- BG should be taken up in a spirit of devotion. One should not think that he is equal to Krsna, nor should he think that Krsna is an ordinary personality or even a very great personality. Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. BG 1972 Introduction
- Bhagavad-gita confirms this; a man gets his next life's birth according to what he thinks of at the time of death
- Bhagavad-gita says that - You may think of yourself as very happy within this material condition. That is called maya. Actually, it is not happiness
- Bharata Maharaja would think: Alas, the deer is now helpless. I am now very unfortunate, and my mind is like a cunning hunter, for it is always filled with cheating propensities and cruelty
- Bhismadeva supported Krsna, that - He is greater brahmacari than me. I think I could not save myself, keeping myself amongst the young girls. But Krsna can do so. He is real brahmacari. Therefore His another name is Acyuta, he never falls down
- Birth can be stopped? They cannot think of. They're trying in a different way - contraceptive method or killing the child. That is not the way of stoppage. No. Nature's law is so strong that if you kill the child in the womb then you'll be also killed
- Brahma is also named Aja, "he who is unborn." Whenever we think of someone's birth, there must be a material father and mother, for thus one is born
- Brahma prayed that he might not forget his eternal relationship with the Lord during the course of his material activities. In answer to that prayer, the Lord said that he should not think of existing without a relationship with His omnipotency
- Brahma satyam jagan mithya: The Mayavadis think that the world is false, but the Vaisnava sannyasis do not think like this. Vaisnavas say - Why should the world be false? It is reality, & it is meant for the service of the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- Buddhi means intelligence. Avisuddha means unclean, contaminated. They think that they have become liberated, but sastra says no, it is not yet liberated. Avisuddha-buddhaya. Still there is contamination
- But now how wonderful it is that this same man is chanting the names of Krsna with tears in his eyes, and as soon as he sees the face of a woman, he immediately becomes disgusted. From the indication of his face, I would think that now he hates sex life
- By force I cannot say that "You think of this thing or this man." That is not possible. If I have got attachment for a certain thing or a certain person, then we can think of that person or that thing. That is called yoga, connecting always
- By His words He declares, "I am a servant of Lord Caitanya." Thus with His mind He always thinks, "I am His devotee"
- By ignorance we take this spot life as permanent settlement, & we think "We shall live here permanently & make arrangement to live here permanently, % make assets for my children, for my nation." But we do not know cycle of transmigration is not fixed up
- By meditation the impersonalist philosophers try to become dead stones: "Let me think of something void or impersonal." But how can one artificially make oneself void
- By nagna-matrka logic one would think that because his mother in her childhood was naked, she should remain naked even when she is grown up
- By nagna-matrka logic one would think that because his mother in her childhood was naked, she should remain naked even when she is grown up. The stepmother of Dhruva Maharaja might have been thinking in a similar way
- By the ascending process one is elevated by knowledge acquired by himself. In this way one thinks - I don't care for any authorities or books. I will attain knowledge myself by meditation, philosophy, etc. In this way I will understand God
- By the ascending process, if anyone makes progress with the speed of mind and speed of air . . . you, you know the speed of mind, how it is powerful. You are sitting here, and you can think of thousands and thousands of miles away immediately
- By the false ego one thinks oneself the body and thinks in terms of "my body, my house, my family, my society, my nation" and so on
- By the spell of this illusory energy, we consider ourselves in the light of this bodily conception of life, and we thus think that we are American, Indian, Russian or brahmana, Hindu, Muslim, etc. BG 1972 purports
- By writing about the pastimes of the Lord, one associates with the Lord directly. One should not ambitiously think, "I shall become a great author. I shall be celebrated as a writer." These are material desires
C
- Caitanya Mahaprabhu accepted the renounced order from a sannyasi of the Mayavada school. Present-day Vaisnava sannyasis, however, never think that by accepting the dress of the sannyasa order they have become equal to Caitanya Mahaprabhu
- Caitanya Mahaprabhu replied, - Vasudeva, do you think that if I take away all the conditioned souls of the universe, the whole universe if I take, do you think that it is finished, the business is finished?
- Caitanya Mahaprabhu says, there are many thousands of names of God. Although we say the only perfect name is "Krsna," but if you think, "No, we have got another name," that's all right. But it must be name of God, full with the conception of God
- Caitanya Mahaprabhu used to give to His mother some gold when there was need of money. "Mother, I got this gold. So you can utilize it." The mother would think that "We are poor men. We have no gold. Wherefrom this boy brings gold?"
- Caitanya said that one should be in a humble state of mind, should think himself lower than the grass on the street, should be more tolerant than a tree, and should be devoid of all sense of prestige and ready to offer all kinds of respects to others
- Capitalists, they have drawn all the innocent people from the village, and they, they think that, "We are getting fat salary." But what is the use of fat salary
- Chanting must be pure. Your guru is writing books. If you think, "There is no necessity of reading books," that is guror avajna
- Chanting of the holy name of Narayana and chanting of other names are never equal, despite what Mayavadis think
- Child will think the motorcar is running automatically. But a sane man will understand that there is a driver. So persons who deny the existence of God are like that
- Children are fond of playing. They do not want to go to school to receive an education, and they think that to play all day and night and enjoy with their friends is the aim of life
- Cintam aparimeyam ca. Your cinta will not act. You may think for the safety or satisfaction, but that does not mean we should neglect our duty. But as far as possible we should be detached
- Communists think in terms of their own nations, but the spiritual communism instructed here (in SB 8.1.10) is not only nationwide but universal. Nothing belongs to any nation or individual person; everything belongs to the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- Conceited persons who think they can obtain liberation without the Lord's mercy, simply by performing strict penances and austerities, are totally mistaken; they fail
- Conditional existence is described here (in SB 3.27.4) as dhyayato visayan asya. Visaya means "an object of enjoyment." As long as one continues to think that he can enjoy material advantages, he is in conditioned life
- Confirmed in Bhagavad-gita (BG 3.27): "The bewildered spirit soul, under the influence of the three modes of material nature, thinks himself the doer of activities, which are in actuality carried out by nature"
- Controlling speech, however, does not mean self-imposed silence (the external process of mauna), as Mayavadi philosophers think
- Criminals may think that the police department is an inferior governmental department, but the law-abiding citizens do not think that this is so. It simply functions in a particular way
- Croaking toads who think they are making a big conference, and then one day the snake of death comes and swallows them up
D
- Dasa. Not that name, but the name's servant. Dasa. When one is named Krsna, Krsna dasa, he is servant of Krsna. Not that Krsna. If he thinks, "I have become Krsna," that is Mayavada. Krsna dasa
- Designation means falsely identifying that I am this body. Now the soul is in this body. Next time the soul is in another body. So according to the body we are having designations. As soon as we get American body, I think myself American
- Despite the Supreme Lord's uncommon activities, these speculators, due to contamination in the material energy, still think that the impersonal Brahman is the Supreme. BG 1972 purports
- Devotees are the most exalted personalities as the servants of Krsna, still they think themselves lower than everyone, and that humble attitude is their credit
- Devotees are very much attached to glorifying the activities of the Lord, whereas the Mayavadis cannot even think of these activities. According to them the Absolute Truth is impersonal
- Devotees engaged in devotional service are not very much attached to their bodies, unlike the yogis, who are too attached to the body and who think that by performing bodily gymnastic exercises they will advance in spiritual consciousness
- Devotees in a transcendental parental relationship with the Lord think of Him as their dependent child. They forget His exalted position and think that unless they properly feed Him He will fall victim to undernourishment and His health will deteriorate
- Dhruva was very much ashamed to think that although he had gone to Madhuvana, giving up the kingdom of his father (Uttanapada), and he had gotten a spiritual master like Narada Muni, he was still thinking of revenge against his stepmother
- Do not again misappropriate the revenue of the government. In case you think your salary insufficient, henceforward it will be doubled

- Do you think simply by bringing a nice physician and nice medicine you can save your son? Then where is your responsibility
- Do you think that because you are very strong and stout, a big wrestler with muscles, you'll live? No. For Yamaraja there is no consideration that "Here is a weak person, lean and thin, and here is a very strong person"
- Do you think that I have to accept the astronomers blindly? If there are innumerable suns, why they are not present at night? Why you are suffering from want of one sun?
- Do you think that if you make zero, zero, zero, zero, million times, has it any value? How do they conclude from zero such a management, cosmic manifestation has come
- Do you think that in a dead society or a mad society there can be any peace? No. If the society is full of madmen, then where is the question of peace
- Do you think that you do not love anyone and you become peaceful? No. How it is possible? Therefore, if you love God, then you can love everyone. And if you don't love God, then you cannot love anyone. Because He's the center
- Do you think this nice flower has come out without any brain, this nonsense philosophy? The so-called scientist will put some bombastic word, "this, that. . ." What is that explanation? Nobody can understand
- Do you think you have attained peace? Can anyone of you say, "Yes, I am completely in peace." Then why the youngsters are so much frustrated and confused?
- Does he think that by his dying of starvation this cow-killing will be stopped?
- Don't beget children if you have no responsibility. But they think that "We'll have sex life, but we shall avoid this responsibility. So then let us use contraceptive."
- Dry speculators, having been repulsed by the material phenomena in their search for knowledge of the Absolute, think that the transcendental form of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is also repulsive
- Due to a poor fund of knowledge, human beings sometimes think the Lord's activities contradictory
- Due to absorption of one's identity in his money, when the money is lost he thinks that he is also lost. But actually he is not identical with the money, nor does the money belong to him
- Due to forgetting the lotus feet of Lord Nityananda and being puffed up by material possessions, wealth and opulence, one thinks the false, temporary material world to be an actual fact. This is the material disease
- Due to his absorption in the money or identification with the money, he (a person who has lost money) thinks that he is lost. When we falsely identify with matter as our field of activities, we think that we are lost, although actually we are not
- Due to the entangling relationship between man and woman, there is a sense of illusion whereby one thinks, "This man is my husband," or "This woman is my wife." This is called hrdaya-granthi, the hard knot in the heart
- Due to unclean intelligence or a poor fund of knowledge, the Mayavadi philosophers cannot understand the distinction between material and spiritual varieties; therefore they cannot even think of spiritual varieties
- During the daytime the dogs and asses think, - We are working, but these spiritualists, they are not working
E
- Elephant is taking hundred pounds daily, twice. Once at a time he takes hundred pounds or more than that. And the ant takes only one grain. Now if the ant thinks that "I shall also take hundred pounds," oh, it is impossible for him. It is impossible
- Energies are always controlled by the energetic, and therefore living entities are always controlled by the Lord - they have no independant existence. They are never equally powerful, as unintelligent men think. BG 1972 purports
- Engaged in devotional service in Krsna consciousness, one has no proprietorship claim, nor is one situated in the false egoism of thinking that he is God or the master. He always thinks himself the servant. That is the process of purifying consciousness
- Especially in this age, human society is covered by the mode of ignorance, and therefore everyone thinks his present body to be everything, without consideration of the past or future
- Established thus, one never departs from the truth, and upon gaining this he thinks there is no greater gain. Being situated in such a position, one is never shaken, even in the midst of greatest difficulty. BG 6.20-23 - 1972
- Even a grhastha has to give up so many bad habits that his parents think his life has been practically destroyed
- Even a plant you cannot kill, what to speak of bigger animals. If one thinks that "I am killing only plants; therefore I am very pious, vegetarian," no. There is no question of vegetarian, nonvegetarian. They are equally sinful
- Even after much meditation and speculation, if one continues to think himself one with the Supreme Lord, it is to be understood that he is still in the last snares of the spell of maya
- Even at the point of death, he (living entities) thinks of his present body and the relatives connected to it. Thus he remains fully absorbed in the bodily conception of life, so much so that even at the point of death he abhors leaving his present body
- Even big scholars who are nondevotees think that Krsna is fictitious
- Even if we think that the Deity is a stone, or a piece of metal or some wood, He is still Krsna. The understanding of this requires bhakti on our part
- Even if you drink a glass of water without knowing to whom it belongs, you are a thief. So you may think, "I am honest," but actually you are a thief. You must remember Krsna. "Oh, Krsna, it is Your creation, so kindly allow me to drink." This is honesty
- Even if you think that "If I take to Krsna consciousness, join this international movement, I will be deviating from my real duty." So that also you can do
- Even in ordinary dealings, one cannot think the material cosmic manifestation to be false
- Even in the material world, the father of many sons discloses the secret of his position to the pet sons. The father discloses the confidence unto the son whom he thinks worthy
- Even one thinks that he knows everything, still, he, before the spiritual master, he should be blank slate that, "I do not know anything." That is the qualification of the disciple
- Even though he (Bharata) was engaged in worshiping the Deity, his mind was restless due to his inordinate affection. While trying to meditate, he would simply think of the deer, wondering where it had gone
- Even though he has a human body, a person in the mode of ignorance and interested only in his present body is like an animal, for an animal, being covered by ignorance, thinks that the ultimate goal of life and happiness is to eat as much as possible
- Even though you think that chemical combination brings the living force, but the chemical is coming from life. Just like citric acid. The citric acid we see practically. There is a tree, lemon tree. This is life
- Every living being, whether a man or an animal or a bird, thinks that he is free by himself, but actually no one is free from the severe laws of the Lord. The laws of the Lord are severe because they cannot be disobeyed in any circumstance
- Every moment we see that someone is going to the court of Yamaraja - that means death. That is our experience, everything. Who is not yet dead, still alive, he thinks, I will never die. This is the most wonderful thing
- Every spirit soul is son of God, but materially we think somebody as father. But real father is God. That is stated in the Bhagavad-gita - BG 14.4
- Everyone has to die because everyone is fully under the control of material nature, yet everyone thinks that he is independent, that whatever he likes he can do, that he will never meet death but live forever, and so on
- Everyone in the material world is a servant; no one is master. One may think that he is the master, but he is actually a servant
- Everyone in this material world, they are suffering. Just like in the prison house there are different grades of prisoner: first class, second class, third class. But if the first-class prisoner thinks they are enjoying life, that is ignorance
- Everyone is actually dependent on the reactions of material laws, but still one thinks himself independent and thinks that he has conquered all directions
- Everyone is at liberty to desire as he likes, but the desire is fulfilled by the Supreme Lord. Everyone is independent to think or desire but the fulfillment of one's desire depends on the supreme will. This law is expressed as "Man proposes God disposes
- Everyone is bad man. Here there is no good man. Do you think in the prison house any good men go there? All criminals. So anyone who has come in this material world, he is a criminal. Therefore he is punished by this material body, simply suffering
- Everyone is related to the Supreme Lord, but one should not mistakenly think that because one is related to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, he has become the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Narayana
- Everyone is trying to be more intelligent than others, but without the favor of Krsna this is not possible. Therefore whenever we encounter someone with extraordinary intelligence we should think - That intelligence is Krsna
- Everyone is trying to think, "I am not this body." They have experience that they are suffering so much on account of bodily identification, and so, - If only I could forget my bodily identification
- Everyone is under the influence of maya, bahu-rupaya. So long he is under the influence of maya, he must think in terms of his own form, "I am this," "I am that," "I am . . ." So it is a very important verse: Bahu-rupa ivabhati (SB 2.9.2)
- Everyone knows it, but nonetheless one plans to hear or think something very pleasing. Unfortunately, all of one's plans are annihilated in due course of time
- Everyone of you should think that every moment, whatever asset you have got, the most valuable asset is the life, duration of life. That is being taken away. That is the law of nature. And the last taking away is death
- Everyone thinks in his own way. That is not philosophy. That is not law: "I think..." "We think..." No. You cannot think. What is your value? You are imperfect. Your senses are imperfect. How you can think perfect things?
- Everyone thinks in terms, "I am this body," that's all. He is not human being, but every so-called civilized man is thinking like that. So where is the civilization of human being? All go-kharahs, animals

- Everyone, especially the karmis, they think that they will live forever. This is the most wonderful thing
- Everything is functioning in order, but people foolishly think that they are produced by chance in this material world and that after death they will become zero. They think that this beautiful place of habitation will automatically remain
- Everything is Krsna's forms. Your form is also Krsna's form; my form is also Krsna's form. Therefore foolish rascals, they think, "Now I have become God." He has got the affinity that he is also God expansion; therefore sometimes he thinks that - I am God
- Everything necessary as we have prescribed. If you think that it is not necessary, unnecessary, then you under the maya. Why do you take that, "Is it necessary?" That means you are not strong enough. You cannot follow
- Exalted, self-satisfied persons who preach to the entire world think of your lotus feet constantly within their hearts
F

- False devotees, lacking the conclusion of transcendental knowledge, think that artificially shedding tears will deliver them
- False ego, which is under the influence of the material modes of nature and which induces one to think, "I am this body, and everything connected with this body is mine," should be merged, along with material activities, in Rudra

- Foolish persons who do not have sufficient knowledge think that nature is moving without a plan and all manifestations are but accidental formations. BG 1972 purports
