- These so-called brahmanas then became angry at him. Because they were servants of Hiranyakasipu, they were very sorry, and to chastise Prahlada Maharaja they spoke as follows
- These two associates of the Lord-Jaya and Vijaya later descended to the material world, taking birth as the two sons of Diti, Hiranyakasipu being the elder and Hiranyaksa the younger. They were very much respected by the Daityas and Danavas
- These two learned heads (Srivasa Thakura and Sri Advaita Prabhu) of the brahmana community were the most ardent supporters of Lord Caitanya's movement
- These two verses (of CC Madhya 11.29-30) are quoted from Srimad-Bhagavatam (SB 11.19.21-22). They were spoken by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Krsna, who was answering Uddhava’s inquiry about devotional service

- They (Jaya and Vijaya) prayed, therefore, that this (forgetfulness of the Lord) might not happen in the lives they were going to accept because of the curse
- They (Krsna and Balarama) went to the abode of Varuna, for They were pledged to give protection to the inhabitants of Vrndavana, who were all unalloyed devotees of the Lord

- They (people) were immensely supplied with all necessities for life due to King Rsabhadeva's good government. Consequently everyone felt full satisfaction and did not want anything. This is the perfection of government
- They (Prahlada Maharaja's class friends) were all fools, devoid of Krsna consciousness, and therefore he was showing them how to become Krsna conscious. This is the highest mercy
- They (Raghunatha dasa’s father, Govardhana, and uncle, Hiranya dasa) presented themselves as Vaisnavas to the eyes of people in general, although from a purely spiritual point of view they were ordinary human beings, not pure Vaisnavas
- They (Rupa Govami and Sanatana Gosvami) did not live even two nights under the same tree, and what to speak of well-furnished rooms with modern amenities. And still they were able to give us most important literatures of self-realization
- They (suvarna-vanik) were known as the Saptagrami mercantile community of Calcutta, and most of them belonged to the Mullik and Sil families. More than half of Calcutta belonged to this community, as did Srila Uddharana Thakura
- They (the brahmanas) are called vijatiya-loka. In other words, they were not pure devotees

- They (the cowherd boys) could not understand that Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, but they were playing as intimate friends with intense love for Him
- They (the cowherd boys) were astonished to see that they were completely free from the attack of the blazing fire and that the cows were saved. They secretly thought that Krsna must be not an ordinary boy but some demigod
- They (the demigods) were also informed that the external potency of Visnu (Maya), with whom all the conditioned souls are enamored, would also appear by the order of the Supreme Lord, just to execute His purpose
- They (the demigods) were very glad that the Lord was appearing to fulfill His mission, and they addressed Him as satyam param, or the Supreme Absolute Truth

- They (the Gopis) were so stunned by the situation that they could not finish their household duties. No one could excel Him (Krsna) even in the dealing of love exchanged between boys and girls
- They (the inferior demigods) were also coming in planes. The word sva-nilayabhyase indicates that they were passing right near her (Sati's) residential quarters. The dresses and bodily features of the wives of the heavenly denizens are nicely described
- They (the inhabitants of Vrndavana) possessed such an abundance of various kinds of milk products that they were throwing butter lavishly on each other's bodies without restriction
- They (the Kumaras) refused (to get married and beget children), and at that time Lord Brahma was angry. In that angry mood, Rudra, or Lord Siva, was born. Thus they were intimately related

- They (the messages) were more confidential and could be sent or understood only through such a pure devotee as Uddhava. Since such confidential knowledge was known only to the Lord and Uddhava, it is said that Uddhava was as good as the Lord Himself
- They (the people of Kundina) were very much pleased, considering Lord Krsna the suitable match for Rukmini. They were so eager to unite Krsna and Rukmini
- They (the Six Gosvamis) were very, very expert in studying sastra very scrutinizingly. Why they studied so much? Because they wanted to establish sad-dharma, real type of religion, bhakti. They are quoting, therefore, from so many, nana-sastra
- They (the spirit souls) are under the spell of the three modes of material nature. Because they were created by the material energy, their bodies are made of the material elements

- They (the wives of the brahmanas) were very much chastised for this by their husbands, and they were ready to give up their lives
- They (Uttanapada and Priyavrata) were very competent to rule the universe to maintain and protect the citizens because both of them were descendants of a plenary expansion of Vasudeva, the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- They (Vedas) have simply been developed into different branches, They were originally rendered by great, respectable and learned professors
- They (Vidura and Akrura) pacified her (Kunti), saying that her sons were extraordinarily powerful; she should not be perturbed about them, since they were born of great demigods like Yamaraja, Indra and Vayu
- They are all coming here to see You, but seeing that they were delayed, I came alone very quickly
- They did not see it before, but because of Arjuna they were also able to see it. In other words, all the disciplic devotees of the Lord could see the universal form which was shown to Arjuna by the mercy of Krsna. BG 1972 purports

- They made noisy sounds I could not understand. I guess they were offering prayers to someone
- They were all His (God's) sons and grandsons and were given complete protection by the paternal affection of the Lord. How they could be vanquished in the presence of the Lord is answered in this verse (SB 3.4.3) : everything was done by the Lord Himself
- They were blindly following sense gratification. Now it has come to the stage, "What to do?" "What to do?" This is athato brahma jijnasa: "Now enquire about Brahman." This is the statement

- They were even free from all bodily miseries, anxieties of mind, and disturbances caused by natural phenomena and other living beings
- They were executed in holy places according to the proper time by priests who were all young and faithful. In this way Lord Visnu was worshiped, and the prasada was offered to all the demigods. Thus the functions and festivals were all successful
- They were not intelligent to understand how the creation took place. Had they been intelligent, they would not have crucified such a great personality like Jesus Christ
- They were overpowered by the desire to become very rich; therefore they had the audacity to disobey the injunctions of the Vedas, so much so that they were prepared to kill Jada Bharata, a self-realized soul born in a brahmana family
- They were physically very strong and expert in fighting, and their aim was to disturb the sacrifices performed by the great sages
- They were so liberal. He (Duryodhana) said, "Yes, come in. If you want the kingdom without fighting, I am prepared." But a Ksatriya will never beg, "Give me, sir, without . . ." No. If they can own by fighting then they will claim. This is Ksatriya spirit

- They were very much pleased to see Maharaja Pariksit, a devotee of the Lord, and they spoke as follows

- This (Satadruti attracted all the learned and exalted demigods simply by the tinkling of her ankle bells) indicates that all the demigods wanted to see her beauty completely, but they were not able to see it because she was fully dressed
- This attachment of the gopis to Krsna is wonderful and transcendental. The center of all the activities of the gopis was Krsna. When Krsna was there they were happy, and when Krsna was not there, they were unhappy
- This is significant of spiritual advancement. Their (the gopis) desires appeared lusty, but actually they were not the lusty desires of the material world
