- Keep them alive. "Simply because we have opened a center, the business is finished." No. Alive means this morning class must go on, evening class must go on, there must be regular program for prasada distribution. Busy. That is alive
- King is never alone. There must be queen also, and queen's associates. Similarly, Krsna, the supreme king, how He can be alone? He's not alone. He's always with His associates
- Krsna did not deny what Arjuna said. "Yes," He replied. - That's a fact. Because you are in the bodily concept of life, there must be suffering. So you must tolerate it, that's all. There is no other remedy

- Our path is genuine sublime and easy. So there must be an world wide organization for pushing the movement in the Human society so much afflicted by material advancement only. This is only medium to save the people from ruination
P
- Pariprasnena means by sincere inquiries. Not only surrender; you must be intelligent enough to enquire. Not that when something is heard, and there is no question. No. There must be some question
- People should be trained up according to quality and work. There must be institution to train first-class men. There are first-class men, intellectuals. They should be trained up as brahmanas. That is the system
- Pleasure means that there must be others, and therefore Krsna, the Absolute Truth, who is always engaged in enjoying Himself, has become many
- Prostitute is necessity. Otherwise these rascals, they will pollute all the woman. Therefore, for the rascals there must be some provision

- Real civilization is how to go back to home, back to Godhead. But they do not know. Na te viduh (SB 7.5.31). The materialistic persons, they do not know. Therefore there must be organization, institution, to teach the human society how to go back to home
- Real goodness is in the transcendental world. Here in the material world, the quality of goodness is not pure. Goodness may exist, but there must also be some tinges of passion and ignorance
- Reciprocation, there must be study and inquiry. Just like a nice scholar in the college, he inquires from the professor, at the same time studies. So the process of acquiring knowledge is to study and to inquire
- Regulated human civilization promotes dharma, artha, kama and moksa. In human society there must be religion
- Russia's well-known professor of astronomy Boris Vorontsov-Veliaminov said that there must be an infinite number of planets in the universe inhabited by beings endowed with reason

- Sastra says, na grham grham ity ahuh: "Simply a house is not grha." There must be the housewife. That means wife. Grhini grham ucyate. In Hindi this word is used, garbhali means if there is no wife, that is not grha
- Science is discovering some subtle laws of the nature, but who made that law? As soon as you say that "Here is a law which is being carried very nicely," there must be a law maker. You have to accept it
- Seeing all these reverses affect devotees, one should not be disturbed; one should simply understand that in these matters there must be some plan of the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- Simply by understanding that, "I am spirit soul, I am Brahman," will not help us. You must act like Brahman. There must be realization; that is guna. At the same time, there must be practical work
- Simply understanding will not do, theoretical. Jnanam vijnanam. This theoretical knowledge is good, but there must be practical application. Then it is . . . Then it will stand
- Since all the great sages and devotees apply all energy and all activities in the service of the lotus feet of the Lord, there must be some transcendental pleasure in the toes of His lotus feet
- Since it is known that smoke is created when there is fire, from seeing the smoke on the hill one can conclude that a fire is burning there. Similarly, from seeing this cosmic manifestation the Mayavadi philosophers conclude that there must be a creator
- Since the body is a great city, there must be various arrangements such as lakes and gardens for sense enjoyment. Of the various parts of the body, those which incite sexual impulses are referred to here (SB 4.25.17) indirectly
- Since there are potencies in the living entities who are samples of the Personality of Godhead, how much potency there must be in the Supreme Godhead Himself
- Since there must always be a difference of opinion between demons and devotees, Hiranyakasipu, when criticized by his son Prahlada Maharaja, should not have been surprised that Prahlada Maharaja differed from his way of life
- Since this (CC Antya 3.56) is a quotation from the Nrsimha Purana, this indicates that in the puranic age there must also have been mlecchas and yavanas (meat-eaters), and the words ha rama, meaning "condemned," were also uttered in those days
- So far the speaking engagements are concerned, they must be well-organized and sponsored, so that there will be enough publicity and many people will come. We are not cheap, we want to speak something, but there must be good accommodations provided
- So far your road-show is concerned, we are not meant for giving performances, we are simple kirtana men. There must always be kirtana going on wherever we travel, and nothing else
- So first of all there must be a strong impulse to inquire about the transcendental subject matter. Then one requires a guru. Not that, to follow a fashion, that one has guru
- So long one is rascal, falsely thinking that he's independent, there must be the regulative principles. He must observe the regulative principles, vidhi-nisedha
- So long you are in the material world there must be classes. By nature, there is. Just like even in birds, there are a class of birds known as the crows and there is a class of birds which are called the swans
- So there must be mutual responsibility by both parties, and now that you are married couple there is no question of your separation, but you must both strive very hard to serve Krsna together in harmony
- So when the question of order is there, then there must be one order-giver, and there must be one order-carrier. Otherwise, what is the meaning, order?
- Sukadeva Gosvami continued: My dear King (Pariksit), while Nanda Maharaja was on the way home, he considered that what Vasudeva had said could not be false or useless. There must have been some danger of disturbances in Gokula - SB 10.6.1
- Sunyavadi-nirvana means to give up material desires. It is not possible to give up desires. That is not possible. To give up desires means I am dead body, a stone. If I have got life, if I am not a stone, there must be desires
- Suppose I go in a park. There is nice tank, reservoir of water, very decorated. And if I think, "There is no proprietor," is it not my foolishness? There must be one proprietor, but I do not know him. That is real sense
- Suppose we are in a group, this, our International Society. If everyone becomes ruler or acarya, then how it can be managed? No. There must be some head. That is the principle in our practical life
- Suppose with hard labor you create something for living. Everyone wants at old age to live very peacefully, comfortably; there must be some good bank balance, a very nice house. But what is that guarantee? That they do not understand
- Suppose you have taken too much milk and you become diseased, dysentery, could not digest, have taken too much sweetrice or rabri, so there is dysentery. That must be there. Too much eating will cause. So amayah, amayah means mucus or disease

- That is dharma, discipline, to abide by the state laws. There must be some discipline. Similarly, to make yourself advanced to spiritual life, you must have to observe the discipline. Without discipline, it is not possible
- The Buddhist philosophy depends on argument, but there can be no argument if one simply depends on "I am." There must be a "you," or another person also
- The cosmic manifestation consists of earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intelligence, and false ego. These eight material elements are separated material energies, and we can understand that behind these energies there must be an energetic source
- The Deities must be worshiped, and this is called pancaratriki-vidhi. There must also be bhagavata-vidhi, reading Srimad Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam

- The laws of nature means laws of God. Just like your president is the giver of your state law. Similarly, as soon as we say laws of nature, there must be giver of them
- The leaders of the peace movement must be all men of character, and to raise such men of character there must be the four regulative principles; namely, no illicit sex-life, no meat-eating, no gambling, and no intoxication
- The living entity is not burned by the fire. It is not dried up, it is not moistened. This is stated. So why there will be no life in the sun globe? There must be. Because nainam dahati pavakah, fire cannot burn the living being
- The Lord is by nature the reservoir of all pleasures, and because He wants to enjoy pleasure, there must be energies to give Him pleasure or supply Him the impetus for pleasure. This is the perfect philosophical understanding of the Absolute Truth
- The material scientist explains that all different planets are floating because of the law of gravity or some other law; but the actual lawmaker is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. When we speak of law, we must understand that there must be a lawmaker
- The more people will be materialistic, the world will be burdened. Therefore there must be war, pestilence, famine, to clear these rascals, clear out. You'll find these things. In Europe, every ten years, twenty years, there is a fight, war
- The people should take care of mother cows also. But they are not taking care of mother. Therefore they are sinful. They must suffer. They must have . . . there must be war, pestilence, famine
- The perfect civilization, Krsna has giving idea, there must be first-class, second-class, third-class, fourth-class. And less than fourth-class, fifth-class. So, first-class man is described, samo damah tapah saucam ksantir arjavam
- The senses must have engagement. And how? That is in the service of the Lord. That is real activity. So bhakti is not that it is simply negation. There must be positive action. That is bhakti
- The sixty-four items are as follows: (1) There must be a big bell hanging in front of the temple room so that whoever comes into the room can ring the bell. This item is called prabodhana, or offering oneself submissively to the Lord
- The so-called missionary, they're simply bogus propaganda, without any logic. Without any logic. Just like some missionary people are propagating a man to become God. How a man can become God? There must be evidences how God incarnates
- The sound of Brahman, or Veda, was first impregnated into the heart of Brahma, the original learned man (adi-kavaye). How did he become learned? Whenever there is learning, there must be a speaker and the process of hearing
- The source of birth is called yoni. So yoni is there, the earth. But who begotten this? There must be father. Because we, our experience, without father and mother there is no generation
- The speaking is very pleasing when there are many persons here. I cannot speak alone here. That is not ananda. I can speak here at night, dead of night, nobody here. That is not ananda. Ananda means there must be others
- The spirit soul and the Supreme Lord is by nature joyful. Whenever there is question of joyfulness there must be varieties. So there is no variety. So without variety he cannot remain there for very long
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead orders that there must be four division in human society, a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th class, like that, and the 1st must be ideal
- The true religion of love is perfectly inculcated in the Bhagvat Geeta. When we speak of love there must be the object of love and the lover too
- The ways of material nature is that you cannot remain in comfort. That is not possible, by laws of nature. Tri-tapa-yatana, three kinds of miseries, adhyatmika, adhibhautika, adhidaivika, they must be there always
- The whole cosmic manifestation is working in order. That is explained as heat and light. Therefore there is fire or God. There must be. So it is not the question of believe or not believe. Fact is fact
- The whole world is revolving under the bodily conception; therefore there must be devotees all over the world to deliver people from the false bodily conception and fully engage them in Krsna consciousness
- The work must be done very nicely. There must be good arrangement for water supply and for plowing and keeping the cows in order. Then you get sufficient milk, sufficient food grains and produce your own cloth
- Theoretical knowledge will not help us. There must be practical behavior. They are rising early in the morning, attending mangala-arati, then having class, Bhagavad-gita, Srimad-Bhagavatam, chanting
- There are two sankhyas - theistic and atheistic. The Sanskrit in the Visnu Purana is even easier than in Raghu-vamsa. Yes, Bhagavad-gita As It Is should be studied from the beginning. There must be study from my books also
- There is a proverb like that. Some foolish persons were speaking that "This year I have seen many boys were married." What does it mean? Many boys are married means there must be many girls also"
- There is no contradiction. If there is son, there must be a father also. Without father, there cannot be son. So if you believe in the son, then you must believe in the father also. The father is Krsna
- There is no dearth of all these things in this movement. We are not sentimental at all. Of course, there must be sentiment. Without sentiment, nobody can come to the stage of ecstasy
- There is no question of high percentage. I said that even a small percentage, there must be some ideal men. At least people will see that "Here is the ideal man." Just like we are having
- There is such proposition that he should exist, he should not exist. Then there must be some authority to give such order. That is answered in Bhagavad-gita. Krsna says, - Under My superintendence, nature is working
- There is work, there must be some result. That is our experience. We cannot do anything which has no result. But if that result is offered to God, Krsna, then it is without result. So that work is not stopped
- There may be only a few number of brahmanas, but there must be ideal brahmanas so that people may learn that - Here is the first-class brahmana. Here is the first-class man. Let us take instruction from him
- There may be wonderful machine, computer, but there must be one actor, one manipulator. So the, this nature is an instrument only. The actually worker is Krsna
- There must always be activity. Not that we have a nice house for comfortable living. We simply want to bring people back home, Back to Godhead. That is the purpose of our temples, of our books, and our festivals, and preachings
- There must be a distinction between cause and effect. For example, a pot is distinct from the earth, and therefore we can ascertain that the earth is the cause and the pot is the effect. Without such distinctions, there is no meaning to cause and effect
- There must be a good government to see that the citizens are actually executing their religious rituals, and thieves and rogues must be curbed. When this is done the people can advance peacefully in spiritual consciousness and make their lives successful
- There must be a standard of dealing, and there must be a result out of that. This is called Bhagavata-dharma. You must know what is your position, you must know what is God, and you must know what is your relationship with God
- There must be a standard of peace which will be applicable to everyone. That is real peace. We are talking of that peace
- There must be adherence to both sruti and smrti - to scriptural authority. You cannot modify
- There must be an institution how to become peaceful, how to become truthful, how to become honest, how to become religious, how to become believer in God. Why not this institution
- There must be an institution to educate a brahmana, to educate ksatriya. That is required. Catur-varnyam maya srstam. If you don't do it, if you simply produce sudras, bolt-nut manufacturers, technicians, then how you can be happy
- There must be association with women. By God's creation, there is man, woman. They're meant for being united
- There must be bhakti. And what kind of bhakti? Not sentiment, but sruta-grhitaya, taking, accepting bhakti, the devotional path, after being completely aware of the spiritual science
- There must be brahmanas who are independent. Canakya Pandita, whose name is still, still celebrated, he was prime minister of Maharaja Candragupta, but he was not accepting a single paisa as salary
- There must be classification. Not that everyone is the same, everyone on the same level. Everyone on the same level means sudra, no knowledge. No knowledge, no philosophy, no culture, simply eat, sleep and . . . animals' life
- There must be compulsory marriage of young boys and girls attaining twenty-four years of age and sixteen years of age respectively
- There must be distinction, some higher class, some middle class, some lower class. Even in European countries, there are, in America there are, so are in India. So it is not very astonishing
- There must be engagement, proper engagement. If the engagement is not Krsna consciousness, then this so-called sannyasa will be failure
- There must be enjoyment in connection with the Supreme Person (purusah sa parah), whom we can see face to face
- There must be evidences how God incarnates. Not that somebody by worshiping a demigod becomes God. So many false propaganda is going on. That is not logical at all
- There must be feasting also, if not weekly then at least occasionally. All our life members and patrons should be invited
- There must be good population. So to have good population, the women should be very chaste
- There must be grazing ground for cows. Then there is no problem
- There must be ideal brahmin, ideal ksatriya, ideal vaisya, as Krsna says. That is Krsna consciousness movement. It is all-inclusive
- There must be ideal, first-class men to act as advisors, second-class men to act as administrators, third-class men to produce food and protect cows, and fourth-class men who obey the three higher classes of society
- There must be intelligent class of men, brahmin. They are called intelligent class of men. Catur-varnyam maya srstam (BG 4.13). The society must be divided into four classes for cooperation
- There must be intelligent class of men, there must be martial spirit, administrative class of men, there must be business minded men. There must be sudras, they do not know anything, they want to serve only, master
- There must be ksatriyas to rule the country very nicely according to the injunctions of the sastras, and there must be vaisyas who can protect the cows
- There must be minister in charge of law and order. Where you get this idea? The idea is there from the original government. And there is the director or the minister in charge of law and order. The Yamaraja is minister in charge
- There must be now checking that all these rascals may not join and spoil the movement. You should not admit. They can come and go. So how it will be done unless you GBC members become very strong and with good brain?
- There must be one leader. The supreme leader is Krsna. Leader of the leader
- There must be one srestha, ideal man, and then everyone will follow. And there is no srestha. That is the difficulty
- There must be one supreme source. That is God. Simple to understand. Is it very difficult to understand? The supreme cause, He is God
- There must be positive engagement. Without positive engagement, the highest perfectional stage cannot be attained
- There must be question. If one is actually seeking after spiritual realization, there must be intelligent question
- There must be some body; it is quite reasonable. But these rascals have no brain to understand that there is life after death. Big, big professors in European countries, they do not believe transmigration of the soul
- There must be some duty. What then is the duty for a sannyasi, for one who has renounced family life and no longer has material obligations
- There must be some proprietor. So who is that proprietor? Krsna says, "I am the proprietor." You have to know it, whether Krsna is not proprietor. He says, "I am proprietor," but if you are doubtful, prove that He is not proprietor. That you cannot do
- There must be some relation. Without relationship one cannot exist because he is part and parcel. Just like persons in the prison house. They are not out of government. There is relationship with the government, but that is indirect
- There must be some standard to distinguish between duskrti - an evil doer and sukrti - a virtuous man
- There must be something origin. That is consciousness. Not that asatyam: "There is no origin." What is the nonsense? This is not human consciousness
- There must be speaker system, and there must be good publicity beforehand so that many may know of us and come. This is very important
- There must be such management and or such arrangement that we must have always good association for advancement. That is required
- There must be the administrative and protective class, the farming and mercantile class, and the laboring class. This is all given in the Bhagavad-gita: brahmana, ksatriya, vaisya, sudra
- There must be the sanction of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Nanda Maharaja therefore advocated that in order to get good results for agricultural activities, they must satisfy Indra, the superintending deity of the rain supply
- There must be this training college, institution, and proper training according to the sastra. Then there is possibility of changing the whole situation
- There must be two sides, service and surrender, and in the middle there must be question. Otherwise there is no question and answer. Two things must be there: service and surrender
- There must be university where brain is properly utilized. Here is a child or here is a boy. He has good intelligence. Train him as brahmana. Less than that, train him as ksatriya, train him as vaisya
- There must be veda-pramana, sabda-pramana: evidence from the Vedas and from the explanatory Vedic literature. Otherwise, there is no evidence. Your statement is not valid: you cannot change the original sruti-smrti
- These foolish, these atheistic persons, mudhas, they cannot see: there must be a spiritual touch. In spite of all electronic arrangement, unless there is a spiritual . . . the pilot is spiritual being. Unless he touches his finger, it is not moving
- They (Mayavadi philosophers) reason that in the material world we experience that everything is created. If we trace the history of anything, we find a creator. Therefore there must be a creator of this huge cosmic manifestation
- They (third-class men) want to be diseased. They want to be criminals. So there must be some department for them. Just like Monte Carlo. So this is a facility for the living entities, for the slight independence which has been given by God to them
- They are doing also the same thing, whole day and night, working hard simply for sense gratification. So therefore in the human society there must be a system of division. That is called varnasrama-dharma. That is Vedic civilization
- They knew very well that even though their father committed a mistake (Brahma was sexually inclined to his own daughter), there must have been some great purpose behind the show, otherwise such a great personality could not have committed such a mistake
- This "luck," as soon as you say, "luck" there must be somebody who is giving you the luck, good luck or bad luck
- This distribution of books, combined with preaching, is the best process for spreading Krishna Consciousness, so always there must be books
- This is animal consciousness, "There is no origin." There must be origin. My origin is my father, cause, I am born by my father. Common sense. Then his father, then his father, his father, go on, go on, although you do not know, but this is a fact
- This is Mayavada philosophy. No varieties. There must be variety. That is Vaisnava philosophy. And as soon as you make it varietyless, all equal, that is Mayavada
- This system (of keeping bed in Deity room) should immediately be introduced in all our centers. It does not matter whether the bed is big or small; it should be of a size the Deity room can conveniently accommodate, but there must be at least a small bed
- To extinguish a roaring forest fire there must be volumes of water; in other words, there must be an arrangement that is beyond human endeavor
- To manage things in the material world we have to... Guna, karma. Karma there must be. Therefore the karma should be done, executed, according to quality
- To organize the society, Krsna recommends, catur-varnyam maya srstam guna-karma-vibhagasah (BG 4.13). There must be ideal brahmana. There must be ideal ksatriya, ideal vaisya. And balance, all sudras
- Two things must be there—jnana and vairagya. I have already explained that actually our aim of life, human life, is to acquire knowledge and vairagya. Simply talking of knowledge is useless. There must be vairagya also

- We are all anandamaya, joyful. Therefore there must be varieties. Without varieties, there is no joy. Simply hackneyed, one thing, "Brahman, Brahman, Brahman," nobody likes it
- We are not cheap, we want to speak something, but there must be good accommodations provided. There must be speaker system, and there must be good publicity beforehand so that many may know of us and come. This is very important
- We are not only satisfied that "I am spirit," aham brahmasmi. No. There must be duties of the Brahman. The Brahman must be engaged. Otherwise... Because we want some work, because we are active... We are not just like stones
- We are taking the Krsna's instructions as standard. And that is the fact. There must be something standard. In the society, in such condition that "I believe," "You believe," "He believes," what is the standard?
- We are, like you, the good public leaders of your nation, interested in material improvement, but also there must be spiritual improvement as well
- We can attract people by some gorgeous show, but inside there must be strict purity and seriousness, otherwise, we shall be attracted by the gorgeous show only
- We can understand that liberation is not the final word in perfection. There must be activities in liberation. Sanatana clearly says, "You (Lord Caitanya) have saved me from the material existence. Now, after liberation, what is my duty?"
- We cannot neglect any department. There must be all the departments, and they must be cooperative and healthy. So this movement is meant for that purpose
- We don't say that you go on with all nonsense, at the same time you become spiritually advanced. We don't talk all this nonsense. There must be practical exhibition that one is advanced in spiritual consciousness
- We don't simply say, "No illicit sex," "No intoxication," and so on. Mere negativity has no meaning; there must be something positive, because everyone wants engagement. That is because we are living entities, not dead stones
- We have got, everywhere we have got immediate boss. So we must work. That is systematic. If everyone manufactures, invents his own way of life, then there must be chaos
- We have no brain, we are all not very intelligent. But we can understand if there is the active principle soul within this body, there must be a Supersoul within this huge structure of body
- We must be very very careful as to not commit offenses in worshiping the Deities, so therefore there must be sufficient facilities and Brahmins to worship the Deity
- We simply don't say that: "No illicit sex, no intoxication, no, no..." Simply negative is no meaning. There must be something positive. Because everyone wants engagement. That is because we are living entities. We are not dead stone
- What is the purpose of creation? There must be some plan. When you manufacture something, do something, there must be plan. So what is the plan behind this cosmic manifestation
- When one becomes unnecessarily powerful, disturbs the world situation, he's a burden. He's a burden. That kind of burden is vanquished by Krsna's desire, will. There must be some catastrophe like war, pestilence, famine, and everything will be finished
- When one does not agree to the religious principle or to the moral principle or any instruction, he is adamant, then there must be fight
- When the kirtana was over, Caitanya Mahaprabhu, who could understand the incident (that Srivasa Thakura's son died), declared - There must have been some calamity in this house
- When the world is overburdened, there must be war, pestilence, famine, epidemics, and so on. This is nature's law
- When there is increase of the number of sinful persons, there must be pollution in the system of religious life. This is the way
- When there is question of hearing, there must be speaking or chanting. So we are speaking and chanting about Krsna. That is bhakti. Simply always be engaged in hearing and chanting about Krsna. Sravanam kirtanam visnoh
- When ultimately I change this body, I shall have to accept another. This simple formula is stated in Bhagavad-gita. Everyone can reflect on it, and there must be scientific research done in this area
- When we speak of seeing, there must be form. By our sense perception, the beginning experience is the sky. Sky is the beginning of form. And from the sky, other forms emanate. The objects of knowledge and sense perception begin, therefore, from the sky
- Whenever there is bhakti, there must be three things present - the devotee, the devotion and the Lord. Without these three - bhakta, bhakti and Bhagavan - there is no meaning to the word bhakti
- Where did this chunk come from? The fact is that there must be a brain, a leader, behind anything organized. We have information of this leader from the Vedas: nityo nityanam cetanas cetananam - Katha Upanisad 2.2.13
- Where there are women and meat, there must be liquor and sex indulgence. When these are prominent in society, by God's grace one can expect a change in the social order by the Lord Himself or by His bona fide representative
- Why government spends so much money for police department? Just to keep law and order. There must be
- Why has this man brought this langera mango? Why is he trying to distribute it freely? There must be some motive behind it
- Why he's born one rich and poor? There must be some consideration. So that they do not find. They have no eyes to see. They simply see the superfluous combination, permutation
- Why, then, do the nondevotees and atheists not admit this (there must be someone who has created this cosmic manifestation and has supplied its ingredients)? The reason is that they are polluted by the reactions of their fruitive activities

- You are not ordinary common men. There must have been some pious activities in your past lives. Therefore you have taken to this Krsna consciousness seriously
- You cannot deny the existence of God simply by a false argument. This is real argument. The mother is there, material nature, and we are children there. There must be father
- You cannot expect cent percent will be sinless. But there must be an ideal section - "Oh, here is..." That is wanted. That is wanted. Not that you can expect cent percent ideal
