- A devotee is in a transcendental position because he is no longer under the control of the three material modes of nature - goodness, passion, and ignorance

- In this verse (BG 18.19), the Lord wishes to speak about the different types of knowledge, workers, and work itself according to the three material modes. BG 1972 purports

- Unless one receives transcendental knowledge in disciplic succession, there is no question of his becoming purified of this contamination which is created in the heart by the three modes of material nature
