- Brain-washed they call it, you know, by getting up and having the two hours or three of chanting in the morning and prayer beads constantly and the group life, that they're sort of controlled, and denied their freedom. What do you say about that?
- But is it (that worship made by trees and other lower animals) voluntary or involuntary?

- Can we find it (truth) only in the scriptures, in following all the regulative principles we're following day after day, or can we find also that truth by following our own path, by keeping our own freedom to do whatever we like?
- Can we not also say that self and not self must separate, either in death involuntarily, or through destiny?
- Can we withdraw our independence, can we request Krsna to force us to surrender to Him, due to our conditioning?
- Couldn't we say that we as men are determined to freedom, determined to indeterminism, so to say, determined to take some responsibility?

- If a large section of the people don't want spiritual life, should this be forced on them if they don't want it?
- If destiny cannot be changed, what does Krsna mean when He says, "Be thou happy by this sacrifice"?
- If Krsna knows already what you're going to do in the future, then what is the question of your independence?
- If Krsna knows past, present and future, then where is the question of our independence? In other words, He knows already what we're going to desire?
- If not even a blade of grass moves unless Krsna sanctions it, then why does someone have the opportunity to perform such ajnata-sukrti, another person not?

- If there is no God, then it doesn't matter what I do. But there is God, and He knows what I am going to do at every moment, then it doesn't matter what I do either. He knows what I am going to do, so what does it matter? I can do anything
- In the Srimad-Bhagavatam, it says that Krsna did not want us to come to this material world. If Krsna did not want us to come, why are we here?
- Is it because we have the desire to come in contact with such persons that we contact them, like Nitai contacting that Purusottama?
- Is it possible that every man's life is directed by God, and you're born to do certain things, and you come to be prime minister or something?

- Krsna knows everything in the past and everything in the future, so can we say it is predestined?

- One has a choice to either be controlled by love or by force. One who actually understands the distinction, is it possible that he will still choose to be controlled by the material nature?

- Prabhupada, I read in the Srimad-Bhagavatam, Volume Three, that when one becomes a liberated soul, he attains perfect freedom, and even sometimes that freedom is on the same level as Krsna or even more than Krsna
- Prabhupada, in case, for example some scientist makes a change, like if the scientist comes and cuts off my hand, that's also my karma. In that way he's not making a change. Everything that is happening is God's plan?

- Take that example of the habit, if someone is smoking out of habit. So again. So is he free in that smoking, or is it..., has he completely surrendered his freedom?
- That independence, if he (the living entity) exercises that independence from now on, forever, Krsna knows exactly how that independence is going to be used forever?
- The animal is completely under the modes, but the human being, the modes' influence is reduced sufficiently so that he can make this decision, from, whether to accept or reject Krsna?

- You say that we have a choice, that either we can surrender to Krsna, or we can remain under the control of the external energy. Those in the mode of passion and ignorance, do they have any choice?
- You were speaking in SB class about Ajamila and how by circumstances he fell down, and that because it wasn't intentional, Krsna forgave him. So, but still, at one point or another, he agreed to the desires of the prostitute. So isn't that free will?
- Your Grace, if we could perhaps go back over that just for a minute - you said nobody is free… But are you saying that if we live a good life we in some way determine our future as well?
