- A businessman may consider a certain banker to be a mahajana, and karmis desiring material enjoyment may consider philosophers like Jaimini to be mahajanas. There are many yogis who want to control the senses, and for them Patanjali Rsi is a mahajana
- A devotee does not give any importance to the ultimate goal of the karmis and jnanis
- A devotee in full Krsna consciousness appears superficially to be a great karmi, always working, but the inner significance of the devotee's activities is that they are meant for the satisfaction of the Lord. This is called bhakti, or devotional service

- Karmis hanker to be promoted to the heavenly planets, but a Krsna conscious person considers such promotion a will-o'- the-wisp, good for nothing
- Karmis labor to accumulate more and more money for future generations only because they do not know their future position
- Karmis may consider the body of a devotee material, but factually it is not, for a devotee has no conception of material enjoyment
- Karmis think that the material body is an instrument for material enjoyment, and that is why they work extremely hard. A devotee, however, has no such desires
- Karmis waste their valuable human life by sleeping and sex indulgence at night, and by laboring hard in the daytime to accumulate wealth, and after doing so, they try to improve the standard of materialistic life
- Karmis who engage in sinful acts and who do not know the true objective of life are called mudhas, asses
- Karmis work day and night to improve their economic condition, jnanis undergo severe austerities in order to get liberation, and yogis also undergo severe austerities by practicing the yoga system for attainment of wonderful mystic powers
- Karmis work very hard simply to enjoy sex. Modern human society has improved the materialistic way of life simply by inducing unrestricted sex life in many different ways. This is most prominently visible in the Western world
- Karmis, fruitive workers, cannot understand the finer conclusions of devotional service because they accept only its ritualistic value but do not understand how devotional service satisfies the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- Karmis, fruitive workers, think that one should fully enjoy his present life in this material world and also perform some pious activities to be promoted to higher planetary systems for further enjoyment in the next life
- Karmis, fruitive workers, try to enjoy this world and reap the fruits of it. Consequently, they are constantly traveling on expressways all day and night to engage in material enjoyment
- Karmis, jnanis and yogis all hanker to possess some material or spiritual assets. Karmis want material possessions, jnanis and yogis want spiritual possessions, but devotees do not want any material or spiritual assets
- Karmis, jnanis and yogis are full of anxiety because they want something, but a devotee does not want anything; he is simply satisfied in the service of the Lord, who is fully blissful
- Karmis, jnanis and yogis cannot be bound in devotional service. Karmis fully engage in the activities of the body. Their aim of life is to give comfort to the body only
- Karmis, jnanis, yogis, tapasvis and students of Vedic literature who do not have Krsna consciousness simply beat around the bush and do not get any final profit because they have no clear knowledge of the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- Karmis, marriage is necessary, because without sex life they cannot work. And for jnanis, yogis, bhaktas, sex life prohibited
- Karmis, or persons attached to material sense enjoyment, generally cannot give up their material desires, but krsna-katha is such a potent medicine that if one is induced to hear krsna-kirtana, he will certainly be freed from this disease
- Karmis, therefore, try for promotion to the higher planetary systems (because one day in the higher planetary systems equals six of our months), but this cannot free them from death
- Karmis, they are called asses. Not for his personal benefit, but he does not know for whose benefit he is working so hard, but still he is working, without benefit. Therefore sa eva go-kharah
- Karmis, they are trying to be elevated in higher planetary system. And jnanis, they are wanting to become one with the Supreme. So that is also demand. That means there is some desire. It is not anyabhilasita-sunyam
- Krsna Consciousness Movement is meant for defying both classes of men; namely the karmis and the jnanis or yogis. That is our mission. Now among our students those who are advanced should take up this matter more seriously
- Krsna-bhakta-niskama, ataeva 'santa.' (CC Madhya 19.149) Only a Krsna conscious person, who knows the aim and object of life, is peaceful. All others, whether karmis, jnanis or yogis, are restless and cannot enjoy real peace

- Less intelligent persons are known as karmis, or fruitive workers, and jnanis, or dry mental speculators
- Let us study the laws of God." So jnani, karmi . . . and yogi, they are also of the same view. So karmi, jnani, yogi, and the last is bhakta
- Lord Visnu fulfills the desires of the karmis as they desire, but the Lord fulfills the desire of a devotee in a different way so that the devotee may gradually come to Him. This is confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita

- Materialistic men are called karmis, or fruitive laborers, and they are allowed regulated economic development or association of woman for sex indulgence
- Materially speaking, every living entity dies; death is inevitable. But those who are karmis, jnanis and yogis return to this material world after death, whereas bhaktas do not
- Modern civilization is centered around animal-killing. Karmis are advertising that without eating meat, their vitamin value or vitality will be reduced; so to keep oneself fit to work hard, one must eat meat
- Mudha means ass. The karmis have been described as ass, whole day working, a beast of burden
- Mukti means those who are disappointed. Disappointed must be because nobody can be happy here with this karmi plan. That is not possible. So he will be disappointed. But disappointed when? After many, many births' struggle for existence
- Mukunda, Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu's class friend and devotee, so he was attending many jnani, karmi, yogi . . . he was going everywhere. Caitanya Mahaprabhu became very much displeased, just to show example that we should not be hodgepodge

- Narada-pancaratra trains the karmis, or the fruitive workers, to achieve liberation from the bondage of fruitive work
- Neither karmis nor jnanis are purified. In the words of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Thakura, they are kukarmis and kujnanis - bad fruitive actors and bad speculators
- No karmī can expect to improve his business so swiftly, and besides that, Whatever a karmi acquires is temporary and sometimes frustrating. In Krsna consciousness, however, everything is encouraging and improving
- Nobody is paid here a single farthing. Rather, he brings money. But still, he is happy. But the karmis, they are getting money, salary; still, they are not happy
- None of them (karmis, jnanis, yogis) are situated in a transcendental position. Only devotees who belong to none of the groups, are transcendental
- Not knowing the value of life, karmis create situations whereby they suffer in this life and the next

- Of course the jnani's position is better than that of the karmi but that position is also insufficient. The jnani must actually become liberated, and after liberation he may be situated in devotional service BG 18.54, mad-bhaktim labhate param
- Of course, after death there must be birth; therefore Yavana-raja thought it wise to kill all the karmis through the agency of Kalakanya and thus try to make them aware that materialistic advancement is not actually advancement
- Once a great karmi accumulated a vast fortune for his sons and grandsons, but later, according to his karma, he took his birth in a cobbler's house located near the building which in his previous life he had constructed for his children
- Once these mind-clouding doubts disperse, one enters the doors of pure devotional service. Karmis and jnanis are also tainted by material desires - the desire to enjoy their senses and the desire for liberation, respectively
- Once we take shelter of the lotus feet of Krsna, we turn the switch off for our karmic activities, and although these activities may still revolve, it is to be understood that they will quickly diminish
- One may progress from one stage to another, coming from the stage of karmi or fruitive laborer, to the stage of jnani or philosopher, to the stage of yogi or meditator, but in any case one finally has to come to the platform of bhakti, or DS
- One should hear such (about God) discourses from a person Bhagavatam and not from the professional man, or from the karmi, jnani or yogi. That is the secret of learning the science
- One who can actually see that despite activities there are no karmic reactions, who understands the nature of akarma actually sees things as they are. The word akarmani refers to one who is trying to avoid the reactions of karma
- One who engages in mundane activity - be he a so-called jnani, yogi, karmi, philanthropist, nationalist, or whatever - cannot attain the higher stage of mahatma. He remains a duratma, or cripple-minded person
- One who is actually intelligent, although he may be a devotee free from material desires, a karmi desiring all kinds of material facilities, or a jnani desiring liberation, should seriously engage in bhakti-yoga for the satisfaction of the S P of God
- Only the devotee is on the platform of tattva jnana, not the others - karmis, jnanis and yogis
- Only the devotees of the Lord can be admitted to His kingdom - not the demigod worshipers, karmis, yogis or anyone else
- Only those who are on the spiritual platform are able to understand the activities of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Materialistic persons cannot understand these activities and are generally known as karmis or jnanis
- Only we, the Vaisnavas, we are trying to become servant. The karmis and jnanis, they do not like to become servant. They criticize us that - You Vaisnavas, you have got slave mentality
- Ordinary people, or karmis, are fruitive actors who work all day and night to get some enjoyable results and then again suffer. Thus the problems of such karmis are never solved
- Our knowledge is fully perfect due to being handed from master to disciple. A Vaisnava is always engaged in the transcendental loving service of the Lord, and thus neither karmis nor jnanis can understand the activities of a Vaisnava
- Our Krsna consciousness movement is directed with this understanding (to preach only devotional service, not encouraging karmis, jnanis and yogis), and therefore the asuras always try to suppress it
- Our position is transcendental, above. Karmis, they are on the material field. They are trying to enjoy on the material platform. Jnanis, they're trying to make it variety-less, & the Buddhists, they're trying to make it zero. Our philosophy is substance
- Our principle is not to work like the karmi or under a karmi. We are not sudras. Sudras are meant for working under somebody, not brahmanas
- Out of hundreds of thousands of karmis, only a few may feel tired of material engagement and desire to get out of the labyrinth. Such intelligent persons are called jnanis. The Vedanta-sutra is directed to such jnanis
- Out of many attached to fruitive activity, one may be a jnani - that is, one philosophically inclined and superior to the karmis
- Out of many millions of persons engaged in ritualistic ceremony, one becomes advanced in knowledge. They are called jnani, or speculative philosopher. Not karmis, but jnani
- Out of many thousands of karmis, one becomes jnani, jnani, in true knowledge. They are called jnani
- Out of the Vedic culture, many are addicted to the fruitive activities, ritualistic ceremony, how to go to the heavenly planet, how to become members of rich family. They are working very hard, karmi
- Out of these four classes of men (karmi, jnani, yogi and bhakta), the three classes - means karmi, jnani and yogi - they are restless, because they actually did not find out what is the solution
- Out of thousands and millions of such karmis, one may become an atmarama by self-realization. Atma means self, and arama means to take pleasure
- Out of three kinds of men - the karmis, jnanis and bhaktas - the bhakta is described herein (SB 4.24.57) as the most exalted. Srila Prabodhananda Sarasvati has sung: kaivalyam narakayate tridasa-pur akasa-puspayate (Caitanya-candramrta)

- Param brahma, the Supreme Lord, and param dhama, the supreme repose, is Krsna. Therefore anyone who desires anything - whether he be a karmi, a jnani or a yogi - should try to perceive the SPG very seriously, and all of his desires will be fulfilled
- People may say, "A karmi is dying and bhakta is dying. What is the benefit?" No. He's not dying, but he is dying or giving up this body for living forever. And the nondevotees, he is dying to accept another body. That is the difference
- People should give up the company of so-called yogis, jnanis, karmis and philanthropists because their association can benefit no one
- Prthu Maharaja expressed that he was interested neither in the benediction desired by the karmis nor that desired by the jnanis and yogis
- Pure devotees simply act for the pleasure of the Supreme Personality of Godhead; therefore the results of their activities are spiritual, or permanent. They are not like those of the karmis, which are nonpermanent

- Rajo-guna means activities for sense enjoyment. So rajo-guna, just like the karmis, they are working hard day and night. What is the purpose? Sex, that's all
- Real yoga system is to find out within the heart where is God. My business is that I've forgotten God. The karmis, they . . . karmis, real karmis, they do not forget. The upstarts, the rascals, they forget
- Regarding jobs for householders, there is no confusion. If your whole time is needed for Sankirtana Party there is no need of working in a Karmi firm
- Research is going on for the karmis, jnanis and yogis, but until the search is complete, no one can attain peace. Therefore the Bhagavad-gita (BG 5.229) says, jnatva mam santim rcchati: one can actually attain peace when he knows Krsna
- Ritualistic activities are called karma. Karmis who adopt devotional service very loosely and who therefore remain on the platform of material activities are called prakrta-sahajiyas

- Simply one has to become little intelligent. But we remain unintelligent, rascal, because we are associating with rascals. These rascal philosopher, religionists, avatara, bhagavan, swami, yogis, and karmis. Therefore we have become rascals
- Since Bharata Maharaja was a great devotee, one may ask why he performed so many sacrifices that are actually meant for karmis. The fact is that he was simply following the orders of Vasudeva
- Since Prajapati Daksa was a karmi, he could not appreciate the great service Narada Muni had rendered his eleven thousand sons
- Since there are many different karmis, or workers, there may be different judges or rulers to give them justice, but just as one central emperor controls different departmental rulers, there must be one supreme controller to guide all the judges
- Since those who want liberation are impure, what to speak of the karmis, who have so many desires to fulfill
- So far as leaving your karmi job, I have no objection provided there is no scarcity of money for running the temple. Then you can devote yourself full time to pushing on this movement and developing St. Louis center
- So generally the karmis, they want happiness in this life, and if he is intelligent enough, if he believes in the next life, then he makes some provision for next life
- So generally, in the material world two things are going on. The karmis are busy to acquire money for his sense gratification, and the jnanis, they've given up the world as mithya. Brahma satyam jagan mithya: Brahman is truth, and this is all mithya
- So one has to be vipascit, learned, to understand the interest of life, self-interest. Everyone is working, especially the karmis, the jnanis, the yogis, and mixed devotees, they are working for self-interest
- Some (karmis) desire to be elevated to the heavenly planets or to go to Dhruvaloka, and others want to please the demigods to get material profits
- Sometimes the karmis are afraid of this Krsna consciousness movement because they know that as soon as one becomes Krsna conscious, he is no more interested in these material things. Just like we say "Don't eat meat"
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu has said, visayira anna khaile dusta haya mana: (CC Antya 6.278) if a devotee takes alms or food from the house of a karmi who is simply interested in money, his mind will become unclean
- Such a person actually has nothing to do with his material body or the material world. Those who are not in Krsna consciousness are called karmis and jnanis, and they hover on the bodily and mental platforms and thus are not liberated
- Such Brahmins or Brahmacaris or Sannyasis asking contributions is not against the law, actually that is the way of livelihood for persons who are not karmis
- Such people are called karmis, or gross materialists. Among the karmis are some vikarmis, people who act without the guidance of Vedic knowledge
- Such persons (who are determined to commit suicide and those determined to kill cows) may make a show of hearing Srimad-Bhagavatam at a Bhagavata-saptaha, this is but another creation of the karmis, who cannot derive any benefit from such a performance
- Sukadeva Goswami analyzes the situation for the karmis in the narration of Bhagavatam as sleeping and indulging in sex-life in the night & in the daytime working hard "Where is money?" & when they have got money, how to accumulate household paraphernalia

- That point comes, when the karmis become disgusted, confused. Because the spirit soul, he wants spiritual life. He cannot be happy with any amount of materialistic life
- That was the Ramacandra's business, to kill Ravana. Ravana was a very powerful atheist, and he was working with the ten heads. Just like materialistic karmis, they work very hard, and they have got good brain also for working hard. So Ravana had ten heads
- The actual happiness of the karmis is sex life. They work very hard outside the home, and to satiate their hard labor, they come home to enjoy sex life. King Puranjana went to the forest to hunt and after his hard labor he returned home to enjoy sex life
- The associates of Visnu reminded him that not only his forefathers but everyone else before him was unable to attain Visnuloka, the planet where Lord Visnu resides. This is because everyone within this material world is either a karmi, a jnani or a yogi
- The bhakta, is beyond the karmi and the jnani. The karmi has many desires, and the jnani tries to get rid of all desires, but desirelessness can be possible only when we desire to serve Krsna. Otherwise it is not possible to get rid of desires
- The bhogis are the karmis, those who are working very hard to exploit the resources of the material nature, like the scientists, for example, who are doing research to further such exploitation. Their intention, actually, is to steal
- The body of a karmi is called material because the karmi, being too absorbed in material activities, is always eager to enjoy material facilities
- The ceremonial functions performed by the members of the Yadu dynasty externally resembled the ritualistic ceremonies performed by the karmis
- The conclusion is that a devotee, by the grace of the Lord, is liberated in both this life and the next, whereas karmis, jnanis and yogis are never liberated, either in this life or in the next
- The crowlike birds or crowlike men or karmis, they're envious. You'll find. And even, without any offense... Just like dog: You pass on. Without any offense, he'll bark, Ow, ow, ow, ow
- The crying child of the Lord is given over to the reflection, the material world, to lord it over as karmi and to give this up in frustration to become one with the Lord. Both these stages are dreaming illusions only
- The devotees cannot tolerate even the pricking of the Lord's lotus feet by a thorn. This tribulation in the heart of a devotee cannot be understood by karmis, jnanis or yogis
- The devotees in the KC movement are preaching all over the world in accordance with the order of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. They have to meet many karmis, but by the mercy of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, they are unaffected by material influences
- The devotees, the jnanis, who are known as moksa-kama, and the karmis, who are known as sarva-kama, are all aspiring to worship the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Visnu
- The devotees, they work for Super - self-interest. There is self, but it is Super - self-interest. And the karmis, jnanis, yogis, they work for individual self-interest. Self-interest there must be
- The endeavors of karmis are a useless waste of time. One should endeavor to return home, back to Godhead. This is the perfection of life
- The entire world is active, and this includes the karmis, the jnanis, the yogis and the bhaktas. However, all activities except those of the bhaktas, the devotees, end in bafflement and a waste of time and energy
- The jnani, he does not touch anyone's property. That is very good. Then the karmi, because karmi takes other's property and utilizes it for his own purpose. But bhakta is neither karmi nor jnani
- The jnanis, the yogis, or the karmis, they do not want this no attachment. They want more and more attachment
- The jnanis, yogis and karmis are not particularly dear, for the karmis simply want to see the Supreme Personality of Godhead as their order supplier
- The jnanis, yogis and karmis cannot expect this direct cooperation of the Lord. They are not able to satisfy the Lord by transcendental loving service, nor do they believe in such service to the Lord
- The karma-yogis never engage in material activities under the modes of material nature, as the karmis do, but rather perform karma-yoga, which is meant to satisfy Lord Visnu
- The karmi thinks of this world as "mine," and the jnani thinks "I am" everything. The whole material conception of politics, sociology, philanthropy, altruism, etc., conceived by the conditioned souls is on the basis of this misconceived "I" and "mine"
- The karmi's activity is on upadhi. "I am American," "I am Indian," "I am Hindu," "I am Muslim," "I am Christian." With this upadhi, we are acting. But bhakti means without upadhi. Sarvopadhi-virnirmuktam. Activity without upadhi
- The karmi, jnani or yogi - in fact, everyone - worships Lord Visnu if he is actually expert in knowledge of the Vedas and Tantras
- The karmis & the devotees are not on the same level. In whatever condition of life the karmi may be, he continues in the cycle of birth & death because the seed of karma, or fruitive activity, is there, & it fructifies whenever there is an opportunity
- The karmis and jnanis are generally devotees of Lord Siva, but they do not properly understand his real purpose in life. Sometimes so-called devotees of Lord Siva imitate him in using poisonous intoxicants
- The karmis are completely in illusion, the jnanis are neither in illusion nor in positive knowledge, but the yogis, especially the bhakti-yogis, are completely on the spiritual platform
- The karmis are earning money by their business, and it has become a business. Everywhere, religion has become a business
- The karmis are engaged in performing very difficult activities, and thus they open gigantic factories, build huge cities, etc
- The karmis are fond of the conception of "mine," the jnanis are fond of the conception of "I," and both of them are unqualified to be free from the bondage of the illusory energy
- The karmis are fully under the bodily conception of life, and the jnanis, although theoretically understanding that they are not the body, also have no information about the lotus feet of the Lord because they overly stress impersonalism
- The karmis are generally engaged in fruitive activities for material bodily comforts. The jnanis, however, are disgusted with searching after material comforts. They understand that they have nothing to do with this material world, being spirit souls
- The karmis are more or less devoid of atma-tattva knowledge, and as such, their life is spent without spiritual profit
- The karmis are very much attached to material enjoyment, the jnanis are very anxious to become freed from material clutches, and the yogis are very fond of attaining the eight kinds of mystic perfection
- The karmis benefits are temporary and those who are seeking after such benefits are mudhas
- The karmis do not practice brahmacarya, vanaprastha or sannyasa life, for they are very much interested in grhastha life
- The karmis have no end to their desires. "Bring money, bring money, bring money, bring money." You have seen. You have got good experience in your country. Millionaires, multi-millionaires, still working hard
- The karmis or fruitive laborers are working with heart and soul, day and night, to extinguish this fire or to diminish the miserable condition of material existence by dint of hard labor
- The karmis should not be given so much that there is waste. You can give them a little, and then if they like you can give them more. This system should be introduced everywhere. I have seen myself that so much prasada is being left. This is not good
- The karmis sometimes offer the results of their activities to Lord Vasudeva, and this offering is called karmarpanam. These are considered to be fruitive activities, for the karmis consider Visnu to be one of the demigods like Lord Siva and Lord Brahma
- The karmis think that the resources of the world, that is given by nature for our enjoyment. This is the modern theory of economic development. Everyone is thinking like that, that by nature we have got the gold mine, so we shall take it & use it & enjoy
- The karmis think the other statuses of life are worse than animal life, for animals also have sex, whereas the brahmacari, vanaprastha and sannyasi completely give up sex. The karmis, therefore, abhor these orders of spiritual life
- The karmis transmigrate through different bodies in the cycle of birth and death, sometimes going upward and sometimes downward, thus suffering the results of their actions in the karma-cakra, the cycle of birth and death
- The karmis try to receive the favor and mercy of Laksmi, but because they are not devotees of Narayana, their opulence is flickering
- The karmis try to utilize the resources of material nature and thus become its lord and enjoy sense gratification
- The karmis view the formalities as a means of advancing in religion, economic development, sensual satisfaction and liberation. Although these are only material results of following religious principles, the karmis consider them everything
- The karmis want to use the property of the Lord for their selfish sense gratification, but a devotee endeavors to use the Lord's property for God's service
- The karmis will say: "Let us act nicely," I mean to say: "virtuously. We are karmis. So God must give us the result." This is called karma-mimamsa
- The karmis work hard day and night for some bodily comfort, and the jnanis simply speculate about how to get out of the entanglement of karma and merge into the Brahman effulgence
- The karmis, he should think that, "I'll live forever." Otherwise he cannot work. He cannot. Unless he is put into this ignorance that he'll never die, he cannot work
- The karmis, however, or jnanis or yogis endeavor always for their own personal happiness
- The karmis, in order to achieve success within this material world, worship the various demigods
- The karmis, jnanis and yogis have their particular mentalities in the modes of nature, and therefore they are called itara or nondevotees. These itaras, including even the yogis, sometimes harass the devotees of the Lord
- The karmis, jnanis, and yogis, as well as the common politicians and anyone else who is working hard to make a comfortable and peaceful situation in this material world, must clearly realize that the world is transitory and full of misery
- The karmis, jnanis, yogis - everyone is in want. They cannot be happy. And when you come to the position, "My Lord, I do not want anything. Simply I want to serve You. Give me this opportunity," that is perfection
- The karmis, jnanis, yogis, they are in want. The karmis, they simply want material happiness. "I want this, I want this, I want this, I want this." The whole world is rolling. Modern material civilization means to create wants. That is karmi
- The karmis, or fruitive workers, can elevate themselves to the Svargaloka planets, which include the sun and the moon. Jnanis and yogis can attain still higher planets, such as Maharloka, Tapoloka and Brahmaloka
- The karmis, the gross fruitive workers, do not understand the distinction between the body and the soul. Out of many millions of karmis, there may be one jnani, one wise man who can understand
- The karmis, the rascals, he knows also that he will die - at least, theoretically accept - but he wants to enjoy, since the death does not come, to the fullest extent. That is the present condition of the society
- The karmis, they . . . karmis, real karmis, they do not forget. The upstarts, the rascals, they forget. Karmis also . . . just like they go to church or to go to temple, they ask some favor from God
- The karmis, they are more and more becoming entangled: "Give me this, give me that, give me that"; ultimately, "Give me the post of Brahma," "Give me the post of Indra." So their business is simply "give me"
- The karmis, they are taking care of themselves. But the devotees, they are taken care of by the Supreme. That is difference
- The karmis, they are working, accumulating bank balance, more, more, more, more, more, more, but forgetting the real mission of life. Therefore ass. Ass means fool
- The karmis, under the direction of Vedic instructions, try to elevate themselves to higher planetary systems. The jnanis try to merge into the existence of Brahman, the impersonal feature of the Lord
- The karmis, who are much attracted by the fruitive activities of the Vedic rituals, are called bhukti-kami, or those who desire material enjoyment
- The Krsna consciousness movement is not very popular with the karmis because this movement recommends that one refrain from illicit sex, meat-eating, gambling and intoxication. These are restrictions that karmis very much dislike
- The Lord says in BG 4.11: Everyone follows My path in all respects, O son of Prtha. One may be a karmi, a jnani, a yogi and then a bhakta or prema-bhakta. But the ultimate stage of realization is prema-bhakti, as actually demonstrated by mother Yasoda
- The material success of the karmis is destined to be destroyed; similarly, the impersonal realization attained by the jnanis is also destroyed in the course of time

- Yajno danam tapas caiva pavanani manisinam (BG 18.5): even one who is very much advanced in spiritual realization must still execute the Vedic principles. Even in the lowest stage, the karmis are advised to work for the sake of the Lord
- You (Visnudutas) are sinless, but those within this material world are all karmis, whether acting piously or impiously. Both kinds of action are possible for them because they are contaminated by the three modes of nature and must act accordingly
- You can see in my example, not a single moment is wasted. This idleness is the business of the karmis
