- A devotee is the friend not only of human society but of all living entities, for he sees all living entities as sons of Godhead. He does not claim himself to be the only son of God and allow all others to be killed, thinking that they have no soul
- A devotee or a learned sage does not see any difference between a learned brahmana, a dog, an elephant or a cow because he knows that the body is the outer covering only and that the soul is actually part and parcel of the Supreme Lord
- A devotee's outlook should be that both the soul and Supersoul are equally present in all varieties of living entities
- A dog thinks that he is the body. He cannot think that he is not the body, he is the soul. That is not possible. Because he is born, he is entrapped in such a body, they cannot think that the animal, the cat and dog, is different from the body
- A full-fledged free soul like Narada, always engaged in chanting the Lord's glory, is free to move not only on earth but also in any part of the universe, as well as in any part of the spiritual sky
- A good son is called apatya, one who does not allow his father to fall down. The son can protect the father's soul when the father is dead by offering sacrifices to please the Supreme Lord, Visnu. This system is still prevalent in India
- A human being is inclined to hear good narrations and stories, and therefore there are so many books, magazines and newspapers on the market to satisfy the interests of the developed soul
- A Krsna conscious person will not distinguish like that. For eating animal, they will philosophize that animal has no soul; therefore it can be killed. No. This is nonsense
- A learned person's vision enables him to see them all equally. How is this? He does not see the body but the soul, the spiritual spark (Brahman). He thinks: Here is a dog, but it is also a living entity, although by his past karma he has become a dog
- A pure devotee also does not want liberation. He is a soul completely surrendered to the Supreme Lord, and he does not demand anything from the Lord. This position was realized by Dhruva Maharaja when he saw the Supreme Personality of Godhead present

- A soul comes into this material world and creates bodily relationships with a father, a mother, sisters, brothers, a wife and children, but all these relationships pertain to the body, not the soul

- Above the body there is mind; above the mind there is intelligence, and above the intelligence there is soul, and above the soul there is God. So we are talking of relationship between God and the soul. It is above body, mind and intelligence
- Above the five senses of perception, the five working senses and the five objects of the senses is the mind, which is the sixteenth element. Above the mind is the seventeenth element, the soul
- Above the mind is the intelligence. & above the intelligence is the spirit soul. If one is on the spiritual platform, on the soul platform, then his intelligence is spiritualized, his mind and senses are spiritualized, he is spiritualized
- Above the mind is the seventeenth element, the soul, the living being himself, who, in cooperation with the other sixteen, enjoys the material world alone. The living being enjoys three kinds of situations, namely happy, distressful and mixed

- Actually a living entity cannot be totally desireless, but when he desires the benefit of the soul and nothing else, he is said to be desireless

- In the SB it is also confirmed that when one becomes purified by executing the process of devotional service, especially by hearing Srimad-Bhagavatam or BG from realized souls, then he can understand the science of Krsna or the science of God. BG 1972 p

- In the second stage of self-realization, one comes to know that every soul, every individual living entity, is part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, Paramatma, or the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- In the Vaikuntha, or in the spiritual world, no contaminated soul can stay there. He will fall down
- In the Vedanta-sutras the living entity is qualified as light because he is part and parcel of the supreme light. As sunlight maintains the entire universe, so the light of the soul maintains this material body. BG 1972 purports
- In the Vedic literature it is said that the soul is always pure and uncontaminated by material attachment. The identification of the body with the soul is due to misunderstanding
- In the very beginning, the Lord says that this body is perishable and that the soul is not perishable. That is a confidential part of knowledge. BG 1972 purports
- In this society, Western society, the so-called learned men - they're supposed to be the topmost learned men - they don't even know of the soul. Therefore they're not even in the class of an ignorant man. They're lower than even ignorance
- In this verse (BG 3.42) Krsna explains that although we consider the senses to be very prominent, beyond the senses is something superior - the mind - beyond the mind is the intelligence, and beyond the intelligence is the soul

- Individual living entities are conditioned souls everlastingly, but in each and every material creation they are given a chance to liberate themselves and become free souls
- Intelligence is even finer (than the mind). Finer than intelligence is the soul, which is not matter like mind and intelligence but is spirit, or antimatter
- Intelligence is so gross that they simply see this gross body. But there is another, subtle body, and within that subtle body there is soul. So condition of the subtle body will carry you to another gross body
- Intelligent human beings must always remember that the soul obtains a human form after an evolution of many millions of years in the cycle of transmigration
- Intelligent souls
- It (the soul) has akara, but you cannot see with the blunt eyes. "Then how can I understand?" Srotriyam brahma-nistham, tad-vijnanartham sa gurum evabhigacchet (MU 1.2.12). You have to learn by hearing. There is no other process
- It appears that the soul can exist even through the bones, as shown by the personal example of Hiranyakasipu
- It has been seen that great mayavadi (impersonalist) sannyasis - very highly educated and almost realized souls - may sometimes take to political activities or to social welfare activities
- It is a fact that wherever we go, if we simply let the people hear our chanting and if we repeat what we have heard from the bona fide Spiritual Master, then surely many, many sincere souls will become attracted to our movement
- It is a fact that without self-understanding all activities result in ultimate defeat in the struggle for existence. Perhaps one has no idea that one must think of the soul, and also make a solution of the material miseries. BG 1972 purports
- It is a false theory that the soul has no form or God has no form. God has form and the soul has form: these are the Vedic information. Every one of us, we have got form, but the form is so small & minute that we cannot see with these gross material eyes
- It is a lump of matter at the present moment, then, after death or after the soul has gone from the body, it is the same lump of matter. Where is the cause of lamentation or jubilation? It is a lump of matter. This understanding is first required

- It is beyond intellectual. The intellect also belong to the body. But understanding of the soul is beyond intellectual
- It is clear in this (SB 4th canto chapter 28) verse that at the time of death thoughts of material enjoyment do not go away. This indicates that the living entity, the soul, is carried by the subtle body - mind, intelligence and ego
- It is customary among Hindus to carry a dying person to a nearby bank of the Ganges, for if one dies on the bank of the Ganges, his soul is considered to reach the lotus feet of Lord Visnu, wherefrom the Ganges flows
- It is displayed in a very scientific way, we are seeing that "My child is growing." It is not growing. The actual fact is the child is a soul, and the soul is changing every minute the body. That is real understanding
- It is foolish to think that every soul that passes away goes to the same place. Either the soul goes to a place he desires at the time of death, or upon leaving his body he is forced to accept a position according to his acts in his previous life
- It is for the conditioned living entities that the material nature is created, and the conditioned souls are put into it to become pure, unconditioned souls
- It is not a fact that the soul or Supersoul becomes poor simply because the body is poor. These are the statements of ignorant people. The soul and Supersoul are always apart from bodily pleasure and pain
- It is not possible to measure the soul, but that is not to say that it is without measurement
- It is not that only human being has got the soul, not others. No. Actually if we make analysis what is the symptoms of possessing soul, you will find everywhere. Even in plants' life you will find

- It is not wonderful for persons who have accepted the transient material body as the self to engage always in deriding great souls. Such envy on the part of materialistic persons is very good because that is the way they fall down

- It is stated in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 2.13): As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. The self-realized soul is not bewildered by such a change
- It is still more difficult to find a man who has actually derived full benefit from knowledge of the soul, and who is able to describe the position of the soul in different aspects. BG 1972 purports

- It may also be appropriate to explain, in these days of controversy, the origin of life. The life force of the living entity - the soul - is different from the ovum and semen of the human being
J

- Just like a thief is going to steal. The Supersoul is ordering, "Don't do it," because without God's sanction he cannot steal. But when the thief persists, then He says, "All right, you do at your risk." This is the position of the Supersoul and the soul
- Just like Krsna says that tad viddhi, that, that thing which is spreading consciousness, that is soul. Now you can perceive there must be something which is now absent, otherwise why there is no consciousness?
- Just like this body. Your body, my body, this is bahir-artha, external. Just like my, this wrapper. This is external. Real person is the soul. But they have no information of the soul, neither information of Visnu, the origin of soul
- Just like we say, geometrically, point has no length, no breadth. But actually that is not fact. It has got length and breadth, but we cannot measure it. Similarly, atma, the soul, has got length and breadth, but it is beyond our perception
- Just see how the rascal civilization is going on. They're thinking they're killing. This way killed, that way killed. No. You, it is sinful because you create inconvenience to that particular soul. He was taking shelter
- Just try to understand, you have to preach immortality of the soul, transmigration of the soul. What is the difficulty? Simple logic

- Kutinati, or diplomatic behavior, cannot satisfy the atma, the soul. It cannot even satisfy the body or the mind
L

- Let the Supreme Lord be merciful towards me. He is the one friend and soul of all living entities in the world, and He maintains all, for their ultimate happiness, by His six transcendental opulences
- Liberation means getting out of the clutches of the subtle body. Liberation from the gross body simply involves the transmigration of the soul from one gross body to another

- Many pseudo-devotees dress the outward material body because they confuse the body with the soul. They are mistaken when they think that the spiritual bodies of Krsna, Radharani and Their associates, the damsels of Vraja, are composed of material nature
- Material nature is the mother. Material nature gives the body. But the soul is part and parcel of God. A soul is given, impregnated, in the material nature, and they come out in so many species of life
- Materialistic scientists do not know where to find the soul within the body with their material instruments, but this verse (SB 6.1.31) clearly explains that the soul is within the core of the heart - hrdaya
- Matter interacts with matter, but the soul does not belong to the material world. This means that the soul is above material action and reaction
- Matter is activated by the spirit soul; it is not that the soul is created by matter

N

- Nandisvara's curse was that anyone who supported Daksa would be bereft of transcendental knowledge of the soul and thus also be deprived of knowledge of the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- Narada is eternally free to move in all parts of the transcendental and material creations of the Almighty. He appears and disappears in his own transcendental body, which is without distinction of body and soul, unlike conditioned beings
- Nasato vidyate bhavah. Asatah, or this material body, it has no endurance. It will not endure; it will not be permanently existing. Nabhavo vidyate satah: And the soul is permanent. He . . . it has no change; it will never be nonexistent

O
- O great soul, you are aware of everything, yet you are asking me why I am full of anxiety. Therefore, in response to your order, let me disclose the cause
- O killer of Kesi, we are souls one hundred percent surrendered unto Your lotus feet, and we wish only to please You with our ceremonies

- O King, in all circumstances, whether you consider the soul to be an eternal principle, or the material body to be perishable, or everything to exist in the impersonal Absolute Truth, or everything to be an inexplicable combination of matter and spirit
- O Lord, Your form is worshipable by performances of sacrifice, but souls who are simply miscreants are unable to see it. All the Vedic hymns, Gayatri and others, are in the touch of Your skin
- O Partha, how can a person who knows that the soul is indestructible, eternal, unborn and immutable kill anyone or cause anyone to kill?

- One may remain situated in his own place or his own occupational duty and still lend his ear to receive the message of the Lord from realized souls
- One minute before, the body was so important, and now, after one minute, the passing of the soul, it is useless; throw it away. Is it very difficult to understand?
- One minute, one can understand, there was something (the soul). And then you come to the guru, and guru teaches sastra. From sastra, immediately you can confirm
- One must find the soul by analysis, saying, "This is not it. This is not it." Thus one must separate spirit from matter
- One must know the necessities of the body and also the necessities of the soul. The real necessity in life is to supply the comforts of the soul, and the soul cannot be comforted by material adjustments

- One should invite a first-class brahmana or Vaisnava - a realized soul - and feed him while observing the sraddha ceremony to offer oblations to one's forefathers

- One should not view death with horror, nor have recourse to defining the body as soul, nor give way to exaggeration in enjoying the bodily necessities of life

- One who sees the Supersoul accompanying the individual soul in all bodies and who understands that neither the soul nor the Supersoul is ever destroyed, actually sees. BG 13.28 - 1972
- One who understands before death that the body is simply a lump of matter is called a wise man. He sees the soul through the eyes of knowledge. Those who are on the gross platform, who are like animals, can see neither the soul nor Bhagavan
- One who understands the importance of Krishna Consciousness must be a very fortunate soul. So I marked it in your person when I was in Boston, and I prayed to Krishna that this good soul may be aware of the importance of Krishna Consciousness
- One's consciousness must always be absorbed in Krsna, and then one's life will be successful. Otherwise the mind will carry the soul to another material body. The soul will be placed in the semen of a father and discharged into the womb of a mother
- Otherwise they would not be able to develop and grow - if 8,400,000 species of bodies, including plants and trees, would not have souls
- Our duty is heavy, to induce persons to come to this platform of consciousness; and if we can save even a single soul from the clutches of Maya, the value of such act is millions of times better than fruitive actions

- The individual soul has to understand his position by the grace of the Lord and the spiritual master because the text of Bhagavad-gita cannot be understood simply by academic qualifications. One has to learn Bhagavad-gita from a realized soul
- The infinitesimal soul, being unchangeable, can never become equal to the infinite soul, or the SP of Godhead. This concept is repeated in the Vedas in different ways just to confirm the stability of the conception of the soul. BG 1972 purports

- The instruments of action are the senses, and by senses the soul acts in various ways, and for each and every action there is a different endeavor. BG 1972 purports
- The intelligence is herein (SB 4.25.57-61) depicted as the Queen, and the soul, under mental control, follows the material intelligence just as the King (Puranjana) follows his wife
- The jiva soul says, I take shelter of the Supreme Lord. Therefore, constitutionally, the jiva soul is the subordinate servitor of the Supreme Soul, the Personality of Godhead
- The jnana process theoretically speculates about the reality of the soul. But bhakti-yoga factually engages the spirit soul in activities. The perception of matter is transcended to still subtler states of the senses
- The jnani division of spiritualists go on speculating only to distinguish the soul from matter, but they have no information of the activities of the soul after being liberated by knowledge
- The knot of doubtfulness is tied when the soul identifies with the material world. That knot is also called ahankara, the junction of matter and spirit

- The Lord is so kind that any soul who wants to enjoy in this material world is given full facility for enjoyment, and at the same time he is shown the path of salvation

- The magnitude of the soul is so small for our material calculation that he cannot be seen even by the most powerful microscope; therefore, he is invisible
- The magnitude of the soul is stated in the sastra, 1/10000 part of the tip of the hair. We cannot measure even the tip of the hair, and how we can measure it
- The main purposes of this institution is to develop the idea, within the members and humanity at large that each soul is part and parcel of the quality of Godhead Krishna
- The material body is just a covering of the spiritual soul. Mind and intelligence are the undercoverings, and the gross body of earth, water, air & so on is the overcoating of the soul
- The material body is just a covering of the spiritual soul. Mind and intelligence are the undercoverings, and the gross body of earth, water, air, etc., is the overcoating of the soul

- The material scientist cannot measure the length and breadth of a point. Therefore it is not possible for the material scientist to capture the soul
- The materialistic mind covering the living entity's soul carries it to different species of life. This is called continued material existence. Due to the mind, the living entity suffers or enjoys material distress and happiness
- The materialistic philosopher Darwin has tried to study the changes of the gross body, but because he had no knowledge of either the subtle body or the soul, he could not clearly explain how the evolutionary process is going on
- The materialistic scientists' contention that living entities other than human beings have no soul is nullified herein

- The message of God is just like Bhagavad-gita or Bible, any, as you like. Just try to hear, san-mukharitam vartam, from realized soul. Just like the truths of Bible were spoken by Lord Jesus Christ or Krsna
- The message should be heard attentively, and if spoken by a realized soul, it will act on the dormant heart of the conditioned soul. And by continuously hearing, one can attain the perfect stage of self-realization
- The mind is always telling us to do this or that; therefore we should be very expert in disobeying the mind's orders. Gradually the mind should be trained to obey the orders of the soul. It is not that one should obey the orders of the mind
- The mind's position is accepting and rejecting. Intellect helps the mind what to reject and what to accept. And that intelligence is of the soul. That ground of intelligence is the soul
- The modern theory that life is made possible by chemical evolution is not correct. Or the Darwin's Theory, evolution of matter. No. The . . . they are missing the soul

- The natural hankering of the minute spirit spark is for the qualities of the whole - knowledge, bliss, and eternality - but these hankerings are being frustrated due to the material body. The information on how to attain the soul's desire is given in BG
- The other forms of liberation maintain the individuality of the particle soul and involve being always engaged in the transcendental loving service of the Lord
- The outer skin, or the gross and subtle material coverings of the soul, automatically separates from the spirit soul, and the spirit soul can then exist in spiritual existence, even though apparently within the dry skin

- The present body may be finished grossly, but the subtle body is not finished; it carries the soul to the next body
- The process (Krsna Consciousness) is spiritual; it does not require any material qualifications. The speculators who are not realized souls are covered in delusion and are simply wasting their time
- The proof of the soul existing is that the consciousness is spread all over my body. As soon as I pinch any part of my body, I feel pain. Therefore I understand a soul is there
- The proprietor of the body, the living soul, becomes very sad at not being able to use the field of activities properly
- The purport is that as long as we are in this human form of body, our duty is to understand the soul within the body

- The purusa causes the birth of a child because the man injects the soul, which is sheltered in the semen, into the womb of the woman
- The quivering of the living entity is due to the senses. Since the entire material existence is meant for sense gratification, the senses are the medium of material activities, and they cause the quivering of the steady soul
- The real necessity of life is to supply the comforts of the soul. And the soul can be comforted not by material adjustment. Because soul is a different identity, the soul must be given spiritual food. That spiritual food is this Krsna consciousness
- The real perfection of yoga is elevation of the soul to a higher position or the liberation of the soul from material entanglement

- The Sadhyas and Pitas are invisible forms of departed souls, and they are also created by Brahma
- The sakama-karmis are greedy after insignificant, transient happiness. They make progress in their mundane activities and enjoy the heavenly planets in the life hereafter, but all that enjoyment is temporary. Therefore the soul's real benefit evades them

- The small particles of soul are just like sparks of the larger soul. The greatest soul is the Supersoul, but the Supersoul is quantitatively different from the small soul
- The smallness or greatness of different souls is described in the Varaha Purana as svamsa-vibhinnamsa. The svamsa soul is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and the vibhinnamsa souls, or small particles, are eternally small particles
- The so-called modern scientific world, advanced, they do not know what is the actual living force within this body which is moving this body. So long the soul or the living force is within this body, it is moving
- The so-called scientists of the modern age cannot see how the subtle body is working in carrying the soul from one body to another
- The soul after destruction of this body is being carried by the desire, but they have no eyes to see what is that desire, what is that soul, what is that intelligence. They are saying, "There is no soul" This is mostly stupidity
- The soul and the Supersoul are two. This material world is working by the conjunction of the soul and the twenty-four material elements. BG 1972 purports
- The soul and the Supersoul within the body are of the same spiritual quality. The similarity in the quality of the soul and the Supersoul, however, does not make them equal in quantity

- The soul can be solaced only by the mercy of Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and His many bona fide devotees

- The soul desires, and thus the body is formed. Krsna says in BG (18.61) - The Supreme Lord is situated in everyone's heart, O Arjuna, and is directing the wanderings of all living entities, who are seated as on a machine, made of the material energy
- The soul does not at any time become old, as the body does. The so-called old man, therefore, feels himself to be in the same spirit as in his childhood or youth. BG 1972 purports
- The soul does not need to eat anything; whatever we eat is for the upkeep of the body
- The soul exists, the mind exists, the intelligence exists, although they are not perceivable by these gross senses
- The soul from the spiritual platform sometimes jumps over the material ocean of nescience. The Vedic knowledge gives him specific instruction how to swim over but if he is a rascal, he does not take the instruction through the bona fide representative
- The soul goes to another body and we foolishly worship the dead body, which is useless. This is called bhutejya. In Sanskrit language it is called bhutejya. Ghost worship
- The soul has a particular type of body, he must eat a particular type of food. Can anyone, any scientist, improve the standard of living of a pig? Is it possible
- The soul has no death, but when the same pure soul desires to enjoy the material world independently, he is placed under the conditions of material nature and must therefore accept a certain type of body and suffer the pains and pleasures thereof
- The soul has nothing to do with the material elements. Any material element can be cut to pieces, especially earth. As far as the living entity is concerned, however, he can be neither burned nor cut to pieces. He can therefore live within fire
- The soul in his pure state of existence should be in Krsna consciousness. When a person is not acting in Krsna consciousness, he is understood to be acting in material consciousness
- The soul in the universal body, although of the same quality, is different from the soul in the smaller body

- The soul is ever-existing, and the body will not exist. And because you are existing and the soul has accepted the nonexisting body, therefore you suffer
- The soul is extremely dear to everyone, and similarly the Supersoul is also dear to everyone. Thus there cannot be any faulty action on the part of the Supersoul
- The soul is full of knowledge, or full always with consciousness. Therefore, consciousness is the symptom of the soul. BG 1972 purports
- The soul is given different types of bodies. For example, were souls not given varieties of tree bodies, the different varieties of fruits and flowers could not be produced
- The soul is hundreds of thousands of times finer and more powerful than intelligence. We can thus only imagine the velocity of the soul in its traveling from one planet to another
- The soul is inconceivable by human experimental knowledge. The soul is consciousness and conscious—that also is the statement of the Vedas, and we have to accept that

- The soul is of the same quality in all. You are under a certain conception of life at the present moment

- The soul is permanent, and only the body has changed. This is a very easy thing to understand. And the last change of this body is death
- The soul is sometimes described as purusa because whether one is dressed as a man or a woman, one is inclined to enjoy this material world. One who has this spirit of enjoyment is described as purusa

- The soul, although subjecting himself to the conditions of the body, can be beyond those conditions, if he so desires. Owing only to forgetfulness of his superior nature, he identifies with the material body, and therefore suffers. BG 1972 purports
- The soul, from the monkey's body is coming to human body, not that the monkey's body is changing into human body
- The soul, however, does not go through such changes (the six kinds of transformations the body is subjected to). The soul is not born, but, because he takes on a material body, the body takes its birth. BG 1972 purports
- The soul, however, remains the same. It is said that by modern medical treatment a male can be transformed into a female, & a female into a male. The body, however, has no connection with the soul. The body can be changed, either in this life or the next
- The soul, must work alone. Although he tries to create society, friendship and love, no one will be able to help him but Krsna, the Supreme Lord. Therefore his only concern should be how to satisfy Krsna. That is also what Krsna wants
- The soul, part and parcel of God, wanted to imitate God's supremacy, and they wanted to enjoy. But in the spiritual world there cannot be second enjoyer

- The transcendentalists affirm that the soul and the Supersoul are two different identities, qualitatively one but quantitatively different
- The Vedas, like the Mundaka Upanisad, as well as the Svetasvatara Upanisad, compare the soul and the Supersoul to two friendly birds sitting on the same tree
- The Vedic instruction is so nice that the soul, when he jumps over this material ocean, the Vedic instruction teaches him how to swim and come back again to the shore. This swimming process is called sacrifice, charity and penance

- The woman, as the material cause, supplies the body of the soul, and as the efficient cause she gives birth to the child

- The word anatmyam is very significant in this verse (SB 4.9.31). Atma means the soul, and anatmya means without any conception of the soul

- There are two kinds of soul - the Supreme Soul (the Personality of Godhead) and the individual soul (the living entity). As various bodily changes take place in the individual soul, different millenniums of creation take place in the Supreme Soul
- There are various species of living entities, but a devotee does not see the outward covering; he sees the inner soul inhabiting the body
- There is a gulf of difference between the living entity (atma) and the controlling Lord (Paramatma), the soul and the Supersoul. Paramatma is the controller, and the atma is the controlled; therefore they are in different categories

- There is no instrument existing in the material universe by which one can actually see the soul. Because of our inability to perceive the soul, we say it is nirakara, formless
- There is no other source of understanding the soul except by studying the Vedas. In other words, the soul is inconceivable by human experimental knowledge. BG 1972 purports
- There is nothing to be lamented in the case of the soul's being transferred into another body, or the material body's perishing at a certain stage
- There is so much evidence, not only in the Vedic literature but even by ordinary experience. The soul is there
- There is some hole. From that hole the soul goes out to any planet he likes. That is perfection of yoga. But here in your country (Australia) the yoga means a certain type of exercise
- There is soul. This is the proof there is soul. This is the proof. What is that proof? First of all there is consciousness. This is the proof. But you cannot measure. The place is also located. The soul is there in the heart
- These are the general principles to be followed by all human beings: considering whether one is the body or the soul, distributing food equally to all living entities (both men and animals)
- These are the general principles to be followed by all human beings: seeing every soul (especially in the human form) as a part of the Supreme Lord
- These boys and girls, they're getting some pleasure, transcendental pleasure. Therefore they're dancing. It is not that the dog-dance. It is really spiritual dance, the soul's dance. Therefore, He's called rasa-vigraha, reservoir of all pleasure.
- These material elements, they are inferior quality, and beyond this, there is another, superior quality. That is soul. - Jiva-bhutam maha-baho yayedam dharyate jagat (BG 7.5). So you have to know from the books
- These material pains and pleasure, they are simply touching this body, not the soul. Soul is always aloof. Just like we are on a car. Suppose there is some accident: the car is broken, but not the person
- These people say the animals have no soul. But that's all right, but he's feeling pain when you are killing the animal. So you also feel pain. So why should you give pain to others? That is Lord Buddha's theory
- These senses are to be detached from all such material activities. According to the impersonalists the senses are stopped from work by merging the soul in the Supersoul Brahman
- They (Krsna's personal associates) are mostly looking on with tears in their eyes, and in the enthusiasm of their service they are not afraid even of the devastating fire generated by Lord Siva. They are souls simply surrendered unto Your lotus feet
- They (materialistic scientists) cannot see the mind, intelligence, or false ego, what to speak of the soul. Therefore they say, "The body is everything, and there is nothing more." Actually, however, that is not a fact
- They (people) do not know how to become free from their material encagement. Rsabhadeva said that such activity is not at all good, since it encages the soul again and again in a body subjected to the threefold miseries of the material condition
- They (the citizens of the state) should preach the principles of Bhagavatam by (a) karma-yoga, or doing everything for the satisfaction of the Lord, (b) regular hearing of the Srimad-Bhagavatam from authorized persons or realized souls
- They (the demons) conclude that as a child is simply the result of sexual intercourse between man and woman, this world is born without any soul. BG 1972 purports

- This (brahma-bhuta) realization is sometimes explained as nirakara, or formlessness. This formlessness does not mean that the soul has no form. The soul has form, but the external, agitating form he has acquired because of material contamination is false
- This argument (that bodily desginations like pain and pleasure are felt by the soul) put forward by Maharaja Rahugana is correct from the practical point of view, but it arises from an attachment to the bodily conception
- This body is made of earth, water, fire, air and ether. This is called gross external energy, and there is also a subtle external energy of mind, intelligence and false ego. And behind that, the soul is there
