Previous page (Material progress means) | Next page (Maya means disharmony between the living entities and the Supreme Lord, and Vaikuntha means harmony between them. Actually all living entities are provided for and maintained by the Lord because He is the supreme living entity)
- Materially opulent disciple
- Materially opulent men, being puffed up with the accumulation of wealth, also become so merciless that they indulge in killing animals by opening slaughterhouses. And they think that they themselves will never die
- Materially speaking, every living entity dies; death is inevitable. But those who are karmis, jnanis and yogis return to this material world after death, whereas bhaktas do not
- Materially the father agitates the mother and the body is formed, similarly, spiritually, the spiritual master agitates the mother of Vedic knowledge, and the spiritual body is formed. This is called dvijah
- Materially we are limited to impregnate by only one particular part of our body, but the Supreme Lord, Krsna or Maha-Visnu, can impregnate by any part. Simply by glancing the Lord can conceive countless living entities in the womb of material nature
- Materially we are limited to impregnating by only one particular part of our body, but the Supreme Lord, Krsna or Maha-Visnu, can impregnate by any part - CC Intro
- Materially we can understand that our father is a person, and that his father is also a person, and that his father's father is a person and so on back to the supreme father, who must also be a person. This is not very difficult to understand
- Materially willing means

- Mathura City contained different communities, known then as Dasarha, Bhoja, Andhaka and Satvata. All these communities were different branches of the same family in which Krsna appeared, namely the Yadu dynasty
- Mathura and Hastinapura, the capital of the Kurus, are both puras. Personalities like Arjuna, Bhima, Draupadi and Sridama Brahmana are counted amongst Krsna's fraternal devotees in the puras
- Mathura and Vrndavana are the abodes of Lord Krsna. Therefore these two places are very dear to Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, and He wanted to develop their glories through Sanatana Gosvami
- Mathura was also made the capital of the kings of the Yadu dynasty because the Yadus were a very pious family and knew that Mathura is the place where Krsna lives eternally, just as He also lives in Dvaraka
- Mati means
- Matih means
- Matir na krsne svatah. Svatah means by his personal mental speculation. Just like many philosophers are thinking to reach the Absolute Truth beyond this limitation. That is called svatah, by personal speculation
- Matr means
- Matra means
- Matrvat para-daresu. From the very beginning of life, all women they are treated as mother. That is the system, Vedic system. Everyone will call a woman as "Mother." Never mind whether she is younger or older. It doesn't matter
- Matrvat para-daresu. This is culture, to see every woman except his own wife as mother
- Matsarata means
- Matsarata means envious. I am envious of you, you are envious of me. This is material life. Therefore in the Srimad-Bhagavatam it is stated that this Krsna consciousness is not for the people who are envious
- Matsarya
- Matsarya means
- Matsya
- Matsya Purana
- Matsya avatara, the fish incarnation
- Matta means
- Mattah means
- Mattah parataram nanyat kincid asti dhananjaya (BG 7.7). The truth is there. They do not know. Half-educated. This is very good, "Truth is the . . ." We also say, but they do not know what is that truth
- Mattah smrtir jnanam apohanam ca: (BG 15.15) From Me (Krsna) come remembrance, knowledge and forgetfulness
- Mattah smrtir jnanam apohanam ca (BG 15.15). Because the conditioned soul wants to forget You (the Supreme Personality of Godhead), by Your grace You give him opportunities, life after life, by which he can almost perpetually forget You
- Matter, antimatter, proton, neutron, etc., are all different effects of the Paramatma feature of the Lord
- Matter, which has no self-knowledge, cannot be the cause of the material creation. The ultimate creator is the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- Matter also has the potency to manifest living entities in the form of vegetables. In this sense, life comes out of matter, but matter also comes out of life
- Matter and spirit (Books)
- Matter and spirit (Conversations)
- Matter and spirit (Lectures)
- Matter and spirit (Letters)
- Matter and spirit are all nondifferent from the Supreme Brahman, Bhagavan
- Matter and spirit are diametrically opposed. When we are inspired by devotional service to the Lord, our original identity begins to manifest in us and ultimately brings us to God-realization
- Matter can be converted to spirit?
- Matter can never work automatically, without a living hand, and therefore we must admit the existence of God, the supreme living being, behind the laws of nature
- Matter cannot act independently or automatically. Machines may be very wonderfully constructed, but unless a man touches that machine, it cannot work. And what is that man? He is a spiritual spark
- Matter cannot combine together automatically. These skyscraper buildings, they are created with matter, but the matter has not come to become skyscraper building automatically. That is not possible
- Matter cannot develop. That you have got experience. A dead body does not develop. A living body develops
- Matter cannot develop by itself, not possible. Superior energy must touch it, & then it will be active. To give another example, a machine is matter - it is inferior energy - & therefore unless an operator comes to touch the machine, it will not act
- Matter cannot evolve; that is not possible
- Matter cannot work without being directed by a living being. We cannot say that matter works independently
- Matter does not develop unless in contact with the superior spiritual, or antimaterial, energy, which is directly part and parcel of the spiritual whole
- Matter does not increase or decrease unless it is spiritually touched. Matter is a product of spirit and increases only by the touch of spirit
- Matter does not work. The Supreme Personality of Godhead, by His different energies, He is working. That is Krsna. You have to understand like that. Krsna is in the background
- Matter does not work automatically. It requires higher brain, higher manipulation, therefore higher order. Just like in this material world we have got the highest order, the sun, movement of the sun, the heat energy, light energy of the sun
- Matter grows and develops because of the presence of the spirit soul, and this principle has been followed from the very beginning of the creation
- Matter interacts with matter, but the soul does not belong to the material world. This means that the soul is above material action and reaction
- Matter is a part of life? Component?
- Matter is a product of spirit. According to the Bhagavad-gita, the supreme spirit, the Personality of Godhead, is the source of all energies
- Matter is activated by the spirit soul; it is not that the soul is created by matter
- Matter is called prakrti, which refers to female energy. A woman is prakrti, a female. A female cannot produce a child without the association of a purusa, a man
- Matter is compared to the piece of iron, and it is electrified or made red-hot by the glance or manipulation of the supreme consciousness of Visnu. Only by such electrification is the energy of matter displayed in various actions and reactions
- Matter is created by the spirit soul. Not the soul is created by matter
- Matter is not beginningless; it has a beginning. As this material body has a beginning, the universal body does also
- Matter is one energy of Krsna, and spirit is another. The spirit is superior energy, and matter is inferior energy. The matter develops when the superior energy is present
- Matter is the secondary manifestation of spirit, for matter is produced from spirit. Just as the material elements are caused by the Supreme Lord, or the Supreme Spirit, the body is also a product of the spirit soul
- Matter loses its mundaneness
- Matter means
- Matter means matter develops on spirit. Without spirit there is no existence of matter. Just like spirit means consciousness
- Matter means when our consciousness is covered to understand Krsna, that is matter
- Matter originally is spirit and when spirit is not distinctly understood, that is matter
- Matter we can understand, but on account of our long association with the matter, we cannot understand what is that spirit. But we can imagine that there is something which distinguishes a dead body and living body

- Mauhurtikas
- Mauna, for example, does not mean that one should just stop speaking. The tongue is meant for speaking, although sometimes, to make a big show, a person remains silent
- Mauna baba . . . There is no enemy. There is in Bengali, bhovara satru nai: "If you are dumb, then nobody is your enemy." So they become bhovara, means dumb; I don't speak. That means I don't create many enemies, that's all
- Mauna means
- Mauna means "silence." Silence does not mean that one should not speak at all, but that he should not speak of nonsense. He should be very enthusiastic in speaking about Krsna
- Mauna means "silence." Unless one becomes silent, he cannot think completely about the pastimes and activities of the Lord
- Mauna means don't talk rubbish. It is better not to talk than to talk foolish. So mauna is meant for them who cannot talk about Krsna. Better stop talking. Mauna-vrata. Because he does not know Krsna, he'll talk all nonsense
- Mauna necessitates refraining from nonsensical talking, and engaging the talking facility in the pastimes of the Lord. In that way one can chant and hear about the Lord in order to perfect his life

- Maya's Spell Is So Strong - Prabhupada 0447
- Maya's disciple
- Maya's function is to give afflictions to the nondevotees
- Maya's illusion, we are taking this miserable condition of life as happiness. This is called maya. But there is no happiness in this material world. Everything miserable
- Maya's influence is so strong that even learned scholars and spiritualists are also covered by maya and think themselves to be as good as the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- Maya's influence means
- Maya's most attractive feature is women and money. We Krishna Conscious men have to deal with women and money in course of preaching work, and the only prophylactic measure to save us is not to accept them for our sense gratification
- Maya's position is not degraded. Don't think like that. Therefore Vaisnava offers all respect to Maya because she is working under Krsna. She is Vaisnavi. She is also energy of Krsna. Therefore she is also Vaisnavi
- Maya's stringent laws are there. Why? What is the purpose of the police force or the military force? The purpose is to keep the citizens obedient to the state
- Maya, however, is subdued by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who rules everyone and who is equally disposed toward all living entities. Let us offer our obeisances unto Him
- Maya, illusion, is very strong, but it is the duty of every devotee of Krsna to try to enlighten everyone to Krsna consciousness
- Maya, illusion, may catch us at any time, as soon as we are a little inattentive, thinking, "Now I have done my duty. Let me take a little rest." No, there is no rest. We must be always alert
- Maya, illusion, says to us, "Don't do it (surrendering to Krsna), or you'll be out of my clutches. Just stay in my clutches, and I'll kick you"
- Maya, just like shadow and light, they're side by side. A little crossing the marginal line between shadow and light, you are in the darkness. Similarly, a little crossing of the marginal line from the darkness to light, you are in light
- Maya, or illusion, is the condition of spiritual life contaminated by material infection. Liberation from this material infection does not mean destruction of the original eternal position of the living entity. BG 1972 purports
- Maya, or the influence of nature, in this age especially, it is very, very strong, and majority of people are therefore addicted to this sinful life: illicit sex, meat-eating, gambling and intoxication
- Maya, the external energy, continuously imposes upon the conditioned souls the suffering of the threefold miseries of this material world
- Maya, the external energy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is divided into two parts
- Maya, the illusory energy, is under the control of Krsna, so how could maya control Him? One who thinks that Krsna, like us, is controlled by maya is described in Bhagavad-gita as mudha, a fool (avajananti mam mudha manusim tanum asritam) - BG 9.11
- Maya, the illusory energy, misleads a living being as fog misleads a pedestrian by blocking off the light of the sun
- Maya, the material energy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is always giving us trouble in the shape of the threefold miseries
- Maya, the material energy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is always giving us trouble in the shape of the threefold miseries. This material energy is constituted of the three modes of material nature. BG 1972 purports
- Maya, the material nature, is causing us to dance, telling us, "You are a member of this family and a member of this nation." Thus we are dancing like monkeys
- Maya, this word, it is causative. Causative means I have caused
- Maya-mohita-cetasah means
- Maya-sakti resides outside the Karana Ocean. Maya cannot touch its waters
- Maya-sukha means
- Maya-sukhaya, that illusory happiness. And for that reason, they are making huge, gorgeous arrangement and working day and night, which will be zero
- Maya-sukhaya. Actually this is a fact. We have succeeded in creating a humbug civilization. Every year so many cars are being manufactured, and for that purpose so many roads have to be excavated, prepared and repaired
- Maya-sukhaya means
- Maya-sukhaya means the happiness which has no standing, false, illusory. For this purpose, bharam udvahato vimudhan, big, big adventure, big, big things, they are contemplating, planning. That is called ghora, ghora-rupa
- Maya (Danava) was also a materialist like that, and he knew the art of creating such wonderful things. And yet Lord Krsna wanted to kill him
- Maya Danava
- Maya Danava, the great leader of the demons, prepared three invisible residences and gave them to the demons. These dwellings resembled airplanes made of gold, silver and iron, and they contained uncommon paraphernalia
- Maya Danava is mentioned here as maha-yogi, a great mystic, but his business was to help the asuras
- Maya Danava said, "However I plan, you plan or both of us plan, the Lord has planned what is to happen. No one's plan will be successful without His sanction"
- Maya Danava said: What has been destined by the Supreme Lord for oneself, for others, or for both oneself and others cannot be undone anywhere or by anyone, whether one be a demigod, a demon, a human being or anyone else
- Maya Danava was a god among the demons, and he could perform some wonderful feats, one of which is described here (in SB 7.10.59): he made a well filled with nectar and dipped the asuras into that nectarean well
- Maya Is Always Ready To Capture - Prabhupada 0216
- Maya acts under the direction of Krsna, the Supreme Lord
- Maya always influences the conditioned soul
- Maya and Krishna are just like the sunshine and darkness: the darkness has no independent existence without the sun. But still the darkness is existing in some corner of the sunlight
- Maya and her unlimited material universes are situated in that Causal Ocean. Indeed, maya appears to be floating like a pot filled with mustard seeds
- Maya as it is, it is not that she is out of touch of Krsna. Vaisnavi. In the Candi, in the book of Maya, it is state that "Vaisnavi." The Maya is described as Vaisnavi. Just like pure devotee is called Vaisnava, she is also described there as Vaisnavi
- Maya can cover the minute particles of the spirit soul, but maya cannot cover the supreme whole
- Maya can take Krishna's place in our heart as soon as there is a slackness on our part. Otherwise, if Krishna's seated always, maya has no opportunity to occupy the seat. Try to follow this method and you will surely be successful
- Maya cannot go to Krishna means
- Maya cannot stand before Krsna. Maya stands behind Krsna. So if you put always Krsna, or if you are always Krsna consciousness, then maya cannot touch you
- Maya cannot stand without Krsna. But Krsna is not affected by maya. Because Krsna is not affected, absorbed. But the living entities, yaya sammohito jiva, the living entities, they become affected by the presence of maya
- Maya cannot touch
- Maya covers the living entity because of his willingness to forget the Supreme Personality of Godhead and make his own plan to enjoy this material world
- Maya creates a car for you, a carrying conveyance, this body. So that conveyance is according to karma. So if you act piously in this life, then next life you get good body
- Maya dictates, "Oh, why you are spoiling your time?" But the process is very simple, hearing. But maya will not allow him to accept this simple process
- Maya enchants the entire world. Indeed, people have forgotten the ultimate goal of life because of the dazzling attractions of the material world
- Maya happens to be the wife of Lord Siva, and thus Lord Siva is in association with maya, but Lord Visnu here assures Lord Siva that this maya will no longer be able to captivate him
- Maya has given this vehicle, anywhere wandering, up and down, sometimes demigod, sometimes dog. This is going on. And in this wandering process, if he gets in touch with a devotee, then his real spiritual life begins
- Maya has given this vehicle, anywhere wandering, up and down, sometimes demigod, sometimes dog. This is going on. And in this wandering process, if he gets in touch with a devotee, then his real spiritual life begins. Otherwise he has to go on rotating
- Maya has many ways to entrap us, and her strongest shackle is the female. Of course, in actuality we are neither male nor female, for these designations refer only to the outer dress, the body - CC Intro
