- Everyone knows well that when we eat something, or in other words, when we put foodstuffs in the stomach, the energy created by such action is immediately distributed throughout the whole body

- From the behavior of great personalities like Prahlada Maharaja and Bali Maharaja we understand that surrendering to the Lord is the right action for an intelligent person
- Fully engage himself (one thoughtful person must) in devotional service, hearing, chanting, etc., of the holy name and pastimes of the Lord, which are all hari-kathamrta. This action is especially recommended when one is preparing for death

- One may foolishly decry the existence of God by various means ("There is no God," or "I am God"), but ultimately one is responsible for all his actions, both good and bad

- One must first please the spiritual master, and if he is pleased, then we should understand that the Supreme Personality of Godhead is also pleased. But if the spiritual master is displeased by our actions, they are not spiritual

- One of the Lord's names is Urukrama, or one whose actions are very wonderful and are beyond the imagination of the living being, so the actions of His devotees sometimes appear very wonderful due to the direction of the Lord

- One should discharge one's duty on Lord Krsna's behalf, and all one's actions will be saturated with Krsna thought, the highest pattern of trance in spiritual realization
- One should not blaspheme Lord Visnu through one's mind, words or actions, for a blasphemer will go to hellish life along with his forefathers
- One should not think that he is freed from reaction because he has forgotten the actions of his past life

- One who has the shape of a human being but whose actions are nothing but those of an animal is called nara-pasu or dvipada-pasu, a two-legged animal
- One who hears blasphemy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead or His devotees should immediately take action or should leave. Otherwise he will be put into hellish life perpetually
- One who is attached to the result of his work is also the cause of the action. Thus he is the enjoyer or sufferer of the result of such actions. BG 1972 purports
- One who is both devoted and highly advanced in intelligence does not take action against the soul or the body. If there is any discrepancy, he forgives. It is said that forgiveness is a quality of those who are advancing in spiritual knowledge
- One who is completely freed from all the resultant actions of sinful activities and who is absorbed only in pious activities can engage in devotional service

- Only Brahma could understand the message transmitted by Lord Visnu, and he broadcast it to the demigods for their immediate action
- Our actions are judged by the higher authorities, the agents of the Lord, and thus we are awarded bodies according to our activities
- Our five senses of action, namely (1) hands, (2) legs, (3) speech, (4) evacuation organs and (5) reproductive organs are supplied to us by various arrangements of gross or subtle forms of natural energy
- Our line of action is not difficult - chanting sixteen rounds regularly, following the four restrictive principles, take prasadam, read books - we have got so many books - speak, discuss about the subject matter amongst yourself, and this is the process
- Our line of action is simultaneous service to the Spiritual Master and Krishna. Without being favoured by Krishna, nobody can have the association of a bonafide Spiritual Master
- Our line of action is very simple, and if you stick to the principles, then success is sure
- Our sense of proprietorship over action is also due to the activity of the air. If the air circulation is stifled, we cannot approach a place after hearing
- Our senses of perception and of action, that is to say, our five perceptive senses of (1) hearing, (2) touch, (3) sight, (4) taste and (5) smell, as well as our five senses of action

- Sinful means, generally, what is against the law of God. That is sinful. Just like what is criminal? Any action which is against the law of the state, that is criminal. Similarly, sinful means what is against the law of God

- The next day, in the morning, Samba delivered a large lump of iron, which was entrusted to Ugrasena for necessary action. Actually later on there was the foretold fratricidal war, and Samba died in that war
- The part of the princely order of the Yadu dynasty who went to Prabhasa performed all duties to be done in a place of pilgrimage and offered their pious actions to their forefathers and others
- The parts and parcels are meant to serve the whole, and when they misuse their independence they are subject to the miseries of the laws of matter, just as criminals are subject to police action
- The Personality of Godhead is always with pure devotees because of their unalloyed service, which is without any tinge of fruitive action or utopian speculation. They are in the actual service of the Lord specifically by the process of hearing & chanting
- The place of action (the body), the performer, the various senses, the many different kinds of endeavor, and ultimately the Supersoul, these are the five factors of action
- The present Krsna consciousness movement is nondifferent from the pastimes performed by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu when He was personally present, for the same principles are being followed and the same actions performed without fail
- The Queen (Arci) was completely aware that her husband (King Prthu) was not dead, although the symptoms of life - action, intelligence and sense perception - had ceased
- The real and transcendental happiness is attained only after liberation from the bondage of material existence. Any action which does not aim at such transcendental happiness is always temporary and baffling
- The real perfection of life is whether, by your action, Krsna is satisfied. That is perfection. You don't consider of your personal victory, defeat, loss or gain, or distress or happiness
- The real purpose of marriage is to get children. So if the husband and wife simply love within the mind and there is no action, there is no prayojana-siddhi. We should be practical, not simply theoretical
- The result of pious action is pure and is said to be in the mode of goodness. But action done in the mode of passion results in misery, and action performed in the mode of ignorance results in foolishness
- The sages said, "Although You (Krsna) create varieties of manifestations through Your energy, You are unaffected by all those actions"
- The sages said, "We (the sages) awarded Romaharsana Suta an undisturbed duration of life. Under the circumstances, since Your Lordship (Balarama) has killed him without knowing all these facts, we think that Your action is equal to killing a brahmana"
- The sages said, "We (the sages) do not, however, suggest what kind of act You (Balarama) should perform to atone for killing him; we simply suggest that You adopt some method of atonement so that others may follow Your action"
- The self-realization part of one's activities is executed in one's occupation as a devotee of the Lord, and one performs actions in that connection also
- The senses and the action of the senses are to be considered impure or materialistic as long as they are employed only in sense gratification. The purified senses are engaged not in sense gratification but in the service of the Lord in toto
- The senses for acquiring knowledge and the organs for action number ten
- The senses for acquiring knowledge and the organs for action number ten, namely the auditory sense, the sense of taste, the tactile sense, the sense of sight, the sense of smell
- The senses for acquiring knowledge and the organs for action number ten, the active organ for speaking, the active organs for working, and those for traveling, generating and evacuating
- The senses must have engagement. And how? That is in the service of the Lord. That is real activity. So bhakti is not that it is simply negation. There must be positive action. That is bhakti
- The so-called appearance and disappearance of the Lord are not actions of material nature, but are demonstrations of the internal potency of the Lord. They are described by the great sages for the purpose of self-realization
- The spirit soul has nothing to do with the material world; his actions must be in some relation with the Supreme. When he acts in Krsna consciousness, he is actually in his constitutional position. BG 1972 purports
- The spiritual master's action is that he is to deliver his disciple from the blazing fire of this material existence. Samsara-davanala
- The spiritual master, saintly persons and scriptures direct in the same way. There is no contradiction in these three sources. All actions done under such direction are free from the reactions of pious or impious activities. BG 1972 purports
- The Superself and the individual self cannot be on an equal level because the Superself gives direction or supplies intelligence and the individual self follows the direction, and thus actions are performed properly
- The Supreme Lord said, The indestructible, transcendental living entity is called Brahman, and his eternal nature is called the self. Action pertaining to the development of these material bodies is called karma, or fruitive activities. BG 8.3 - 1972
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead creates this material world, maintains it, and annihilates it in due course of time, but because He is transcendental to such activities, He is never affected by ego in such action or by the modes of material nature
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead, the Supersoul within the core of everyone's heart, gives inspirations for action according to one's mentality. All of these mentalities are merely facilities given by Krsna to the person acting
- The svabhavika, or one's natural tendency, is the most important factor in action
- The unadulterated action of the hladini-sakti is displayed in the dealings of the damsels of Vraja and Srimati Radharani, who is the topmost participant in that transcendental group
- The various demigods are all acting under the protection of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and according to their various actions the demigods are differently named
- The Visnudutas were also surprised that the Yamadutas, although claiming to be servants of Yamaraja, the supreme judge of religious principles, were unaware of the principles of religious action
- The whole idea is that action, either in ignorance or passion or goodness - we have discussed that point - that doesn't matter. That action should be done from the spiritual consciousness platform. That's all. Then you transcend the reaction
- The whole process is that all living entities, being constitutionally parts and parcels of the supreme living being, the Absolute Personality of Godhead, have proportionately minute independence of action also
- The whole process of offering sacrifice is under the category of fruitive action, and such activities are extremely scientific. They mainly depend on the process of vibrating sounds with a particular accent
- The whole thing is that life should be molded, molded in such a way that in every step or action, we shall feel the presence of the Lord. That is spiritual life. That is spiritual life. You need not change your present occupation
- The word karma-dosaih means "by faulty actions." This refers to any activity, good or bad, performed in this material world - they are all contaminated, faulty actions because of material association
- The word nirantarau is significant because although the breasts (of attachment and envy) are situated in different locations, the action is the same. We should not make any distinction between attachment and envy
- The word samvit is variously used to mean "in fighting," "in promising," "for satisfying," "in addressing," "by practical action," "indication," and "knowledge"
- The yoga system instructed in this chapter is called sanatana-yoga, or eternal activities performed by the living entity. This yoga has two divisions of action, called sacrifices
- Theoretical knowledge is no perfect. When you bring it in practical action, then it is science
- There are 8,400,000 different species of life, with different wishes and different actions
- There are four orders of the social system: brahmacarya, grhastha, vanaprastha and sannyasa. For the grhasthas, or householders, performance of sacrifices, distribution of charity, and action according to prescribed duties are especially recommended
- There are many descriptions of sacrifices and special functions of the pumundi or special work in which the result of one's previous action may be applied. Thus one may gradually become elevated to the state of knowledge. BG 1972 purports
- There are many so-called sannyasis whose actions are below those of ordinary men but who pass themselves off as being in the renounced order of life. Caitanya did not accept such hypocrisy
- There are six symptoms of surrender: (1) One should perform only those actions favorable for devotional service to Krsna. (2) One should give up everything unfavorable for discharging devotional service
- There are three considerations here (in BG 2.47): prescribed duties, capricious work, and inaction. Capricious work means actions without the sanction of authority, and inaction means not performing one's prescribed duties. BG 1972 purports
- There is a difference between karma and karma-yoga. Karma is regulated action for the enjoyment of the fruit by the performer, but karma-yoga is action performed by the devotee for the satisfaction of the Lord
- There is a time for the annihilation of the body of the human being, and there is a time for the annihilation of the universal body. Also, growth, development and resultant actions all depend on the time factor
- There is always a reaction to every kind of action, but if actions are performed for Yajna, there is no reaction. Thus if one acts for Yajna, or the Supreme Personality of Godhead, one is not entangled in the material condition
- There is an English proverb that says, "The face is the index of the mind." If one is angry, his anger is immediately expressed in his face. Similarly, other mental states are reflected by the actions of the gross body
- There is no room for personal whims; we must always be guided by the pleasure of the Lord. Such action is called yogah karmasu kausalam (BG 2.50), or actions performed which are linked with the Supreme Lord. That is the art of doing a thing perfectly
- Thereafter the materialistic ego of the gigantic form separately manifested itself, and into it entered Rudra, the controller of false ego, with his own partial activities, by which the living entity transacts his objective actions
- These (adhibhuta, adhyatma and adhidaiva actions) are the material manifestations of cause and effect and the sense of responsibility of the conditioned actors
- These actions (so-called society, friendship and love) are, I mean to say, performed even by so-called learned man. Actually, one who is not spiritually learned, one who is not spiritually conversant, he is not a learned man
- These are our inquiries. The ordinary conditioned soul is subject to the material laws, and he thus receives the fruits of his actions. Do You, like an ordinary human being, exist within this material world in a body produced by the material modes?
- These changes of resultant actions are especially rendered by the Lord when a pure devotee is involved
- These different offenses are progressively greater in degree. An offense committed within the mind is a positive offense, the same offense committed verbally is comparatively more grave & when committed by bodily action it is superlative in offensiveness
- These principles of vaidhi-bhakti are also described in the Srimad-Bhagavatam, Second Canto, 1st Chapter, verse 35, where Sukadeva Gosvami instructs the dying Maharaj Pariksit as to his course of action
- These rascals, they have no knowledge how to train as brahmin, how to train as ksatriya, how to train as vaisya. Just like, of course, in other field of action, in the sudras and vaisyas, there is nice training in your country
- They (adhibhuta, adhyatma and adhidaiva actions) are, after all, manifestations of the conditioned state, and the human being's freedom from such a conditioned state is the highest perfectional attainment
- They (atheists) have no idea how the subtle body carries the results of the present body's actions down to the next gross body
- They (Gopis) could not tolerate a moment's blinking of the eyes, for it kept them from seeing their beloved Lord Krsna. So what to speak of others, who are naturally very critical of every action of a responsible man
- They (materialists) would declare that they are themselves God, although in every step and in every action they are dependent on the mercy of the Lord. Therefore a pure devotee may not associate with such gangs of atheists
- They (philosophers like Jaimini and his followers) say that action is not independent because action is performed by some performer; therefore, the performer himself is the cause of his own happiness or distress
- They (pure devotees) became so powerful because they sincerely followed the Bhagavatam principles by regular hearing & worshiping. By such actions the accumulated material lusts, etc., become cleansed by the personal endeavor of the Lord within the heart
- They (the foolish mundaners) may bewilder themselves by the conception of lordship over their various actions, they are always being driven under the direction of the modes of nature - that is the considered verdict of Krsna, the PG, in the Bhagavad-gita
- They (the gopis) then began to consider, “Despite our parents and guardians, we shall personally stop Krsna from going to Mathura. We have no alternative but to take this direct action. Everyone has gone against us to take away Krsna from our sight
- They all declared that the Vedic conclusion that one can conquer the heavenly planets by the action of a son, was fulfilled, for the most sinful Vena, who had been killed by the curse of the brahmanas
- They humbly (the sages present) submitted, "Our dear Lord, we think that Your action is not in line with the religious principles"
- Thinking his material position insignificant, Sanatana was prepared to become a mendicant. Appreciating the activities of Sanatana Gosvami, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu praised his action and thanked Krsna for His mercy upon him
- This (sanatana) yoga has two divisions of sacrificial actions: one is called sacrifice of one's material possessions, and the other is called knowledge of self, which is pure spiritual activity. BG 1972 purports
- This action (sending Apsaras to break the severe austerity of a saintly person called Acyuta Rsi) was typical of Indra, the King of heaven. Whenever Indra discovered someone undergoing severe austerities, he would begin to fear for his post
- This entering of a chaste lady into the fire of her dead husband is called the sati rite, and the action is considered to be most perfect for a woman
- This gross material body made of five elements is already under the control of eternal time (kala), action (karma) and the modes of material nature (guna). How, then, can it, being already in the jaws of the serpent, protect others?
- This incident (Jayadratha forced Draupadi to sit on his chariot) was seen by Dhaumya Muni, and he strongly protested the action of Jayadratha. He also followed the chariot and through Dhātreyikā the matter was brought to the notice of Yudhisthira
- This is also confirmed in Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.30): Even if one commits the most abominable actions, if he is engaged in devotional service he is to be considered saintly because he is properly situated
- This is called the struggle for existence. One kind of fruitive activity causes the living being to take one form of body, and because of actions performed in that body, another body is created
- This kind of action is not buddhi-yoga, however, because such philanthropic works can at best replace one set of people's mundane desires with a new set, but they can never completely root out these unwanted desires from within the heart
- This kind of action may also be accepted as isa-vidhvam-sitasisam, whereby the Lord destroys one's material opulences but enriches one in spiritual understanding
- This kind of dissatisfaction is another feature of the illusory energy; every living entity is controlled by his previous actions, and therefore there are different varieties of life for enjoying or suffering
- This material world is also a gross dreaming. Gross dreaming. That is subtle dreaming. And this is gross dreaming. That is the action of the mind, body, intelligence, dreaming. And here, the action of five material elements
- This most sacred narrative confers extraordinary merit, wealth, fame, longevity, and all the objects of one's desire. On the field of battle it promotes the strength of one's vital organs and organs of action
- This obstinacy is due to the action of yogamaya, a personal energy of the Lord that acts like an aide-de-camp by covering the vision of the obstinate impersonalist
- This phenomenal world is impersonally the representation of Vasudeva because the ingredients of its creation, their interaction and the enjoyer of the resultant action, the living being are all produced by the external and internal energies of Lord Krsna
- This process (of Krsna consciousness movement) is the perfect method of atonement for actions performed in rajah and tamah - passion and ignorance
- This real and transcendental happiness is attained only after liberation from the bondage of material existence. Any action which does not aim at such transcendental happiness is always temporary and baffling
- Those in complete Krsna consciousness are not ultimately responsible for their actions. Everything is dependant on the supreme will, the Supersoul, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. BG 1972 purports
- Those in the three higher social orders - namely, the brahmanas (the instructive order), the ksatriyas (the administrative order), & the vaisyas - all used to lead the life of Vaisnavism, or centering every action upon the Supreme Deity, Visnu
- Those who are advanced in spiritual life do not put faith in the mind. Indeed, they always remain vigilant and watch the mind's action
- Those who are powerful, isvara, godly, you cannot imitate their actions. They are apparently doing something wrong; still, they are pure
- Three paths are enunciated in the Bhagavad-gita: karma-yoga, jnana-yoga and bhakti-yoga. Those who are too much addicted to fruitive activities are advised to perform actions which will bring them to bhakti
- Three principal items, namely the living being, the phenomenal world and the controller, are all in continuous action - past, present and future
- Through the actions of these two bhagavatas the Lord instills the mellows of transcendental loving service into the heart of a living being, and thus the Lord, in the heart of His devotee, comes under the control of the devotee's love
- Thus the King, Maharaja Pariksit, sat to fast until death. All the demigods of the higher planets praised the King's actions and in pleasure continually scattered flowers over the earth and beat celestial drums
- To attain liberation, one must be completely purified of perverted forms of desire. A living being cannot snuff out desires, and to practice artificially erasing the actions of desire is more dangerous than the active desires themselves
- To be a good man or a nonviolent man is a personal attachment, but to act on behalf of the Supreme is to act without attachment for the result. That is perfect action of the highest degree, recommended by the SP of Godhead, Sri Krsna . BG 1972 purports
- To become angry in such a grave situation was not unnatural for the King (Maharaja Pariksit), but because the King himself was not less than a great saint, his becoming angry and taking action were astonishing
- To understand Krsna consciousness and action according to its modes, one has to learn one's relationship with the Supreme; i.e., one who has learned perfectly knows that every living entity is an eternal servitor of the Lord. BG 1972 purports
- To waste time is not at all good. Na sadhu manye. Why it is not good? Because we have got this miserable condition of life, this body . . . this is due to our past action
- Today they have no knowledge of how to train a brahmana, or how to train a ksatriya. In the other fields of action, in the work of sudras and vaisyas there is nice training
- Train the senses for controlled action
- Tribulations offered by the Lord (Krsna) to His devotee are different from the tribulations resulting from vicious action
U
- Under the instruction of Lord Caitanya, Sacidevi took advantage of this situation (of Advaita Acarya's falling down on the ground in ecstasy) to touch Advaita Acarya’s lotus feet. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was very much pleased by His mother’s action
- Unfortunately, men manufacture their own ways of acting, without reference to the Vedas. Therefore all of them commit sinful actions and are punishable
- Unless he (Living being) atones for his actions before his death, such a sinful man remains in the hellish lake of Krmibhojana for as many years as there are yojanas in the width of the lake
- Unless one is freed from the mode of ignorance, trying to counteract one action through another is useless because this will not uproot one's desires. Thus even though one may superficially seem pious, he will undoubtedly be prone to act impiously
- Upon seeing the action of Virabhadra, the party of Lord Siva was pleased and cried out joyfully, and all the bhutas, ghosts and demons that had come made a tumultuous sound
- Usa exhibited some bodily symptoms by which it could be understood that she was having intercourse with a male friend. The symptoms were so prominent that her actions could no longer be concealed from anyone
- Usually, we do not see any difference between the body of a child and the body of a boy or young man because we know that these changes are due to the action of the time factor. There is cause for fear for a person who does not know how time acts
V
- Vaisnavas should not try to kill by any action of the body or mind, but should try to revive the Krsna consciousness of others out of compassion for them
- Vedic rituals, like prescribed sacrifices, are performed for purification of impious activities that were performed in the field of sense gratification. But action in Krsna consciousness is transcendental to the reactions of good or evil work. BG 1972 p
- Vidura wanted to point out to Dhrtarastra that everyone has to protect himself by his action and the grace of the Lord

- Vrtrasura rebuked both the demigods and the demoniac soldiers because the demons were running in fear of their lives and the demigods were killing them from behind. The actions of both were abominable
W

- We are anxious how to protect a property, how to push on this movement, how people will take it, what line of action we shall take; this is also anxiety, but that anxiety is for Krsna
- We are punished by the laws of God for either action. Those who do not believe in the laws of God or in His existence may go on committing such sins
- We are seeing that these people are sleeping, and they are seeing we are wasting our time. This is opposite view. Why? Because their line of action is different, our line of action are different
- We can perceive the action of the air when the branches of a tree move or when dry leaves on the ground collect together. Similarly, it is only by the action of the air that a body moves, and when the air circulation is impeded, many diseases result
- We can see at every moment many changes taking place in our bodies, but the spirit soul is aloof from all changes. One can neither create nor annihilate nor interfere with the actions of material nature
- We do not belong to this material creation, but we have come here. Just like one does not belong to the prisonhouse, but by his own action he comes to the prisonhouse. He becomes criminal, and therefore he is put into the prisonhouse. By his own activity
- We Gaudiya Vaishnavas, under the guidance of Lord Chaitanya, want steady attention for Krishna, not flickering. Therefore, in our line of thoughts and action there is no scope for worshiping any other demigods
- We have got our English Srimad-Bhagavatam and there will be no difficulty to impress the audience with our Siddhantas and any intelligent man impressed with our Siddhantas will certainly change his life's mode of action
- We have just begun performing this fruitive activity, a sacrificial fire, but due to the many imperfections in our action, we are not certain of its result
- We have just begun the performance of this fruitive activity, a sacrificial fire, without certainty of its result due to the many imperfections in our action
- We have several times been requested by so-called devotees to take up the Tenth Canto immediately, but we have refrained from such an action because we wish to present SB as the science of God and not as a sensuous understanding for the conditioned soul
- We have to choose our course of action very carefully lest the stringent laws of nature react to bind us to suffering. It is therefore necessary to understand what work to do and what work to avoid
- We have to see things by their resultant action. The resultant action of human civilization in the age of Kali is dissatisfaction, so everyone is anxious to get peace of mind
- We may be performing some action which we may consider to be very good work, but if we do not perform it in Krsna consciousness we have to suffer the reactions
- We may perform work which may be very altruistic or humanitarian in the opinion of the world and yet be bound to material activity. So it is not the action itself which is important but the consciousness in which the action is carried out
- We must find the supreme will in every action of the cosmic situation. That is the instruction of Isopanisad
- We must have some centre of activity either by establishing a temple of our line of action or by establishing an organization like Ramakrishna Mission for this cultural work
- We often hear of persons performing wonderful actions, yet despite their energetic accomplishments, they still remain persons. If this is possible for human beings, why isn't it possible for the Supreme Lord
- We ourselves may forget what we have done in previous lives, but because the Lord witnesses our actions, the results of our actions are always there, and we have to undergo the reactions nonetheless
- Whatever action a great man performs, common men follow. And whatever standards he sets by exemplary acts, all the world pursues
- Whatever action he (a sannyasi) performs, he performs it as service to the Lord. He does not give serious attention to the fruitive activities or prescribed duties mentioned in the Vedas. BG 1972 purports
- Whatever action is performed by a great man, common men follow
- Whatever action is performed by a great man, common men follow in his footsteps. And whatever standards he sets by exemplary acts, all the world pursues. BG 3.21 - 1972
- Whatever actions a great man performs, common people follow. And whatever standards he sets by exemplary acts, all the world pursues
- Whatever right or wrong action a man performs by body, mind or speech is caused by these five factors. BG 18.15 - 1972
- When a husbandless woman is attacked by an aggressive man, she takes his action to be mercy
- When a man kills an animal, God, the affectionate father, is perturbed and is pained at heart. Thus the slaughterer of the animal is suitably punished by the material energy, just as a murderer is punished by the government through police action
- When a person becomes devoid of all material desires and liberated from all material qualities, he transcends distinctions between actions executed externally and internally
- When a person blames himself for committing an inappropriate action, his feeling is called guilt
- When Brahma described the situation of pure devotees freed from the culture of empiric philosophy and fruitive actions, he recommended the process of hearing from persons who are on the path of devotion
- When brahminical culture deteriorates, the cow and bull are mistreated, and the resultant actions are prominent by the following symptoms

- When everyone present on the battlefield saw this wonderful feat of Pradyumna's, the great fighters on both sides praised his acts of chivalry
- When her (Kuntidevi's) children were grown up, she continued to suffer because of her sons' actions. So her sufferings continued. This means that she was destined to suffer by providence, and this one has to tolerate without being disturbed
- When iron is put into a fire, it becomes warm, and when red-hot, although it is iron, it acts like fire. Similarly, when copper is surcharged with electricity, its action as copper stops; it acts as electricity

- When one acts in Krsna consciousness for the satisfaction of the senses of Krsna, any action, whether of the body, mind, intelligence or even the senses, is purified of material contamination
- When one identifies his body, his mind, his activities - everything - with Krsna, then there is no more such distinction of "higher" and "lower," either in work or in thinking or in action. No more. Because that is the purificatory process
- When one is ashamed of an abominable action, one naturally becomes down-faced. Diti came to her senses after the abominable sexual intercourse with her husband. Such sexual intercourse is condemned as prostitution
- When one is highly elevated in Krsna consciousness, in everything, in every action and every phenomenon he will see only Krsna. That is the perfection of Krsna consciousness
- When one's instrument of action is broken and cannot function, that is called death. Again, when one gets a new instrument for action, that is called birth
- When Raghunatha dasa's father and mother saw that their son was no longer acting like a crazy fellow and was responsibly attending to his duties, they became very happy
- When the bee approaches the celestial tree called the parijata, it certainly does not leave the tree, because there is no need for such action
- When the embodied living being controls his nature and mentally renounces all actions, he resides happily in the city of nine gates (the material body), neither working nor causing work to be done

- When the Supreme Lord is pleased by a person's actions, automatically all the demigods, human beings, animals, birds, bees, creepers, trees, grass and all other living entities, beginning with Lord Brahma, are pleased
- When the three worlds were submerged in water, Visnu was alone, lying on His bedstead, although He appeared to be in slumber in His own internal potency, free from the action of the external energy, His eyes were not completely closed
- When the twenty-three principal elements were set in action by the will of the Supreme, the gigantic universal form, or the visvarupa body of the Lord, came into existence
- When there is some disturbance caused by wild animals in a village or town, the police or others take action to kill them. Similarly, it is the duty of the government to kill at once all bad social elements such as thieves, dacoits and murderers
- When we are anxious how to protect a property, how to push on this movement, how people will take it, what line of action we shall take, this is also anxiety, but that anxiety is for Krsna. Therefore it is bhakti
- When we are put into suffering, it is to be understood that we are diminishing the resultant actions of our impious activities
- When we enjoy life in so-called material happiness, it is to be understood that we are diminishing the resultant actions of our pious activities
- When you live in Krsna consciousness. Then all our actions will not be binding upon us. Otherwise any little thing we do, yajnarthat karmano 'nyatra loko 'yam karma-bandhanah, we shall be entangled. And that is material life
- Where is the benefit of equal right, independence? Phalena pariciyate. We have to see the result of every action - whether the result is beneficial. If the result is not beneficial, the action is not beneficial
- Whether from material actions or from the fruitive activities recommended in the Vedic literatures - an intelligent man should cease from the desire for fruitive actions, for by such endeavors one cannot achieve the ultimate goal of life
- Without connection with Acyuta, the infallible Supreme Personality of Godhead, there is no possibility of stopping the resultant actions of the law of karma. The life of Krsna consciousness is the life of liberation
Y
- Yogis other than the devotees - namely the karma-yogi and jnana-yogi - worship You by their respective actions in their respective positions. It is stated both in the Vedas and in the sastras that are corollaries of the Vedas
- You (Visnudutas) are sinless, but those within this material world are all karmis, whether acting piously or impiously. Both kinds of action are possible for them because they are contaminated by the three modes of nature and must act accordingly
- You are walking under some mechanical arrangement with the help of the material nature, but you are thinking, "I am walking." In every step, in every action, you are completely dependent. Don't you think that, - I am walking
- You can take action according to the necessity of business, because we must use our full intelligence in any matter

- You have to follow Christ's words. You cannot imitate his action. That is real obedience
- Your dancing and distributing charity are very pleasing to me. I can understand that there is some special purpose in these actions
