A
- A class of men must be intelligent; a class of men must be strong to give protection; and a class of men must be to produce food; and a class of men, general worker. It is not caste system. Bhagavad-gita never says caste system

- As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, the Lord is Himself the father of the Vedanta knowledge, and it is He only who knows the factual purport of the Vedanta philosophy. So there is no greater truth than the principles of religion mentioned in the Vedas
- As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, the Lord says that His appearance, birth, and activities are all transcendental and that one who factually understands them is immediately eligible to be transferred to the spiritual world
- As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, the modes of nature act under His direction only and as such no natural functions are blind or automatic. The power behind the activities is the supervision of the Lord and thus He is never inactive as is wrongly conceived
- As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, the process of receiving knowledge from the spiritual master entails submission, inquiry and service
- As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, the result of work, either pious or impious, is sure to bind a man unless the work is discharged as yajna on behalf of the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, there are three divisions of the material spheres, namely the urdhva-loka (topmost planets), madhya-loka (midway planets) and adho-loka (downward planets)
- As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, to regulate those who are very much addicted to different kinds of sense gratification, the worship of demigods is sometimes recommended

- As stated in the Eighteenth Chapter of Bhagavad-gita, sva-karmana tam abhyarcya: one has to worship the Supreme Personality of Godhead by one's occupational duties. This necessitates accepting the principle of four varnas and four asramas
- As stated in the Fifteenth Chapter (of Bhagavad-gita), all the rules and regulations of the Vedas are meant for knowing Krsna. BG 1972 purports
- As stated personally by the Supreme Personality of Godhead in the Bhagavad-gita, He is realized proportionately by transcendentalists as Brahman, Paramatma and the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- As the Lord (Krsna) says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.7): Whenever and wherever there is a decline in religious practice, O descendant of Bharata, and a predominant rise of irreligion - at that time I appear Myself
- As the Lord advises in the Bhagavad-gita, "Whatever you do, do it for Me; whatever you eat, first offer it to Me; whatever charity you want to give, first give it to Me; and whatever austerities and penances you want to perform, perform them for Me"
- As the Lord says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 15.7): "The living entities in this conditioned world are My (Krsna's) eternal, fragmental parts. Due to conditioned life, they are struggling very hard with the six senses, which include the mind"
- As the Lord says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 18.54): He (One who is transcendentally situated) never laments nor desires to have anything; he is equally disposed to every living entity. In that state he attains pure devotional service unto Me
- As the Lord says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 18.54): One who is thus transcendentally situated at once realizes the Supreme Brahman and becomes fully joyful
- As the Lord says in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.26), a leaf, a flower, a fruit or some water (patram puspam phalam toyam), when offered with devotion, very much pleases Him. He universally accepts the services of His devotees
- As the Lord states in Bhagavad-gita, the stringent laws of nature are insurmountable; similarly, if a curse is uttered by a brahmana, that curse is also insurmountable
- As there are different ambitions, similarly, for your next life also you can maintain different ambitions. That is in your hands. That is stated in the Bhagavad-gita, yanti deva-vrata divan
- At the conclusion of the Bhagavad-gita, it is said: - Where there is Krsna, and where there is Arjuna, the greatest of bowmen, there, undoubtedly, is victory
- At the present moment we have got this human form of body. We can hear the instruction of God, and we can again elevate. That is possible. That is stated in the Bhagavad-gita - janma karma me divyam
- Attached persons do not know that even if one goes to the highest planet, Brahmaloka, destruction exists there also. In Bhagavad-gita the Lord says that one can even go to Brahmaloka, but still he will find the pangs of birth, death, disease and old age

- Because they are servants of the Supreme Lord, devotees receive knowledge directly from the Supreme Personality of Godhead as He speaks it in the Bhagavad-gita, or sometimes as He imparts it from within as the caittya-guru
- BG says, "O son of Prtha, those who are not deluded, the great souls, are under the protection of the divine nature. They are fully engaged in devotional service because they know Me as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, original and inexhaustible"
- Bhagavad-gita (5.18) says, panditah sama-darsinah: those who are learned see everyone's conditional life equally
- Bhagavad-gita (7.4-5) clearly states that earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intelligence and false ego are the eight elementary energies of the Supreme Lord and are of inferior quality, whereas the living entity is of superior quality
- Bhagavad-gita (BG 3.9) clearly says, yajnarthat karmano 'nyatra loko 'yam karma-bandhanah: everyone may be engaged in his occupational duties, but the result of these duties should be offered for sacrifice to satisfy the Supreme Lord
- Bhagavad-gita (BG 7.20) says, kamais tais tair hrta jnanah prapadyante 'nya-devatah: "Those whose minds are distorted by material desires surrender unto the demigods." Similarly, this verse (SB 6.16.38) condemns worship of the demigods
- Bhagavad-gita (BG 8.16) says, abrahma-bhuvanal lokah punar avartino 'rjuna: except for those who go to Visnuloka, everyone is subjected to the four principles of material life, namely birth, death, old age and disease
- Bhagavad-gita also says that the curses or benedictions of the material world are, after all, material creations
- Bhagavad-gita clearly says (striyo vaisyas tatha sudrah (BG 9.32)) that such a body (of a woman) is lowborn
- Bhagavad-gita clearly says that the strong material energy controls everyone and that getting out of her control is extremely difficult. That controlling energy belongs to the Supreme Personality of Godhead and works under His control
- Bhagavad-gita clearly states that one who does not accept the sastra-vidhi, or rules and regulations mentioned in the Vedic scriptures, and acts whimsically or puffed up with false pride never attains perfection in this life
- Bhagavad-gita declares the Supreme Lord is responsive in proportion to the devotional service rendered by the devotee. Akrura thought that Krsna was like the desire tree in the heavenly planets, which gives fruit according to the desire of the worshiper
- Bhagavad-gita does not accept such rascaldom, and it is clearly stated that such methods are meant for persons who have lost their intelligence. The same judgment is confirmed here -in SB 3.32.2
- Bhagavad-gita is considered smrti. And Bhagavad-gita also says, satatam kirtayanto mam yatantas ca drdha-vratah: (BG 9.14) Fully endeavoring with determination, the great souls are always chanting My (Krsna's) glories
- Bhagavad-gita is eternal because it teaches what is your relationship with God, what is your eternal duty to God, and what is the ultimate end of life. That is stated in the Bhagavad-gita
- Bhagavad-gita it is said that man's attempt to reach higher planets is not new. Newspaper headlines read, "Man's First Steps on the Moon," but the reporters do not know that millions and millions of men went there and came back
- Bhagavad-gita never says that "You don't require to eat. You simply breathe air and practice yoga." No. But we must eat neither more, nor less. That is recommended. Yuktahara-viharasya. We should not eat more, nor less
- Bhagavad-gita says that - You may think of yourself as very happy within this material condition. That is called maya. Actually, it is not happiness
- Bhagavad-gita says that a little advancement in bhakti-rasa can save the devotee from the greatest danger - that of missing the opportunity for human life
- Bhagavad-gita says that even when Lord Krsna was seen by everyone while He was present on the surface of the earth, the impersonalists and the so-called yogis could not see Him because they were devoid of devotional eyesight
- Bhagavad-gita says that if you take the remnants of foodstuff after offering sacrifice, you become freed from all contamination. Otherwise, one who cooks to eat personally without offering to Krsna is simply eating sinful reactions. This is our position
- Bhagavad-gita says that in any activity performed under the spell of the mode of passion, there is definitely great misery. There may be a little so-called mental happiness - "I have this house or this money" - but this is not actual happiness. BG 1972 p
- Bhagavad-gita says that Krsna first instructed Bhagavad-gita to the sun-god (imam vivasvate yogam proktavan aham avyayam (BG 4.1)). Therefore the sun is not vacant. It is inhabited by living entities, and the predominating deity is Vairaja, or Vivasvan
- Bhagavad-gita says that one who worships a particular demigod can reach the demigod's planet, but one who worships the Supreme Personality of Godhead can enter into Vaikuntha
- Bhagavad-gita says that sukham atyantikam yat (BG 6.21). If you want supreme happiness, then you have to search out beyond the sense happiness
- Bhagavad-gita says you are not this body. That is the beginning of education. And now education means be nationalist
- Bhagavad-Gita says, "Devotees of the Personality of Godhead transcend all the reactions of the three modes of material nature and are situated on the transcendental platform of Brahman realization"
- Bhagavad-Gita says, "In whatever way one surrenders unto Me, I reward him accordingly"
- Bhagavad-Gita says, "O son of Prtha, those who are not deluded, the great souls, are under the protection of the divine nature. They are fully engaged in devotional service because they know Me as the S P of Godhead, original and inexhaustible"
- Bhagavad-gita says, sa gunan samatitya etan: One has to transcend even the quality of goodness, the so-called goodness
- Bhagavad-gita says, tatha dehantara-praptih (BG 2.13). As we are changing this body from childhood, from babyhood to childhood, childhood to boyhood, boyhood to youthhood... This is practical
- Bhagavad-gita says: "One who is thinking of Me, Krsna, always, He is the greatest yogi." He's the greatest yogi. Yoginam api sarvesam
- Bhagavad-gita says: sarva-yonisu. "In all species of life, as many forms are there, so the spirit soul is there." This outward body is just like a dress
- Bhagavad-gita states in the last verse of the Sixth Chapter that the greatest yogi is he who constantly thinks of Krsna within himself, or he who is Krsna conscious
- Bhagavad-gita states that meditation on the impersonal or void features is very troublesome to the meditator
- Bhagavad-gita states that only under superior orders does anything take place. Matter itself has no power to produce independently
- Bhagavad-gita teaches, in the very beginning, that whether one is a man or a woman, one must know that he or she is not the body but a spiritual soul
- Bhagavad-gita was spoken directly by the Supreme Lord, and Arjuna accepted Krsna as guru, or spiritual master. Similarly, we should accept only Krsna as the supreme spiritual master
- Bhagavata says that religious principle is first-class. Which one? Sa vai pumsam paro dharmo yato bhaktir adhoksaje (SB 1.2.6). That religion which helps you to advance your devotional service and love of God. That's all
- Bhakti is so sublime that only through bhakti can one understand the constitutional position of the Lord. That is clearly stated in the BG (18.55): bhaktya mam abhijanati. One can understand the SG through devotional service, and by no other process
- Bhakti-yoga process, if you can execute one percent, oh, it becomes asset, and next life you are guaranteed, because you will be given the facility of executing bhakti-yoga further. That is stated in the Bhagavad-gita, in every sastra
- Bhakti-yoga. It is not at all difficult. You haven't got to strain your body as in other hatha-yoga practice you have to very undergo hardship, to sit in a particular posture, in a particular place. These things are stated in the Bhagavad-gita
- Bible begins, "God is the supreme authority," and Bhagavad-gita concludes, "You surrender." Where is the difference? Simply the description is according to the time, society, and place and people
- Bible is spoken under certain circumstances; Bhagavad-gita is spoken under certain circumstances. It is the difference of the circumstances. Otherwise, the principle is the same. In the Bible also it is said, "Love God," and Bhagavad-gita also says
- Both maintenance and annihilation go on perpetually, under the order of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. As stated in Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.8), paritranaya sadhunam vinasaya ca duskrtam
- Both of them (those in mode of goodness and those in ignorance) are subjected to the repetition of birth and death. In Bhagavad-gita it is stated that even one who is very pious returns to earth after his enjoyment in the higher planetary systems is over
- Brahma is known as pitamaha, the grandfather, and Krsna is known as the prapita-maha, the father of the grandfather. That is stated in the Eleventh Chapter of the Bhagavad-gita. BG 1972 purports
- Brahma said, "If one understands You through Your personal teachings, as stated in the BG, or through Your pure devotees, as stated in SB - if one realizes that You are the ultimate goal of understanding - he need no longer fear this material existence"
- Brahma said, "In the Bhagavad-gita also it is stated that You are the source of the Brahman effulgence. No one should conclude that Your body is like an ordinary material body. Your body is aksara, indestructible"
- Brahma said, "It is said in the Bhagavad-gita, anyone who can understand a little of the transcendental pastimes, appearance & disappearance of the Lord becomes immediately eligible to enter into the kingdom of God after quitting the material body"
- Brahma said, "There are many so-called meditators who do not know that You are the Supreme Soul. As stated in the BG, You are the Supreme Soul present in everyone’s heart. Therefore there is no necessity of one’s meditating on something beyond You"
- By accepting Krsna in this spirit (as said in BG 9.27), we can attain complete knowledge. If, however, we do not accept Krsna and interpret Bhagavad-gita in our own way, then everything will be spoiled
- By His (God's) spiritual energy He reveals Himself. It is stated in Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.6), sambhavamy atma-mayaya. Atma-mayaya means "internal potency

- Caitanya Mahaprabhu quoted from the Seventh Chapter of Bhagavad-gita in which it is stated that earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intelligence and ego all combine together to form the inferior energy of the Supreme Lord
- Certainly one has attachment for everything material, especially one's land, but land and other possessions are forcibly taken away at the time of death, as stated in Bhagavad-gita - mrtyuh sarva-haras caham (BG 10.34)
- Complete knowledge is possible, as it is said in the Bhagavad-gita, bahunam janmanam ante (BG 7.19) - after many births
- Consideration of the Paramatma and impersonal Brahman arose after the creation; before the creation, only the Supreme Personality of Godhead existed. As firmly declared in Bhagavad-gita (BG 18.55), the Lord can be understood only by bhakti-yoga
- Contemptuous sons are born of the condemned womb of their mother. In Bhagavad-gita (1.40) it is said, "When there is deliberate negligence of the regulative principles of religious life, the women as a class become polluted
- Cultivation of knowledge is also not easy for everyone. That is also stated in the Bhagavad-gita. - Out of many millions of persons, human being, one may be interested to know - What is the aim of life? Why I am suffering

- Dhrtarastra said: O Sanjaya, after my sons and the sons of Pandu assembled in the place of pilgrimage at Kuruksetra, desiring to fight, what did they do?
- Doing everything for God's sake should be the principles of life. The activities of the general public may not be stopped but may diverted in the manner stated in the Bhagavad-gita
- During one day of Lord Brahma, as stated in the Bhagavad-gita, there are many Satya-yugas. According to the Vedic calculation, at the present moment the twenty-eighth millennium is current
- Duryodhana said to Dronacarya: Here in this army (of the Kurus) are many heroic bowmen equal in fighting to Bhima and Arjuna: great fighters like Yuyudhana, Virata and Drupada
- Duryodhana said to Dronacarya: There are personalities like you, Bhisma, Karna, Krpa, Asvatthama, Vikarna and the son of Somadatta called Bhurisrava, who are always victorious in battle
E
- Eating is the basic principle for keeping one's health. Eating too much or too little causes disease. Therefore Bhagavad-gita says yuktahara vihara. Simply eat to keep fit. That is one important business of those in Krishna consciousness
- Even if you have got some desire within yourself, so the Bhagavad-gita says, in spite of having that desire, you can worship Krsna and ask so that in future your desires will be desireless
- Even such an impersonalist as Acarya Sankara has said in the beginning of his commentation on the Bhagavad-gita that Narayana, the Personality of Godhead, is beyond the material creation
- Even your life in the Brahmaloka, that is stated in the Bhagavad-gita, so many millions of years you can live there, but it is also temporary
- Every spirit soul is son of God, but materially we think somebody as father. But real father is God. That is stated in the Bhagavad-gita - BG 14.4
- Everyone drinks water, and as soon as you drink water when you are thirsty, and the taste of the water appeases your thirst, so if you simply remember that "In the Bhagavad-gita it is stated that this taste is Krsna,"
- Everyone has got different types of occupation. As it is stated in the Bhagavad-gita, brahma-karma, ksatriya-karma, vaisya-karma, sudra-karma
- Everyone is entangled in the illusory energy, but as stated in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 7.14), mam eva ye prapadyante mayam etam taranti te: (BG 7.14) as soon as one surrenders to Krsna, he is freed from maya
- Everyone is trying to be happy by his work. A man, ordinary worker, he is also trying to be happy by working, and a great capitalist, he is also trying to be happy by work. But Bhagavad-gita says that they are trying to be happy in what sense?
- Everyone is trying to make a solution of some temporary difficulties, politically, socially, economically. But real solution, as it is stated in the Bhagavad-gita, janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi-duhkha-dosanudarsanam - BG 13.9
- Everything has got a different type of calculation, measurement. But so far the soul is concerned, it is said here, aprameyasya, there is no source of measurement. There is no source. Therefore, the so-called materialist science, they say there is no soul
- Everything is clearly said in the BG. I speak, therefore, to my disciples that "You simply repeat like parrot BG and follow first your life. Don't try to become very big scholar, do interpretation. Remain foolish & believe in Krsna. Then life is perfect"

- Fearfulness is a sort of illusion for the living being when he is in slumber and forgetting his eternal relation with the Lord. Since the living being is never to die by his constitution, as stated in Bhagavad-gita then what is the cause of fearfulness?
- First, as stated in the Bhagavad-gita, there is no need to worship the demigods for any material advancement; all results derived from worshiping the demigods are simply temporary, & only those who are less intelligent are interested in temporary results
- Following Sri Krsna's orders, the goddess Durga creates, maintains and annihilates. Krsna also confirms this statement in BG (9.10). "This material nature is working under My direction, O son of Kunti, and it is producing all moving and unmoving beings."
- For them (the mixed devotees) the opportune moments (to quit this body) are stated in the Bhagavad-gita
- For want of sufficient piety, the onlookers are not attracted by such pastimes of God. In Bhagavad-gita it is said that only those who have completely surpassed the way of sinful reaction can engage themselves in the transcendental loving service of God
- For whatever we do, there must be a reaction by which we become entangled. That is stated in Bhagavad-gita - BG 3.9
- From Bhagavad-gita we get information that Vaivasvata Manu was the son of the sun-god and that his son, Maharaja Iksvaku, ruled this planet earth
- From the statements of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and the Bhagavad-gita, we are to conclude that living entities exist everywhere throughout the universes. They are distributed as trees, plants, aquatics, birds, human beings and so on
- From without He (Lord Krsna) gives instructions as stated in Bhagavad-gita, and from within He tries to convince him (living entity) that his activities in the material field are not conducive to real happiness. BG 1972 purports

- God is the supreme proprietor, the supreme enjoyer, and He is the supreme friend. That is the statement of the Bhagavad-gita
- Great rsis or demigods can hardly approach Brahmaloka, and as stated in Bhagavad-gita, Brahmaloka is not a permanent residence
- Great sages and scholars are interested in Vedic knowledge, but the essence of Vedic knowledge is stated in the Bhagavad-gita: vedais ca sarvair aham
- Guru will say that, "Yes, you're right. The soul was there." How it is right? "No, in sastra." "What is that sastra?" "In Bhagavad-gita it is said, dehino 'smin yatha dehe
H
- He (King Kulasekhara) fully understands the statement in the Bhagavad-gita that from the lowest planets up to Brahmaloka, the highest planet in the universe, there is no spiritual bliss, which the living beings hanker for
- He (Krsna) does not appear under the control of the material potency. The material potency is under His control. In the Bhagavad-gita it is stated that the material potency is working under His superintendence
- He (Krsna) helps from within as stated in Bhagavad-gita, and He sends the spiritual master, who helps from without. The spiritual master is the external manifestation of the caitya-guru, or the spiritual master sitting in everyone's heart
- He (Krsna) says in Bhagavad-gita that the foolish deride Him, considering Him a mortal being. He is not a mortal being, nor does He come before us with a body produced of material nature
- He (the living entity) has no opportunity to get out of the control of material nature because it has already conditioned him. In Bhagavad-gita it is also stated that it is very difficult to get out of the clutches of material nature
- He (the Lord) is dictating or giving intelligence to the individual soul from within. It is clearly stated in the Gita that the Lord gives intelligence to the individual soul & that both memory and forgetfulness are due to the influence of the Supersoul
- He simply studies the mechanical arrangement of the body, which is a machine (yantra) made by nature. The body is actually stated in Bhagavad-gita (18.61) to be a machine
- Here (BG 7.26) the question of personality and impersonality is clearly stated. BG 1972 purports
- Here (in BG 11.6) it is stated that humans have neither heard nor known of all these forms and manifestations. Now Krsna reveals these wonderful forms. BG 1972 purports
- Here (in BG 7.10) again it is explicitly stated that Krsna is the life of all that lives. Thus at every step we can see God
- Here (in BG 8.8) it is clearly stated that the supreme enjoyer is the Supreme Personality of Godhead in His different manifestations and plenary expansions as Narayana, Vasudeva, etc. BG 1972 purports
- Here (in BG 9.24) it is clearly stated that there are many types of yajna performances recommended in the Vedic literatures, but actually all of them are meant for satisfying the Supreme Lord. BG 1972 purports
- Here (in BG 9.4) it is said that although He (God) is all-pervading, everywhere present, He is yet not conceivable by the material senses. But actually, although we cannot see Him, everything is resting in Him. BG 1972 purports
- His (Arjuna's) intelligence could not be polluted at any time because he was a devotee and constant companion of the Lord, as is clear in the Fourth Chapter of the Bhagavad-gita
- His (Krsna's) acts, even when He acts in human society, are all transcendental, for they are all accentuated by the spiritual energy of the Lord, which is distinguished from His material energy. As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, such acts are called divyam
- How is it, then, that Europeans and Americans will not become brahmanas? In fact, one who comes to Krsna consciousness has already surpassed brahmanism. As stated in Bhagavad-gita - 14.26
- Human society is naturally grouped into four divisions, as stated in Bhagavad-gita - catur-varnyam maya srstam guna-karma-vibhagasah - BG 4.13
I
- I am glad to see that you are advancing in Krishna consciousness by this worship of the Deity. This is the practical application to what we find stated in the Bhagavad-gita
- I wish to point out that this chanting of the holy name of God (Hare Krsna) and hearing the truths of the Gita is as good as bodily association with Krsna. That is stated in the Gita. This process is called kirtana
- If He (God) were subject to the laws of the material world, how could He have created it? That the Lord is simultaneously identical with His creation and yet exists in His completeness apart from it is stated in Bhagavad-gita - 9.4-5
- If Krishna wants vegetable foodstuff, therefore we supply Him vegetable foodstuff, and if He wants non-vegetarian foodstuff, we can offer Him also, but He does not want it, as it is explicitly stated in the Bhagavad-gita
- If majority of the people are meat-eater, then meat is very good, full of vitamin. Therefore it is folly to be wise where ignorance is bliss. But we have to see what is the standard. Standard is given in the Bhagavad-gita
- If one wants to do something in order to satisfy his senses, Krsna gives all facility. This is stated in Bhagavad-gita. Sarvasya caham hrdi sannivistah: I am sitting in everyone's heart
- If the yogis are attracted by the by-products of yoga, then they cannot attain the stage of perfection, as is stated in this verse (BG 6.20-23). BG 1972 purports
- If we can see by our practical experience there are living entities in the water, so why not living entities in the fire? And in the Bhagavad-gita it is said that living entity, this spiritual spark, is not affected by material influence
- If we do not perform sacrifice, yajna, which means method of activities for pleasing the lord; it is stated in Bhagavad gita that any work not done for the Lord's satisfaction must entangle the doer in the complication of stringent laws of material nature
- If we see the universal affairs going on nicely, we must know that behind them is a good controller. And who is that controller? That controller is Krsna, as stated in BG (9.10). Therefore Kunti addresses Him as visvesa, the controller of the universe
- If you have got a greater distance, immediately, the speed of mind is so great and the soul is still finer. The soul's speed is still greater, thousand times greater. So as it is stated in the Bhagavad-gita - tyaktva deham punar janma naiti mam eti
- If you offer prayers, honor to the acarya, then Krsna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is pleased. To please Him you have to please His representative. "If you love me, love my dog." And in the Bhagavad-gita it is said acaryopasanam
- If you study Bhagavad-gita as it is said and if you accept it, then your life is successful. Otherwise, panthas tu koti-sata-vatsara-sampragamyo (Bs. 5.34), you'll never understand what is God or what is ultimate source, what is Absolute Truth
- If you want peace at all, then accept that peace means to understand God. That is stated in the Bhagavad-gita. Unless you are in touch with the Supreme Lord, Krsna, you cannot have peace
- If you want peace then, as it is stated in the Bhagavad-gita, you have to learn these three things
- If you want to know God and your relationship with God, then only through bhakti, no other. That is stated in the Bha . . . bhaktya mam abhijanati yavan yas casmi tattvatah (BG 18.55). Otherwise you will never be able to understand

- In Bhagavad-gita (7.11) it is said that sexual intercourse according to religious principles is a representation of Krsna consciousness
- In Bhagavad-gita (9.25) it is said, pitrn yanti pitr-vratah. Those who are interested in family welfare are called pitr-vratah
- In Bhagavad-gita (BG 1.21) it is said that Krsna became the chariot driver of Arjuna. Arjuna ordered Him - My dear Krsna, You have agreed to be my charioteer and to execute my orders. Place my chariot between the two armies of soldiers
- In Bhagavad-gita (BG 1.40) it is said, strisu dustasu varsneya jayate varna-sankarah: if the women are polluted, there will be varna-sankara population. In modern terms, the varna-sankara are the hippies, who do not follow any regulative injunctions
- In Bhagavad-gita (BG 10.10) the Lord says: "To those who are constantly devoted and who worship Me with love, I give the understanding by which they can come to Me." This is very practical

- In the Bhagavad-gita (7.23) it is said that only unintelligent, bewildered persons driven by a strong desire for sense gratification worship the demigods for the temporary relief of temporary problems
- In the Bhagavad-gita (8.17-18) it is stated that according to human calculations one day of Brahma is equal to one thousand ages of four millenniums (4,300,000 years) each, and the same period is calculated to be his night also

- In the Bhagavad-gita (BG 15.6) it is said, yad gatva na nivartante tad dhama paramam mama - The abode from which no one returns to this material world is the supreme abode of the Lord
- In the Bhagavad-gita (BG 18.44) there is a clear injunction that cows should be protected: krsi-goraksya-vanijyam vaisya-karma svabhava-jam - The duty of vaisyas is to produce agricultural products, trade and give protection to cows

- Isvara, jiva, prakrti. And then time - what is the time factor, past, present & future. & then there is karma, activity. These five things, primary principles of philosophical speculation or philosophical understanding, are very clearly stated in the BG
- It has already been stated in the 17th Chapter that one who has surrendered to Krsna is relieved from the activities of material nature. Therefore for one who is able to see things as they are, the influence of material nature gradually ceases. BG 1972 p

- It is clearly stated in the Bhagavad-gita that those who are worshipers of the demigods will ultimately reach only the planets of those demigods, while those who are devotees of the Lord Himself will be promoted to the Lord's abode, the kingdom of God
- It is clearly stated in the Bhagavad-gita: bhaktya mam abhijanati (BG 18.55). No other process. No speculative philosophy or meditation. It is not possible. So bhakti is the process, you are the knower, and Krsna is knowable. That's all
- It is confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita where Krsna states: It should be understood that all species of life, O son of Kunti, are made possible by birth in this material nature, and that I am the seed-giving father - BG 14.4

- It is stated (in Bhagavad-gita 7.24) that as long as a living entity is pure, he is in complete harmony with the desires of the Supreme Lord, but as soon as he becomes impure he is in disharmony with the desires of the Lord
- It is stated here (BG 13.23) that the Supersoul, who is always with the individual soul, is the representation of the Supreme Lord. He is not an ordinary living entity. BG 1972 purports
- It is stated in BG that those who are advocates of knowledge alone, without any religious ritualistic processes, advance in knowledge after many, many lifetimes of speculation & thus come to the conclusion that Vasudeva is the supreme cause of everything
- It is stated in Bhagavad-gita (BG 15.8): The living entity in the material world carries his different conceptions of life from one body to another as the air carries aromas

- It is stated in Bhagavad-gita that if we at all want to learn transcendental knowledge, we must approach one who has actually seen the Absolute Truth (tad-viddhi pranipatena) - BG 4.34
- It is stated in Bhagavad-gita that no one is barred from rendering service to the Lord
- It is stated in Bhagavad-gita that no one is the enjoyer but the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This material energy is created, therefore, for anyone who pretends to enjoy

- It is stated in Bhagavad-gita that the Supreme Personality of Godhead is ksetra jna, present within this body, but He is also simultaneously present in every other body
- It is stated in Bhagavad-gita that this material world is just like a tree whose roots are up and branches down. This means that the material world is the shadow of the spiritual world
- It is stated in Bhagavad-gita that whenever there are discrepancies in the discharge of the real purpose of this material existence, the Lord appears as an incarnation
- It is stated in Bhagavad-gita that without the knowledge of the devotee, the Lord arranges for His devotee to be immediately transferred to His transcendental abode just after leaving his body
- It is stated in Bhagavad-gita, budha bhava-samanvitah: (BG 10.8) one who has attained the stage of bhava can accept the lotus feet of Lord Krsna as worshipable. This is also advised here (in SB 3.32.22) by Lord Kapila to His mother Devahuti

- It is stated in the Bhagavad-gita (7.23) that the worshipers of the demigods can go to the planets of the demigods. The moon worshipers can go to the moon, the sun worshipers to the sun, etc
- It is stated in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 12.5) that persons stuck on the impersonal step undergo more sufferings than achievement of reality. Therefore knowledge imparted by Sukadeva Gosvami unto Maharaja Pariksit helped him attain the service of the Lord
- It is stated in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 2.13): As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from boyhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. The self-realized soul is not bewildered by such a change

- It is stated in the Bhagavad-gita that Lord Krsna descends in every millennium just to give protection to His devotees and to annihilate the nondevotees
- It is stated in the Bhagavad-gita that one has to become full of joyfulness; this is not exactly joyfulness, but a sense of freedom from all anxieties
- It is stated in the Bhagavad-gita that one must be freed of all material sinful reactions before one can engage in the transcendental loving service of the Lord. Simply by supplying sandalwood pulp to Krsna, Kubja was thus rewarded
- It is stated in the Bhagavad-gita that one who engages all his activities and senses in the devotional service of the Lord becomes completely peaceful because the Supersoul is satisfied with him
- It is stated in the Bhagavad-gita that the disciplic succession, or parampara, is the way of receiving transcendental knowledge

- Just like in the Bhagavad-gita, 15th Chapter, it is stated, "the shadow of the tree." The shadow of the tree has got the branches, fruit, leaves. Everything is there. But it is nonreality. The real reality is up in the spiritual world. And that is shadow
- Just try to think over: "What Bhagavad-gita says? How Swamiji has discussed this matter?" Apply your arguments. Apply your logic. Don't take it as a sentiment or as a blind faith

- Karma-kandiya, they are interested next life in the heavenly planet or higher standard of life. So that is also stated in the Bhagavad-gita. If you associate with the modes of goodness, then you are promoted to the higher planetary system
- Knowledge is always highly esteemed. And what is that knowledge? Perfect knowledge is achieved when one surrenders unto Krsna, as is said in the Seventh Chapter, 19th verse (of BG): bahunam janmanam ante jnanavan mam prapadyate. BG 1972 purports
- Krsna also has the perfection of laghima: He can become the lightest. It is stated in the Bhagavad-gita that it is because Krsna enters within this universe and within the atoms that all the planets are floating in the air
- Krsna appeared primarily to deliver Devaki, rather than kill Kamsa, but both were performed simultaneously. Therefore it is said here (in BG 4.8) that to deliver the devotee & vanquish the demons, God appears in different incarnations. BG 1972 purports
- Krsna Caitanya is the basis of the impersonal Brahman. It is also stated by Krsna in Bhagavad-gita that the impersonal Brahman rests on Him - brahmano hi pratisthaham - BG 14.27
- Krsna comes here as ordinary human being, but the purpose is to reestablish the principles of religion as it is stated in the Bhagavad-gita, paritranaya sadhunam vinasaya ca duskrtam - BG 4.8
- Krsna comes just to save the pious and the righteous and to vanquish the impious. These are stated in the Bhagavad-gita. Therefore natural conclusion is that, His potencies, His body and His activities - everything spiritual. There is nothing material
- Krsna has the propensity for sense gratification. He is the original sense gratifier. It is stated in Bhagavad-gita that Krsna is the supreme enjoyer. Our enjoying spirit exists because it exists originally in Krsna
- Krsna is the original spiritual master of the science of Bhagavad-gita, and Arjuna is the first disciple for understanding the Gita. How Arjuna understands the Bhagavad-gita is stated in the Gita itself. BG 1972 purports
- Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 15.15): I am seated in everyone's heart, and from Me come remembrance, knowledge and forgetfulness. By all the Vedas, I am to be known; indeed, I am the compiler of Vedanta, and I am the knower of the Vedas
- Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 18.65): "Always think of Me and become My devotee. Worship Me and offer your homage unto Me. Thus you will come to Me without fail. I promise you this because you are My very dear friend."
- Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.1), imam vivasvate yogam proktavan aham avyayam: "I spoke this science of God - Bhagavad-gita - to the sun-god at least forty million years ago
- Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita that everyone should always think of Him, everyone should become His devotee, offer Him obeisances and worship Him, and ultimately everyone should surrender unto Him
- Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita: Fools deride Me (Krsna) when I descend in the human form. They do not know My transcendental nature and My supreme dominion over all that be - BG 9.11
- Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 7.25): I am never manifest to the foolish and unintelligent. For them I am covered by My eternal creative potency (yogamaya); and so the deluded world knows Me not, who am unborn and infallible
- Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.27): Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer or give away, and whatever austerities you perform - do that, O son of Kunti, as an offering to Me - Krsna
- Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.32): O son of Prtha, those who take shelter in Me (Krsna), though they be of lower birth - women, vaisyas (merchants) and sudras (workers) - can attain the supreme destination
- Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita that I am sex life performed according to religious principles. Sex life for any other purpose means illicit sex
- Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita that you have to offer something out of your love. Love means you must give something. You are taking something from Krsna. Why not give something? Is it love, simply going on taking, taking, taking
- Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita, tesam satata-yuktanam yoga-ksemam vahamy aham: "A devotee who is engaged always in My service, I look after, how his necessities of life will be fulfilled"
- Krsna states in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.4), maya tatam idam sarvam jagad avyakta-murtina: "By Me, in My unmanifested form, this entire universe is pervaded"
- Krsna, Syamasundara, is the original Visnu. That is stated in Bhagavad-gita. Krsna includes Brahma, Visnu, Siva and everyone else

- Living body means there is movement. There is work. He cannot sit idly. In the Bhagavad-gita it is said, "Not even for a moment one can be idle." That is the symptom of living being
- Lord Krsna clearly says in the Bhagavad-gita that no one in human society is dearer to Him than a devotee who constantly engages in His service by finding ways to preach the message of Godhead for the real benefit of the world
- Lord Krsna confirms this statement (of CC Madhya 19.140) in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 15.7): mamaivamso jiva-loke jiva-bhutah sanatanah. “The living entities in this conditioned world are My eternal fragmental parts”
- Lord Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.27) says that whatever we do, whatever we undergo as penance, whatever we sacrifice, whatever we eat or whatever we give in charity must be offered to Him. That is the way of utilizing our borrowed energy
- Lord Krsna is known as Yogesvara, the master of all mystic powers. In Bhagavad-gita (BG 18.78) it is said wherever there is the master of all mystic powers (yatra yogesvarah krsnah), victory, fortune and all other opulences are present
- Lord Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 15.15) that He is present in everyone's heart and is helping everyone to either remember or forget
- Lord Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 7.14): "This divine energy of Mine, consisting of the three modes of material nature, is difficult to overcome. But those who have surrendered unto Me can easily cross beyond it."
- Lord Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 7.3), manusyanam sahasresu kascid yatati siddhaye: out of many, many millions of people, one may be interested in learning how to attain success in spiritual matters
- Lord Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita that the body, made of the gross physical elements (earth, water, fire, air and sky) and the subtle elements (mind, intelligence and ego), is completely different from the soul proper
- Lord Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita, pranavah sarva-vedesu: "In all the Vedic mantras, I am represented by pranava, or omkara." Thus chanting of the Vedic mantras beginning with omkara is directly chanting of Krsna's name
- Lord Krsna says in the BG 7.28: Persons who have acted piously in previous lives and in this life and whose sinful actions are completely eradicated are freed from the duality of delusion, and they engage themselves in My service with determination
- Lord Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 18.55), bhaktya mam abhijanati: "One can understand Me only by the devotional process"
- Lord Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita, "The influence of the material nature is insurmountable, but anyone who surrenders unto Me can verily overcome the influence of material nature"
- Lord Krsna states in Bhagavad-gita, vyapasritya: one should accept a spiritual master. By this process the entire world can be converted to Krsna consciousness
- Lord Krsna states in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 10.10): To those who are constantly devoted to serving Me (Krsna) with love, I give the understanding by which they can come to Me
- Lord Krsna states in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 15.15): I am seated in everyone's heart, and from Me come remembrance, knowledge and forgetfulness. By all the Vedas I am to be known. Indeed, I am the compiler of Vedanta, and I am the knower of the Vedas
- Lord Siva acts on behalf of Lord Visnu. When the Lord says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 14.4) that He is the father of all living entities (aham bija-pradah pita), this refers to actions performed by Lord Visnu through Lord Siva
- Lord Siva prays to the controller of the mind, Lord Aniruddha, to be pleased to help him engage his mind on the lotus feet of the Lord. It is stated in Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.34): man-mana bhava mad-bhakto mad-yaji mam namaskuru
- Lord Siva said, "As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, You (Krsna) appear in order to protect the devotees, and thus Your appearance indicates good fortune for all the universe"
- Lord Sri Krsna also says in Bhagavad-gita that simply by surrendering unto Him one is immediately relieved of all sinful reactions. As Krsna takes away all the sinful reactions of a person immediately upon his surrender unto Him
- Lord Sri Krsna has therefore stated in the Bhagavad-gita that to take blessings from the demigods is less intelligent because when one takes benedictions from the demigods the results of such benedictions are temporary
- Lord Visnu is the master of the spiritual world, yet He controls the material world also, as stated in Bhagavad-gita (mayadhyaksena prakrtih suyate sacaracaram) - BG 9.10

- Material bondage is caused by putting oneself under the control of matter because of the false ego of lording it over material nature. Bhagavad-gita (BG 7.27) states, iccha-dvesa-samutthena. Two kinds of propensities arise in the living entity
- Mayayapahrta-jnana. That is stated in the Bhagavad-gita. They are so-called educated, doctors, but actually they have no knowledge. Simply they are bluffing, cheating. Where is the question of creation
N
- Na hanyate hanyamane sarire. As stated in Bhagavad-gita (2.20), there is neither birth nor death for the soul. The soul is not destroyed when the body is annihilated
- Narada Muni and the present spiritual master speak the same teachings of Krsna, who says in Bhagavad-gita
- Narayana Rsi, being an incarnation of Krsna, is also addressed as the well-wisher of the conditioned souls. As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, everyone should know that there is no well-wisher like Krsna
- Nature's law is not ultimate. There is law maker, and that law maker is God. That is stated in the Bhagavad-gita, mayadhyaksena prakrtih suyate sa-caracaram (BG 9.10): "Prakrti," means nature - is working under My superintendence
- No kind of material qualification is the means for satisfying the Supreme Personality of Godhead. As stated in Bhagavad-gita, only by devotional service can the Lord be known
- No one can independently create, maintain or annihilate. Bhagavad-gita (BG 3.27) says:The bewildered spirit soul, under the influence of the three modes of material nature, thinks himself the doer of activities that are in actuality carried out by nature
- No one can manufacture or concoct a religion; "religion" refers to the injunctions or laws of the Lord. In Bhagavad-gita the Lord says that religion means to surrender unto Him
- No one has to discover the nature of the Lord. It is already spoken by the Lord Himself in the Bhagavad-gita especially and in all other Vedic literatures generally. We have simply to accept them in toto and abide by the orders of the Lord
- No one is the creator of Krsna; rather, He is the creator of everyone. As He says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 10.8), aham sarvasya prabhavo mattah sarvam pravartate
- Nobody can understand Bhagavad-gita unless he is a devotee of Lord Krsna. That is the first qualification. It is clearly said here (in BG 04.01). You cannot go beyond Bhagavad-gita
- Nondevotees cannot understand the contradictions present in the Supreme Lord or His devotees. Therefore in Bhagavad-gita the Lord says that the transcendental pastimes can be understood through devotional service; to nondevotees they are inconceivable
- Not only must a brahmana be well qualified according to the requirements stated in scriptures such as Srimad Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam, but at the same time he must be a devotee of Lord Krsna
- Now I am very powerful, very happy. Let me love dog instead of God - that means you are preparing your next life as dog. It is stated in the BG that at the time of death the mentality you have created throughout the life, that will carry you to other body
- Now I do not know what other people give analogy, but my business is that we take it from Bhagavad-gita that living entities are part and parcel of God
- Now, because you are on the field work, you have to meet so many opposite elements. And you have to satisfy them or fight with them with conclusive statements from Bhagavad-gita, and Srimad-Bhagavatam
- Now, if my bodily activities or sensual activities are incorrect, I will not be able to understand myself - what I am - and the Bhagavad-gita says that we are all grand fools. Why fools? Since we have this body, we are fools

- On that absolute platform the SPG is worshipable. As stated in the BG 18.55, bhaktya mam abhijanati yavan yas casmi tattvatah. On the absolute platform, the worshipful Deity is one, and the process of worship is also one. That process is bhakti
- On the strength of this statement from the Bhagavad-gita (18.61), we can understand that in santa-rasa a devotee sees the Lord’s representation everywhere
- One cannot be engaged in the penance of devotional service without being completely free from all sins. As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, only a person who is completely free from all reactions of sins can engage himself in the worship of the Lord
- One cannot fix one's mind upon an impersonal something. Bhagavad-gita therefore says, kleso dhikataras tesam avyaktasakta-cetasam: For those whose minds are attached to the unmanifested, impersonal feature of the Supreme, advancement is very troublesome
- One has to approach the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna, as it is stated in Bhagavad-gita: After many, many births, one approaches the Supreme Person, Krsna, and surrenders unto Him, knowing that He is everything
- One should become sannyasa by action, not by dress. In Bhagavad-gita it is said that any person who doesn't work for himself but for Krishna only is a perfect sannyasa and perfect yogi, never mind what order he lives in
- One should chant the bona fide songs received from the disciplic succession. In Bhagavad-gita it is said that the chanting is powerful when one follows the disciplic succession (evam parampara-praptam imam rajarsayo viduh) - BG 4.2
- One should follow the instructions of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Then, as stated in Bhagavad-gita, tyaktva deham punar janma naiti mam eti so 'rjuna: (BG 4.9) after giving up one's body, one will return home, back to Godhead
- One should hear the Gita from the devotee because at the beginning of the Fourth Chapter it is stated that the Gita can only be perfectly understood by devotees. Hearing the Gita from devotees, not from mental speculators, is called faith. BG 1972 pur
- One should know with certainty that Krsna had no personal interest in whatever He did for the benediction of the gopis. As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, na mam karmani limpanti: (BG 4.14) Krsna never enjoys or suffers the results of His activities
- One should not fail to worship the Deity according to his means. In the Bhagavad-gita it is stated that the Lord is satisfied even if some devotee offers him a leaf or a little water
- One who comes under the shelter of the lotus feet of the Lord never becomes attracted by the activities of family life. As stated in Bhagavad-gita (BG 2.59), param drstva nivartate: one gives up lower engagements when he experiences a higher taste
- One's determination is fulfilled according to the strength of one's devotion. As stated in Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.25): yanti deva-vrata devan pitṟn yanti pitr-vratah
- One's present body will be finished, and then one will have to accept another body. What kind of body one will accept is stated in Bhagavad-gita - 14.18
- Our first problem is - because we have got this material body - eating. Everyone must eat. So Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita, annad bhavanti bhutani (BG 3.14): "If there is sufficient food grains, then both man and animal, they become happy."
- Our mission is that Indians especially, they should take advantage of Bhagavad-gita - not by distorting the meaning. As it is. You cannot distort the statement of BG. Then you defy the authority of BG. Then you manufacture your own way. That is very bad
- Our preaching is on the basis of Bhagavad-gita As It Is. In this Bhagavad-gita it is stated that God is the Supreme Being, and He is the proprietor of all planets and actually He is the enjoyer of all benefits
- Our principle is that if you want to understand God, then you must be sinless, because God is pure. Anyone who is sinful, he cannot understand God. That is stated in the Bhagavad-gita: yesam (tu) anta-gatam papam

- People are generally addicted to offering obeisances to various demigods, but Bharata Maharaja simply wanted to please Lord Vasudeva. As stated in Bhagavad-gita: bhoktaram yajna-tapasam sarva-loka-mahesvaram
- Perfection means to engage in one's original consciousness. That is perfection. That is stated in Bhagavad-gita (BG 18.45): "By following his qualities of work, every man can become perfect." Complete perfection. Samsiddhi
- Persons engaged in pursuing spiritual understanding have no time to earn their livelihood. They depend completely on the mercy of the Lord, who (Krsna) says in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.22) that He personally carries to them all their necessities
- Persons who are demons, enemies of the SPG, are called asuras. As stated in Bhagavad-gita, the asuras, because of their enmity toward the SPG, take birth after birth in asura families and therefore glide down to the darkest hellish regions
- Powerful nature can be pacified only by the awakening of God consciousness, as clearly pointed out in the Bhagavad-gita (7.14)
- Prahlada Maharaja wanted to reply that an attitude favorable toward Visnu can develop only when the Lord is favorable (sa yadanuvratah). As stated in Bhagavad-gita, Krsna is the friend of everyone
- Prthu Maharaja said that the Supreme Personality of Godhead attained this opulence of eternal fame simply by worshiping the lotus feet of the brahmanas. In the Bhagavad-gita it is said that the Lord does not need to work to achieve material gain
- Putana's understanding is very significant. The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna, is situated in everyone's heart. It is stated in the Bhagavad-gita that He gives one necessary intelligence, and He also causes one to forget

- Real enjoyment is beyond these senses.That is stated in the Bhagavad-gita. Sukham atyantikam yat tat. The real happiness is not by these gross senses. By transcendental senses, we can enjoy real happiness
- Real problem is not this temporary problem that we are in such-and-such distressed condition. But real problem is, as Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita, janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi-duhkha-dosanudarsanam
- Regarding liberation, it is stated in Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.9): tyaktva deham punar janma naiti. Liberation means that after giving up this body one does not have to accept another material body
- Remembering those (cursing) words, he (Siva) was sorry at heart, although to please his wife he smiled. In Bhagavad-gita it is said that a liberated person is always in mental equilibrium in both the distress and the happiness of this material world
- Research is going on for the karmis, jnanis and yogis, but until the search is complete, no one can attain peace. Therefore the Bhagavad-gita (BG 5.229) says, jnatva mam santim rcchati: one can actually attain peace when he knows Krsna

- Sacrifice is ultimately meant to satisfy the yajna-purusa, Visnu. In Bhagavad-gita (BG 3.13) it is said that one who accepts foodstuffs as the remnants of sacrifice is freed from all sinful reactions
- Sakti is feminine, and the Lord is purusa, masculine. It is the duty of the female to serve under the supreme purusa. As stated in Bhagavad-gita, all living entities are marginal energies of the Supreme Lord
- Sati decided to give up her body because she thought herself to be among the sudras and vaisyas. As stated in Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.32), striyo vaisyas tatha sudrah. Women, laborers and the mercantile class are on the same level
- Satisfaction of the Lord is the criterion of one who is bona fide, and the highest perfection of life is to satisfy the Lord by one's occupational duty. That is the verdict of Gita and Bhagavatam
- Says in the Bhagavad-gita: If you want to stop this chaotic condition, then accept Me (Krsna) that I am the enjoyer and proprietor of this whole world, and I am your real friend. Let the business be done on My account
- Second, whatever temporary result one derives from worshiping the demigods is actually granted by the permission of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. It is clearly stated in the Bhagavad-gita: mayaiva vihitan hi tan
- Serious students of yoga, practice it seriously, and thus they attain the highest perfection in bhakti-yoga, as stated in Bhagavad-gita (6.47): yoginam api sarvesam, mad-gatenantaratmana, sraddhavan bhajate yo mam, sa me yuktatamo matah
- Siddhi means perfection. In the Bhagavad-gita it is stated that one who goes back home, back to Godhead, has attained the complete perfection
- Similarly, this cosmic creation is sometimes manifest and sometimes unmanifest, as stated in Bhagavad-gita (8.19) - bhutva bhutva praliyate
- Simply by engaging in the loving service of the Lord one can attain liberation. As stated in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 18.54), brahma-bhutah prasannatma na socati na kanksati
- Simply by knowing in truth about the Lord's transcendental births and activities, one can get liberation at once. That is the verdict of the Bhagavad-gita
- Since he (Bali Maharaja) was a devotee, he accepted his defeat without lamentation. As stated by the Supreme Personality of Godhead in Bhagavad-gita (BG 2.47), karmany evadhikaras te ma phalesu kadacana
- Since it is said that Lord Krsna never leaves Vrndavana-dhama, one may ask how He manages the affairs of the creation. This is answered in the Bhagavad-gita: The Lord pervades the entire material creation by His plenary part known as the Paramatma
- Since the lotus feet of Lord Sri Krsna are the shelter of all devotees, Sri Krsna is called param dhama. In the Bhagavad-gita (BG 10.12) it is stated, param brahma param dhama pavitram paramam bhavan. Everything is resting under the lotus feet of Krsna
- So far as sacred thread ceremony is concerned, Bhagavad-gita accepts that anyone, from any place, if he is a pure devotee of Lord Krishna, he is above the position of brahmana
- So if we accept these words of Krsna, then we become actually Vedanti. Without understanding these things as spoken in the... Bhagavad-gita is the summarized Vedanta or Vedic philosophy
- Sometimes unscrupulous commentators distort the meaning of what is clearly stated here (in BG 9.34): that all devotional service should be offered to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna. BG 1972 purports
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said, "If you want to see Me, you may come later, but for the time being I shall go alone through the Jharikhanda forest"
- Sri Krsna is the Personality of Godhead and is the Summum Bonum Cause of all Causes proved by fact and figures in the statement of Bhagavad-gita, but He reserves the right of not being exposed to the sensual speculations of the empiric philosophers
- Srila Vyasadeva at once accepts the supreme mind as the paramesvara, the supreme controller. As stated in Bhagavad-gita and all other scriptures written by Vyasadeva, that paramesvara is Krsna Himself. This is specifically validated in Srimad-Bhagavatam
- Stated in the Bhagavad-gita (7.14): - This divine energy of Mine, consisting of the three modes of material nature, is difficult to overcome. But those who have surrendered unto Me can easily cross beyond it
- Stated in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 14.26): - One who engages in full devotional service, who does not fall down in any circumstances, at once transcends the modes of material nature and thus comes to the level of Brahman
- Stated in the Bhagavad-gita, that our different types of body, desires, activities, are due to our being infected by the particular quality of material nature. Perfected quality. There are three qualities: sattva-guna, rajo-guna, tamo-guna
- Stated in the Bhagavad-gita, the Supreme Lord, the Personality of Godhead, is equal to everyone. He has no friends and no enemies. But He is inclined to a devotee who renders Him service with devotional love
- Such nondevotees are compared to chained animals, for they are not able to go beyond the jurisdiction of the formalities of a certain type of faith. In the Bhagavad-gita they are condemned as veda-vada-rata
- Such truths (acintya-bhedabheda philosophy) cannot be understood unless one is a pure devotee, for the Lord says in BG 18.55, bhaktya mam abhijanati yavan yas casmi tattvatah: One can understand the Supreme Personality as He is only by devotional service
- Systematic hearing means knowing Him (Krsna) gradually in truth and fact, and this knowing Him in truth and fact means attaining eternal life, as stated in the Bhagavad-gita

- Te Aryan civilization there are four divisions to maintain the society in the correct balance. That is also stated in the Bhagavad-gita: catur-varnyam maya srstam guna-karma-vibhagasah (BG 4.13). The society must be divided into four classes of men
- That (to know transcendental science one must go to an expert guru) is the injunction of every Vedic sastra. And this order is from the Kathopanisad. Then, on the Bhagavad-gita the same thing is said, tad viddhi pranipatena - BG 4.34
- That is pious life. No illicit sex, no meat-eating, no intoxication and no gambling. These are the four pillars of sinful life. So if we want to know God, we must be free from sinful life. This is stated in the Bhagavad-gita
- That is the duty of human life, to become KC. And that is stated here. Vita-raga-bhaya-krodha man-maya mam upasritah, bahavah (BG 4.10). It is not that one or two. Many. Jnana-tapasa. Jnana. That is required, knowledge and tapasya. That is human life
- That is the purport of the words vyakta-avyakta in the Hari-vamsa. In the Bhagavad-gita it is said, avyakto ’vyaktat sanatanah: both these energies are eternally manifested
- The affectionate father gives the son just what he wants. Similarly, the Supreme Father gives His sons and daughters just what they want. It is stated in Bhagavad-gita that all beings, in all species of life, are His children - BG 14.4
- The battle (of Kuruksetra) was just about to begin. It is understood from the above statement (BG 1.20) that the sons of Dhrtarastra were more or less disheartened by the unexpected arrangement of military force by the Pandavas. BG 1972 purports
- The best example of nirvana is cited in Bhagavad-gita. In the beginning the mind of Arjuna deviated from Krsna's. Krsna wanted Arjuna to fight, but Arjuna did not want to, so there was disagreement
- The Bhagavad-gita (4.8) similarly states that the Lord appears in order to vanquish nonbelievers and protect believers
- The Bhagavad-gita (BG 14.27) clearly mentions that the impersonal Brahman is dependent upon Govinda. That is the real conception of absolute knowledge
- The Bhagavad-gita (BG 5.29) states, bhoktaram yajna-tapasam sarva-loka-mahesvaram, indicating that the Supreme Lord, acting in His expansion as the Supersoul, is the proprietor of everything
- The Bhagavad-gita (BG 7.20) says that demigod worship is meant for men who have lost all their intelligence
- The Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.25) says, The worshipers of the demigods will be promoted to the respective planets of the demigods, but devotees of the Supreme Lord will go back home, back to Godhead
- The Bhagavad-gita affirms that a devotee is never vanquished. A devotee's path to the spiritual kingdom, back home, back to Godhead, is guaranteed
- The Bhagavad-gita affirms this (demigods are powerful because they serve God), and the different planets of the demigods are mentioned, including the one of the supreme demigod, Lord Brahma
- The Bhagavad-gita As It Is is pure knowledge. It tells us of our relationship as eternal spirit soul with the supersoul Lord Krishna the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- The Bhagavad-gita clearly says that one who takes the property of God and claims it as his own is a thief (stena eva sah) - BG 3.12
- The Bhagavad-gita clearly states that the reaction of material energy is never to be conquered, because of the binding effects of the three modes. They can simply be overcome by one who surrenders fully in devotion under the lotus feet of the Lord
- The Bhagavad-gita confirms in the Sixth Chapter (47), stating that anyone absorbed in such thought (of Krsna) is the best of all yogis. Such transcendental absorption is known as samadhi
- The Bhagavad-gita confirms that only one who is completely freed from all sinful reactions can engage in devotional service, or Krsna consciousness
- The Bhagavad-gita corroborates the fact that one who is absorbed in the thought of the Supreme Lord at the time of death immediately enters the kingdom of God after quitting his material body
- The Bhagavad-gita indicates that in the material world all component forms are subject to decay and death, regardless of their duration of life
- The Bhagavad-gita is within the Mahabharata; therefore all the statements of the Bhagavad-gita are self-evident. There is no need for interpretation, and if we do interpret, the entire authority of the Vedic literature is lost
- The Bhagavad-gita says that just as our outer garments are changed, so this body is changed. Yoga means the process of getting out of this material embodiment
- The Bhagavad-gita says that material nature works under the direction of Krsna
- The Bhagavad-gita says that one can be freed from the control of the material nature by surrendering unto the Supreme Lord, but if there is no surrender, then the living entity will never be able to control the material nature
- The Bhagavad-gita says that one should be above the dominion of fruitive activities. There are different kinds of liberation, or mukti. The best mukti is engagement in the devotional service of the Supreme Lord
- The Bhagavad-gita says that out of many thousands of human beings, one may try to make perfection of his life. Man is an animal, but he has one special prerogative, rational thought. What is that rational thought? Reasoning power, argument
- The Bhagavad-gita says that the worshipers of the demigods are bereft of intelligence; their process of worship is very difficult, and at the same time the result obtained is flickering and temporary
- The Bhagavad-gita says that this knowledge has to be taken by the parampara system or the disciplic succession. It is not that anyone can interpret. This viewpoint no bona fide student of Bhagavad-gita will accept
- The Bhagavad-gita says, out of many thousands, someone may develop this reasoning power: "Why am I suffering?" He asks this question - Why am I suffering
- The Bhagavad-gita states that devotees of the highest grade are under the care of daiva-maya, or yogamaya: mahatmanas tu mam partha daivim prakrtim asritah
- The Bhagavad-gita states that the Personality of Godhead Sri Krsna maintains these material universes by extending His plenary expansions. So this purusa form is the confirmation of the same principle
- The Bhagavad-gita, Bhagavan, personally says that "Your real miserable condition of life are the four things: janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi (BG 13.9)." But who is taking seriously
- The brahmanas should follow the instructions of the Supreme Personality of Godhead as stated in Bhagavad-gita and other Vedic literatures. The criterion must be guna and karma
- The cause of the Supreme Lord's appearance upon this earth is stated in Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.7-8) by the Lord Himself
- The champion (Kesava Kasmiri) surrendered unto the Lord (Caitanya), and the Lord favored him. One who is favored by the Lord is freed from material bondage, as stated in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.9): tyaktva deham punar janma naiti mam eti so ’rjuna
- The codes and the orders and the rules and regulations, they're all stated in the Bhagavad-gita. So if we follow the instruction of Bhagavad-gita and accept . . . we accept, consciously or unconsciously. That is our Indian culture, Vedic culture
- The contamination of the material world does not affect the Supreme Godhead. Krsna therefore says in the Bhagavad-gita that those who are rascals and fools think of Him as an ordinary human being, not knowing His param bhavam

- The devotees are very fortunate to be delivered very soon from material existence by the Lord. BG 1972 purports
- The devotees meditate upon the Lord's (Krsna's) factual form and pastimes, and therefore the Lord is easily approachable by the devotees. This is also stated in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 12.9)
- The directions given by the bhakti-sastra point one in the perfect direction because the Supreme Personality of Godhead says in Bhagavad-gita, bhaktya mam abhijanati: (BG 18.55) "Only by devotional service am I to be known
- The duration of a day in the life of Brahma is 4,320,000,000 solar years. This is stated also in the Bhagavad-gita. And for this same period Brahmaji rests at night in yoga-nidra within the body of the Garbhodakasayi Visnu, the generator of Brahma
- The duration of Lord Brahma's life is stated in Bhagavad-gita: sahasra-yuga-paryantam ahar yad brahmano viduh (BG 8.17). Even the duration of one day, or twelve hours, of Brahma is 4,300,000 years multiplied by one thousand
- The earth floats in space among many millions of other planets, all of them bearing huge mountains and oceans. It floats because Krsna enters into it, as stated in Bhagavad-gita (gam avisya (BG 15.13)), just as He enters the atom
- The easiest process for understanding the subject matter of self is to accept the statements of the Bhagavad-gita spoken by the greatest authority, Lord Krsna, without being deviated by other theories. BG 1972 purports
- The eating process is the same, but if you eat directly then you become materialistically encumbered. If you offer to Krsna, however, and then take it, then you become freed from all contamination of material life. That is stated in Bhagavad-gita
- The father is training, mother is training. Are you not born foolish? In the Bhagavata says, abodha-jatah: "born foolish." Everyone is born rascal. So if he does not take help from the authorities how he can make progress?
- The first words they (Lord Brahma and Lord Siva) spoke acclaimed that the Lord is true to His vow. As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, Krsna descends to this material world just to protect the pious and destroy the impious

- The kingdom of God is unlimited; therefore the number of the assisting hands of the Lord is also unlimited. The Bhagavad-gita (BG 13.14) asserts that the Lord has His hands, legs, eyes and mouths in every nook and corner of His creation
- The lifetime of Brahma, who lives on the highest planet, is stated in Bhagavad-gita (8.17): sahasra-yuga-paryantam ahar yad brahmano viduh. We cannot calculate even twelve hours of Brahma with our mathematical figures, but even Brahma has to die
- The living entities are mentioned as prakrti in the Bhagavad-gita, and in Sanskrit prakrti is a feminine object
- The living entity is actually separate from material existence, for the soul is not material. In BG it is also said that the living entity is the superior energy, and the material elements - earth, water, fire, air and so on - are the inferior energy

- The Lord (Krsna) says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.29): I envy no one, nor am I partial to anyone. I am equal to all. But whoever renders service unto Me in devotion is a friend, is in Me, and I am also a friend to him

- They (lower than fourth class population) are the unwanted population known as varna-sankara, and as stated in Bhagavad-gita, an increase of varna-sankara population creates a hellish society. This is the society in which Americans now find themselves
- They (scientists, philosophers, economists and mathematicians) waste time and energy in the search for so-called happiness. These are the qualifications of the demons. In BG 9.11 it says that when one has all these demonic qualities, he becomes a mudha
- They (the locked up gopis) proved to be the greatest yogis; as is stated in the Bhagavad-gita, a person who is constantly thinking of Krsna within his heart with faith and love is considered to be the topmost of all yogis
