A
- A child is born and the material nature is killing this child every moment. The child has grown, two years old. That means material nature has already killed this child for two years. How you can stop this?
- A citizen of the state may be in miseries for want of sufficient supervision by the state authority, but how can it be possible that a citizen suffers from other citizens while the chief of the state is personally present

- Demigods situated in the mode of goodness and great saints cleansed of the dirt of material enjoyment hardly ever render pure devotional service at the lotus feet of Mukunda. (Therefore how could Vrtrasura have become such a great devotee?)
- Dhruva said, "So how can the fruitive workers, who at most can aspire to promotion to the higher heavenly planets, understand You, and how can they be described as enjoying a happiness similar to the devotees' happiness"
- Diksa cannot be offered to a sudra. But in this age, Kali-yuga, it is the statement of the sastras that in the Kali-yuga most of the population are sudras. Kalau sudra sambhavah. How they can be initiated

- Father-mother, they are teaching daughters prostitution. This is the condition of the society. How there can be peace? And they are after peace. They are making conference - peace
- Fighting is not a very good thing, but still, the fighting spirit is there in the Absolute Truth. Otherwise, how fighting can be exhibited?
- First of all you answer me, that if you are a student, how you can know who is perfect teacher? (laughter) So you do not know what is your position. If you are a student, then you should go to the teacher submissively, not that strong attitude
- First of all you have to decide whether sex life is good or bad. First of all you have to understand this. If you think that sex life is very nice, then how can you give it up? It is not possible

- Generally people are addicted, infected with the qualities of ignorance and passion. How he can understand Krsna? It is not possible. So one has to engage himself this devotional service

- How can it be (study of Krsna finish)? Krsna has unlimited energy
- How can one be accepted as the Supreme Personality of Godhead who is addicted to more than sixteen thousand wives? This question may be relevantly raised by inquisitive persons really anxious to know about the transcendental nature of the Supreme Lord
- How can one be happy? I have already explained the gross external energy and the subtle external energy. Those who are interested in this gross and subtle external energy will never have their ambition of life fulfilled
- How can one be in a pure state of spiritual existence as long as he is strongly held by the modes of material nature? This is also an indication to the false meditator
- How can one become formless and at the same time have all intelligence and consciousness, direct and indirect? So there are many things for a pure devotee to learn, and he should learn them perfectly from a bona fide personality like Sukadeva Gosvami

- How can one describe unfathomable subject matters? It is possible only if Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu gives him the capability
- How can one expect real knowledge from such conditioned souls? There is no possibility of receiving actual knowledge from them
- How can one expect to be reformed if he does not agree or like to be reformed. To be reformed, he must agree to the reforming process
- How can one live in the forest and not be taken care of by anyone? But the answer, given by a great authority, Narada Muni, is that such persons are well protected by the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- How can one not accept Krsna as the Supreme Lord and yet dare to speak on Bhagavad-gita? We will never derive any benefit from listening to the commentaries of such people. Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam should be heard from the devotees

- How can one who is full in Himself (God) take pleasure in the association of many women? How can He take wives and, just like a householder, take pleasure in the association of family members, children, relatives and parents

- How can there be two sets of calves and boys at the same time? Have the boys and calves here been created by Krsna, or has Krsna created the ones lying asleep? Or are both merely creations of Krsna? Brahma thought about the subject in many different ways
- How can these questions (Why am I suffering? Wherefrom have I come? What is my constitutional position? etc.) be solved? Sukadeva Gosvami says: nasnatah pathyam evannam vyadhayo 'bhibhavanti hi, evam niyamakrd rajan sanaih ksemaya kalpate - SB 6.1.12

- How can we show our mercy to everyone? There are millions and millions of poor people, so how can we show them all mercy
- How can we tell if one is completely surrendered unto the spiritual nature?
- How can we understand that it (consciousness) is there? We can understand the supreme consciousness and our individual consciousness simply by perception of blissfulness. Because we have consciousness, we can feel ananda, or pleasure
- How can we, as sons of God, assert our personality and individuality and at the same time deny them to our Father, the Supreme Lord
- How can You be purified, therefore, by the dust of the path traversed by the brahmanas, and how can You be glorified or made fortunate by the marks of Srivatsa on Your chest?
- How can you boastly say that "I don't believe in God"? This very power of speaking is the proof that there is the greatest authority who gives you everything
- How can you cheat Krsna by so-called forest-going? Because your enemy, your senses, have gone with you. So how you can get out by going to the forest? Because your real enemies are your senses
- How can you deny that there is no consciousness in the matter of sun rising, moon rising, seasonal changes, and so many planets floating in the air? So many wonderful things are being done in the material nature
- How can you get knowledge without authoritative studies of books and science and philosophy?
- How can you overpower the material energy? It is not possible. That is explained in Bhagavad-gita. It is not possible to overcome the stringent laws of material nature. Krsna says, - It is My energy; I am the controller. But one can surrender unto Me
- How can you save yourself, not become a cockroach? Because the body is changing. That is in other's hand, Karmana daiva-netrena (SB 3.31.1). By superior supervision. It is not your choice

- How we can get that eternal life, eternal nature, eternal happiness and eternal knowledge - the Bhagavad-gita is meant for that purpose. If you are interested for eternity, then Bhagavad-gita is very congenial
- How we can guide the people? How we can become teacher? How we can become leader?
- How we can manufacture God? That is not possible. So that is called mana-dharma. By mental concoction, mental speculation, we cannot create God
- How we can recognize God? Some supernatural power, evidence of authorities, scriptural evidence
- How we can transfer into that kingdom of light? The whole human civilization is based on these principle

- How you can approach God with sinful life? That is not possible. That is simply bogus thing, that you keep your sinful life, at the same time you want to see God, you want to talk with God. That is not possible
- How you can become representative of Krsna? That is explained by Caitanya Mahaprabhu: yare dekha, tare kaha 'krsna'-upadesa, amara ajnaya guru hana tara' ei desa
- How you can become svami? Because we are falsely thinking that "I am the proprietor. I am the enjoyer. I am the leader. I am the friend of my family, my society, my nation," so many ways, you have to convert these things
- How you can do business? I am doing business because I have got all these things. I went to America - land. Then I worked - labor. Then I earned some capital, and I have got brain how to do it
- How you can engage your mind in the Supreme Personality of Godhead if you do not know the form? Therefore Krsna comes in His original form
- How you can finish Bhagavatam in seven days? You cannot finish even one word. My Guru Maharaja explained Srimad-Bhagavatam, the first verse, janmady asya yatah (SB 1.1.1), in Dacca, for three months. Actually it is so profound
- How you can get freedom life. This is the movement. This Krsna consciousness movement is for that purpose; otherwise, what is the utility of this movement? It is not an "ism" just to make some temporary appeasement
- How you can say God is dead? God is not dead, but we are dead to appreciate the function of God. We are dead
- How you can say God is dead? If there is some mismanagement, you can say there is no government, but if there is nice management, how you can say there is no government? So God is there. You do not know God
- How you can say that God is dead? What is your reason? No. God is not dead. God is alive, and you can meet also God because He is a person and you are a person
- How you can say that whatever you see, it is perfect? I am seeing now things under certain condition; next moment I will see things under certain other condition. So as the condition changes, therefore my sight also changes in different ways
- How you can say that without the control of the Supreme Lord this material world has come into being? There is no sufficient reasoning. They say because they are not very intelligent. Therefore Krsna says mudha
- How you can say there is no soul? The same symptoms of life there. Just like the symptoms of life means it takes birth at a certain date, then it grows, it stays, it gives some by-products, then dwindles, then vanishes. Either you take tree or human body
- How you can say you are not dependent on God? You are dependent. But because you are a rascal fraud, you want to cheat and become a Freud, that's all
- How you can think of Krsna unless you develop love for Krsna?
- How you can trace out the history of Vedas? Vedas means knowledge. Vedas means knowledge. So first of all find out from which date knowledge began. Then you find out the date of the Vedas
- How you can understand the subtle laws of God? You are dull brain, with cow dung. You cannot understand
- Human life is a chance to get out of this miserable condition. That should be the aim of life: how to get out of this miserable condition of life. That requires knowledge how we are suffering, how it can be mitigated
- Human life is meant for realization of God. That is the only necessity, not to increase a type of civilization how instead of eating simple thing, how you can eat beef. That is not advancement of civilization. That is animalism

- I (Kesava Kasmiri) recited all the verses like the blowing wind. How could You (Caitanya) completely learn by heart even one among those verses
- I am a mendicant and have no money. How can I clear My debt for the favor you have shown Me
- I am cutting throat of one poor animal under my protection. If somebody cuts my throat, how much I am unhappy. And I'm doing the same business and I'm human being? How can I call myself a human being? I have no sense even of compassion

- If man does not allow the animals peaceful coexistence, how can he expect peaceful existence in human society?
- If no one knows the Supreme Personality of Godhead, how can He be known? He can be known when the Supreme Lord comes before you and reveals Himself to you. Then you can know

- If one's dreams during sleep are merely subject matters witnessed by the Supersoul, how can the living entity, who is different from the Supersoul, remember the activities of dreams? The experiences of one person cannot be understood by another
- If people commit such sinful activities (killing animals), how can they be happy? This killing should not be done, and therefore people are unhappy
- If someone claims to have the best religion, we ask, "Tell us how to love God. What is your process of loving God? If you do not know your relationship with God and others' relationship, then how can you love God?" That process of loving God is lacking
- If someone gives you one piece of paper, "Yes, it is $10 note," then are you not cheated? You must know what is $10 note. Otherwise you'll be satisfied with a paper, piece of paper. That's all. If you do not know God, then how you can see God?
- If someone is ignorant and addicted to the path of samsara, how can one who is actually learned, merciful and advanced in spiritual knowledge engage him in fruitive activity and thus further entangle him in material existence?
- If the Absolute Truth can possibly be covered by ignorance, how can it be said to be Absolute?
- If the Absolute Truth is beyond measurement, one may ask, how can one realize Him? The answer is given here by the word svayambhuve: one may understand Him or not, but nevertheless He is existing in His own spiritual potency
- If the cause is fact, then the effect is also fact. Just like cotton. If cotton is fact, then the thread is also fact. How you can say that thread is false and cotton is fact? That is not possible
- If the central point is missing, how can there be brotherhood and peace
- If the citizens of the (secular) state are not educated in the above-mentioned (in SB 7.11.8-12) good qualities, how can there be happiness

- If the leaders do not do everything for the satisfaction of the transcendental senses of Godhead, how can they expect to drag themselves or their followers from the mire of sins committed in the course of discharging prescribed duties?
- If the living entity is eternally a fragmental part, how can he become one with the whole? The part is never equal to the whole. That is an axiomatic truth. So it is a wrong conception to try to become equal to God
- If the Lord gives enlightenment from within, how can one be in ignorance? Therefore the allegation of the Mayavadis that the devotional path is for the unintelligent or uneducated is untrue

- If the sun is 93,000,000 miles and moon is above the sun 1,600,000, then how they can go to the moon planet in four days? It requires seven and a half months. That is my challenge
- If the Supreme Being is maintaining millions of trillions of living entities, He is great, or the living entities who are maintained by God, they are great? Therefore God is great & we are subordinate. This is natural conclusion. How you can go otherwise

- If you argue that, "Cow is an animal. So animal stool is impure. How the cow stool can become pure?" that is puzzling, but it is ordered by the Vedas, it is fact. You analyze cow stool, you find all antiseptic matter
- If you become leader, so-called leader, rascal leader, and you are addicted to illicit sex and intoxication and meat-eating, you must be si . . . if you are sinful, how you can lead persons?

- If you say that we can see the sun by telescope and this and that, they are also made by you, and you are imperfect. So how can your machine be perfect
- If you say you have measured by, what is called, telescope and other machinery. So what is this measuring? You are imperfect, and your machine must be imperfect. How you can measure or manufacture a perfect machine? It is not possible

- Kamsa began to think in perplexity, "Shall I go immediately and surrender unto Him? But how can a great warrior do this?" The next moment he thought, "Why should I be afraid of Him? There are still so many wrestlers standing to support me"
- Kamsa was astonished. Since Devaki was a human being, how could the goddess Durga become her daughter? This was one cause of his astonishment. Also, how is it that the eighth child of Devaki was a female? This also astonished him
- Kesava Kasmiri first depreciated the Lord’s position. Because Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was to the champion a student of grammar, how could He dare criticize a great poet like him? Lord Caitanya, therefore, criticized the poet in a different way
- King Nagnajit presented himself before the Lord, "You (Krsna) are self-sufficient and pleased with Your personal opulences, so how can I offer You anything? And how could I please You by such an offering?"
- King Pariksit continued, "How then can Brahman, the Absolute Truth, be described by your words? I do not see how it is possible to understand transcendence from such expressions of material sound"
- King Pariksit continued, "Since the mind is material and the vibration of words is a material sound, how can the Vedic knowledge, expressing by material sound the thoughts of the material mind, approach transcendence"
- Knowledge does not mean that how you can manufacture nuclear weapon. That is not knowledge. That is illusion
- Krishna is not an ordinary human being. How can you think that Krishna is contradicting Himself in His own statements? It is your concoction.The jiva is jivatma and Krishna is paramatma. Where is the contradiction?
- Krsna comes down to teach us how we can enjoy with Him on the spiritual platform, in the spiritual world. Not only does He come, but He personally displays His pastimes in Vrndavana and attracts people to spiritual enjoyment
- Krsna consciousness means you have to study everything, how things are going on. And this is stated. You have to simply think, "Yes." You have to confirm by your brain. If you have got dull brain, then how you can study
- Krsna does not die. Otherwise, how He could remember? This is the reason. You try to understand all this reasoning. You have to preach. This is the reason. Because Krsna says that, "I remember everything," therefore Krsna does not die
- Krsna has actually shown His universal form and His fourhanded Visnu form. So how can He be an ordinary human being? BG 1972 purports
- Krsna has come to you to give you nice instruction how you can go back to home, back to Godhead. That is Krsna's mission. He comes Himself, Krsna, and He comes as Caitanya Mahaprabhu, as devotee of Krsna
- Krsna has no such bodily conception, nor is His body different from His self. Therefore, since Krsna has no material conception of life, how can He be affected by material prayers and accusations
- Krsna Himself certifies this place duhkhalayam asasvatam (BG 8.15). It is a place for miserable condition of life. Now, how you can make it a happy place? That is not possible
- Krsna is asking me to tell lie. "Yes, I shall tell lie." That is bhakti. If I consider, "Oh, I never spoken lies in my life. How can I speak lie?" that is not bhakti. Because it is pratikula, against Krsna's desire. Common people cannot understand this
- Krsna is God, and God is one; He cannot be two. So how could there be another God to become the son of Vasudeva and Devaki? Krsna therefore said, - It is not possible to find another God, so I Myself shall become your son
- Krsna is greater than the greatest, being unlimited and all-pervading. How can it be possible for the all-pervading to be measured or bound? Then again, Krsna is the time factor. Therefore, He is all-pervading not only in space but also in time
- Krsna is not some "extraordinary person who was also born." He is not born. So how can I decide He is an ordinary man
- Krsna means "all-attractive." So unless God is all-attractive, how can He be God? A man is important when he is attractive

- Krsna said, "How could it be possible that he has conquered the strength of Balaramaji and taken away My father, arresting him as described by this man? Alas! Destiny is, after all, very powerful”
- Krsna said, "How could Salva possibly enter the city and arrest My father in that way? Whatever Salva may be, his power is limited, so how could it be possible that he has conquered the strength of Balaramaji"
- Krsna says specifically in Bhagavad-gita that prakrti, maya, is working under His directions. Maya is the maidservant of Krsna, and if we are the servants of maya, how can we be Krsna, Bhagavan
- Krsna says, most authoritative statement, and giving the example, dehino 'smin yatha dehe kaumaram . . . (BG 2.13). So how you can check this dehantara
- Krsna went on speaking, "After all, your husbands are householders, and without your help how can they execute their prescribed duties"
- Krsna's name, attributes and form are Absolute Truth, existing before the creation. Therefore, how can those who are created - that is, those entrapped in bodies created of material elements - understand Krsna perfectly? This is not possible
- Kuntidevi, by humble submissing that: You are meant for the paramahamsa, for the amalatmanam, for the muninam & who are engaged in bhakti-yoga. And what we are? We are simply woman. We are in the lower grade. How we can understand You? This is humbleness

- Lamentation, aggrievement and bewilderment are characteristics of conditioned souls, but how can such things affect the person of the Supreme, who is full of knowledge, power and all opulence?
- Logicians say, "Unless one gains understanding through logic and argument, how can one decide upon a worshipable Deity?"
- Lord Brahma, was asked by Hiranyakasipu to make him immortal. He was undergoing severe penances to become immortal. So Lord Brahma immediately said, - I am not immortal. How can I give you the benediction of immortality? That is not possible
- Lord Buddha denied the authority of Vedas. Because people will give evidence that, You are preaching no animal-killing, but in the Vedas sometimes in sacrifice the animals are sacrificed. How you can stop this
- Lord Caitanya has said that this KC Movement will spread to every nook and corner of the world - so there is no doubt it will happen. He is God, so how can He be wrong? So it will happen
- Lord Jesus Christ said that, "You hate the sin, not the sinner." Not the sinner. This is very nice. Because sinner is illusioned. He's mad. If you hate him, then how you can deliver him
- Lord Krsna said, "If this is so, how can ordinary kings, who falsely think themselves the most powerful beings within the material world, usurp a brahmana's property? I do not think that taking poison is as dangerous as taking a brahmana's property"
- Lord Krsna says that "One who restrains his senses and fixes his consciousness upon Me is known as a man of steady intelligence." Otherwise there can be no conviction. How can a man be convinced who will not accept? Krsna says hear from me - tatsrnu
- Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu showed us how one can enjoy transcendental bliss simply by chanting, hearing and dancing in ecstasy. This is bhakti-yoga
- Loud (kirtan), they are very good. How can you stop it? As soon as you chant, somebody... That you cannot check. You may stop mrdanga. That's all
- Love for Krsna, or God, how you can develop or how you can awaken, that is explained by Krsna in this verse. Mayy asakta-manah partha yogam yunjan mad-asrayah. You have to increase your attachment
- Love of God cannot be checked by any material impediments. You cannot say that "I am very poor. Oh, how can I love God?" You cannot say, "I am very rich," or "I am black," "I am white," "I am this," "I am that." No. In any condition you can love God

- Mahajano yena gatah. You cannot manufacture your ways of thinking. What you are? You are most insignificant living entity. And without following the acaryas, without following the mahajanas, without following the sastra, how you can teach
- Maharaja Pariksit inquired: O great sage, how could things done in the past have been described as being done at the present - SB 10.12.41
- Many so-called brahmanas attempt to fight us, saying, “How can you create a brahmana out of a European or American? A brahmana can be born only in a brahmana family.” They do not consider that this is never stated in any revealed scripture
- May we inquire from you (swan) whether Krsna is happy? We want to know. Does He remember us? We know that goddess of fortune is serving Him alone. We are simply maidservants. How can we worship Him, who speaks sweet words but never fulfills our desires
- Maya, the illusory energy, is under the control of Krsna, so how could maya control Him? One who thinks that Krsna, like us, is controlled by maya is described in Bhagavad-gita as mudha, a fool (avajananti mam mudha manusim tanum asritam) - BG 9.11
- Modern so-called scientists, who do not fully understand the moon, describe the moon as being full of deserts. Since the moon is the source for our vegetation, how can the moon be a desert?
- Modes of nature are persistent in every corner of the universe, and since brahmanas, ksatriyas, and so forth are simply products of the modes of nature, how can one say that the four castes do not exist in a particular part of the world? This is absurd
- Mother (Paurnamasi), just try to understand My (Radharani's) situation, and don't be unnecessarily angry with Me. Instead, please tell Me how I can save Myself from these terrible attacks of Krsna!
- My (Vasudeva's) dear brother-in-law Kamsa, you are the pride of the Bhoja dynasty, and great heroes praise your qualities. How could such a qualified person as you kill a woman, your own sister, especially on the occasion of her marriage? - SB 10.1.37
- My dear Lord, any learned person knows that unless he worships You, his entire life is spoiled. Knowing this, how could he give up worshiping Your lotus feet? Even our father and spiritual master, Lord Brahma, unhesitatingly worshiped You
- My dear lord, Sukadeva Gosvami, although Vrtrasura was a sinful demon, he showed the prowess of a most exalted ksatriya and satisfied Lord Indra in battle. How could such a demon be a great devotee of Lord Krsna?
- My dear Lord, You can act as You please. No one can say anything to restrict You. Nevertheless, the entire world is impudent. People can say anything. How can You stop them?
- My point is if your basic principle is wrong, then how you can make a perfect proposal?

- Nanda Maharaja and the other gopas exclaimed: My dear friends, you must know that Anakadundubhi, Vasudeva, has become a great saint or a master of mystic power. Otherwise how could he have foreseen this calamity and predicted it to us? - SB 10.6.32
- Nanda Maharaja was surprised that Yasoda, Krsna's mother, could have bound her beloved child in such a way. Krsna was exchanging love with her. How then could she have been so cruel as to bind Him to the wooden mortar
- Narakan narah nanogra-yatanan neyat tan me: "How can they be delivered from their fierce miseries and horrible pains?" That is typical of a Vaisnava heart
- Narottama dasa Thakura's songs are very appropriate just to the conclusion of Vedic injunctions. So he sings this song (Gauranga Bolite Habe), how one can rise up to transcendental plane for associating directly with Radha & Krsna, what is that process

- Now, what do you consider the dearmost thing? Have you analyzed? You yourself are the dearmost thing. I am sitting here, but if there is a fire alarm I shall at once take care of myself: How can I save myself
- Now, what was to be done? How could both the killing of this demon (Aghasura) and the saving of the devotees be performed simultaneously - SB 10.12.28
- Nowadays they (ksatra-bandhu) are promoted to such exalted posts by the votes of the people who are themselves fallen in the rules and regulations of life. How can such people select a proper man when they are themselves fallen in the standard of life?
- Nrsimha-deva - one thing for Hiranyakasipu, one thing for Prahlada. That is not God's discrimination, that is natural. Krsna says: samo 'ham sarva-bhutesu (BG 9.29): "I am equal to everyone." Otherwise, if He's not equal to everyone, how He can be God?

- Perfect knowledge, how it can come? The perfect knowledge can come from the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This is the process of acquiring knowledge, so far we are concerned. Evam parampara-praptam imam rajarsayo viduh
- Perfection is achieved by performance of yajna (sacrifice), as described above (BG 4.31). Now, if a person is not inclined to perform yajna according to the Vedas, how can he expect a happy life? BG 1972 purports

- Radharani addressed Lalita, I wish to offer My obeisances at your lotus feet. What shall I do? Please consider My condition and advise Me how I can become peaceful, even for a moment. That is My desire
- Raja-vidya may be further defined as not only knowing what one is, but acting accordingly. If we do not know who we are, how can our activities be proper
- Real friend is Krsna. I can work on His behalf. How I can work? You try. If you actually want to do something good to your family, then you try to make all the members of your family Krsna conscious
- Religion means abiding by the orders of Krsna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. If one is not qualified to talk with Him and take lessons from Him, how can one understand the principles of religion
- Rukmini continued, "Although You (Krsna) do not possess anything, the great demigods who accept prayers and worship from others come and worship You to solicit Your mercy. How can You be categorized among the poor"
- Rukmini continued, "How can I be a fit match for You? There is no possibility of comparison with You, who are the master of all greatness, the controller of the three qualities and the object of worship for great demigods like Brahma and Lord Siva"
- Rukmini continued, "O unlimited one (Krsna), when the activities and endeavors of Your devotees remain a mystery to the common human beings, how can Your motives and endeavors be understood by them"

- Sai Baba, he also says, "I am Bhagavan." Therefore he's bogus. How you can say yourself that you are Bhagavan, God? What is your power?
- Saibya said, "I am sterile and have no co-wife. How can this girl be my daughter-in-law? Please tell me." Jyamagha replied, "My dear Queen, I shall see that you indeed have a son and that this girl will be your daughter-in-law"
- Sanatana further inquired, "Who am I? Why are the threefold miseries always giving me trouble? And finally, tell me how I can be relieved from this material entanglement?"
- Sanatana Gosvami said, "I am a very insignificant living entity. I am low and poorly behaved. How can I understand who is the incarnation for this Age of Kali"
- Sannyasi is not enjoyer. But His description is enjoyer. Now how enjoyer can be sannyasi? But He is still sannyasi - renounced, everything. That is the point
- Separation from Krsna has made these servants very unhappy. Having lost consciousness, how can they answer us
- Sevonmukhe hi jihvadau svayam eva sphurat adah (Brs. 1.2.234). God will reveal Himself to us. We cannot see God with our blunt eyes. How then can we see Him
- Sex philosophy. This is their education. So how can you expect gentlemen? It is not possible. From the very beginning there is no culture, animal culture. Just like dog: as soon as he finds another female dog, he wants to have sex. This is education

- She (Kuntidevi) was so submissive that she prayed, Krsna, You are meant to be understood by the paramahamsas, the most advanced transcendentalists, but I am a woman, so how can I see You
- Simply by His (God's) breathing, millions of universes are created and dissolved. If this is the case, then how can the living entities claim proprietorship over anything
- Simply by rubber-stamping, how one can become devotee? That is not possible. Without going the pancaratriki-vidhi, they remain the same unclean drunkard and the all nonsense habits
- Simply cultivate Krsna consciousness favorably: "How I can become a lover of Krsna?" That is wanted
- Since Devahuti is gradually coming to the point of surrender, her questions are very intelligent. How can one be liberated
- Since everyone in this age is an unintelligent, unfortunate and disturbed sudra, how can anyone understand the Absolute Truth or the aim of life
- Since neither Lord Siva nor you nor I could ascertain the limits of spiritual happiness, how can other demigods know it
- Since pure devotees give up their homes, wives, children, relatives, riches and even their lives simply to serve Me, without any desire for material improvement in this life or in the next, how can I (Krsna) give up such devotees at any time
- Since Sanatana knew that there would be many pretenders, he asked the Lord, How can one understand the symptoms of an incarnation
- Since the bull and cow are your father and mother, how can you kill and eat them? What kind of religious principle is this? On what strength are you so daring that you commit such sinful activities?
- Since the Lord is equally disposed toward everyone, how can He be partial?
- Since the Supreme Lord of such eternal and unchangeable qualities is never subjugated by anything like material influence, how can His activities and form be conceived to be under the influence of illusory maya, as is the case with the living entities
- Sisupala continued, "Under these circumstances, how can He (Krsna) be fit to accept the first worship in the sacrifice?"
- Sisupala said, "I cannot understand how you have selected this cowherd boy, Krsna, and have left aside all these great personalities. I think Krsna to be no better than a crow - how can He be fit to accept the first worship in this great sacrifice?"
- Small child, when it is bound up, if that child declares freedom, how it is possible? Similarly, by the laws of Mother Nature we are bound up. How you can declare freedom? Every part of our body is being controlled by some controller
- So before my body was created, the world was there, and when my body will be finished, the world will remain there. Then how can I claim that this world belongs to me? This is called illusion. This is called ignorance, mudha
- So everything requires qualification. So this Krsna consciousness movement means we are trying to make the people qualified to see Krsna. Without being qualified, how can you see? That requires qualification
- So how I can find out the real guru by whose words I'll be nicely directed and achieve? - That is not very difficult. You read Bhagavad-gita. You'll understand
- So many good boys have come to me from America. Unless your country is good, how could good boys and girls come? You are not poverty sticken. That is a great qualification. You have all good qualities. You are open-minded people
- So many philosophers trying to understand the Absolute Truth, but since they are situated in the base qualities of material nature & are addicted to so many bad habits, like drinking, meat-eating, illicit sex & gambling, how can they conceive of the SPG
- So our process is to come to the standard of Krsna consciousness. There is no denial; the demands of the body are to be supplied because without supply of the demands of the body, how can I live?
- So this Bhagavata religion is not a cheating religion. This is real religion. Don't be carried away by cheating type of religion. You do not understand what is the value of life, what is the goal of life, how we can revive our eternal life
- So we are not rejecting this body. Why? This is also Krsna's. How can I reject it? Krsna's things must be engaged in Krsna's service. This is real philosophy
- Society creates animals, then how can it expect peace and prosperity? In spite of many big universities and all educational facilities, this society is producing hippies and frustration amongst the youth because we are spirit soul and cannot become happy
- Society needs first-class sadhus in order to improve. If everyone is a sudra and debauchee, how can society be peaceful
- Soldiers killing and ordinary killing is not the same, but my point is that God gives you the law that you shall not kill. Now if you are violating that law, then how you can become religious? That is my question
- Some people argue that Arjuna was talking with Krsna because Krsna was present before him, whereas in my case, Krsna is not present. So how can I get directions? But that is not a fact. Krsna is present by His words - the Bhagavad-gita
- Some rascals, they say the animals have no soul. This is wrong. How you can say the animal has no soul? Everyone. Here the authoritative statement by Krsna: sarvasya
- Some way or other, we should be attached to Krsna. That is our only business, how we can be it doesn't matter, in broken language. There are many Sanskrit, I mean to say, not properly pronounced. But the Krsna name is there. Therefore it is sufficient
- Somebody challenges that "Why shall I believe in the Vedas? I must see." But everything is not possible to see. For example, the mother said to the son, "Here is your father." So you have to believe your mother; otherwise how you can see your father?
- Sometimes the atheists argue, How can a flower stem sprout from the navel of Garbhodakasayi Visnu? They consider all the statements of the sastras to be stories
- Sometimes there are inquiries as to how one can surrender unto the Supreme Lord. In the Bhagavad-gita (BG 18.66) the Lord asked Arjuna to surrender unto Him, and therefore persons unwilling to do so question where God is and to whom they should surrender
- Sometimes when we hear that great sages and devotees go to the forest and engage themselves in devotional service or meditation, we become surprised: how can one live in the forest and not be taken care of by anyone
- Sometimes you have got experience: the perspiration is water, is coming from my body. The body is active so long I am there. So how you can say the chemical is coming from matter? No. Chemical is coming from life
- Soul is so minute particle: one ten-thousandth part of the top of the hair. Now how can your material science can see it or understand it? Therefore they say - No soul
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu rejected that kind of sannyasa (that by accepting sannyasa one becomes Narayana). But the acceptance of sannyasa is one of the items of the varnasrama-dharma. How then can it be rejected
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said, "It is not proper for a sannyasi to eat such a variety of foods. If he does, how can he control his senses"
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu taught His principles through four chief followers. Among them, Ramananda Raya is exceptional, for through him the Lord taught how a devotee can completely vanquish the power of Cupid
- Sri Krsna said, "O Brahma, your father is Narayana. I am but a cowherd boy. How can you be My son?"
- Sri Visvarupa said: O demigods, although the acceptance of priesthood is decried as causing the loss of previously acquired brahminical power, how can someone like me refuse to accept your personal request?
- Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura says, somo vrksadhisthata sa eva vrksanam raja: Soma, the predominating deity of the moon, is the king of all vegetation. How can we believe that the maintainer of vegetation has no vegetation on his own planet
- Sudama thought, "How can I appreciate my obligation to Him? When I was tired, Rukminidevi, the goddess of fortune, began to fan me, holding the camara whisk in her own hand. She never considered her exalted position as the first queen of Lord Krsna"
- Suppose a man is already married and Prahlada says, "Take to Krsna consciousness." He will think, "Oh, how can I leave my wife? We talk so nicely together, sit together and enjoy. How can I leave?" Family attraction is very strong
- Suppose I am a madman. Is whatever I think all right? How could this be? "Two plus two equals four" is science
- Suppose the universal form of Krsna is there, and you have to dress Him, so the whole cloth factory will be finished. Is it not? How you can dress? You have no capacity to dress
- Suppose you are in this Krsna conscious society. Now, you cannot expect that all the members of the society will be first-class men. How can we expect? We are collecting members of the society from all classes of men
- Surrender means to accept favorable things, how I can make progress towards Krsna, and pratikulya, pratikula means rejecting unfavorable things which are not very congenial for my progress to Krsna consciousness

- Tapasya should be executed, how we can also revive our original constitutional position, sac-cid-ananda-vigraha. This is called suddhyet sattva
- That (how can the people in general recognize when a devotee is pure?) is, I have already described. He has no material desire except to serve Krsna, or God. That is devotee. That is pure devotee
- That is his pastime to show us how a little boy can become maha-bhagavata, how a little boy can be the eternal associate of Krsna, and how he can preach. That is Prahlada Maharaja
- That source is not blind. Rascals think that everything has come from nothing. But how can something come out of nothing
- The Absolute Truth is avan manasa-gocara. By logical arguments how you can reach? That is not possible

- The argument may be put forward, How can something the size of a thumb be accommodated within the heart of an ant? The answer is that this thumb measurement of the Supersoul is imagined in proportion to the body of the living entity
- The artist draws a picture of a rose very nicely with all attention and artistic sense, and yet it does not become as perfect as the real rose. If that is the real fact, how can we say that the real rose has taken its shape without intelligence?
- The Bhagavad-gita teaches Arjuna. Arjuna was overwhelmed of family affection, that "How can I fight with my members of the family? They are my brothers . . ." So this conception, bodily conception, was first of all eradicated in the Bhagavad-gita

- The business is tad viddhi pranipatena (BG 4.34): one must be prepared to surrender. So unless that character is there, surrendering, how he can become his disciple? It is not possible

- The Lord describes for Arjuna how one can achieve the highest perfectional stage simply by being engaged in his occupational duty, performing that duty for the Supreme Personality of Godhead. BG 1972 purports

- They (the people in general) regard the Krsna consciousness movement as a form of "brainwashing." How can such envious persons be happy in their godless civilization
- They (tree and beast) also have a right to live. Why should you cut the trees? Why should you send the bulls to the slaughterhouse? This is injustice. How can you gain justice by yourself doing injustice
- They are interested only with the bodily concept of life. Mandah sumanda-matayo manda-bhagya hy upadrutah. And always disturbed by so many anxieties. How he can ascend to the platform of transcendental realization? It is very difficult in this age
- They assured the crowd that they had seen how it happened with their own eyes, and they strongly asserted the point. Some were listening to the statement of the small children, but others said, "How can you believe the statements of these children?"
- They do not believe in God, and what to speak of His name, fame, His place, His activities, His form, His quality. How we can know? There is no educational system about the science of God

- Unless the propensity to steal is present in the Absolute Truth, how can it be present in us? Krsna is known as "the butter thief." But Krsna's stealing and our stealing are different
- Unless there are nice population, children, born in a systematic way, how you can expect peace in the world? That is described in the Bhagavad-gita: when there are varna-sankara the whole world becomes hell
- Unless there is rationality, how can an animal maintain its body by working so hard? That the animals are not rational is untrue; their rationality, however, is not very advanced. In any case, we cannot deny them rationality
- Unless there is some abhijna - some very clever intelligence who knows everything - how could all this have been created
- Unless you change the society, how you can make social welfare? If you keep them as it is, then where is the question of welfare?
- Unless you have perfect knowledge, how can you teach? That is our question. That is cheating; that is not teaching. That is cheating
- Unless you love me, how can I speak to you my confidential subject matter? So give and take, the English word is love. This is love, beginning

- Vaisnava, he is thinking, "Oh, so many living entities are suffering. How they can be saved?"
- Vallabha Bhatta said, "Where do all these Vaisnavas live, and how can I see them"
- Vallabha Bhattacarya said, "Since these two are constantly chanting the holy name of Krsna, how can they be untouchable? On the contrary, they are most exalted"
- Vasudeva was lamenting because he and Nanda Maharaja could not live together. Yet how could they live together? Vasudeva warns that all of us, even if intimately related, are carried away by the waves of time according to the results of past karma
- Vedanta-sutra is very clearly explained by Srimad-Bhagavatam. So this Vedic literature is giving us the help and the clue how we can get out of this miserable condition of life
- Vedic literature gives you direction how you can go to the moon planet. There is also direction in the Bhagavad-gita: yanti deva-vrata devan (BG 9.25). Devan means the planetary system occupied by the demigods

- We are always thinking how we can do something nice to please Krsna with some service or other, or we are reading literature about Krsna or speaking about Krsna. In this way we are always remembering Krsna and that is our natural conscious state
- We are chanting Hare Krsna. If Krsna were different from the chanting of Hare Krsna, then how could we be satisfied chanting the whole day and night? This is the proof - in the spiritual world, the name is the same as the thing that is named
- We are compelled to take birth. Krsna does not take birth in such condition. Atma-mayaya. Because maya is under the control of Krsna. So how maya can control Krsna? One who thinks that Krsna is also like us, controlled by maya, they are called mudhas
- We are dependent. Without light, without air, without rain or water, how we can live? So we are completely dependent, but on account of false prestige, less intelligence, we are thinking that we are free
- We are falsely claiming proprietorship; we are encroaching upon others' independence. This is our business. How there can be peace? It is not possible
- We are falsely claiming, "I am the proprietor." So how you can be in peace?
- We are here - one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. How we can merge? You just study philosophy. We are here, eight persons. How we can merge into one? Have you got any idea how we can merge?
- We are sitting on something. It is not false; it is fact. I am not sitting on the air. You are not sitting on the air. So how we can say it is false? No. Therefore our philosophy is fact. One may consider
- We are so fool that we simply believe in direct perception. No. Direct perception is never perfect, because our senses are imperfect. So how you can get perfect knowledge? At night I cannot see anything, so what is the use of my these eyes?
- We are taking so much milk from the cows, and we are killing instead of giving them protection. So in this way, we are simply committing sinful life. How you can expect to become happy? So the only means is to take to Krsna consciousness
- We are unnecessarily, illegally claiming overlordship on Krsna's property. How we can be in peace?
- We cannot actually see one another. How, then, can we hope to see God? It is stated: atah sri-krsna-namadi na bhaved grahyam indriyaih (CC Madhya 17.136). - Material senses cannot appreciate Krsna's holy name, form, qualities and pastimes
- We cannot hide anything from Him, and we receive the results of our karma because the witness is Krsna Himself within the heart. How, then, can we avoid Him? Without Krsna's permission, we cannot do anything
- We cannot see the soul, and if we cannot see the minute soul, how can we hope to see God with these blunt eyes

- We have discussed that point. Arjuna was talking with Krsna in friendly terms, just like friend. Krsna was saying something, - Oh, you cannot . . . you are a ksatriya. You are a military man. How can you give up the fighting
- We have got four defects - means we commit mistake, we become illusioned or bewildered, our senses are imperfect, and, because everything is imperfect, still we want to become teacher, that is cheating. I am imperfect. How can I teach?
- We have got information four millions of miles. And where is sun situated? We are not going by sputnik to measure it. We have got information from Vedic literature. And if you don’t agree, so how you can say it is not, because you have not measured it
- We have got many sastric evidences how one can become completely sinless simply by chanting Hare Krsna maha-mantra and observing very strictly the four prohibitive rules and regulations

- What capacity we have got to find out Krsna by research work? That's not possible. That is aksaja. Krsna is adhoksaja. Your paltry research work with limited power of sense, how you can find out Krsna? That's not possible
- What do you gain by prolonging life if you are suffering? Stop suffering. That is wanted. How you can stop suffering? Hmm? With suffering, prolonging life, what is the benefit
- What is painful for saintly persons who strictly adhere to the truth? How could there not be independence for pure devotees who know the Supreme Lord as the substance - SB 10.1.58
- What is the difficulty? You must discuss. Otherwise how it can be resolved?
- What is the nature of this illusion, and how can it be overcome? That is also explained in Bhagavad-gita: daivi hy esa guna-mayi mama maya duratyaya mam eva ye prapadyante mayam etam taranti te
- What is the use of becoming a renouncer? After all, you have got this body. How can you renounce it? Either you cover it with underwear or either you cover it with costly dress, you have to cover it. So that covering also belongs to Krsna
- What is this nonsense? If He's God, God is good, how can you blame Him? God is good; in all circumstances, He's good. That is the meaning of good. Good does not mean that one time you are good and next time you are bad

- You are a person, your father is a person, his father is also a person. Go on, even you do not know your the topmost forefather, you know that he was a person. Similarly, the supreme father, how He can be imperson? Logically you cannot conclude
- You are all student of the university, but there is no science how you can increase the duration of life or how you can stop death. That is not possible
- You are asking God's mercy, so God's mercy is also God, the Absolute. So how can you disrespect a thing which is given by God? You cannot produce rice. You cannot produce bread. It is given by God
- You are completely under the control of the laws of nature, & nature is being controlled by God. How you can say that you're independent of God? Therefore it's not very good business that people are pushing on a type of civilization, Godless civilization
- You are Krsna's servant, you have dedicated your life to serve Him, how you can offer anything which He does not like? "Anything and everything" does not mean beyond the jurisdiction of His permission
- You are not hundred years or sixty years, fifty years. You are soul. You are eternal. So what is your eternal life? How you can become eternally happy? How you can have eternal life? That is your problem
- You are searching after peace. How can there be peace? You are falsely claiming something which does not belong to you
- You ask Krsna, "Sir, my business is hari-tosanam. So how can I satisfy You?"
- You cannot speculate about the absolute knowledge because our senses are imperfect. How we can speculate or come to the right conclusion? That is not possible
- You change your cloth. The other cloth also made of cotton, and this is also made of cotton. In the same way, you can say: "The same body," cotton body or dress. But you cannot say that this cloth or this dhoti is going with you. How they can say?
- You descend to propagate the transcendental science of devotional service unto the hearts of advanced transcendentalists & mental speculators, who are purified by being able to discriminate between matter & spirit. How can we women know You perfectly?
- You have dedicated your life for Krsna and therefore you should be ideal. We are introducing KCM for the harmony and good will of humanity. But if you are suffering from the very ills we are trying to remove, how can the people be influenced favorably
- You have killed the demons and Your enemy, and why You are inducing me to kill my guru and my grandfather?" This is his argument. - They, my grandfather, my teacher, may chastise me, but how I can pierce with arrows their body?
- You have to adopt this yogic process (transfer that attachment to Krsna), meditation. Unless you have got love for somebody, attachment for somebody, how you can think of him always? That is not possible
- You have to change their doggish quality. Then there will be peace. How you can expect peaceful society amongst the dogs
- You must know, "Now, here is God. I must surrender." Eighteen chapters describe God and how to know God, and then Krsna proposes, "Surrender unto Me." Then Arjuna does it: "Yes." So without knowing God, how can you surrender to Him? It is not possible
- You're so much anxious. Everyone says, "Can you show me God?" What you can see? What is the power of your eyes? You cannot see your eyelid. The eyelid is attached to the eye. Can you see? So how you can see God? You're so imperfect

- Yudhisthira Maharaja inquired from Krsna, - We are completely dependent on You, but still we are suffering materially so much. Our kingdom has been taken away, our wife has been insulted, & our enemies attempted to burn us in our house. How can this be so
