necessities

- Because we have got blunt material senses, we cannot understand what is Krsna, what is Krsna's service; atah sri-krsna-namadi . . . what is Krsna's chanting of name. We are thinking that this is chanting, just like we chant so many vibrations
- Because we have got the circumstances, because we have got unclean body, therefore there is birth and death. Just like as soon as you are infected, there is fever, similarly, the birth and death is a kind of disease. It is also listed with disease
- Because we have got this body, we suffer the pains of cold and heat. This is only one example. It is given in the Bhagavad-gita, matra-sparsas tu kaunteya sitosna-sukha-duhkha-dah. Sita means cold. Just like in winter we suffer. In summer also, we suffer
- Because we have got varieties of desires, we dress ourselves in different fashionable clothes. So this varieties of life mean they have different desires, and Krsna is fulfilling their desires. Ye yatha mam prapadyante
- Because we have got very limited knowledge. Atmavat manyate jagat. The same Dr. Frog. Dr. Frog is calculating in his own way, and he is puzzled how there can be an Atlantic Ocean or Pacific Ocean. Because he has never experienced, he has no idea
- Because we have indulged this tongue to increase his greediness, therefore we see so much advertisement of liquor and cigarettes and so many, or teas and coffee. Simply it is practice
- Because we have material bodies, we take on so many designations; thus we call ourselves a man, a parent, an American, a Christian, Hindu, etc. These designations should be abandoned if we at all want to become free

- Being a mahatma does not mean that one wears a big beard and a particular type of dress. No, this awareness must be there. Whatever we have should be offered to Krsna
- Being contaminated by Kali-yuga, however, we are unfortunate and therefore we have no attraction to the holy names of Krsna

- Bhagavan says, mayy asakta, mayi asakta. Therefore if you become attached... We have got attachment for so many things. But if we transfer that attachment to Krsna, then, Krsna says, mayy asakta-manah partha yogam yunjan mad-asrayah
- Bhaktivinoda Thakura's wife became very much disturbed that, "You arrested Visnu, and we are all going to die. We have got now high fever." Bhaktivinoda Thakura replied, "Yes, let us all die, but this rascal must be punished."
- Bhaya means "to become afraid of." That is material nature. We are always afraid of. Therefore we have military strength. Your country is very busy in that way, how to protect. Everyone should be, protection
- Bird will go to a tree and eat fruit, but not more than he requires; neither he will take the fruit at his home to stock for next day or making black market. We have created this nonsense situation by claiming God's property as ours. This is the mistake
- Bird, beast, insect, fish - everywhere the same struggle: "Where is food? Where is sex? Where is shelter? How to defend?" So the sastra (scripture) says we have done these things in many, many past lives
- Birth, death, old age, disease, the real problems of life. It does not mean that because we have advanced in so-called material civilization, you have avoided birth, death

- Caitanya-caritamrta (CC Adi 5.142): "Lord Krsna alone is the supreme controller, and all others are His servants. They dance as He makes them do so." We are all servants of Krsna; we have no independence
- Caitanya-caritamrta is the higher studies. Still, we have got all these books, very exalted, authorized books, Bhagavad-gita, Srimad-Bhagavatam, Caitanya-caritamrta, Nectar of Devotion
- Canura continued, "We have heard that Your arms are very strong. The King and all the people present here desire to see a display of Your wrestling abilities. A citizen should be obedient and please the mind of the ruling king"
- Canura continued, "You (Krsna and Balarama) are cowherd boys, and we have heard that while tending Your cows in the forest, You enjoy wrestling with each other"
- Children, they're allowed to play, but under certain condition. So we all, we are all children of God, Krsna. So we have come here to enjoy, to lord it over the material nature. That is the tendency. So Krsna has given us the facility
- Cit means knowledge. So in this material body we have no knowledge. Even if we have got . . . now imperfect knowledge, limited knowledge. But in the spiritual life you have got full knowledge. That is spiritual life
- Countless universes reside like seeds within the skin pores of Maha-Visnu & when He exhales, they all are manifest. In the material world we have no experience of such a thing, but we do experience a perverted reflection in the phenomenon of perspiration
- Cow dung - we have discussed this point many times - where it is impure, that it makes pure

- Dear Krsna, we have simply surrendered ourselves as Your maidservants, for we have seen Your beautiful face decorated with tresses of hair, Your earrings falling upon Your cheeks, the nectar of Your lips, and the beauty of Your smile
- Dharma means the codes or the law given by God. That is dharma. And our life is meant for dharma. Dharma. But unfortunately we have created so many dharmas. But there cannot be so many dharmas. There cannot be
- Dharma, occupational duty, there are two kinds of occupational duties according to Vedic system, pravrtti and nivrtti. Pravrtti means propensities, material propensities. We have come here within this material world to enjoy material resources
- Do not tell Krsna what I (Radharani) have said, although I know that you (bumblebee) are very envious. We gopis have given up our husbands, sons & all the religious principles that promise better births, now we have no business other than serving Krsna
- Does it mean that we are offering our obeisances to a metal doll? We have become so fool? No. We take it, - Here is Krsna personally standing
- Dog has no shame. It can enjoy sex on the street, but we have got some restriction, but the sex is there
- Don't spend your hard-earned money for sense gratification. Then one may say that "After all, we have got this body, and we have to eat, we have to sleep. And because we have got senses, the senses must be a little bit satisfied." No
- Don't take that Radharani is an ordinary woman, like we have our wife or sister or mother. No. She is the pleasure potency. And the birth of Radharani was not from the womb of any human being. She was found by Her father in the field
- Due to our material association since time immemorial, we have accumulated heaps of dirty things in our minds. The total effect of this takes place when a living entity identifies himself with his body
- Due to the age of quarrel, Kali, which we have discussed, there is always a chance of quarrel on slight provocation. This is due not to the issue in question, but to the polluted atmosphere of this age
- Duh means very difficult, and puram means satisfaction. Duspuram. We have taken shelter of lusty desires which will never be satisfied. This is our position. Kamam asritya duspuram
- Duhkhalayam means the place of miseries. We are thinking that we have made a paradise, but actually the place is miserable, because the threefold miseries, they are there

- Each one of us, we are part and parcel of God. So we have got some duty. Just like the part and parcel of my body has got some duty. The eyes, his duty is to see. The ear, his duty is to hear
- Eating is not in itself the cause of the vital energy of life. For digestion of eatables we have to take shelter of another, superior energy, which is mentioned in the Bhagavad-gita as vaisvanara
- Eating, sleeping, mating and defending, that is given special stress, but not to the point of, goal of life, reaching Visnu. That we have neglected
- Economy will not suffer, but economy will be simplified because we have made some artificial economy. Actually, in the Bhagavad-gita we find the economic problem is solved by producing food grains
- Education means to enquire about the living force which is moving this body. That is education. This is not education, that we have manufactured nice car or nice machine. That is called craftsmanship
- Entangled means for one resultant action we are now, we have got this body. Again we are going to take another material body. So this is a chain of birth and death
- Essentially what Rsabhadeva is saying is that a life of sense gratification is meant for stool eaters like hogs, and now that we have a higher form of life, we should not try to imitate the lower forms
- Eternally conditioned means we do not know when we have been conditioned like this. It is not possible to trace out the history
- Even children fight, cats and dogs fight, birds fight, ants fight. We have seen it. So why not human being? The fighting spirit is there
- Even in our daily life, so many things come and go in which we have no hand, but we have to suffer or tolerate them without remedial measure. That is the result of time
- Even in our rebellious condition we get all our necessities from Him (the Lord), such as food, air, light, water, warmth, and coolness. Yet because we have detached ourselves from Him, we simply mismanage this paternal property
- Even though we have been attempting to introduce Him for only a few years, still, because it is reality, Krsna consciousness is being accepted
- Even though we have got the intelligence if do not utilize it to understand the instruction in the Bhagavad-gita and Vedic knowledge, then purposefully we keep ourself within the category of animals
- Even though we have our wonderful eyes, we cannot see things in their true perspective. What is true for the eyes is also true for the other senses we use for gathering knowledge
- Every one of us is kuyogi because we have engaged in the service of this material world, forgetting our eternal relationship with the Lord as His eternal loving servants. It is our duty to rise from the kuyoga platform to become suyogis, perfect mystics
- Every one of us, because we have got different types of body according to my desire, we are acting differently. So if we come back again to the spiritual platform, then we will not work differently. We shall work concomitantly

- Everything belongs to the Supreme, and therefore one should not usurp another's property. We have a tendency to manufacture many things. Especially nowadays, we are building skyscrapers and developing other material facilities
- Everything is complete in this world. There is no scarcity. We have simply created scarcity by our mismanagement. But if we take up the laws as they are prescribed in the scriptures and live peacefully, there is no scarcity
- Everything is done by His (God's) energies in a natural way, with full knowledge and complete perfection. That is the information we have from the Vedic literatures
- Everything is there. Especially in India, we have got so much asset for understanding God. Simple thing. Everything is there ready made. But we won't accept
- Everywhere we have got good devotees. Krishna consciousness is dormant in everyone and we can awaken it in them

- Father-mother takes care of the children, how to give them foodstuffs. We have seen Mother Yasoda is feeding Krsna. Same thing. This is the difference. We are feeding ordinary child, which is done by cats and dogs also, but Mother Yasoda is feeding Krsna
- Finally in Kali-yuga (the yuga we have now been experiencing over the past 5,000 years) there is an abundance of strife, ignorance, irreligion and vice, true virtue being practically nonexistent, and this yuga lasts 432,000 years. BG 1972 purports
- First of all, however, we have no attraction for hearing about Krsna, and this is the root cause of our suffering
- For our past karma, we have created this body and we are suffering. Therefore our mission should be not to create another body. And finish all suffering in this body and do not create another material body - that is actually our duty
- For the neophytes it is necessary to know about Krsna. Because we have no love, so if we understand that Krsna is so great, then gradually we can love Him
- For the persons with poor fund of knowledge, they may not find out Krsna's name. But in the sastra we have got thousands of name, visnu-sahasra-nama

- Formerly, horses were drawing carriages and there was no air pollution, but now there are cars and rockets, and the scientists are very proud. "We have invented horseless carriages and wingless birds," they boast
- From the Sixth Canto we have already learned that when the Visnudutas came from Vaikuntha to deliver Ajamila, they looked exactly like Visnu, with four hands and the same features as Visnu
- From the talk of the people in general, we have guessed that the Lord is now at the house of Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya
- From this description (SB 3.8.15) we have the conception of three - the gross virat form, the subtle Hiranyagarbha and the material creative force, Brahma

- Generally the seasonal changes are accepted as Satya-yuga, Treta-yuga, Dvapara-yuga and Kali-yuga. Just like in each year we have got different seasons, changes, similarly, each millennium there are so many changes of Kali-yuga, Dvapara-yuga, Satya-yuga
- God does not discriminate, but so long as we have got forms we have to discriminate
- God expanded into many, and we constitute those expansions. God is one without a second, but He willed to become many in order to enjoy. We have experience that there is little or no enjoyment in sitting alone in a room talking to oneself
- God is equally kind, equally merciful, but we fight. We, disagree in religious principle. That is due to Kali. Not this Kali. Kali means due to our fighting spirit. It is not God. God is equal to everyone. We fight because we have got misconception
- God is eternally existing. That is the fact. We cannot understand that. Because we are in the material world, we have no experience of the eternity, what is eternity. We have no experience
- God is good, so we are also good. But we have become bad under circumstances. Just like under infection, one becomes diseased. So if we cure that infection, again he becomes good. So it is the curing process
- God is joyful, and we are part and parcel of God; we are by nature joyful. But by freaks of nature, because we are prone to be allured by the illusory nature, we have come to this material world; therefore, we are suffering. Enjoyment is our birthright
- God is unborn; this indicates that He is different from this material world because in the material world we have no experience that anyone is unborn. Everyone is born. Not only everyone, everything is born
- God is vibhu, the greatest, and we are the smallest. God is infinite, we are finite, infinitesimal. That is the difference. Otherwise everything is there, as we have go
- God's creation is so vast, you cannot estimate even what is the length and breadth of this universe. It is not possible. We have got information four millions of miles. And where is sun situated? Everything is there. So how it is?
- Gopis addressed Krsna as follows: "In fact, we have seen that in Vrndavana even the cows, the deer, the birds, the trees - everyone - has been enchanted by the sweet vibration of Your flute and the fascinating beauty of Your person"
- Gopis said, "If only He would come here and accept these garlands we have made. Dear Lord Balarama, descendant of Dasarha, You know that we would give up everything for Krsna's friendship"
- Gopis said, "We have all left our husbands, relatives, brothers and friends and have simply come to You, being captivated by the sound of Your (Krsna's) transcendental flute"
- Gopis said, "We have seen the footprints of Krsna & Radha, & they are giving us great pain, because Krsna is everything to us. But that girl is so cunning that She has taken Him away alone and is enjoying His kissing without sharing Him with us"
- Gopsi said, "O infallible one (Krsna), You had better know what is the reason for our coming here. In plain words, we are here simply because we have been captivated by the sweet sound of Your flute"
- Grains are offered, fruits are offered in the fire sacrifice. It is through the fire. So as the part and parcel of Krsna, we have got little fire; we eat through that
- Guna means this quality, and another meaning of guna is rope. Just like we have seen rope, one rope, two rope, three ropes. When three ropes are, I mean to say, bound up, twisted in one, oh, that becomes very strong

- He (Krsna) has given us little independence because we are part and parcel of Krsna. Krsna is fully independent. He does not depend on anyone. But although we have got independence to a certain extent, but under the control of maya
- He (Prahlada Maharaja) says that we have created so many unnecessary things and become entangled by them. In the beginning of SB it is stated that we should desire to get out of this unnecessary trouble and to be free from the problems which are created
- He (Prahlada Maharaja) says to his friends that this Krsna consciousness is easy to attain. Why? Krsna consciousness is actually very dear to us, but we have forgotten it
- He (Sankaracarya) propagated the Mayavada philosophy under the order of the Supreme Lord. We have already discussed this point in text 114 of this chapter: tanra dosa nahi, tenho ajna-kari dasa
- He (the conditioned soul) does not know that all such renderings of service are totally illusory. As we have discussed many times before, this material world is itself an illusion, like a mirage in the desert
- He can persuade his followers to falsely imitate the rasa dance, but he is unable to lift Govardhana Hill. We have many experiences in the past of Mayavadi rascals who delude their followers by posing themselves as Krsna in order to enjoy rasa-lila
- He is one of the chief secretaries of the government, and he is such a fool. He is taking this movement (Krsna Consciousness) as a religious movement, just as we have so many sentimental religions. But this is not sentimental
- He must be very serious: "Yes, if there is God... We have seen, we have been informed about God. So I must see." There is a story in this connection. It is very instructive; try to hear
- Here (In the material world) we have a very loving son or child, but the father and mother, or those who are affectionate towards him, always hope, "May my son not die." But Krsna actually never will die
- Here in the material world we have practical experience that a superior person is worshiped by an inferior one
- Here the pleasure is like that, "You eat rasagulla and then be beaten by shoes." Perhaps we have got all experience of this. But actual ananda is brahmananda, unlimited
- Here we have got experience of the material ocean; it does not increase. On the other hand, gradually it is decreasing
- Here we have got one quality, that fear, always fearing. Just like we are having these railings, why? We are afraid, we may not be attacked. The material life means ahara-nidra-bhaya-maithunam ca. We must eat, we must sleep, and we must be afraid
- Here we have got that taste of rasa in a perverted manner. But cinmaya-rasa means it continues. This Radha-Krsna with the gopis, they are enjoying, dancing, chanting. That is eternally; that is never stopped
- Here you can take some fruits or flower from a particular tree, but there, if you like, you ask kachori and samosa from a tree -- you get. But we have no idea what is surataroh, what is kalpa-vrksa. Whatever you desire, you'll get it
- How can we understand that it (consciousness) is there? We can understand the supreme consciousness and our individual consciousness simply by perception of blissfulness. Because we have consciousness, we can feel ananda, or pleasure
- How many common men have written their autobiographies, and how enthusiastically we have read and accepted them. But when the Personality of Godhead Himself tells about Himself, we cannot take it as it is. This is nothing but our misfortune
- Hrdy antah sthah means the contaminations which we have accumulated within our heart, that will be washed off. That will be washed off so that your heart will be cleansed of all rubbish things
- Hrsikesa is the master of senses, Krsna. So in our present condition we have forgotten our master of senses but we have taken senses as our master, this is our position
- Human civilization means we have got so many animal propensities, and if we can control them, that is advancement of human civilization. Just try to understand
- Human civilization, is falling in the fire of illusory maya, fut! fut! fut! fut! fut! and again and again. Bhutva bhutva praliyate (BG 8.19). Once takes birth, one again dies, again suffers. But we have no brain, mudha. Therefore is called mudha
- Humbler than the grass and tolerant more than the tree. We have to give all respect to everyone

- I am preaching especially in foreign countries, all over Europe, America, Japan, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, etc. I have introduced this sankirtana movement, and now we have centers around the world
- I am trying to enjoy. This is material world. We have forgotten that we are part and parcel of Krsna. Our business is not to enjoy but to help Krsna to enjoy. That is our business, part and parcel
- I have got a sister. She is three years younger than me. So sometimes I chastise her like anything, because we have the same feeling. She is younger. Seventy-seven years, younger sister. But the feeling is there, younger

- I will have to accept another body. That we have got experience daily, in day and night. When we sleep at night, although we have got this body lying on my bed, I accept another body, subtle body, and I go to another place and dream

- If Krsna says "Go away," we shall go away, what is that? Why so much legal implication? Everywhere, although we have got big, big buildings, I don't think we own it. It is Krsna's
- If one accepts Bhagavad-gita as a great book of knowledge, he is also accepting Krsna. There is no doubt that the Supreme Absolute Truth is Krsna and that we have our eternal relationship with Him
- If one can understand oneself and the Supreme Self and what is this material world, why we have come here, what is my relation with God, what is my relation with this world, this is knowledge. They are called jnanavan
- If one gets something superior, he naturally gives up all inferior things. We want enjoyment, but impersonalism and voidism have created such an atmosphere that we have become addicted to material enjoyment
- If our family has given charity to the proper persons, if we have performed ritualistic ceremonies and sacrifices I wish, in exchange, that this brahmana be freed from the burning caused by the Sudarsana cakra
- If somebody says that "I am supreme God," or "supreme controller," then we have got objection. Supreme means he has no controller. And ordinary controller, just like we are . . . you are controller
- If somebody wants to create, then at once we shall call him a fool. We have got test tube. Very boldly we shall say. Now let them prove that he can create
- If there is little pain in the finger, I become so much disturbed because I have got intimate connection with this finger. Similarly, we have got intimate connection with Krsna, and we are fallen. Therefore Krsna also feels little pain
- If there is no family attraction, there is no regulated life. We have got very good experience of these things. So family attraction required. It is not that it is rejected. It is required for regulated life
- If we actually want to be cured from this diseased condition of repetition of birth, death, old age and disease, we have to abstain from this sinful life. So it is not difficult. It requires little knowledge
- If we do not believe in the scriptures, that is a different question, but if we have faith in the authority of such descriptions, then we must prepare for our freedom in the next life; that is possible in this human form of life
- If we falsely claim that sitting here for one hour or half an hour, we have become proprietor, that is false impression. So one has to understand that we are neither proprietor nor enjoyer. God is the enjoyer, and God is the proprietor
- If we go to live on the moon - assuming it is possible - even with an oxygen mask, how long could we stay? Furthermore, even if we had the opportunity to stay there, what would we gain?
- If we have actually found out a person who is self-realized and we have surrendered there honestly, with enquiry and service, then we must know that our spiritual salvation is guaranteed. Guaranteed. There is no doubt about it
- If we have actually understood our relationship with Krsna, and if we try to serve Him sincerely, then Krsna will give you all facilities. He'll give you intelligence
- If we have got firm faith in guru and firm faith in Krsna - guru-krsna-krpaya paya bhakti-lata-bija (CC Madhya 19.151) - then you get the seedling of bhakti-lata
- If we have got unflinching faith and devotion to the lotus feet of Krsna, then we can automatically become niskincana, liberated, developed in economic condition. That is not important thing for a devotee. They come automatically
- If we have little faith that we require awakening of spiritual consciousness, we should not sleep under the spell of this material consciousness . . . a little faith will help us
- If we have properly carried out our occupational duties, and if we have been guided by learned brahmanas, I wish, in exchange, that this brahmana be freed from the burning caused by the Sudarsana cakra
- If we have some kind of trouble in the stomach from drinking milk, the physician prescribes the same milk in the form of yogurt, which is nothing but treated milk
- If we organize a business, we have many anxieties. The managing director or proprietor of the business particularly has many anxieties
- If we take leadership of Krsna, then our life is perfect; we could properly utilize the utility of human life. Otherwise we have been mislead
- If we take to Krsna consciousness, we become transcendental. We have nothing to do with these seasonal changes, or Kali-yuga. That is recommended
- If we take, if we read Bhagavad-gita in the spirit of understanding like Arjuna, the perfect disciple, and if we accept the advice and the instruction of Krsna, the perfect teacher, then we should know that we have understood Bhagavad-gita
- If we think that we can use whatever wealth we have amassed for our own sense gratification, we are acting out of kama, lust. But if we come to understand that everything we have belongs to Krsna, we are liberated
- If we utilize whatever we have in our possession to understand God, Krsna will prove that He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. If we but accept this one fact, then all of our education is complete
- If you allow people to indulge in sinful life, how you can expect good citizen? That is not possible. Their character must reform. So we have taken from the root. We are making men of character, knowledge, sincerity, God conscious

- Kali-yuga symptom, that position in society, if you want to be respectable man, you somehow or other gather money. Never mind how we have gathered, what is the method. It doesn't matter. Get some money and you become respectable
- Kamasya nendriya, kama. Here it is called kama. Kama means lust. So because we have got this body, therefore we must have some kama. That is a fact. You cannot avoid it
- King Nanda said, "After telling me this, Gargacarya returned home, and since then we have been continually seeing the wonderful activities of this child (Krsna)"

- Krsna abode, the planet which is called Goloka Vrndavana, that has three divisions. As we have got replica on this earth, there is Vrndavana, Mathura, and Dvaraka. Dvaraka is in Gujarat, and Mathura and Vrndavana is in U.P., Uttar Pradesh, near Delhi
- Krsna addressed Balarama, "The two of Us have descended to this earth just to annihilate such unnecessary bellicose forces and give protection to the pious devotees. So we have the opportunity to fulfill Our mission. Please let Us execute it"
- Krsna consciousness is the highest knowledge. So we have heard so many things about this. If there is any doubt about that, I mean to say, statement you can ask me
- Krsna consciousness movement is meant for reviving that lost consciousness. We have lost this consciousness that, I am the part and parcel of Krsna, the supreme blissful enjoyer, but somehow or other, being complicated within this matter, I am suffering
- Krsna consciousness, or devotional service, means purifying the senses. That's all. We haven't got to eradicate, get out of the sensual activities. No. We have simply to purify the senses
- Krsna has advised in the Bhagavad-gita, agamapayino 'nityas tams titiksasva bharata. The so-called distress and happiness, they come and go like seasonal changes. Just like we have got summer season, winter season
- Krsna has got creative power; we have also got creative power. In this way, compare anything. Krsna has got independence, full independence, we have got independence, but not full independence. So that is the difference
- Krsna has got different venues of rendering service. You can serve Krsna in so many ways. We have got three venues: by working, karmana; by thinking, manasa; and by speaking we can do things
- Krsna has got loving propensities with His pleasure potency, Srimati Radharani. Similarly, because we are part and parcel of Krsna, we have also got this loving propensity
- Krsna has got sixty-four good qualities in full, and we are minute particles of Krsna; therefore we have got also those good qualities in minute particles. But these good qualities are now covered
- Krsna has the propensity to love the other sex. Therefore we have got this propensity, to love the other sex. The beginning of love is there in Radha and Krsna, eternal love between Radha and Krsna
- Krsna is complete spiritual, divine, and we are, at the present moment, although we have got our spiritual form within this body, but because we have no vision of the spiritual form, we are taking this body as our form. This is called illusion
- Krsna is full of bliss, full of knowledge, and we are also part and parcel of Krsna. So we have also the same quality, sac-cid-ananda, the spiritual body
- Krsna is fully independent, and because we are part and parcel of Him we also have this quality of independence. Therefore we have a choice as to which energy we will function under
- Krsna is fully independent; therefore we have got the quality of independence. But because we are very small, minute particle, we have got minute particle of independence
- Krsna is here, but because we have no training, we see that it is a stone statue. But He is Krsna. We do not know that Krsna is so kind but because I cannot see Krsna at the present stage of life therefore Krsna has appeared in a form which I can see
- Krsna is living force, we are also living force. Krsna has got creative power; we have got also creative power. Exactly all the qualities. Krsna has got loving propensity; we have got loving propensity
- Krsna is not sectarian God. Krsna, from the name of Krsna... Krsna means, as we have explained above, Krsna means the greatest pleasure
- Krsna is so kind, He is so affectionate, that we have come to enjoy this material world, He is giving us the facilities. Just like the master is giving the facility to the dog. But He wants, Krsna wants that every living entity should be obedient to Him
- Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and we have several times explained that His body is not material, but is eternal, blissful knowledge. This kind of talk about Krsna will help one become a devotee. BG 1972 purports
- Krsna is there in the name, in the form, but because we have no love for Him, we cannot see
- Krsna points out that every soul is individual soul, every soul. And that is our experience, that every one of us, we have got some individual consciousness, not that my consciousness is just equal to your consciousness

- Krsna, as the Supersoul, or Paramatma, knows what is going on in my body, in your body, and in millions and billions of other bodies. Therefore He is the supreme controller. We have our limited energy, but His energy is unlimited
- Krsna, we have already stated, is seated in everyone's heart. If you want to consult Him, He can give you instruction. The only thing is that you have to become qualified like Brahma so that you can received instruction from Him within the heart

- Leader must be there, religious or not religious. Everyone has leader. The Communist has got leader, and the spiritualists, Krsna consciousness, we have also leader. So without leader nothing can be done
- Let Krsna pass any amount of stool and urine. We have nothing to do with that. So let there be external energy
- Like cats, dogs, birds, beasts, we have satisfied our senses in so many life. Why not regulate in one life and go back to home, back to Godhead?

- Maharaja Pariksit is addressed here (in SB 8.5.24) as arindama, "subduer of all enemies." Not only do we have enemies outside of our bodies, but within our bodies there are many enemies, such as lusty desires, anger and greed
- Manu-samhita says, pravrttir esa bhutanam nivrttis tu maha-phala: we have many tendencies in this material world, but in human life one is meant to learn how to curb those tendencies
- Material calculation - this body we have got. When this body will be finished, it is finished forever. It will never come
- Material contamination means desire to enjoy this material world. That is contamination. We have nothing to do with this material world. Brahma-bhutah. You are spirit

- Matter does not work automatically. It requires higher brain, higher manipulation, therefore higher order. Just like in this material world we have got the highest order, the sun, movement of the sun, the heat energy, light energy of the sun
- Maya-sukhaya. Actually this is a fact. We have succeeded in creating a humbug civilization. Every year so many cars are being manufactured, and for that purpose so many roads have to be excavated, prepared and repaired
- Men who have experience only of this tiny planet where the saltwater ocean exists may take information from the revealed scriptures that there is also an ocean of milk, although we have never seen it
- Mind cannot be detached. We have got so many desires. So mind's business - to become attached. Therefore, I accept something, I reject something. This is mind's business. So you cannot become zero, you cannot become desireless. That is not possible
- Mind has got two business: something accepting and rejecting. That's all. So we have to train our mind in such a way that we become simply attached to Krsna
- Miseries means we have got three kinds of miseries: miseries pertaining to the body, pertaining to the mind, and pertaining to other people with whom we have got connection, and pertaining to the nature's disturbance
- Misusing the energy. We have spent ten million by power, gas, going there and coming, so many cars. Another ten million. So all these twelve million, three . . . thirteen million dollars spent for nothing. Dancing like dogs, independence, maya
- Mukti means that we have lost our original, constitutional position. Because here Caitanya Mahaprabhu said that the real position of the living entity is that he is eternal servant of Krsna
- Mukunda Datta replied, "The Lord has already arrived here. We have come with Him"
- My dear Lord, You are the master and the life and soul of Vrndavana. Kindly arrange for the deliverance of Vrndavana. We have no leisure hours away from our many activities

- Narada Muni can approach any planet in unlimited space within no time. We have already discussed his previous life as the son of a maidservant
- Naturally, here in this material world, every one of us, we have come to enjoy. Material life means enjoyment. Enjoyment is not real enjoyment. Real enjoyment is spiritual enjoyment
- Naturally, in our original position we have got all the good qualities of God. Now, due to the material contamination, the godly qualities are now covered
- Nature is still inflicting upon us the miseries of birth, old age, disease and death. Has any one solved these problems? Then what advancement have we really made in knowledge and civilization
- Neither any sinful nor any virtuous act can bring freedom from the bondage of work, as we have explained above. On the contrary, both sinful and virtuous acts will bind the worker up in the wheel of action and reaction
- Nityah sasvato 'yam na hanyate hanyamane sarire (BG 2.20). That is spiritual world. So that spiritual world, we have no information, but we have got little experience. Spiritual world means complete peaceful, santi
- No one wants to grow old; no one wants to die. Indeed, a place free of such sufferings would be our heart's desire. Why do we want this? Because we have the right, the prerogative, to want it
- No poetry, no science, no philosophy, no religion, no culture, no knowledge we have today can be said to be superior to that we find 5,000 years or more ago in India
- Nobody can change them (sruti-smrti-pramana). But these particular rules and regulations in sruti-smrti are for particular times, particular circumstances. So we have to take these rules and regulations. You cannot change them
- Nobody is satisfied. One cannot be satisfied because we are constitutionally servant of God but we have been placed in this material world to serve so many other things which is not fitting
- Nobody wants to be destroyed. But the difficulty is that here everything is destroyed. Asanatana. But we have got a tendency to become sanatana. We want permanent life. We want permanent place. We want permanent relationship
- Not that because you have got tendency, you have to increase it. That is not human civilization. Human civilization means we have got so many animal propensities, and if we can control them, that is advancement of human civilization
- Nothing can be done without surrender because our conditional life is rebellious life. We have rebelled against the supremacy of the Personality of Godhead
- Now it is our ill fate that after the passing away of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura, the exemplar of patita-pavana, we have returned to our lowly, fallen ways
- Now they are coming to the dog's life. A dog, just like street, they have sex life. "This is advancement, that we have become now pure dog. So long it was hidden, now we are open." This is the civilization, animal civilization
- Now we have human bodies, but in the next life we may not have them; we may have something else, better or lower. The type of body is decided by the living entity's superiors
- Now we have manufactured such a nice medicine that cancer or any other disease will not attack us. That is very nice. But find out some medicine that death will not attack you. "Oh, that is not possible." Where is the meaning of your advancement?
- Now we have these material bodies, and it is our duty to cultivate them properly. That cultivation is called karma, or work
- Now you discuss this point, that why we have come to this material world, what is the purpose. These things are mentioned in the Vedas

- Of course, it will not be very palatable to hear, but actually we are all thieves. We have stolen God's property. That is material life. Anyone who has got anything without sense of God, it is to be understood that he has stolen the property
- Of course, so long we have got this material body, we have to take rest, but this rest is also not required, because in the spiritual world there is no such fatigue. Everyone is always active. So that is perfectional stage
- Oh, it is our good luck that we have come again today under Your (Krsna) protection by Your presence, for Your Lordship rarely visits even the denizens of heaven
- On account of the presence of the soul, we have got so much intelligence, we have got so much thoughtful, psychological effect. So many things wonderful they are. But as soon as the soul is not there, everything collapse
- One gopi said, "We are losing our senses in deciding whether we shall continue as chaste women or be victimized by the beauty of Krsna. My dear friend, I think that we have lost all hope of life!"
- One has to learn this, that everything belongs to Krsna. Isavasyam idam sarvam. This is Vedic instruction. We have created trouble because we have forgotten the real proprietor
- One may say that "After all, we have got this body, and we have to eat, we have to sleep. And because we have got senses, the senses must be a little bit satisfied." No. Krsna says, Suta Gosvami says, it is not that you shall stop
- One must be qualified. Varnasrama-vibhagasah. Vibhagasah. There must be division. But people are very much anxious to make classless society, no division. And that is Krsna consciousness society. We have no such division

- One should not foolishly conclude that because the Supreme Personality of Godhead is omnipotent, we have manufactured a combination of letters - a, u and m - to represent Him
- One should not think of Brahmaji as a dead great-grandfather, as we have experience on this planet. He is the oldest great-grandfather, and he is still living, and Narada is also living
- Only by the mercy of Srila Vyasadeva do we have so many volumes of transcendental knowledge to save us from the clutches of ignorance
- Originally we are all connected to the Supreme Lord, but now we have been affected by material contamination. The process is that we have to return to the spiritual world, and that process of linking up is called yoga
- Others, they are seeing the child not very beautiful. The mother, out of ecstatic love, sees the child very beautiful. So similarly, unless we have developed our love for Krsna, we cannot see the Supreme Personality of Godhead within our heart
- Our business, this spiritual line, is guru-krsna-krpa. We have to first receive the merciful benediction from the acarya, and then Krsna will be pleased and He'll also give His blessings. Mad-bhakta
- Our consciousness, at the present moment, is materially contaminated. The Bhagavad-gita teaches that we have to purify this materially contaminated consciousness. BG 1972 Introduction
- Our disease is that we have forgotten God. The more we are forgetful about God, the more we are animals. And the more we become advanced in understanding God, Krsna consciousness, then we are human being
- Our eating process is more decent than the animals. We have got nice kitchen. We can prepare varieties of foodstuff by mixing so many eatables. Because we have got intelligence, we can do
- Our father is Krsna. We can live in the spiritual world very comfortably without any botheration, without endeavor for earning money, but we have decided that we shall live here in this material world. This is called ass
- Our higher intelligence comes with his human body. Because we have higher consciousness, we should try for the higher enjoyment in life, which is spiritual enjoyment
- Our kirtana is simple and can be practiced even by the small children, and we have practically seen how small boys and girls do take part in it by chanting dancing with us, and what to speak of eating the delicious Krishna Prasadam
- Our love for Krsna is dormant. It is within us, but because we have no information of Krsna, therefore we are reposing our love to something which is frustration. That is not the object of love. Therefore we are frustrated
- Our original consciousness is Krsna consciousness, but somehow or other, being in contact with this matter, we have lost our Krsna consciousness. Therefore this movement is to revive Krsna consciousness. That is our original constitutional position
- Our other business is how to become fit for going back to home, back to Godhead. That is our real business. This is temporary business, because we have got some bodily relation
- Our own practical experience we have to accept the beginning of creation, and when we accept the beginning, we must accept a creator. Such a creator must possess an all-pervasive body, as pointed out in the Bhagavad-gita - 13.14
- Our present position is that we have got this human form of life after a great evolutionary process & this is the opportunity to understand Krishna, & revive our original consciousness without which we are sure to go back to the cycle of birth and death
- Our process is descending process. We are not trying to understand by the ascending process. Inductive or deductive. We accept the statements of the Vedas. Therefore we haven't got to make much effort to understand the thing
- Our proposal is the sankirtanaih, the chanting, chanting of the holy name. So if somebody takes this principles, that "Well, we have got our holy name of God. We shall chant that holy name of God," then we have no objection
- Our real business, our real occupation, is to serve Krsna, God. That is our... That service spirit, because we have forgotten God, or Krsna, we are serving somebody else
- Our real problem is that we have got this material body, but we have no sense that, Within this material body I am the spirit soul, living. So how to get out of this material body and again revive our spiritual body
- Our real purpose of life is to become yogi. Yogi means to reestablish our connection, our lost connection, with God. At the present moment, in our material condition, we have forgotten our relationship, our eternal relationship with Krsna
- Our senses are imperfect. That is our defect in the conditioned life. We have got four defects: we commit mistake, we become illusioned, our senses are imperfect and we cheat
- Our senses are so strong, we have discussed many times, that even the greatest learned man falls victim to sense enjoyment

- Paramatma is seeing, Hrsikesa is seeing that you are doing this. So we may forget what nuisance we had done in our last life, but Paramatma is there, witness; you have to get a body according to your work
- Pariksit Maharaja got seven days' time that, "You shall die within seven days." We have no even one second's guarantee. This is our position. But still, we are so much attached
- Past life, by our pious activities or impious activities, we have got a different type of body, here or in higher planetary system. That's all right. But that is not solution of my problem. The real problem is janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi
- People actually do not know what is religion; therefore we have got so many religious system, man-made, or concocted ideas. Actually, religion means the law given by God. That is religion. Dharmam tu saksad bhagavat-pranitam
- People are giving stress only to the Darwin's theory. But in the Vedic literature we have got immense information of this living condition in this material world
- People are in darkness, and they have to be enlightened. We have finally come from the animal kingdom to the human form, and now this human form gives us the opportunity to get out of the cycle of birth and death
- People are thinking that God is dead, or that we have no obligation to God, or that there is no God. This sort of thinking will never make for happiness
- People do not know that our only business is to take shelter of the lotus feet of Krsna. That is the only business. We have no other business. Any other business means we are becoming entangled in this material world
- People do not understand that neither any sinful nor any virtuous act can bring freedom from the bondage of work, as we have explained above. On the contrary, both sinful and virtuous acts will bind the worker up in the wheel of action and reaction
- People understood Krsna wrongly... Sometimes big scholars say "Sophistry," that "Krsna wants full surrender." Others, they say, "Why you should fully surrender to Krsna? We have got our own gods." Therefore Krsna again came
- Person may come to our place with a hoe to cultivate land, or he may come to simply drink coffee or tea. We've been given this particular type of body to cultivate & to attain required sense objects according to our desires. This body is a gift from God
- Political adjustments, social welfare work, medical assistance and the other programs we have manufactured for peace and happiness will never endure
- Prakasananda Sarasvati continued, because You (Caitanya) are greater than all of us in education and realization. Therefore by blaspheming You, we have committed the greatest offense. Please excuse us
- Pramattas means to remain attached to this family life means madness. Means madness. It is very difficult to understand this madness, especially in this age, Kali-yuga, because we have very little knowledge
- Pravrtti means we have got some inclination to accept something and we have disinclination to reject something. Everyone knows it. But the asuric jana, those who are asuras, demons, they do not know in which way we shall accept
- Princes offered prayers to Krsna as follows: "It is by Your causeless mercy that we have been released from the imprisonment of Jarasandha, but now we pray that You release us from imprisonment within material existence, Your illusory energy"
- Princes offered prayers to Krsna, "We now have sufficient experience of the miserable material life in which we are fully absorbed & having tasted its bitterness, we have come to take shelter under Your lotus feet. Therefore please give us protection"
- Princes said, "We have our elephants, horses, chariots, bows, arrows and swords, so why should we be afraid of Krsna? Let us attack Him! He is nothing but a lusty cowherd boy! He cannot take away the Princess in this way! Let us all attack Him!"
- Pure self-realization, as we have several times discussed, is the pure consciousness of admitting oneself to be the eternal servitor of the Lord
- Purnasya purnam adaya purnam eva avasisyate (Iso Invocation). This is the Vedic information. Here we have got experience, one minus one equal to zero. But we get the Vedic information that one minus one equal to one, one plus one equal to one
R
- Radha and Krsna, the same Absolute, but Radharani is the expansion of the pleasure potency of Krsna. We have got potency as Krsna has got. Parasya saktir vividhaiva sruyate (Svetasvatara Upanisad 6.8, Cc. Madhya 13.65). This is the Vedic injunction
- Ratih means affection, affinity, attachment for the Lord. Now we have got attachment for the matter. So as we make progress, we gradually become freed from material attachment and come to the platform, complete attachment for God
- Regardless of what we have done in our past lives, if we engage ourselves in unalloyed devotional service to the Lord in this life, we will always be situated in the brahma-bhuta - liberated state
- Rules and regulation will act as servant, but the main business is to bring one to Krsna consciousness. That is the main business. We are not meant for cheating anyone. We have no business. But to lead one to Krsna consciousness

- Sat means eternal, and the body is not eternal. Therefore it is very difficult to understand what is sat because we have no education, no experience. Everything is annihilated, destroyed, anything material
- Sat means eternal. Spiritual body never annihilates. The material body annihilates. Every one of us, we have got now material body. It will annihilate. But in the spiritual world, when you have got spiritual body, it does not annihilate. Eternal life
- Scientific advancement of knowledge, so far we have in this material world, that is bounded within the area of material energy. They have not succeeded in finding out the spiritual energy. Otherwise they would have given life to the dead man
- Simply by his will, Haridasa Thakura could give up his life and go away, exactly like Bhisma, who previously died simply by his own desire, as we have heard from sastra
- Simply one has to become little intelligent. But we remain unintelligent, rascal, because we are associating with rascals. These rascal philosopher, religionists, avatara, bhagavan, swami, yogis, and karmis. Therefore we have become rascals
- Since we cannot create, we have no right to kill any living entity, and therefore man-made laws that distinguish between killing a man and killing an animal are imperfect
- Since we have not produced the trees, plants, waters or the land, we cannot claim them. Since we actually have nothing, we can renounce nothing, or, as it is said, naked we come into this world and naked we go out
- Sinful activity means do irresponsibly anything we like, and we become entrapped in sinful activities. But as we have got experience in our ordinary life that ignorance is no excuse
- So far other incarnations are concerned, we have somehow counted three or say ten, like that. But here, when we speak of manvantaravatara, they are countless. Asankhya. Asankhya means countless. Nobody can count how many manvantaravataras
- So far the animals are concerned they are also working. They are also working, but working with the help of the nature. But we go beyond the nature. Because we have got better intelligence, we are not satisfied with the nature's product
- So far we have got historical reference from Mahabharata, Indo-European stock, they are also Hindus, the so-called Hindus, followers of Vedic principles. Yes. Gradually, they deviated
- So here in this material world, we have disagreed to serve Krsna. Therefore the whole proposal is again agree to serve Krsna. Sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja (BG 18.66). This is real philosophy
- So in the spiritual world there are so many varieties - four-handed, two-handed living entity. They're all nitya-mukta. They're all everlastingly liberated. So we have been just like a prisoner is. Although he's a prisoner, he can be also good citizen
- So long the soul is there within the body, the child from the babyhood will come to childhood, then childhood to boyhood, boyhood to youthhood. In this way the body will change. We have changed so many bodies, every one of us
- So long we are maya-mohita-cetasah, out of Krsna's touch, we have no value. No value. Valueless. Useless. That is our position
- So long we have got anxiety, there is no question of happiness
- So long we have got lusty desires, we have to change our body, and that we do not know, what kind of body we are going to get next birth. Therefore, without knowing this, if we become mad after material profit, then less intelligent
- So long we have got this body we have to do something. Without doing something we cannot live. The material world will not allow you, that you cannot do anything and you'll be provided
- So long we have got this body, material body, we must be unhappy. First of all, we must try to understand why we are unhappy. We are unhappy because we are in this material body
- So long we have got this body, we must suffer. This is the truth. Asann api klesada asa dehah (SB 5.5.4). We are getting different types of bodies, tatha dehantara-praptih (BG 2.13). Each body is for a short period. It will not last forever
- So long we have got this false identification that "I am enjoyer," that is maya. We are not enjoyer. We are enjoyed. That is real philosophy
- So long we have got this human intelligence, we should utilize it for the highest perfectional stage of life. That is Krsna consciousness
- So long we have got this material body the problems of birth, death, old age, and disease will continue. Therefore, to help the devotees when they're in bodily ailments is also a great great service
- So long we keep ourself as: I am French man," "I am German man," "I am English man," "I am Indian man," or so many there are nationalities, there cannot be any fraternity, equality. We have come to the platform of Krsna consciousness, or brahma-bhutah
- So Lord Caitanya has explained the particular features of Krsna, and He's giving evidence from Brahma-samhita and other authentic Vedic literatures. So we have concluded that Krsna is the origin
- So many drunkards priest, they are going to hospital for treatment, and they are eating, and they are getting married man to man, and still they say: "We do not know what we have done." Just see how cheaters they are
- So many living entities. So we are very small particle, and we have come here in this material world. Just like the Europeans especially, they go to other countries for colonizing to use the material resources for their sense gratification
- So many mothers we have got, out of which cow is also mother. Therefore she's addressed as amba. Amba means mother. Still, in Gujarat province, they call amba. And in U.P., in India, they also call amba, or in a broken language they call amma
- So our, this parampara system from Lord Caitanya, as we have given account just now, we do not manufacture any knowledge by our fertile brain. We accept knowledge as it is coming down from the supreme authority
- So there is future life. You should take it. You should try to understand it. It is not very difficult, but by the modern education we have become so dull-headed, we cannot understand the simple truth that we have to change this body
- So this human form of life is given to us as an opportunity to understand our position because in the human form of life we have more developed consciousness than the lower forms of life
- So we have forgotten our relationship with Krsna. Therefore there is no question of love at the present moment. But we can develop this love by this process, sravanam kirtanam
- So we have no connection with Krsna. But if we chant Hare Krsna maha-mantra, immediately our first chance to contact Krsna begins
- So we have taken so much labor to put in diacritic mark, all the words, word meaning, utilize it. Don't think that these books are only for sale
- So we must be very careful that we have got this human form of body - how to act? The act means first of all you know what is your position. That is the first instruction in the Bhagavad-gita
- So we should pray to Bhaktivinoda Thakura that - We are your grandchildren, great-grandchildren, so we have got some right to beg some mercy from you
- So we should understand that we have got a separate business, real business. That is called self-realization, that "I am not this body." This is self-realization. That is being instructed by Krsna in the beginning, that "You are not this body"
- So we, of course, we are not so advanced, but we have got many examples of advanced devotees. Still there are in India. You will find in Vrndavana and other places. Actually, they have no means - simply depending
- So-called happy family life means that we have a very loving wife and loving children. Thus we enjoy life. But we do not know that this enjoyment is false, that it is resting on a false platform
- Society must be divided into four classes. As we have got four divisions in brahmana, ksatriya, vaisya, sudra must be there. And each one should serve according to his guna-karma, quality and capacity to work
- Some of us we have come, being allured by maya, and some may have come for other purposes. So generally, these jivas, the living entities, they are allured by this maya
- Somehow or other we have come in contact with material nature, and because of the mind and the six senses, we are struggling hard to exist. That is Darwin's theory - the struggle for existence, survival of the fittest
- Sometimes in dreams we think that we are flying in the sky, although we have no experience of flying. This means that once in a previous life, either as a demigod or astronaut, we flew in the sky
- Sometimes people boast, "We have gone from the hut to the skyscraper." They think this is progress. But in the Vedic system of civilization, one thinks about how much he is advanced in self-realization
- Sometimes the planets in outer space are called islands. We have experience of various types of islands in the ocean, and similarly the various planets, divided into fourteen lokas, are islands in the ocean of space
- Sometimes we dream of coming to a place we have never known or experienced in this lifetime, but this is proof that in a past life we experienced this. The impression is kept within the mind and sometimes becomes manifest either in dream or in thought
- Sometimes we had been a hog or a dog or something like that. Now we have come to this stage of life, this life should not be spoiled like the cats, dogs and hogs. But we should have some restraint and realize ourself
- Soon as we conquer over this sense gratification, then we have no fear, bhaya. Krodha: and there is no anger. Where anger is there, as soon as we are dissatisfied in the matter of sense gratification we become angry
- Soul is one - that is part and parcel of Krsna - but according to karma, according to desire for material enjoyment, we have taken different dresses, and we are wandering all over the universe, according to our karma
- Specifically in the field of religion, we have tried to establish many varieties of ephemeral physical and mental arrangements, varieties of denominations, according to various peoples, places, and times
- Spiritual life means pure life, and material life means contaminated life. Just like we have got this body, material body. This is impure body. Therefore we suffer from disease, we suffer from old age, we suffer from birth, we suffer from death
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is wonderfully merciful and wonderfully magnanimous. We have heard of no one else within this world so merciful and charitable
- Srimati Radharani used to lament, "'Our Krsna does not realize what We have suffered from injuries inflicted in the course of loving affairs. We are actually misused by love because love does not know where to strike and where not to strike"'
- Suffering and so-called suffering, distress, that will go on so long we have got this body. But we must come to the knowledge that "I am, I have got this body due to my past activities." That is knowledge. Karmana daiva-netrena
- Suppose we have contaminated so many things in our material life. There are, in a material calculation, there are so many things which are the list. One list is for morality and another list is for immorality
- Suppose we have got now human form of body or in a very rich family; that is all right, but it will not continue. You have to give it up. And any moment, by the superior authority, when it is ordered
- Sutapa was the son of Brahma, and as we have already understood from Bhagavad-gita (BG 8.17), one day of Brahma equals many millions of years according to our calculation - sahasra-yuga-paryantam ahar yad brahmano viduh
- Svayam-jyotih: He (God) is light Himself. We have experience in the material world of one light's being a reflection of another, just as moonlight is a reflection of the sunlight. Sunlight is also the reflection of the brahma-jyotir

- That (God is expanded in everything, but He is not everything, simultaneously one and different) is explained in this (BG 9.4) verse. In the material condition we have a conception of beginning, end and middle, but for the SPG there are no such things
- That (service minus devotion) is not service, that is business. For example, here in Mayapur we have employed a contractor. That is not service - that is business. Is it not
- That is called maya. That is the last snare of maya. Maya dictates that, "Now we have failed to become minister, to (become) president, and so many other big, big posts. Now you become Brahman." You are already Brahman. Simply you have to realize
- That is my request: that we have got this body, and the bodily demands are there. The bodily demands means eating, sleeping, sex and defense. That is required. We don't stop it, but minimize it. Don't increase it
- That is the basic principle of modern civilization, that "There is no life after death, and whatever senses we have got, let us enjoy it."
- That spiritual body is within, but we have no information. Therefore it is said, alpa-buddhayah. The real life is within. We don't take care
- The actual fact is that we are eternal servant of Krsna, we have forgotten it, and therefore we have become servant of maya
- The age of Kali-yuga is 432,000's of years. Out of that we have passed only 5,000 years. The balance is 427,000's of years. And it will become, the condition of society, world, will be worse
- The basic principle of the living condition is that we have a general propensity to love someone. No one can live without loving someone else
- The beginning is to develop attachment for Krsna. The process which we have prescribed is chanting and dancing before the Deities, and offering prasadam, spiritual food. This will make you more Krsna conscious
- The Bhagavad-gita is full of information, but we don't take advantage. We are so unfortunate. And it is our country. This is Indian culture. We have given up this thing
- The body has no importance. Real, the soul is important, the living force. So we have no education about that living force, and the original living force is Krsna, or God
- The boys said, "All of us are very hungry; therefore, we have come to you (the wives of the brahmanas) for some food. Please give us something to eat for Krsna, Balarama and ourselves"
- The boys said, "They (Krsna and Balarama) have come here with the cows, and you may know also that we have come here under Their instructions"
- The brahmanas said, "To hell with it all, for we have not developed transcendental loving service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is beyond the speculation of the mind, body and senses"
- The brahmanas said, "We are very proud because we have such exalted wives who have developed pure transcendental service of the Lord without being shackled by our rigid opposition"
- The brahmanas said, "We have all been born into three advantageous conditions"
- The brahmanas, the intelligent men or great sages, would control the monarchical powers. Here (SB 4.17.9) we have an indication of how the brahmanas elected King Prthu to the throne as the protector of the citizens
- The Buddha incarnation mentioned in this verse (SB 2.7.37) is not the same Buddha incarnation we have in the present history of mankind
- The Buddhists argue that the world is false, but this is not valid. The world is temporary, but it is not false. As long as we have the body, we must suffer the pleasures and pains of the body, even though we are not the body
- The child is completely dependent on the care of parents and he's happy. Simple philosophy. But because we have advanced in civilization, in knowledge, therefore we want to understand this simple philosophy in so many jugglery of words. That's all
- The common man also knows that the creation is made by some creator and is not created automatically. We have no experience in the practical world that a thing is created automatically
- The conclusion is that the mind is the storehouse of our past desires, and we have this present body due to our past desires. Similarly, whatever we desire in this present body will be expressed in a future body

- The demigods boast uselessly while away from the battlefield. Only where there is no fighting can they show their prowess. Therefore, from such demigods we (Kamsa and his ministers) have nothing to fear - SB 10.4.36
- The destination is to go back home, back to Godhead, as we have several times discussed in these pages
- The difficulty is that we do not follow the direction of the sastras, therefore we are misguided. As I was speaking the other day, because we have forgotten Krsna for time immemorial, therefore these books are there
- The duties of the vaisyas, who are engaged in visa, are stated as cow protection, agriculture and business. We have already discussed that the human being can safely depend on the cow and agricultural land for his livelihood
- The duty of human life is to understand God, Krsna. In the Vedanta-sutra, the first aphorism is athato brahma jijnasa. Athah, "therefore." Because we have got this human form of body, so this is the time for inquiring about the Absolute Truth
- The fact is that we are fools and rascals. We have come to enjoy this material world, but under the control of material nature

- The gopis received Uddhava very happily and began to speak as follows: "We have heard that King Kamsa, who was always a source of trouble for the Yadu dynasty, has now been killed. This is good news for us"
- The gopis said, "O dear friend of the distressed, kindly place Your hand on our burning breasts as well as on our heads, because we have surrendered unto You (Krsna) as Your eternal maidservants"
- The gopis said, "Since You (Krsna) are the Supreme Personality of Godhead and like to enjoy the parakiya-rasa and are famous as a transcendental woman hunter, we have come to satisfy Your transcendental desires"
- The gopis said, "We have left our homes with the hope that we shall completely devote and dedicate our lives to Your (Krsna's) service. We are simply begging to be engaged as Your servants"
- The gopis said, "We have now placed ourselves under the dust of Your (Krsna's) feet. Please do not reject us, for we are fully surrendered souls"
- The gopis said, "We must have performed many welfare activities for the public, such as growing banyan trees and excavating wells. As a result of these pious activities, we have gotten back our child (Krsna), even though He was supposed to be dead"
- The Gosvamis cried, "O gopis, where are You? Where are You, Srimati Radharani?" They never said, "We have now seen Radha and Krsna, and therefore our mission is fulfilled." Their mission remained always unfulfilled; they never met Radha and Krsna
- The Gosvamis never said, "We have seen Krsna." This is the recommended process - worship in separation
- The human life is meant for extinguishing the blazing fire of material existence. But we are not in regulative principles. We have lost everything, our sanatana-kula-dharma, everything

- The importance of this material world is there because we living entities are there. And we have come here. Krsna-bahirmukha hana bhoga vancha. All the living entities, they have come into this material world to enjoy material enjoyment
- The internal energy and the marginal energy are of the same superior quality, but the external energy is inferior in quality. That is the information we have from Bhagavad-gita
- The karmis think that the resources of the world, that is given by nature for our enjoyment. This is the modern theory of economic development. Everyone is thinking like that, that by nature we have got the gold mine, so we shall take it & use it & enjoy
- The kings continued: "The time element is so strong that no one can escape its influence; therefore we have received the reactions of our atrocious activities, and we are now bereft of all opulences and stand before You (Krsna) like street beggars"
- The kings said, "We are no longer interested in sense gratification derived through the material body. By Your grace, we have now come to the conclusion that hankering after such material happiness is just like searching for water in a desert mirage"
- The Krsna consciousness movement means that we are trying to educate people to change the consciousness. We have got so many desires under different consciousness. So one desire, that "I am eternal servant of Krsna," this is called mukti
- The krsna-bhakti, our love for Krsna, is there eternally. But on account of our contamination with this material world, we have forgotten our relationship
- The laborer class... In India, of course, we have got this distinction. They are not satisfied for, with this white rice. They want coarse grain for satisfaction. While gentleman class, they cannot eat coarse grain. They want finer grain
- The life is very valuable. Don't think that "Because we have got human form of life, we shall live for one hundred years or sixty or seventy years, so let us enjoy." Bhagavata says this kind of enjoyment is there everywhere - in animal life, in plant life
- The light of knowledge is kindled by our preceptors, and we can see things as they are only by our preceptors' mercy. From our very birth we have become accustomed to gathering knowledge by the mercy of our preceptors, whether father, mother, or teacher
- The Lord is so kind to us that He can be present before us personally in the form of transcendental sound, but unfortunately we have no taste for hearing and glorifying the Lord's name and activities
- The Lord never interferes with the little independence that has been offered to us. We have got little independence because we are part and parcel of the Supreme Lord. Oh, so under certain percentage we have got independence. Not full
- The main principle - that we are not meant for this material world; we have our destination in the spiritual world - that is accepted by everyone
- The material world is a creation of our mental concoctions. We have come to this material world to enjoy material resources, and by mental concoction we discover many, many objects of enjoyment
- The meaning of religion is to abide by the laws of God, just like a good citizen means who abides by the laws of the state, of the government. Because we have no understanding of God, therefore we do not know what is the laws of God
- The messenger said, "We have been entangled in the network of material reactions due to our ignorance"
- The messenger said, "We have come to take shelter of Your lotus feet, which can immediately eradicate all the results of fruitive action and thus free us from the contamination of material pains and pleasures"
- The messenger said, "We have now come to the real conclusion of our lives. Our kingly positions were nothing but the reward of our past pious activities, just as our suffering imprisonment by Jarasandha is the result of our past impious activities"
- The modern aeronautics, they estimate, that in order to go to the topmost planet will require forty thousands of years by going in the light year. Just like light year, we have got calculation
- The moon planet, of course, is the nearest planet, but even we approach the highest planet, which is called Brahmaloka, there also we have the same miseries of material life
- The more we are advanced means more we have given up all these things. Eating, sleeping, mating and defending. This is the position
- The most wonderful thing that we have experienced, that "My father is dead, my father's father is dead, so I shall also be, die." Who will stay? Where is the struggle for existence, survival of the fittest? He never thinks. This is the eighth wonder
- The next question will be: "Then how Narayana learned the Vedas or knowledge?" Because we have got experience. We receive knowledge from others. So this question may be raised. Therefore it is said, saksat svayambhuh. He does not require

- The queens continued, "Dear Himalayan breeze, please know we have already been stricken. There is no need to injure us more & more. Dear beautiful cloud, the color of your beautiful body exactly resembles the bodily hue of our dearmost Syamasundara"
- The queens continued, "Our hearts no longer work properly, and therefore we also have become very lean and thin. We think, therefore, that you are just like us"
- The rabbit, when there is some enemy - it will immediately kill him - and he closes the eyes so that there is no enemy. Similarly, we have become so foolish about this cycle of birth & death, we do not ever think that how to get out of this birth & death
- The rascal is so mad that everything will be finished, and he is talking of "fittest." All theory; no practical. Unnecessarily spent millions and millions of dollars, that "We have gone to moon." Why? Why this bogus propaganda
- The real disease is within our heart. We have got a disease, heart disease. What is that? Kama, lusty desires
- The real name of this planet is Bharatavarsa, this planet. Now, gradually, it has been cut up. It has been cut up, just like we have got immediate experience that some portion of India is now cut up, and that is named Pakistan. You know, all

- The spiritual master is there, the scripture is there, and God is there, within you and within me. The atmosphere is calm and quiet, we have a good boat and a good navigator, and the wind is blowing favorably. We should take our chance and cross the ocean
- The Srimad-Bhagavatam is the science of Krsna, the Absolute Personality of Godhead of whom we have preliminary information from the text of the Bhagavad-gita

- The voluntary suffering means what is our enjoyment? First of all let us see. The enjoyment is if we can eat voraciously, eating, and if we can sleep thirty hours, and if we have got sex life without any discrimination, and don't care for defense
- The water of the seas and oceans of this planet, of which we have experience, are salty, but other planets within the universe contain oceans of sugarcane juice, liquor, ghee, milk and sweet water
- The whole body is imperfect and full of ignorance. The spiritual body means full of knowledge, just opposite. So we can get that body next life, and we have to cultivate how to get that type of body
- The whole human civilization is challenged, that we have advanced human civilization, but we are less than animal. We cannot live even peacefully
- The wives of the brahmanas said, "And what shall we do if we return home? Our husbands, brothers, fathers, sons, mothers and friends will no longer accept us at home because we have already left them all"
- The wives of the brahmanas said, "Therefore we have no shelter to return to. Please, therefore, do not ask us to return home, but arrange for our stay under Your lotus feet so that we can eternally live under Your protection"
- The wives of the brahmanas said, "We have surrendered unto Your lotus feet, which are covered by tulasi leaves, so we have no desire to give up the shelter of Your lotus feet and return to the company of our so-called relatives, friends and society"
- The word dama-sariri means that we have a body in which we can control the senses and the mind
- The worker or the agriculturist owns the land, and he works there, and according to his labor he enjoys the fruits. Similarly, we have been given this body as the field of activity. Every one of us, not only human being, but also other living entities
- The world, we are bound up within this material law of nature - why? Because we have got strong desire for sex. Not only also human society, in animal society also. The central point is sex
- Their whole life is miserable condition, tri-tapa-yatana, adhyatmika, adhibhautika, adhidaivika, but we are so foolish, we have accepted this miserable condition of life as customary
- Theoretical knowledge that we have got a particular type of relationship with God, that you cannot deny
- There (in the spiritual sky) all the planets are eternal, & the lives of all the beings on them are eternal. In this verse (BG 8.20) the word bhavah means "nature," and here another nature is indicated. In this world we have experience also of two natures
- There are 8,400,000's forms of bodies, and we are rotating. Because we do not know, we have forgotten how to become free from this cycle of birth and death and transmigration of the soul. This is called karma
- There are different kinds of dharma, or religious system. But real religious system means how we have learned to love God. That's all. Nothing more. No ritualistic ceremony, no formula, nothing
- There are eight types of different regulation to stop sex life. But these things are very difficult in this age. Therefore we have simply summarized that don't have sex life beyond the married life. That is not good
- There are many places on the surface of this earth which are also known in the higher planetary systems; we have places on this planet like Vrndavana, Dvaraka and Mathura, but they are also eternally situated in Krsnaloka

- There are seven kinds of mother: adau-mata guroh patni. Real mother, from whose womb we have taken birth, she is called adau-mata, first mother. Then second mother, the guroh patni. Guru means teacher or spiritual master. His wife

- There are so many thousands and millions of expansion, svamsa, personal self and separated self. We are also Krsna's part-and parcel-expansion; therefore we have got intimate relationship with Krsna
- There are sufferings imposed by natural phenomena. So because we have got this body, we are subjected to threefold miseries of life. And we are hankering after eternal life, blissful life, life of knowledge
- There are three states to our existence, namely wakefulness, dreaming and deep sleep. In all three states, we have different experiences. Thus the soul is the observer of these three states
- There are two kinds of prakrtis, we have studied in Bhagavad-gita: apara-prakrti, para-prakrti. So para-prakrti, or nature, transcendental nature, that is called daivi-prakrti

- There may be caste brahmanas, and we have all respect for them, but their birth in brahmana families does not mean that they are qualified to bestow blessings upon the other members of human society. This is the verdict of the sastras
- These boys run our cars. And you'll be very pleased that in each and every temple we have got at least four cars, nice. Especially one car for me and two cars for carrying them for sankirtana movement. Very good arrangement
- These roles (friend and enemy) are determined by mutual behavior. As we have dealings with others in ordinary affairs, in the same way the individual has dealings with himself. I may act as my own friend or as an enemy
- They (Krsna's friends) were very jubilant and invited Him, "Dear friend Krsna, You have come back so quickly! All right, we have not as yet begun our lunch, not even taken one morsel of food. So please come and join us, and let us eat together"
- They (living entities) have come for material enjoyment, and everything is being supplied by the Supreme Lord. We have no right to kill them. The same thing. Just like the father will never agree to kill a worthless child by the competent boy
- They (miscreants people) may be very well educated lawyers, for example, but their plan is to cheat. We have practical experience
- They (six Gosvamis) never said, "We have now seen Radha and Krsna, and therefore our mission is fulfilled." Their mission remained always unfulfilled; they never met Radha and Krsna
- They (the people of Kundina) prayed to the Personality of Godhead, "Our dear Lord, if we have performed any pious activities with which You are satisfied, kindly be merciful upon us and accept the hand of Rukmini"
- They are falsely thinking that, "I am now liberated. I have become one with God." Falsely thinking. It is just like on some purchasing matter that we have become one with God
- They are so rascal, fool, they are going to another planet. They do not think with the one planet we have already failed
- They began to say, "Our dear Krsna! O S. Personality of God! Our dear Balarama, reservoir of all strength! Please try to save us from this all-devouring and devastating fire. We have no shelter other than You. This devastating fire will swallow us all"
- They cannot explain why there are so many varieties of life. The varieties of life is there because we have desire, kama. "I want this," "All right, take this." Krsna is immediately prepared
- Thinking power we have got. We think so many . . . Our mind is never vacant; always think something. We think of something always, twenty-four hours. That is mind's nature
- This business (transmigration of soul) is going on. If we want to stop this business, we have got this opportunity, human form of life. We can understand things if we have got little intelligence
- This devotional service begins simply by hearing and chanting. We have got all these books. Anyone can take advantage of these books. Now it is translated into English. Of course, we are getting very, very good, encouraging reports from Western countries
- This human body is a very nice boat, and we have a very good navigator, the spiritual master. We also have a very favorable wind - the instructions of God. If we don't take this opportunity and solve the problems of life, we are cutting our own throat
- This human form of life is given to us as an opportunity to understand our position because in the human form of life we have more developed consciousness than the lower forms of life like the aquatics, insects, plants, birds, beasts
- This human form of life is meant for understanding God only. There is no other business. But instead of understanding God we have created so many problems, and our life is being spoiled in solving all these problems. That is the difficulty
- This human form of life is so rare, after many, many millions of birth, many many millions of years rotating through different species of life, by the evolutionary process, we have come to this human form of life
- This institution has advanced so much all over the world because we have got these boys who have dedicated everything for Krsna. Therefore it has so quickly advanced all over the world
- This is a great opportunity we have got, this human form of life. Once missed, you do not know what is the loss. We do not know what is going to happen in our next life. But if you take to KC, it is guaranteed that you get another human form of life
- This is evolution. This evolution theory . . . it is not theory, it is fact stated in the Vedic literature, Padma Purana, how we have passed through so many bodies, and ultimately we have got this civilized human form of body
- This is illusion. Sunyayitam. Jagat is not sunyam. Just like we have got practical experience. If somebody's beloved has died, he sees everything zero. Nothing is appealing to him
- This is Krsna consciousness. Why should I kill unnecessarily an animal? We have got so many nice foodstuff. Krsna has given me grains, fruits, milk. The cows, they are supplying tons of milk, but they are not claiming
- "This is my body. This is my hand. This is my leg. This is my country. This is my mother. This is my father. This is my school." "This is my," I know. I have the concept of "my." But who is conceiving "my"? We have no information where it is
- This is our temporary home. We have got real home. That is the kingdom of God. We are coming from there
- This is real movement (Krsna consciousness). Krsna, what Krsna is speaking, what Caitanya Mahaprabhu is speaking, that is not cheating. That is real solution of the problem. So we have taken the business of Krsna, Caitanya Mahaprabhu
- This is the advantage of this age, Kali-yuga. We have got many disadvantages. People are implicated in sinful activities, more and more trouble. And it will be exhibited there will be no food grains, no milk, no sugar
- This is the beginning of Kali-yuga. Out of four hundred thousands of years, we have passed only five thousand years. Not only four hundred thousand - four hundred and thirty-two thousands of years. There is regular calculation in the Vedic sastra
- This is the problem. This material world is problematic, especially when we have got these family relationships
- This is very important verse. Form and formless. When we speak of formless, we speak that God or even living entity, all of us, we have no material form. Just like we have got this form, but this form is temporary and it will never come again
- This knowledge, we have to acquire, that "We have got the greatest powerful friend in Krsna, and He is with me." This is knowledge. Just like when you chant Krsna, Hare Krsna, actually the fact is Krsna is dancing on your tongue by sound vibration
- This Krsna consciousness movement is also concerned with the soul, and therefore we have used the word "consciousness" because consciousness belongs to the soul. Consciousness is the symptom of the soul's presence
- This Krsna consciousness movement is meant for the rascal number one, & we always canvassing, soliciting, "Please take to this." Not that we have invented something. As Krsna said to Arjuna that - This philosophy, this Krsna consciousness philosophy
- This Krsna consciousness movement means that we have accepted the senses from Krsna, it should be used for Krsna. Instead of using it for Krsna, we are using it for our sense gratification. This is our miserable condition of life
- This material life means within the jurisdiction of maya, and she's always punishing us. Anadi-bahirmukha jiva krsna bhuli gela ataeva maya tare gola bhagiya. Because we have tried to forget Krsna, that is not good for us
- This material world is a sort of prison house, as we have several times mentioned. The demigods are the servants of the Lord who see to the proper upkeep of the prison house
- This present rascal civilization does not know that how with great difficulty we have come to this human form of life after so many evolutions
- This sannyasa order, as we have accepted, it is compulsory regulative principle of Vedic way of life. The first twenty-five years brahmacari, strict life of celibacy, student life, without any sex indulgence, complete, up to 25 years. Then grhastha
- This so-called civilization, human civilization, is falling in the fire of illusory maya, fut! fut! fut! fut! fut! and again and again. Bhutva bhutva praliyate (BG 8.19). Once takes birth, one again dies, again suffers. But we have no brain, mudha
- This whole material world is impersonal, but because we have taken a certain portion of it and make my body, it looks like person. And God is not like that. He is spiritual person. He has nothing to do with material
- Through austerity and through renunciation of all attachments, we have become maidservants in the home of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is satisfied in Himself
- Thus (because the European and American devotees are helping me considerably) we have expectations of finishing the great task (of presenting Srimad-Bhagavatam in the English language) before my passing away. All glories to Sri Guru and Gauranga
- Thus (by professing a particular faith or religion) we have chosen a center of attraction that many others cannot share with us - because for them, our center of attraction is not all-attractive
- Time is immemorial, and many, many millions of years ago there were living entities, more perfect living entities. They're still living. But we have no information
- To answer this question, we first have to understand that there cannot be any influence of chance for the living entities; chance is for nonliving entities
- To become Brahman means to be completely engaged in rendering devotional service to the Lord. Thus the mahatma understands that if service is to be rendered, it is to be to Krsna & no one else. We have so long served our senses; now we should serve Krsna
- To control the senses, that is not very great achievement. The great achievement, how we have become a pure devotee of Krsna. So that will include everything
- To err is human. Because we commit mistake, because we are sometimes illusioned, and because we have got a propensity of cheating others, and because our senses are imperfect, therefore, simply by mental speculation it is not possible to realize God
- To err is human. That is a fact; everyone will agree. Yes. Nobody can say, "I never committed any mistake." Nobody can say that. That is not possible. So long we have got this bodily concept of life, this is mistake
- To hear the activities of the Lord means to associate with the Lord directly, and association with the Lord directly means purification from material contamination. We have already discussed this point in the previous volume
- To know the Absolute Truth is not possible by our present senses. Because at the present moment we have got material . . . materially affected; not material senses. Our sense are originally spiritual, but it is covered by material contamination
- To stop death, to stop birth, is not possible unless one comes to Krsna consciousness. Unless one does not come to the position of loving Krsna, there's no question of freedom. That is the nature's law. We have forgotten Krsna
- To the degree that we have entered into the service of the Lord or to the proportion to which our lives are freed from sins, we can perceive the Lord
- To the faithful the Lord reveals Himself in His form, quality and pastimes. The Lord is not formless, as wrongly conceived by the impersonalist, but His form is not like one that we have experienced
- Try to understand the word dharma, that it cannot be changed. Similarly, we living entities, we have got a dharma, or religion. That we cannot change. What is that? A living entity is servant

- Under certain percentage we have got independence. And that independence we can use properly or misuse it also. When we misuse, then we become krpana, the miser. And when we use it properly, then we become brahmana
- Under the fool's guidance you are becoming fool. And if we take the real guidance, then we come into the real knowledge. We have created a fool's paradise. Everyone is a fool, and he is promising paradise
- Unfortunately, in our present condition we have forgotten Krsna. But now we have to revive our spiritual life by remembering Him
- Unfortunately, instead of taking shelter of Krsna, we have taken shelter of lusty desires. This is demonic
- Unfortunately, we are misled by blind leaders. We have been engaged in studying the body, that's all
- Unfortunately, we have forgotten that Krsna, God, is all-pervading. This memory has to be revived. As soon as we revive our Krsna consciousness, we can see everything in relationship with Krsna, and then everything becomes lovable
- Unfortunately, we have given up the real problem of life. We are embarrassed with the temporary existence of this body, say for some years, fifty years or hundred years. But as we are eternal, we are not taking care of the eternal soul, what is its need
- Unfortunately, we have got departments of knowledge in our educational system, but actually there is no department of knowledge where Krsna consciousness is taught scientifically. That is a great necessity of the present day
- Unfortunately, we have got technology for the bodily senses, we have got technology for psychology, but we have neither any technology for intelligence nor for any technology in the science of the soul
- Unless there is some living force behind the matter there cannot be anything created. We have no such experience
- Unless we have a bona fide teacher of the Vedas, it is very difficult to understand Vedic language and take advantage of it
- Unless we have a particular type of body, we cannot enjoy or suffer according to our mental proclivities inherited from the previous life
- Unless we have got krsna-prema, love for Krsna, how we can remain satisfied simply in the business of Krsna? That is not possible
- Unless we have taken fully shelter at the lotus feet of Krsna, there is no stoppage of this repetition of birth and death, neither there is any peace or happiness. We must know this from all angles of vision and stick to Krsna consciousness very rigidly
- Unless we see the beauty of the Supersoul, Krsna, we have no idea what is actually beauty
- Unnecessarily we have accepted sufferings of this material world. If our real consciousness, means Krsna consciousness, is awakened, then we become aware of our position, constitutional position
- Until now we have simply wasted so much of our time in sense gratification, neglecting to cultivate knowledge of the Supreme Lord
- Upananda said, "We have all been saved from different calamities by the grace of Lord Hari. Now we should be cautious and leave this place and reside somewhere where we can live peacefully"

- Vasudeva continued: My dear friend (Nanda), it is very difficult for us to live together. Although we have our family and relatives, sons and daughters, by nature’s way we are generally separated from one another
- Vita-raga-bhaya-krodha. Here we have got attraction, material, so we have to withdraw this attraction. How it will be possible? If we become more attracted to Krsna, then this attraction will go away
- Vivasvan means the present predominating deity of the sun globe. Just like we have got a president, similarly, but he has got a particular name, similarly, the president of the sun globe is called Surya, Suryadeva. But he has got a particular name
- Voluntarily we have accepted this material body, but actually we are spirit souls who should not have accepted it. When and how we accepted it cannot be traced. No one can trace the history of when the conditioned soul first accepted the material body
- Vyasadeva or big, big saintly person, they have no business to present before you something mythology. Why they should waste time in that way? It is simply rascaldom to think all the statement as mythology. Not mythology. We have no knowledge

- Water is the source of life for everyone. Therefore, by the grace of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, we have so much water all over the world
- We (the Kurus) have allowed the Yadu dynasty to use the royal insignias like the whisk, fan, conchshell, white umbrella, crown, royal throne, sitting place and bedstead, along with everything else befitting the royal order
- We are against all so-called cheating religion. The Hinduism is also a cheating religion. We are preaching Bhagavata, and Bhagavata beginning that "We have kicked out all cheating religion." What is cheating religion? That one has to understand
- We are all criminals. Criminals. What is that criminality? Because we have forgotten God. This is criminality
- We are all sadhus, actually, originally, because we are part and parcel of Krsna, but in contact with maya we have become asadhu. Sadhu means who are pure devotees. Bhajate mam ananya-bhak. That is sadhu
- We are all sons of God, and that relationship with Him is eternal, but we have simply forgotten. Krsna is all-powerful, all-famous, all-wealthy, all-beautiful, all-knowledgeable, and He is full of renunciation as well
- We are all the servant of maya, prakrti, because we have given up the service of the Lord
- We are all under authority, yet we say that we don't want authority. This is called maya, illusion. We do, however, have a certain independence - we can choose to be under the authority of our senses or the authority of Krsna
- We are busy always, but the animals are also busy for eating, sleeping, mating, and defending, but they have no problem. We have got problems
- We are doing. As far as possible, we have got center. The people are so overintelligent, don't take it. - Ah, what Hare Krsna? We have heard it. Ah, we have seen Bhagavad-gita
- We are drinking water for the taste. That taste is Krsna. Similarly, if you explain this law of gravitation which we have discovered is Krsna, prove it by your scientific knowledge, that will be your service
- We are engaged in philanthropic work, to give food to the poor, as if God is unable to give food to the poor, because we have taken the position of God. So this is not our business. God has food for everyone
- We are engaged in this unreal body, sense gratification. We have got senses. So therefore Bhagavad-gita says, sukham atyantikam yat tad atindriya-grahyam (BG 6.21). Atindriya-grahyam. Beyond the senses
- We are eternal, blissful, and full of knowledge, but having been covered by this material entanglement, we have forgotten ourselves. Therefore Bhagavad-gita gives us the advantage of being able to revive our original status
- We are eternal, but we have been under the clutches of birth and death. This is the influence of time. Not that time is changing, but the influence of time is changing
- We are fallen conditioned souls. In this material world we have come with an enjoying spirit. Therefore we are fallen. If one keeps his position rightly, he does not fall. Otherwise he is degraded. That is fallen condition
- We are in high brahmana families, we have ceremoniously received the sacred thread, and we are also properly initiated by a spiritual master. But, alas, in spite of all these advantages, we are condemned. Even our observance of brahmacarya is condemned
- We are in this apartment; we go to another apartment. Tatha dehantara-praptih (BG 2.13). Similarly, nobody dies. It is change of body, from this body to another body. So we have no death. This is illusion
- We are in this material ocean. Life after life we are struggling. So now we have got a nice boat, this human body. Sulabham sudurlabham. And it is specially advantageous because the breeze is very favorable
- We are meant for serving Krsna, but we have rebelled: "Why shall I serve Krsna? I shall serve my senses. I shall remain independent without Krsna."
- We are minute particle of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Mamaivamso jiva-bhutah (BG 15.7). We are not Krsna, but Krsna's part, minute part. That minute part also we have discussed - one ten-thousandth part of the upper portion of the hair
- We are not admitted in the spiritual kingdom unless we have given up this false sense of lording it over the material nature. Here, the conditioned souls, everyone is trying to become the lord, imitating. Everyone is trying. But there is clash
- We are not meant for going to the cinema or for other sense gratification purposes, but because we have got this body, there is no question that we shall stop eating. We eat prasadam, krsna-prasadam, and that is very palatable
- We are not proprietor. We have got the right to use them, the things which are given by God to us. We shall have the right to use them, but we are not proprietor. So that is real knowledge
- We are not this apartment, we are the occupier of the apartment. That is real knowledge. There are two persons: one is the occupier and one is the proprietor. We have got practical knowledge
- We are now in forgotten state. This conditioned material life means we have forgotten our real, constitutional position
- We are one with God, since we have God's qualities in minute degree. But God is the master, and we are always subordinate. Eko bahunam yo vidadhati kaman: we are protected, we are maintained, we are predominated. That is our position
- We are opening different centers. Why? Just to give opportunity to the people to understand this science of Krsna consciousness. It is not a bluff. We have got authority behind this movement. Whole Vedic literature
- We are part and parcel of God, a minute particle; still, we have got so many potencies. Every man, not only man, the animals also, they have got various potencies, creative energy. So just imagine how much creative energies and potencies are there in God
- We are part and parcel of God. We have got little independence. But if we misuse it, then we shall be punished. So there is no question of independence. Independence, little; that is interdependence, not independence
- We are part and parcel of Krsna; we have small particles of all the desires of Krsna. Our existence is a small particle of God's, just like a small particle of gold which has all the qualities of the original gold
- We are part and parcel of the Supreme Person therefore we have got all the propensities and qualities of God but very minute quantity. That minute quantity is also now covered by this material energy. That is our position
- We are paying because we have forgotten Krsna. Therefore now we have manufactured the nuclear weapon - Russia, America - and you will have to pay heavily
- We are so proud to think that this is advancement of knowledge, but if we can manufacture something that can stop death, we have really advanced in knowledge
- We are sons of God, part and parcels of God, and God means almighty. So we have got almighty father, and leaving His place, I have come to this material world to enjoy independently. That is criminality. And we are suffering
- We are sons of God, therefore we have got right to enjoy the property of God. That is real peace
- We are spirit soul, and there was never any need of this material body. But because we wanted to enjoy the material body, we have this body, through the material energy, under the direction of the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- We are spirit souls, aham brahmasmi. We have nothing to do with this material world. But somehow or other, I am in contact. So simply I have to be contactless
- We are struggling very hard with this mind and six senses. So we have to make the mind our friend. Now, Krsna is gradually making progress to explain to Arjuna how the mind can be made friend
- We are supremely under control. So therefore we have got certain obligation. Just like we are controlled by the government. So we have got some obligation also, to pay tax to the government, the income tax
- We are thinking that we have made a paradise, but actually the place is miserable, because the threefold miseries, they are there
- We are trying to be free from the rules and regulation, but that is meant for the animals, not for the human being. We have forgotten. We want freedom
- We are trying to imitate the Western country and technology, and we have thrown out our Vedic treasure-house, our transcendental knowledge treasure-house
- We are trying to understand the source of Krsna because we have no other experience. We have got only experience that everything has got a source
- We are turning the world into a materialistic and hellish place, and because we are ignorant of our constitutional position, we have created innumerable problems, just as in dreams we create so many problems. But in actuality there are no problems
- We are under the stringent rules of material nature, but still we are thinking that we have conquered. This is called maya
- We are very depressed at being unfit candidates for Your mercy. Yet since we have heard of Your transcendental qualities, we are very much attracted to You
- We are willingly, against the principle of religion that "Thou shalt not kill," we have opened so many thousands of slaughterhouse, giving a nonsense theory that the animal has no soul. Just see the fun
- We being very teeny, small, fragmental, atomic part and parcel of Krsna, although we have got all the ingredients of Krsna, still, we require protection. Just like the child and the father
- We belong to the Aryan family, but we have lost our knowledge. So we have become non-Aryan practically, because we do not give importance to the spiritual side of life
- We can live in the spiritual world very comfortably without any botheration, without endeavor for earning money, but we have decided that we shall live here in this material world. This is called ass
- We can say in the court that we are simply repeating like parrot. That's all. We have pledged to become parrot of Krsna. That's all
- We can understand that there is sky by sound, and we can understand that we have a mind because we are thinking, feeling, and willing. Similarly, we can understand that we have an intelligence which guides the mind
- We cannot calculate the extent of the material universe, but we have Vedic information that there are millions of universes within the entire creation, and beyond these material universes there is another sky, which is spiritual
- We cannot deny the existence of the ocean of milk as stated in the Srimad-Bhagavatam unless and until we have experimentally seen all the planets hovering in space
- We cannot even estimate one universe what is the length and breadth, and how many planets are there, how they are working. We have no information. And we are very proud of advancement of knowledge
- We cannot immediately make an experiment and go there (where God lives). That is not possible. But we have so many descriptions of the supreme planet in Vedic literature
- We commit mistake, we are illusioned, our senses are imperfect and we have got a cheating propensity. We are possessing these four defects. However great a man may be, he makes mistake in calculation. To err is human
- We do not belong to this material creation, but we have come here. Just like one does not belong to the prisonhouse, but by his own action he comes to the prisonhouse. He becomes criminal, and therefore he is put into the prisonhouse. By his own activity
- We do not know that no portion belongs to us; everything belongs to Krsna. For practical purpose, even if we accept that the whole world belongs to Krsna, God, and we are sons of God, we have got right to use the property of father, so you can use
- We do not say anything that can be defied by anyone. That experience we have. Rather, we defy everyone: "Any questions?" Till now, Krsna has given us protection. In big, big meetings in big, big countries, after speaking I ask, - Any questions
- We don't claim that we have become liberated from all dirty things. There are so many dirty things still. But little clearance will help us to become a devotee of the Lord
- We don't condemn electricity, but it does not mean because we have got electricity, we shall deny the authority of God. That is rascaldom
- We experience two energies - material energy and spiritual energy. We have some experience of the material energy (earth. water, air, fire, ether, mind, intelligence and ego) because in the material world everyone's body is composed of these elements
- We generally have the experience of the temporary, material world and conditioned souls trying to lord it over the material worlds
- We had to pass through animal bodies. By evolution, we have come to this human form of body. Now it is an opportunity to get out of this cycle of birth and death. This is our real problem
- We have a big tree of these actions and reactions with their respective fruits. And as the enjoyers of these fruits, we become bound up in the network of such work and its fruit. Birth after birth, the spirit soul becomes bound up in the process
- We have a material conception of the sky, and we think of it in relationship to the sun, moon, stars and so on. BG 1972 Introduction
- We have a tongue, and if we use this tongue to chant Hare Krsna, we shall immediately come directly in touch with Krsna, because the name Krsna and the person Krsna are not different
- We have a very efficient boat in this human form of body, and there is a very expert captain, the spiritual master; the scriptural injunctions are like favorable winds
- We have a very short period to live, and we never know when we are going to die. There is no certainty. Foolish people think that they will go on living forever, but that is simply foolishness
- We have accepted already so many bodies. And natural conclusion is that I must accept another body
- We have accepted Krsna consciousness duty, so we have to execute our duties faithfully and seriously. Then it is sure Krsna will give us the desired result
- We have accumulated many inauspicious things within our hearts due to our material contamination during the course of many, many births. Many, many births - not only this birth, but past births as well
- We have accumulating knowledge from university education, but everything remains imperfect. The scientists, they give some theory, but that is imperfect
- We have acquired material qualities by associating with the three modes of material nature - sattva guna, rajo guna and tamo guna
- We have actually seen that a dog has no respect even for the tulasi plant. Indeed, a dog is especially inclined to pass urine on the tulasi plant. Therefore the dog is the number one nondevotee
- We have actually seen that many brahmacaris and grhasthas connected with the International Society for Krishna Consciousness have improved in health, and a luster has come to their faces
- We have actually seen that one can never become satiated by hearing the conversations between Vidura and Maitreya. Both of them are devotees, and the more Vidura inquires, the more Maitreya is encouraged to speak
- We have actually seen that when one man was about to die he requested his physician to give him a chance to live four more years so that he could finish his plans. This means that while dying he was thinking of his plans
- We have already come to know that the influence of the age of Kali is meant for godless so-called civilized man; those who are under the protection of the Lord have nothing to fear from this horrible age
- We have already described this (the Supreme Personality of Godhead (Bhagavan)) feature of the Lord in the purport to the previous verse (MM 1), in connection with the name Jagan-nivasa
- We have already discussed hereinbefore (MOG 3) that the mundane qualities of goodness that are the signs of the brahmana are included and coexisting within the qualities of the transcendentalist

- We have already quoted a passage from Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, in which it is said that one who has by chance taken his birth in the holy land of Bharatavarsa can render the supreme benefit to others

- We have also stated that material bondage means accepting one body and creating another. Krsna, through nature, will give us full facility to enjoy our senses

- We have become subject to these illusory (as birth, death, old age and disease) problems because of our forgetfulness of Krsna and our position as His eternal servants (jivera 'svarupa' haya-krsnera 'nitya-dasa') - CC Madhya 20.108
- We have become very proud of our education, but we tell material nature, "Thank you very much for kicking me. Now please continue." Thus deluded, we think that we have even conquered material nature. But how is this so
- We have been contaminated by this material affection. So one has to come out of it. That is the process of self-realization, liberation, whatever you call. The process is to come out of this contamination
- We have been continuously committing sinful activities since time immemorial, and we do not know when this began, but this life is meant for rectification of all the mistakes that we have committed
- We have been elevated to an exalted position by the mercy of Krsna and the spiritual master, and if we remember that this is a great opportunity and pray to Krsna that we will not fall again, our lives will be successful
- We have been habituated since time immemorial, many life after many life, simply for sense gratification. It is not very easy to give up the idea. Therefore sastra says even if you have got idea of sense gratification, still you take to KC
- We have been invited for preaching. They have mentioned taking care of all arrangement and expenses. If you are free you can go there and preach at this program
- We have been mortified by hearing unfavorable criticisms from the Mayavadi sannyasis against You," they (Tapana Misra and Candrasekhara) informed Lord Caitanya. "Indeed, it has become intolerable for us." They requested the Lord to do something
- We have been suffering from the beginning of our birth when as a baby we were tightly placed for nine months in the womb of a mother
- We have begun by presenting Bhagavad-gita As It Is, and we propose to present all the Vedic literature in terms of the direct meaning of its words

- We have come here within this material world to enjoy material resources. That is called pravrtti. And when we come to the platform of understanding that "I am not this body; I am soul," then my occupational duty changes
- We have come on this earth as guest for few years, say, for hundred years or fifty years; then we leave this place. So if I am the proprietor, why don't I take this place with me when I am going? No, I am not proprietor
- We have come to this material world and suffering, but the living entity is part and parcel of Krsna, or God. How he has come to this material world? That is very intelligent question
- We have come to this material world for sense gratification. This is pravrtti. Pravrtti means that is our natural propensity, inclination. We are simply making plans how to satisfy our senses. That is material life
- We have come to this material world, disobeying the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- We have come to Vrndavana. Let us follow the Gosvamis. Rupa raghunatha pade haibe akuti. We should be very, very anxious to follow the principles laid down by the six Gosvamis
- We have created a civilization simply working hard day and night, and the purpose is sense gratification. That's all. That is prohibited. Make your life simplified. Save your time for Krsna consciousness
- We have created a civilization that one must earn thousands of dollars, then he can live like a gentleman. Is that successful life? And for earning that thousands of dollars he has to work so hard, just like animal, beast. No. That is not successful life
- We have created a society for killing cows and eating the meat and maintaining slaughterhouse, in the name of religion. This is going on
- We have created dharma in two categories: one for enjoyment and one for renouncement. Both these things have to be given up. Neither enjoyment, nor renouncement. Then what is this philosophy? The philosophy is that you cannot renounce anything
- We have created so many dharmas: Hindu dharma, Mussulman dharma, Christian dharma. These are manufactured. Of course, there is indication how to execute dharma, but real dharma: when you come to the conclusion, vasudevah sarvam iti sa mahatma sudurlabhah
- We have created unnecessary problems simply by forgetting Krsna. This is the material nature. Bhave 'smin klisyamananam. Therefore you have to work so hard
- We have decided that next life we are going to Krsna. This is our decision - back home, back to Godhead
- We have described the symptoms of a sadhu, and we have stated that a sadhu should be accepted by his characteristics. It is not that we accept anyone who comes along and says, "I am a sadhu." The characteristics of a sadhu have to be present
- We have developed certain unnecessary qualities by material association, and by following the above process (hearing of the name, quality, form of God) we become free from that contamination
- We have different stages of our life - the bodily concept of life, the mental concept of life, the intellectual concept of life, and the spiritual concept of life. Actually we are concerned with the spiritual concept
- We have discovered many weapons to defend ourselves; therefore we are civilized. No. This eating, sleeping, sex life and defending, they are in the animal life. So that is not progress from the animal life
- We have discovered so many counteracting methods for diminishing our distressed condition, but if it is not sanctioned by God, these counteracting proposition will fail
- We have discovered so many weapons . . . That is gross, to be handled by senses. Even this nuclear weapon, it is handled by the scientists. But it is not by mantra. That science is still to be discovered by the modern scientists
- We have divided the Vedic literature into two. The knowledge which is coming in disciplic succession, that knowledge is mother, and this knowledge, by memory, with reference to the context of Vedic literature
- We have engaged in Your worship with many things and have offered sacrifices unto You, but we think that there is no need for so many arrangements to please Your Lordship

- We have no taste for spiritual upliftment. That taste we have lost. That is the stage of our present existence - forgetfulness. We do not know how our taste should be created, how our taste should be converted from material to spiritual
- We have not awakened yet our natural love for Krsna, so it requires practice, practicing this vidhi-bhakti, compulsory
- We have nothing to do other than listen, and by listening carefully, enlightenment is sure to come. Krsna will surely help, for He is seated within. We only have to make the effort and spare a little time
