- I cannot control my senses if I am on the material plane. It is impossible. But I can control my senses, this is possible. It is not impossible fact

- Real purpose of jada-yoga, as mentioned here in this verse, is prasanta-karanah, or subduing the senses. The whole process of yoga, under whatever heading it may be, is to control the unbridled material senses & thus prepare oneself for self-realization
- Real self-realization by means of controlling the senses is explained herein (in SB 3.31.19). One should try to see the Supreme Personality of Godhead and one's own self also

- Srila Prabodhananda Sarasvati stated, durdantendriya-kala-sarpa-patali protkhata-damstra-yate (Caitanya-candramrta 5). The practice of yoga is undoubtedly good because it controls the senses, which are like venomous serpents
