- A brahmacari practices celibacy, controlling his sex life. One cannot enjoy unrestricted sex life and practice yoga; this is rascaldom

- Complete practice of yoga means
- Complete practice of yoga means bhakti-yoga; unless one comes to the point of bhakti-yoga, or surrender unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead, one's yoga practice is not complete. This same point is corroborated in the Srimad Bhagavad-gita
- Concentrating the mind on Krsna, even by vibration, because there is no difference of identity between the vibration of the name of Krsna and Krsna, therefore this is the highest form of yoga practice. And life dedicated for Krsna's service
- Cultivation of speculative knowledge or practice of yogic gymnastics will not be helpful - for the living entity to be awakened to his own identity

- Despite all the allurement of yoga practice, the eight kinds of yogic perfections are hardly achievable by the common man. But here it is described that the Lord, who appeared before the four sages, is Himself full of all eight of those perfections
- Devahuti proposed to her father, - My dear father, I wish to marry the Kardama Muni. He is practicing yoga in such and such place. If you will take me there, then I shall be very pleased
- Devotion to God is considered to be the great practical value, as much as it forms a part of practice of yoga. Those who are practicing yoga, they must be devotee of God
- Dhiras tatra na muhyati. That is yoga practice. That is yoga practice, controlling. "When there will be need, I shall use it"

- Even great saintly persons like Sanandana-Sanandana, Sanaka, Sanatana and Sanat-kumara - practiced the yoga system for many, many births and remained in trance before getting the opportunity to see the Supreme Lord face to face
- Even Visvamitra, a great sage and perfect yogi, was misled by Menaka into sex enjoyment, although the yogi was endeavoring for sense control with severe types of penance and yoga practice. BG 1972 purports

- First of all thing is the, what is the aim of practicing yoga? So to achieve that end, that purpose, you have to control the mind, because mind is very flickering, going here, there, there, there
- First one must be able to sit properly, and then the mind and attention will become steady enough for practicing yoga. Gradually, one must control circulation of vital air, and with such control he will be able to withdraw the senses from sense objects
- Five thousand years ago Lord Krsna recommended yoga practice to Arjuna, but Arjuna frankly expressed his inability to follow the stringent rules and regulations of the yoga system
- Foolish persons may even make a show of so-called yoga, but they are unable to control the senses and mind, which is the real purpose of yoga practice. Such people can have no opulence in their lives. In a word, they are very unfortunate
- For a pure devotee who does not practice yoga, the mind should always be engaged in Krsna consciousness so that at death he can remember the Supreme by His grace. This is explained in verse fourteen (of BG). BG 1972 purports
- For a pure devotee, there is no scope for indulgence in mystic yoga practice or the cultivation of speculative philosophy. It is indeed impossible for a pure devotee to engage his mind in such unwanted activities
- For example, the cowherd boys who are playing with Krsna do not have to learn by austerities or penances or yogic practice how to play with Him

- From the Narada-pancaratra we understand that if one attains the stage of pure devotional service, he also attains all the opulences derived from fruitive activities, empiric philosophical speculation and mystic yogic practice

- Generally they are attracted by the bodily exercises only, haphazardly. And they take it as yoga practice. And others, they are addicted to sex indulgence and intoxication habit
- Generally yoga is practiced to acquire some material profit. There are eight kinds of yogic perfection (siddhis): anima, laghima, prapti, isitva, vasitva, mahima, prakamya and kamavasayita
- Generally, they practice hatha-yoga, and they're satisfied only by getting into practice the system of asana. That's all. But there are many other steps: yama, niyama, asana, pranayama, dhyana, dharana, pratyahara, samadhi
- Give me sole lordship over all the living entities and presiding deities, and give me all the glories obtained by that position. Furthermore, give me all the mystic powers attained by long austerities and the practice of yoga
- God decorated as described in this chapter (SB 3.15) as He appeared before the four sages (Kumaras). This Narayana form is Krsna's expansion; therefore the Krsna consciousness movement which is now spreading is the real, topmost process of yoga practice

- Hatha-yoga is not practiced in assembly of so many men. Just you go to a hatha-yoga class. There are hundreds of members practicing, and he is collecting money, five dollars per seat. And you are thinking, "I am practicing." That is useless waste of time
- Hatha-yoga practice, dhyana-yoga practice, karma-yoga practice, jnana-yoga practice - these are very difficult in this age. But if you take to bhakti-yoga practice . . . it is recommended, sravanam kirtanam
- He (a devotee) loses all interest in so-called meditation, yoga practice and mental speculation
- He (a Krsna counscious person) endures all such incidental occurences because he knows that they come and go and do not affect his duties. In this way he achieves the highest perfection in yoga practice. BG 1972 purports

- Here two points are very significant. The first is that Kardama Muni attained success by yoga practice in the beginning of Satya-yuga, when people used to live for one hundred thousand years
- How can service to the Absolute Truth be executed? Yamena niyamena ca: the practice of yoga, or linking with the supreme, is based on the principles of regulation and control
- How can those who are like animals in the bodily concept of life, and who have no purity of consciousness, practice yoga
- How many men can actually practice yoga? It is all farce. This is possible. Even a child can take part, Hare Krsna mantra

- I say the real yogis, they do not come out. Because that will fail. It is clearly stated that he must live in a secluded place alone. Then yoga practice perfection is possible
- If one becomes perfect in the practice of yoga, he can live as long as he likes
- If one is fortunate enough to get the association of a pure devotee, he can easily surpass all the practices for controlling the mind by the mystic yoga process simply by following the regulative principles of Krsna consciousness
- If one wants to meditate upon something void or impersonal, it will take a very long time before he achieves success in yoga practice. We cannot concentrate our mind on something void or impersonal
- If the pretentious nondevotee sentimentalists, who like to imitate the empiricists, practice genuine jnana-yoga, then they too will gain an accurate perspective on the Absolute Truth
- If there is no control of mind and no control of senses, the so-called yoga practice is bogus. It has no meaning. Yoga indriya samyama. Yoga means to control the senses. That is the real meaning of yoga
- If you are practicing yoga, we should recommend that you think of Krsna within your heart. That will help you. That is our advice. But if you think something else, that is your business
- If you want to learn Krsna, if you want to know Krsna, then you have to take this process, mayy asakta-manah partha yogam. And if you practice this yoga, krsna-yoga, or bhakti-yoga, then you become the topmost of all yogis
- In all the standard scriptures and in yoga practice formula, the whole aim is to concentrate one's mind in the Supreme Personality of Godhead. That is called samadhi, samadhi, ecstasy. So that ecstasy is immediately brought by this chanting process
- In BG the word asamsaya is used to describe the devotee. There God Himself gives this instruction: Now hear, O son of Prtha (Arjuna), how by practicing yoga in full consciousness of Me, with mind attached to Me, you can know Me in full, free from doubt

- This is our disease: when we go to a svami, or a temple or a church, our hearts are filled with material desires. Wanting some material profit out of spiritual life, we practice yoga just to keep our health fit
