- A dog cannot live independently. He must have a master. Then he is happy. Is it not? Otherwise it is street dog

- If one asks a tree, "Are you feeling happy?" the tree, if it could, might say - Yes, I am happy, standing here all year. I'm enjoying the wind and snowfall very much, etc
- If one is not factually detached from material activities but still proclaims himself advanced in devotional service, he is cheating. No one will be happy to see such behavior
- If one is unhappy to see the distress of other living beings and happy to see their happiness, his religious principles are appreciated as imperishable by exalted persons who are considered pious and benevolent
- If people become irreligious, then the whole world becomes a hell. Just like at the present moment, anywhere you go, it is hellish condition. Nobody is peaceful, nobody is happy, although materially very much advanced

- Lord Sri Krsna certainly wanted to establish the kingdom of the Pandavas for the good of all in the world. When there is a pious king ruling over the world, the people are happy. When the ruler is impious, the people are unhappy
- Lord Sri Krsna established the principles of grhastha life by marrying many wives and begetting many children just to show people in general how to be happy by living according to Vedic principles
- Lord Sri Krsna wanted the Pandavas to be present before Bhismadeva in the most aristocratic order so that he might be pleased to see them happy at the time of his death
- Love is there, object of love is there, but it is misplaced. Therefore, we are not getting happiness. When it will be properly placed, love and the object of love, then we'll be happy

- Ma-ya - "it is not." You are thinking that in this way (by living in the city) you will be happy, but it is not. This is called maya. One English poet also said, Cowper, that city is made by man but village is made by God
- Maharaja Antardhana had another wife, named Nabhasvati, and by her he was happy to beget another son, named Havirdhana. Since Maharaja Antardhana was very liberal, he did not kill Indra while the demigod was stealing his father's horse at the sacrifice
- Maharaja Yudhisthira has compared the inhabitants of Dvaraka to the Maha-paurusikas of Vaikunthaloka because they are so happy with the Lord

- Maharaja Yudhisthira, as a matter of duty, maintained Dhrtarastra in royal honor, and Dhrtarastra was happily passing away his numbered days in the illusion of being a king or the royal uncle of King Yudhisthira
- Man and woman both seek sexual enjoyment, and when they are united by the ritualistic ceremony of marriage, they are happy for some time, but finally there is dissension, and thus there are so many cases of separation and divorce
- Man should simply take the milk and let the cows live, and thus following nature's law, man will be happy. Tena tyaktena bhunjitha: (ISO 1) one should take whatever God (Krsna) allots to him and thus live comfortably
- Material advancement cannot make you happy. It may be for a few days, if somebody is very poor, and if he all of a sudden gets millions of dollars, he may feel happy, "Now I have got so much money." But that happiness is not ultimate. That is temporary
- Material enjoyment includes activities such as great sacrifices for auspicious activity, charity, austerity, elevation to the higher planetary system, and even living happily within the material world

- My dear King Prthu, if you continue to protect the citizens according to the instructions of the learned brahmana authorities, as they are received by the disciplic succession, then every one of your citizens will be happy and will love you
- My dear Prajapati Daksa, you have performed extreme austerities for the welfare and growth of the world. My desire also is that everyone within this world be happy
- My only request is that - you are all learned boys and girls - try to understand this philosophy and science, and you will be happy. That is my request
- My request to you all boys, that you try to understand and . . . you understand or not understand, it is a standard method. Try to induce people to chant Hare Krsna. They will be happy
- My uncle, you must have visited Dvaraka. In that holy place are our friends & well-wishers, the descendants of Yadu, who are always rapt in the service of Krsna. You might have seen them or heard about them. Are they all living happily in their abodes?

- Nanda Maharaja confirmed that by pious activities one can become a sadhu so that one will be happy at home and one's children will be protected
- Nanda Maharaja wanted to see his newborn child happy. That was his purpose. Therefore he wanted to satisfy Lord Visnu, and to satisfy Lord Visnu it was necessary to satisfy His devotees, such as the learned brahmanas, magadhas and sutas
- Nanda Maharaja, however, did not want to neglect anything. To keep intact a happy society advanced in spiritual knowledge, he took full advantage of Gargamuni's presence to do what was necessary
- Nitya means eternally; ananda means happy. So Nityananda has no unhappiness. But He was passing on the street, there was a crowd, and Nityananda Prabhu inquired, - Why there is so much crowd?
- No one can be truly happy within the material world. Srila Narada Muni, in order to enlighten the miserable inhabitants, wanders everywhere
- No one is happy here within the universe, and what is felt as happiness is maya's illusion. The illusory energy of the Lord is so strong that even the hog who lives on filthy stool feels happy
- Nobody can say that "I am completely happy and peaceful." No, that is not possible. The material world is made in such a way that you cannot feel happy. That is not possible
- Nobody has ever gained anything by becoming a tool in the hands of Maya, but everyone has become eternally happy by serving Krishna
- Not only a king but also the leaders of a modern democratic or impersonal government must be qualified with all these godly characteristics. Then the citizens of the state can be happy
- Not satisfying Lord Visnu but instead attempting to become happy through material adjustments (bahir-artha-maninau) is the wrong way for happiness

- O lord, you have now been removed by cruel providence to a state beyond our sight. You had previously sustained the livelihood of the inhabitants of Usinara, and thus they were happy, but your condition now is the cause of their unhappiness

- One animal is being slaughtered; the other animal is seeing. Because he has no knowledge, the next turn is he . . . being slaughtered, but he is chewing some grass. He is thinking that, I am happy. Next moment it will be slaughtered, but he does not know
- One can be happy during the span of life and ultimately return to Godhead
- One can easily become happy and obtain the material benefits of a good husband, wealth, food grain and a number of nice children by worshiping Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu

- One who acts in the mode of goodness is religious and happy, one who acts in passion achieves mixed misery and happiness, and one who acts under the influence of ignorance is always unhappy and lives like an animal
- One who can do this (controlling the senses) is understood to be self-realized and is thus happy in the state of self-realization. It is the duty of the transcendentalist to try strenuously to control desire and anger. BG 1972 purports
- One who has married, he's thinking, "Why did I marry? I would have remained free." He's lamenting. And who is not married, - Oh, I did not accept a wife. I would have been happy
- One who is in full knowledge should divide his accumulated wealth in five parts - for religion, for reputation, for opulence, for sense gratification and for the maintenance of his family members. Such a person is happy in this world and in the next
- Only scarcity is Krsna consciousness. Only scarcity. Otherwise there is no scarcity. Everything is full. And if you take the instruction of Krsna you will be happy immediately. You can make the whole world happy
- Our activities may remain the same; we simply have to understand that we are acting for Krsna and not for our personal satisfaction. In this way we can come to our original consciousness and be happy
- Our cows are happy, therefore they give plenty of milk
- Our first engagement is Krsna consciousness. So in this happy ceremony, I have got my heartfelt blessings upon you. You be happy

- People are happy to accept the principle of chanting the Hare Krsna mantra, and the result is most satisfactory

- This material calculation that, "This is good, this is bad," and "This is happy and this is miserable," in the transcendental position they think that they are all equal
