- A conditioned soul falsely thinks himself happy in the material world, but if he is favored by the instructions of an unalloyed devotee, he gives up his desire for material enjoyment and becomes enlightened in Krsna consciousness

- Always spreading miseries and controlled by acts of sense gratification, he (the attached householder) acts just to counteract the reactions of all his miseries, and if he can successfully counteract such miseries, he thinks that he is happy
- Anna means "food." After this one lives in the consciousness of being alive. If one can continue his life without being attacked or destroyed, one thinks himself happy
