- Because they (those who are ambitious to derive material benefit from devotional service) engage themselves in the devotional service of the Lord they ultimately come to understand that material enjoyment is not the goal of devotional service
- Because they make research in their teeny brain, they come to the conclusion voidism and impersonalism that, "Make it zero, this botheration." That is also imperfect. So when they come to Bhagavan and engage himself in the service, then it is perfect
- Being very pleased with Bali Maharaja for giving all his possessions, the Lord returned his kingdom and made him richer than the opulent King Indra. Even now, Bali Maharaja engages in devotional service by worshiping the SPG in the planet of Sutala

- Determination is the first qualification. As confirmed by Rupa Gosvami, One must first have firm determination, firm faith. When one engages in devotional service, he must maintain this firm determination. Then Krsna will be pleased with his service
- Development of conjugal love can be possible only with those who are already engaged in following the regulative principles of devotional service, specifically in the worship of Radha and Krsna in the temple
- Devotees (who are engaged in devotional service according to the ritualistic principles) are satisfied only in rendering transcendental loving service to the Lord
- Devotees do not care for temporary things. They engage in transcendental devotional activities because they desire elevation to the spiritual world, where they can live eternally and peacefully and with full knowledge of Krsna

- Devotional service in conjugal love can be divided into two categories. One is indirect conjugal love, the other direct. In both of these categories, one has to follow the particular gopi who is engaged in such service in Goloka Vrndavana
- Devotional service is pure when one engages in the service of the Supreme Lord without any motive and without being hampered with material impediments

- Different potencies of the Lord are engaged in serving the Supreme Lord in different transcendental relationships. They are situated in conjugal love, in parental affection, in friendship and in servitude

- Even if an unalloyed devotee is found to be fallen due to a previous material contamination, he is nevertheless to be accepted as fully transcendental because of his being engaged cent percent in the devotional service of the Lord
- Even if one fully engaged in the devotional service of the Lord is sometimes found engaged in abominable activities, these activities should be considered to be like the spots that resemble the mark of a rabbit on the moon
- Even if one is born in the family of a candala, if one engages in the devotional service of the Lord, he becomes the best of brahmanas. But even a brahmana who is devoid of devotional service is on the level of the lowest dog-eater
- Even if they are officially engaged in devotional service, they cannot achieve the highest perfectional stage. Most probably they will slip, after some time
- Even if we are accustomed to sinful activities on account of bad habits, still, we can engage ourself in devotional service of Vasudeva
- Even if you live for one day or two days and simply engaged in devotional service that will be 100 times increased. Therefore ordinary men is advised not to live in holy places more than three days

- Every living entity is always distressed in this material world because this place is such that at every step one has to meet with some kind of distress. But one who is supported by his past good deeds engages himself in devotional service of the Lord
- Every one of us who is engaged in devotional service in Krsna consciousness should be completely free from all material aspirations. Otherwise we will have to lament like Dhruva Maharaja
- Everyone cannot understand God simply by erudite scholarship or mental speculation. Only one who is actually engaged in Krsna consciousness and devotional service can understand what Krsna is. University degrees are not helpful. BG 1972 purports
- Everyone is searching after peace of mind. This is obtainable only when one is completely freed from the desire for material sense gratification and is engaged in the devotional service of the Lord
- Everyone must be educated in Visnu worship and engaged in the devotional service of Hrsikesa, the owner of the senses. The conditioned souls are meant not to satisfy their material senses but to satisfy the senses of Hrsikesa
- Everyone should engage in devotional service through Krsna consciousness. If one wants to be happy and peaceful in his position, either as a householder or citizen or member of human society, one must promote devotional service for pleasure of the Lord
- Everyone should engage in devotional service to the Supreme Lord, who is the maintainer of this whole universe
- Everyone should engage in His devotional service, including arcana (Deity worship) in the temple. This is the desire of the Supreme Lord, and one who fulfills His desires favorably is actually a pure devotee
- Everyone should engage in preaching, following in the footsteps of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. In this way one will be very much appreciated by Lord Krsna and will quickly be recognized by Him
- Everything belongs to the Supreme Personality of Godhead; therefore everything can be engaged in the service of the Lord

- Factually there is no need of offering sacrifices to the demigods for their services if one is engaged in the service of the Supreme Lord
- For a person engaged in devotional service in the renounced order, having intimate relationships with women is certainly hypocrisy

- For getting that supreme knowledge (I am not this body, but I am spirit soul) so many, I mean to say, transcendentalists, they were trying life after life, just to get detached. But the easiest process is that if one is engaged in the devotional service
- For learning Vedic knowledge, one must approach a person who is cent percent engaged in devotional service. He must not do things which are forbidden in the sastras. A person cannot be a teacher if he drinks or smokes
- For one who is fully engaged in My devotional service, whose mind is fixed on Me in bhakti-yoga, the path of speculative knowledge and dry renunciation is not very beneficial
- For one who wants to advance in Krsna consciousness, Krsna creates all these qualities, but the person develops them himself from within. One who engages in the devotional service of the Supreme Lord develops all the good qualities. BG 1972 purports
- For one who worships Me, engaged in devotional service and always meditating upon Me, who has fixed his mind upon Me, O son of Prtha, for him I am the swift deliverer from the ocean of birth and death. BG 12.6-7 - 1972
- For ordinary persons God is not visible; however, when one can understand the significance of His holy name and one engages himself in the devotional service, beginning with the tongue, by chanting and tasting prasada, then gradually God reveals Himself

- Generally people are addicted, infected with the qualities of ignorance and passion. How he can understand Krsna? It is not possible. So one has to engage himself this devotional service
- Generally, once elevated to the transcendental platform of brahma-sukha, transcendental bliss, one never comes down. But if one does not engage in devotional service, there is a chance of his returning to the material platform
- Generally, the bhakti-yogis are engaged in five different ways: 1) santa-bhakta, engaged in devotional service in neutrality; 2) dasya-bhakta, engaged in devotional service as servant; 3) sakhya-bhakta, engaged as friend. BG 1972 purports
- Generally, the bhakti-yogis are engaged in five different ways: 4) vatsalya-bhakta, engaged as parent; and 5) madhurya-bhakta, engaged as conjugal lover of the Supreme Lord. BG 1972 purports
- God is easily understandable for the pure devotee because God declares in the Bhagavad-gita that after surpassing the stage of knowledge, when one is able to be engaged in the devotional service, then only can one know the true nature of the Lord
- Gradually you will understand what it means to please Krishna and what it means to displease Krishna. That you will learn by studying our books and by yourself engaging in practical devotional service

- Haridasa Thakura engaged in the sravana-kirtana process without worshiping the Deity. However, one should not falsely imitate him and abandon Deity worship just to try to engage in sravana-kirtana. This is not possible for neophyte devotees
- Haridasa Thakura was strictly renounced, and thus Ramacandra Khan called for prostitutes because prostitutes know how to break a man's vow of celibacy by their feminine influence and thus pollute a mendicant or a person engaged in devotional life
- He (a devotee) does not extraneously endeavor to acquire these qualifications, but engagement in Krsna consciousness and devotional service automatically helps him develop them. BG 1972 purports
- He (a living entity) should engage himself in the devotional service of the Lord so that his identity with the material body will automatically be forgotten. BG 1972 purports
- He (a pure devotee) continues to develop all great qualities while engaged in Krsna consciousness and devotional service
- He (A pure devotee) fully engages in the service of the Lord, and for other affairs he simply spares as much time as absolutely necessary
- He (Caitanya Mahaprabhu) said, janmani janmani: "Life after life, I want to be engaged in Your devotional service." This is real characteristic, and that should be followed. So this is the essence of Vedic knowledge
- He (Maharaja Prthu) has repeatedly advised persons who are neophytes to engage themselves in devotional service according to the capacities of the different orders of social and spiritual life
- He (one who is engaged in devotional service relishes the fruit of love of Godhead) no longer desires to satisfy his senses, and he no longer desires to become one with the Supreme Lord by merging into His effulgence
- He (one who is engaged in devotional service) has to eat krsna-prasada. He has to sleep according to regulated principles. The principle is to reduce the duration of sleep and to reduce eating, taking only what is needed to keep the body fit

- He (Prthu) thanked them (his subjects) in a humble way for engaging in devotional service and thus bestowing their mercy upon him
- He (the devotee) has no business mixing with others, for although he does not see anyone as his enemy, his dealings are only with persons who engage in devotional service
- He (the living entity) has to realize and at the same time engage himself in the devotional service of the Lord; then he can exist in the Brahman status. Otherwise he falls down

- Hearers (of the Srimad-Bhagavatam which is full of the Lord's pastimes) are benefited both ultimately and for as long as they are in the material world. That is the supreme, sublime result of engaging in devotional service

- Less than them (women, merchants and laborers) are the Kiratas, Hunas, Andhras, Pulindas, Pulkasas, Abhiras, Kankas, Yavanas, Khasas, etc., but all of them can be delivered if they are properly engaged in the devotional service of the Lord
- Lord Caitanya made this process (of reaching the highest perfection of knowledge) very easy: He asked people simply to chant Hare Krsna & to engage in the devotional service of God & eat the remnants of foodstuff offered to the Deity. BG 1972 purports

- Patience is necessary for developing the confidence that "Krsna will certainly accept me because I am engaging in devotional service." One has only to execute service according to the rules and regulations to insure success
- Perfection comes when one realizes that he is not this body; he is spirit soul. Brahma-bhuta (SB 4.30.20) - that is called Brahman realization. That is perfection. And samsiddhi comes after Brahman realization, when one engages in devotional service
- Perfection in self-realization cannot be attained by any kind of yogi unless he engages in devotional service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, for that is the only auspicious path
- Persons engaged in devotional service to Lord Vasudeva, Krsna, have naturally perfect knowledge and detachment from this material world. Therefore such devotees are not interested in the so-called happiness or so-called distress of this world

- Real buddhi yoga is how to be engaged in devotional service
- Regardless of one's circumstances, if one fully engages his activities, mind and words in the devotional service of the Lord, he should be understood to be a liberated person
- Rupa Gosvami has discussed the sequence of sinful activities of the conditioned soul, and he has established, in Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu, that those who engage in devotional service become freed from the reactions of all sinful activities

- Sa gunan samatityaitan brahma-bhuyaya kalpate: one who is engaged in devotional service has already been freed from the reactions of his material karma, and thus he immediately becomes brahma-bhuta (SB 4.30.20), or transcendental
- Sadhana-bhakti divided into many different parts, including faith, association with devotees, initiation by the spiritual master, engagement in ds under the instructions of a spiritual master, steadiness in ds and the awakening of a taste for ds
- Sadhavah (meaning "pious" or "well behaved") is very important, especially at the present moment. It is derived from the word sadhu. A perfect sadhu is one who is always engaged in the devotional service of the Supreme Personality of Godhead

- The preliminary qualification for entering into the devotional service of God is that one become a willing cooperator, and as such one should voluntarily cooperate with persons who are already engaged in the transcendental devotional service of God
- The program of devotional service to the Lord is executed from morning to night. Indeed, Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita that one must engage in devotional service to Him twenty-four hours a day

- There is no birth, death, old age and disease for the spiritual body, so one who attains a spiritual body, becomes one of the associates of the Supreme Personality of Godhead and engages in eternal devotional service, is really liberated. BG 1972 purports
- There is no limit to His (God's) glories, and there is no limit to engaging oneself in the service of the Lord
- There is one instance of a hunter who attained salvation and engaged himself in the devotional service of the Lord simply by associating with the pure devotee Narada
- There may be so many material distinctions for one who takes birth in human society, but everyone should engage in the Lord's devotional service

- Those who are ambitious to derive material benefit from devotional service are not pure devotees, but because they are engaged in devotional service they are considered fortunate
- Those who are confident that they are not the material body, that they are spiritual parts of the SPG and are therefore engaged in the transcendental service of the Supreme Godhead, have nothing to fear. Their future is very bright. BG 1972 purports
- Those who are directly engaged in the devotional service of the Lord not only acquire the necessary knowledge in spiritual science, but also attain detachment from material connection and are thus promoted to the kingdom of God by complete liberation
- Those who are engaged in auspicious activities in devotional service certainly understand that the ultimate enjoyer or beneficiary of all activities is the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- Those who are engaged in devotional service are acting for Krsna or God, and since in this way there is connection with God, Krsna consciousness is a religion
- Those who are engaged in devotional service, they are not under karma. Their destiny is being prepared by Krsna

- Those who are engaged in the devotional service of the Lord have already transcended the material position
- Those who are in a better position in the world, having sufficient wealth, should especially take lessons from Manu, who acknowledged his kingdom and opulence to be gifts from Supreme Personality of Godhead and thus always engaged in devotional service
- Those who are in Krsna consciousness and are engaged in devotional service under the instructions of Narada Muni are not subjected to the influence of Yamaraja and his sister Jara
- Those who are in pursuit of knowledge and who get the opportunity to associate with a pure devotee also engage in the devotional service of the Lord
- Those who are in the yoga system and have realized the self, the world, and the Supreme Lord, in other words, the bhakti-yogis, those engaged in pure devotional service in Krsna consciousness, can understand how things are taking place. BG 1972 purports
- Those who are pure devotees do not aspire for any concession, and out of spontaneous love try to engage themselves in devotional service 24 hours each day, 365 days every year, without any stoppage
- Those who are supported by impious acts cannot be engaged in the devotional service of the Lord, even though they are distressed. This is also confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 7.15)
- Those who aspire to be elevated to the heavenly planets by devotional service will be frustrated, because this is not the result of devotional service. However, they are also given a chance to engage in devotional service and be purified
- Those who engage in devotional service are unaffected by the results of their material activities. Otherwise, everyone, from the smallest microbe up to the King of heaven, Indra, is subject to the laws of karma
- Those who engage in devotional service or worship the Supreme Lord - Visnu, or Krsna - go to the Vaikuntha planets or Krsnaloka
- Those who engage in the devotional service of the Supreme Personality of Godhead return home, back to Godhead
- Those who engage in the service of Lord Nityananda Prabhu and Lord Advaita Prabhu generally have relationships of parental love, fraternity, servitude and neutrality
- Those who have no faith even after hearing about Krsna and the excellence of devotional service, who think that it is simply eulogy, find the path very difficult, even if they are supposedly engaged in devotional service. BG 1972 purports
- Those who're engaged in the pure DS of the Lord, who're without any desire for self-aggrandizement & who're freed from the effects of fruitive actions & dry philosophical speculations are capable of getting out of the estrangements of this complicated age
- Those who're inclined to material activities remain in the material sphere. But persons who engage in devotional service reach the abode of God, where there is neither birth nor death nor different varieties of life under the influence of the law of karma
- Those, however, who are consciously engaged in the devotional service of the Lord are transcendental to all varieties of sin and virtue. Their activities are free from the contamination of the three modes of material nature
- Though a person may be from a lowborn family, if he is engaged in the Lord's service he should never be considered to belong to a lowborn family
- Through the study of Vedic literatures - of which the essence is the Bhagavad-gita - one comes to Krsna consciousness. Thus one engages in devotional service, called abhidheya
- Thus (after getting in touch with a bona fide spiritual master) one engages in devotional service and attains the ultimate goal of life, the lotus feet of Visnu

- To be empowered by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, one has to qualify himself. This means that one must engage twenty-four hours daily in the loving devotional service of the Lord
- To be immuned to the infection of the gunas, we have to engage in bhakti-yoga. Once we attain the perfectional stage, we attain ecstatic love of Godhead. In that state we cannot remain without Krsna for a moment. That is called bhava
- To become Brahman means to be completely engaged in rendering devotional service to the Lord. Thus the mahatma understands that if service is to be rendered, it is to be to Krsna & no one else. We have so long served our senses; now we should serve Krsna
- To become gods in the next life, they must engage in the devotional service of the Supreme Personality of Godhead; otherwise, they are sure to become dogs or hogs in terms of the laws of nature
- To engage oneself in devotional service under the order of the spiritual master and the sastra is the way to remain on the transcendental platform
- To get out of this karma-bandha, one must engage himself in devotional service. Then one will not be affected by the modes of material nature
- To go to the forest means to accept exclusively the shelter of the Supreme Personality of Godhead and engage oneself in full service
- To increase attachment for Brahman means to engage in devotional service. Those who are attached to the impersonal form of Brahman cannot remain attached for very long
- To remain free from the infection of these gunas, then we have to engage ourselves in the bhakti-yoga
- To remain immune from the material qualities, one must engage himself in devotional service - sravanam kirtanam visnoh (SB 7.5.23). That is the perfection of life
- To the impersonalist, achieving the brahma-bhuta stage, becoming one with the Absolute, is the last word. But for the personalist, or pure devotee, one has to go still further to become engaged in pure devotional service. BG 1972 purports

- Ultimately when one takes shelter at the lotus feet of the Supreme Personality of Godhead and engages in the Lord's service, the resultant knowledge is called vijnana, special knowledge, or the practical application of spiritual knowledge
- Unflinching devotional service, as described in these two verses (SB 3.25.39-40), means engaging oneself in full Krsna consciousness, or devotional service, accepting the Supreme Lord as all in all
- Unless a person is pure, he can neither understand what the PG is nor engage in His service in love, for devotional service, as stated before, begins from the point of self-realization, when all misgivings of materialistic life are vanquished
- Unless one comes to this position of understanding Krsna and engages in devotional service, however intelligent he may be in the estimation of some common man, he is not perfectly intelligent. BG 1972 purports

- Unless Sri Krsna Caitanya Mahaprabhu discloses the fact, no one can understand who is actually a great devotee of the Lord engaged in His service
- Unless you know God, unless you know Krsna, you cannot engage yourself fully, devoutly, in the service of the Lord. Krsna is unlimited. It is not possible to know Him fully. But if you understand Him slightly then you become a brahmin

- Vaisnavas must follow in the footsteps of Advaita Acarya, for by so doing one can actually engage in the devotional service of the Lord
- Vanam gato yad dharim asrayeta (SB 7.5.5). Sannyasa means accepting unalloyed engagement in the service of the Lord
- Varnasrama-dharma is the systematic institution for advancing in worship of Visnu. But if one engages in the process of devotional service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, it may not be necessary to undergo the disciplinary system of varnasrama
- Vasudeve bhagavati bhakti-yogah prayojitah. If one engages in devotional service to Vasudeva, he will receive the highest knowledge without delay - janayaty asu vairagyam
- Vidhi-marga is called bhakti-yoga. Vidhi-marga means by following the regulative principles of sastra, orders of the spiritual master, when we engage ourself in devotional service, that is called vidhi-marga
- Visnu tells Siva in the age of Kali, men full of anxieties of various kinds can vainly labor in fruitive activity & philosophical speculations, but when they are engaged in devotional service, the result is sure & certain, & there is no loss of energy

- We (sages) know well that persons who have become liberated by engagement in Your devotional service are no longer contaminated by the material modes of nature; thus they have become eligible to be promoted to the kingdom of God in the spiritual world
- We accept a disciple to engage in the bhajana-kriya - first of all he must give up these anarthas. So these anarthas, one cannot giving up smoking or drinking, but actually, if he takes to devotional service, he can very easily give up
- We are canvassing people that they should simply utilize their time for loving God by engaging in his devotional service
- We are spirit souls, but because we have been put into the material ocean, the currents are carrying us away. However, if we engage twenty-four hours a day in hearing, chanting, and seriously serving Krsna, the current will stop
- We are taking care of the body for the reason that we shall go back and engage this body in the service of Krsna. That is our main objective, it is not that we simply take care of the body and there is no need of Krsna consciousness
- We associate with the three qualities of material nature, our position in this material world is full of dangers, but when we engage in the devotional service of God by the process of sravanam & kirtanam, we immediately become vimukta-sanga, or liberated
- We can imagine how merciful Krsna is to those engaged in His service, risking everything for Him. Therefore it is certain that such persons must reach the supreme planet after leaving the body. BG 1972 purports
- We cannot learn this transcendental subject matter by challenge. If we are submissive, if we are engaged in His service, then, by His divine grace, He reveals Himself
- We cannot remain without speaking or hearing. That is a practical fact. But when that speaking and hearing is engaged in the matter of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, that is called devotional service
- We demigods can only aspire to achieve human births in Bharata-varsa to execute devotional service, but these human beings are already engaged there
- We do not want any remuneration for this service because we have engaged ourselves in the service of the Lord
- We have to elevate ourselves from a lower position to a higher position, and the topmost position is that of direct service in Vrndavana. But everyone is engaged in service. Denial of the service of the Lord is maya
- We have to suffer for our past deeds. That is a fact, and we cannot avoid it. But karmani nirdahati kintu ca bhakti-bhajam (Bs. 5.54): the sufferings of those who engage in devotional service in Krsna consciousness are minimized
- We must be satisfied in whatever position we have been put into by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and we should try to engage ourselves in His devotional service. Then our lives will be successful
- We must engage in the nine processes of devotional service, the first of which is hearing (sravana). Then, under the direction of the spiritual master and the sastras, one can immediately become a liberated person
- We should get up early in the morning and engage ourselves in the service of Krsna; then gradually we will forget the service of maya. Bhakti-yoga is so strong that if we engage in it, maya's service will automatically be negated. This is called vairagya
- Whatever they desire for the future will be baffled. Even if they apparently engage in devotional service, they are described as moghasah because they ultimately desire to merge into the Brahman effulgence
- When a brahmana engages in the Lord's service, fully understanding his eternal relationship, his devotional service is called abhidheya. When one attains that stage, he is called a bhagavata, or Vaisnava
- When a brahmana engages in the Lord's service, this indicates that he is free from contamination and material attachment
- When a devotee comes to the platform of pancama-purusartha, simply engaging in devotional service to the Lord, the fourth purusartha, liberation, becomes very insignificant in his eyes
- When a devotee is actually engaged in the devotional service of the Lord, his apparently material opulences are not material; they are all spiritual
- When a devotee is engaged in the service of the Lord, it is called the attainment of yoga
- When a devotee no longer has any desire for material sense gratification, in his spiritual identity he engages in the service of the Lord, for his dormant spiritual consciousness awakens. This awakening of spiritual consciousness makes his body spiritual
- When a fortunate living entity somehow comes in contact with a pure devotee of the Lord and engages in devotional service, he enters upon the path of perfection
- When a neophyte devotee is actually initiated and engaged in devotional service by the orders of the spiritual master, he should be accepted immediately as a bona fide Vaisnava, and obeisances should be offered unto him
- When a person becomes atmarama, or a great thinker in Krsna consciousness, he fully engages in devotional service
- When a person engages in devotional service, he gives up all material desires and becomes fully attached to Krsna, being inspired by the transcendental qualities of the Lord. Such is the beauty of the Lord in the eyes of His devotee
- When a person is advanced in Krishna Consciousness he should always think that my time may not go in vain without being engaged in Krishna's service
- When a person is fully engaged in devotional service, he is favored by the Lord, who bestows His causeless mercy. At such a time, the awakened devotee gives up all material activities and ritualistic performances mentioned in the Vedas
- When a person thus engages in DS and self-realization for many, many years and births, he becomes completely reluctant to enjoy any one of the material planets, even up to the highest planet, which is known as Brahmaloka
- When a pure devotee receives material opulences, this is not because of his pious activity but for the service of the Lord. When one engages in devotional service, one is automatically pious
- When devotees are actually engaged in offering service to the Lord directly, these must be bhagavatas, or pure devotees
- When devotees are engaged in the discharge of bhakti-yoga, sometimes they cry from thinking of Krsna, sometimes they laugh, sometimes they become jubilant
- When freed (from the clutches of the external potency, maya), the living entity awakens to Krsna consciousness and engages in devotional service with love and affection
- When he (Daruka) was engaged in such service, he was filled with ecstatic love, and the symptoms of ecstatic love became manifest in his body
- When he (the living entity) is freed from the bodily conception, he can engage in devotional service, which is his actual position of freedom from the clutches of maya. This is all explained in the following verse from the Bhagavad-gita - BG 7.14
- When he (the living entity) is not thus engaged (in devotional service), he is in a diseased condition, but as soon as he engages all his senses in the transcendental loving service of the Lord, he is in his normal, healthy condition
- When he heard that the Savalasvas had also left this world to engage in devotional service, Daksa was angry at Narada, and he almost fainted due to lamentation. When Daksa met Narada, Daksa's lips began trembling in anger, and he spoke as follows
- When his (the living entity's) dormant Krsna consciousness is awakened, he no longer engages in the service of matter but engages in the service of the Lord
- When Krsna or Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is the center, everyone can engage in different activities for the service of the Lord. That is the verdict of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu
- When Laksmana, the younger brother of Lord Ramacandra, heard of this, He immediately engaged Himself in the service of His elder brother and accepted His orders. The order of the spiritual master must be obeyed without consideration
- When Lord Ramacandra was residing in Dandakaranya, the sages who were engaged in devotional service there became attracted by His beauty and immediately thought of the gopis at Vrndavana, who enjoyed conjugal loving affection with Krsna
- When Maharaja Bharata was actually worshiping the Lord or was engaged in some ritualistic ceremony, although his activities were unfinished, he would still, at intervals, get up and see where the deer was
- When one actually engages in the service of the Lord in various forms, either Narayana or Radha-Krsna or Sita-Rama, he is understood to be on the platform of liberation
- When one becomes above the gunas by devotional service . . . guna means quality. A devotee is on the position of first-class human society because a devotee is engaged in devotional service
- When one becomes detached from material attraction and engages fully in devotional service, that is changlessness
- When one can understand that there is no difference between the Supreme and His name, one becomes more interested in petitioning the Lord: Hare Krsna - O my Lord, O energy of the Lord, please engage me in Your service
- When one engages fully in the activities of devotional service, bhakti-yoga, he becomes just like the sun reflected on water
- When one engages himself in the nine processes of devotional service, one's heart becomes purified, and he immediately understands his relationship with Krsna
- When one engages his senses in devotional service, the eternal Supreme Personality of Godhead is revealed on the platform of the soul
- When one engages in devotional service completely employing all the activities of the senses in the service of the Lord, the venomous quality of the senses is completely nullified
- When one engages in devotional service in Krsna consciousness, he still has to eat, sleep, defend and mate because these are necessities of the body. But he performs such activities in a regulated way
- When one engages in devotional service in the first stages of hearing and chanting, the Lord, who is in everyone's heart, helps the devotee in cleansing his heart
- When one engages in devotional service to the Lord in the nine different kinds of bhakti-yoga, either in one of them, or two or three or all of them - he naturally has no opportunity to engage in the service of the three modes of material nature
- When one engages in devotional service, Krishna gives intelligence from within
- When one engages in devotional service, naturally the attraction for personal comfort - for eating, sleeping and dressing - is reduced
- When one engages in preaching work, he must distinguish between people and understand that some people are not engaged in the devotional service of the Lord. The preacher then has to take compassion upon such innocent people
- When one engages in the Lord’s devotional service, he becomes detached from material enjoyment
- When one engages in the spiritual activities of devotional service, naturally he does not get any opportunity to engage in sense gratificatory activities
- When one engages in the transcendental devotional service of the Lord one becomes aware that his constitutional position, as an individual soul, is to be eternally a servitor of the Supreme Lord, Vasudeva
- When one engages oneself in the devotional service of the Lord, automatically the Vaisnava reputation comes to him. There is no need to be envious of the devotees who are engaged in preaching the glories of the Lord
- When one fully engages in the transcendental loving service of the Lord, he becomes a Vaisnava. Prthu Maharaja warns his citizens who are actually engaged in the devotional service of the Lord to take care against offenses to the brahmanas and Vaisnavas
- When one is actually engaged in devotional service, he forgets his material ambitions and desires
- When one is actually enlivened by the spiritual energy, all his senses become purified, and he engages only in the service of the Lord
- When one is engaged in devotional service, he is no longer attracted to material activities. When a man is covered by different designations, he cannot engage in devotional service
- When one is engaged in devotional service, he is often surrounded by envious people, and often many enemies come to try to defeat him or stop him
- When one is engaged in devotional service, there is no scope for his senses to be engaged otherwise. In such full Krsna consciousness, one can understand the Supreme Lord as He is
- When one takes to Krsna consciousness and engages himself in the devotional service of the Lord - beginning with chanting and hearing the glories of the Lord - the cleansing of the heart begins
