- A guru is necessary. Like Arjuna, everyone is perplexed about his best course of action. Nobody can decide by himself
- Actually Arjuna is asking a very appropriate and intelligent question. It is not unusual for one to fall down from the platform of devotional service

- Arjuna is perplexed, and now he wants a definite answer. This is the inquiry about transcendental subject matter. So every human being has to inquire. The inquiry must be there
- Arjuna is representing the perplexed position of the materialistic person. So under the circumstances, a guru is required to give us real direction

- Because Arjuna is above such darkness (of ignorance), the Personality of Godhead agrees to describe His various opulences. BG 1972 purports

- Because of his (Arjuna) possessing spiritual assets, the doubts of duality were completely cut off
- Because we are engaged in warfare with the forces of Maya, there will be casualties. Even Arjuna's son, Abhimanyu a 16-year-old boy was killed at the battle of Kuruksetra
- Because we are simply order-carrier. Just like Arjuna. Arjuna was posing himself by his family relationship that he's very perfect, nonviolent gentleman. But Krsna induced him to fight, to kill the other party

- Bharadvaja: He is one of the seven great rsis and was present at the time of the birth ceremony of Arjuna. The powerful rsi sometimes undertook severe penances on the shore of the Ganges, and his asrama is still celebrated at Prayagadhama

- Caturbhuja (the four-armed one), or the Personality of Godhead, after hearing the words of Bhima, Draupadi and others, saw the face of His dear friend Arjuna, and He began to speak as if smiling
- Citizens were to pay one fourth of their income to the ruler, whether he be Arjuna or Duryodhana

- Discrepancies are sometimes causes of despondency, and thus failing, a person becomes subjected to criticism, which might also be the cause of Arjuna's plight
- Do those who do not follow the rules and regulations of the scriptures but who have faith in something and worship gods and demigods and men attain success in their effort? Arjuna is putting these questions to Krsna. BG 1972 purports
- Don't be proud, "Because I am man, I don't require protection." Here it is said, Krsna said, er, Arjuna said, purusottamena so 'ham rahitah: "Now I have no protection." Arjuna was so great hero. Still, he required protection
- Draupadi said, "If Asvatthama dies, then Dronacarya's wife, our mother guru, will be very much unhappy. So release him and let him go away." Thus Arjuna freed Asvatthama
- Duryodhana criticized Bhismadeva, alleging that he was reluctant to kill Arjuna because of paternal affection
- Duryodhana received him (Arjuna) as his brother - My dear brother, you have come? What do you want? You want the kingdom without fighting? Therefore you have come? I can give you. I can stop this fighting if you want without fighting
- Duryodhana said to Dronacarya: Here in this army (of the Kurus) are many heroic bowmen equal in fighting to Bhima and Arjuna: great fighters like Yuyudhana, Virata and Drupada
- Duryodhana thought that, "I shall take Krsna's soldiers," and Arjuna thought, "I shall take Krsna only, even He does not fight." So this is the determination of mahatmas, that they want simply Krsna's friendship
- Duryodhana wanted to point out that he (Dronacarya) should not be lenient in battle against the Pandavas, who were also Dronacarya's affectionate students. Arjuna, especially, was his most affectionate and brilliant student. BG 1972 purports

- Ekadasi is meant for fasting, either Bhima or Arjuna. But we cannot fast, therefore we have to take little fruits
- Engage your mind always in thinking of Me, offer obeisances and worship Me. Being completely absorbed in Me, surely you will come to Me. BG 9.34 - 1972
- Even if a man has faith and strives for perfection in the yoga system, Arjuna points out that he may not attain this perfection due to - worldly-mindedness
- Even if you are considered to be the most sinful of all sinners, when you are situated in the boat of transcendental knowledge, you will be able to cross over the ocean of miseries. BG 4.36 - 1972

- Kasyapa begot many children, both demigods & demons, by those wives. From his first wife, Aditi, all the twelve Adityas were born; one of them is Vamana, the incarnation of Godhead. This great sage, Kasyapa, was also present at the time of Arjuna's birth
- King Pariksit was very eager to learn how his grandfather kidnapped and married his grandmother
- Krsna explains: They (Krsna, Arjuna and all other living entities) were individuals in the past, they are now situated in individuality, and in the future they will all continue to maintain their individual forms

- One who knows the transcendental nature of My (Krsna) appearance and activities does not, upon leaving the body, take his birth again in this material world, but attains My eternal abode, O Arjuna

- We can only see the gross material body, and when this gross material body ends, we say that everything is finished. In order to understand these things, we have to approach a guru, just as Arjuna approached Sri Krsna
