A
- A demon never cares for any good instruction. He is just like a determined thief: one can give him moral instruction, but it will not be effective
- A father and mother are always affectionate to their children. When the children are disobedient the parents chastise them, not due to enmity but only for the child's instruction and welfare

- In the sixth vilasa (of Hari-bhakti-vilasa), the required practices for inviting the transcendental form of the Lord and bathing Him are given. In the seventh vilasa, one is instructed on how to collect flowers used for the worship of Lord Visnu

- The whole Vedic way of life is meant for detachment, and therefore Kunti prays, "Kindly help detach me from this family attraction." This is Kuntidevi's instruction
