- One (stage of effect of fruitive activities) is called bija (the root), another is called kuta-stha (the desire), and another is called phalonmukha (about to fructify). The manifest stage is called prarabdha (already in action)
- One after another he (the devotee who reaches Satyaloka) gradually attains stages of existence from earthly to watery, fiery, glowing and airy, until he reaches the ethereal stage
- One attains the purest stage of equal vision when one ceases to take into consideration the outer covering of the soul, the body, but rather is established in the soul's innate nature of serving the Lord
- One attains the supreme stage of Brahman simply by renouncing the result of his work for the satisfaction of the Supreme Lord. That is the process of self-realization. BG 1972 purports
- One can attain the perfect stage of liberation from birth and death simply by knowing the Lord, the SPG. There is no alternative because anyone who does not understand Lord Krsna as the SPG is surely in the mode of ignorance. BG 1972 purports
- One can attain this stage (when both husband and wife follow the regulative principles of austerity and are not agitated by sex impulses) of life by completely giving up a luxurious mode of life
- One can attain this stage of perfection (no birth, old age, disease and death) very easily by his individual effort. He can simply follow, in his own home, the prescribed method of bhakti-yoga. This method, under proper guidance, is simple and enjoyable
- One cannot reach the eternal abode of the Lord without being free from the misconception of material identification, and the Bhagavad-gita gives us the clue how to achieve this stage of perfection
- One cannot understand the science of the Personality of Godhead unless one is freed from the contamination of the material modes, even up to the stage of a brahmana
- One has to transcend all this (fruitive activities and search after mundane knowledge) before one can come to the stage of pure devotional service. BG 1972 purports
- One may not fully discharge the injunctions of the Lord, but because one is not resentful of this principle and works sincerely without consideration of defeat and hopelessness, he will surely be promoted to the stage of pure KC. BG 1972 purports
- One must acquire brahminical qualities or be perfectly situated in the quality of goodness in order to chant the Gayatri mantra successfully and then attain to the stage of transcendentally realizing the Lord, His name, His fame, His qualities and so on
- One must promote himself to the stage of goodness through his character and behavior and then gradually come to the transcendental platform, or adhoksaja platform, in which he realizes both his position and the position of others
- One need not struggle through the different Vedic stages of realization, for one can be lifted to the position of paramahamsa simply by agreeing to hear the message of Srimad-Bhagavatam with patience
- One reaches the stage of astonishment (vaicitri), which awakens transcendental madness. Udghurna and citra-jalpa are two among the many divisions of transcendental madness
- One should be situated in the transcendental position, beyond the stages of material consciousness, and should be aloof from all other conceptions of life. Thus realizing freedom from false ego, one should see his own self
- One should culture knowledge in the following way: One should search out a bona fide spiritual master who can lead him gradually to the stage of spiritual realization, and one must submit himself to such a spiritual master
- One should engage in the service of the Lord twenty-four hours a day, as confirmed in the Brahma-samhita. The stage of premanjana-cchurita can be attained by developing complete love
- One should first approach Lord Caitanya and Nityananda, or worship Guru-Gauranga, and then come to the stage of worshiping Radha-Krsna
- One should not be disturbed by the action and reaction of these eight gross and subtle material elements. The practical process to attain this stage of indifference is to execute devotional service
- One should not consider these transactions of transcendental service to be untruthful accusations. One should never accuse such devotees of being ordinary boys speaking lies, for they attained this stage of associating with Krsna by great austerities
- One should not pose himself as transcending the stage of temple worship while one is actually in the category of the sudras and the women or less
- One who attains his particular relationship with the SPG should be known to be in the best relationship for him, but when these transcendental relationships are studied, it can be seen that the neutral stage of realization (brahma-bhuta) is the first
- One who is attracted by the material quality of darkness is in the lowest stage of life, whereas one who is attracted by the material quality of goodness is in a better position
- One who is not affected by the three modes of material nature is called a liberated soul, or brahma-bhuta soul (SB 4.30.20). Brahma-bhutah prasannatma (BG 18.54) is the stage of liberation
- One who is sufficiently intelligent immediately attains the stage of renunciation of so-called society, family and love as well as other things
- One who reaches an intermediate stage but does not make any substantial progress beyond it, merely remaining satisfied with that particular stage of his development, may be called by that particular name, as, for instance, karma-yogi, jnana-yogi
- One's real desire should only be to achieve the stage of loving transcendental service to the Lord
- Only advanced devotees performing religious ritualistic performances can come to this stage of dharma-vira
- Only after the stage of liberation from material contamination can one actually aspire to follow in the footsteps of the devotees in Vrndavana
- Only one who renders devotional service to the Lord can attain this stage of indifference to the false and temporary assets of material nature
- Only when one has attained proper knowledge can he actually be liberated. The stage of liberation is also called the brahma-bhutah stage
- Other method involves renouncing the fruits of one's activities. Then one can come to the stage of knowledge, then to the stage of meditation, then to the stage of understanding the Supersoul, and then to the stage of the SPG. BG 1972 purports
- Out of these (5 stages of Brahman realization) the first 3-annamaya, pranamaya, & jnanamaya-involve the fields of activities of the living entities. Transcendental to all these fields is the Supreme Lord, who is called anandamaya. BG 1972 purports
P

- Pure devotional service, and the mature stage of Visnu worship is suggested herein (SB 2.3.24) in relation to the change of heart
R
- Real knowledge culminates in Krsna consciousness, the highest stage of transcendental knowledge. Without the elevation of knowledge, sacrifices are simply material activities. BG 1972 purports
- Real peace can be obtained only in that transcendental stage of existence. That is the state of real contentment
- Regarding your question about annamoya, pranamoya, etc. Yes, they are different stages of consciousness. Different living beings are situated in different consciousness

S
- Samadhi, trance, can be possible in five different ways in terms of one's relationship. Specifically, the trance of devotees on the stage of neutrality is called mental concentration
- Satisfaction is the beginning of transcendental bliss. One should progress by attaining neutrality and equality in the relative world. And passing this stage of equanimity, one is fixed in the transcendental loving service of the Lord
- Sattva-guna is the stage of brahmana, rajo-guna is the stage of ksatriya, and tamo-guna is the stage of sudra, and mixed together is the stage of vaisya. Vaisya has mixed quality; and pure sattva-guna, brahmana; pure rajo-guna, ksatriya
- Simple attainment of goodness is also a material mode; one has to surpass this stage of material goodness and reach the point of purified goodness, or vasudeva-sattva. This vasudeva-sattva helps one to enter into the kingdom of God
- Since the potent and potencies are identical, even the conception of His impersonal cosmic feature helps the conditioned soul to associate with the Lord indirectly and thus gradually rise to the stage of personal contact
- Sinful man to the stage of loving service
- So the stage of Sukadeva Gosvami is atma-rati, self-satisfied, doesn't care for anything of the world. He is aloof from the world. We should not imitate Sukadeva Gosvami and become naked
- Some of the liberated persons who have achieved these four stages of liberation may also develop affection for Krsna and be promoted to the Goloka Vrndavana planet in the spiritual sky
- Sometimes we had been a hog or a dog or something like that. Now we have come to this stage of life, this life should not be spoiled like the cats, dogs and hogs. But we should have some restraint and realize ourself
- Spiritual energy is prominent everywhere, in this material world and the spiritual world. Here also, the matter is developing upon spirit, not that spirit is manifesting under certain conditional stage of matter. That is a wrong theory
- Sri Ramananda Raya and Srila Narottama dasa Thakura actually achieved the most elevated stage of the renounced order
- Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura states that the spiritual mellow can be realized only when one is situated on the transcendental platform beyond the material stage of goodness. That platform is called visuddha-sattva
- Srila Haridasa explained that just as fear of nocturnal creatures like thieves, ghosts, and hobgoblins evaporates at dawn's first light, so all sins and offences are erased and liberation is attained in the clearing stage of chanting the holy name
- Srimad-Bhagavatam trains the conditioned soul to this stage of perfection by submissive hearing from the pure devotee
- Stage of kevala

- Such a purificatory process (cooperating with devotees who are already engaged in devotional service) will establish the prospective candidate in firm faith and gradually elevate him to the stage of transcendental taste for such devotional service
- Such activities (jnana and yoga) help one to reach the stage of bhakti-yoga after many, many years
- Sukadeva Gosvami was already at the liberated stage of transcendence
- Sunyayitam jagat sarvam govinda virahena me: "I see everything vacant without Govinda." That is the supreme stage of love. Is that clear or not
T
- That intelligence can be found, even birds, beasts, everywhere. Real intelligence is how to regain your Krsna consciousness and be promoted to the stage of bhava, and at the time of death maintain that bhava, and then your life is successful
- That is the stage of real happiness - constant engagement for Krsna and spreading Krsna consciousness around the world
- The activities on the path of apavarga up to the stages of dharma, artha and kama are meant for sense gratification
- The Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu mentions eight kinds of transcendental transformations in the bodies of advanced devotees. These are sometimes checked by the devotee, and there are two stages of such checking, technically known as dhumayita and jvalita
- The body is born and is destined to be vanquished today or tomorrow. Therefore the body is not as important as the soul. One who knows this is actually learned. For him there is no cause for lamentation in any stage of the material body
- The boys said, "We can take your food at the present stage of your ceremony, for now it will not be prohibited. So you can deliver us the food"
- The cheap reciters of the Bhagavatam are very much enthusiastic about the Lord's internal potential activities, and the pseudodevotees, absorbed in material sense enjoyment, falsely jump to the stage of liberated souls and thus fall down
- The concrete example is Narada Himself, who attained this stage of eternal knowledge and eternal bliss. And the ways and means are open to all, provided one agrees to follow in the footsteps of Sri Narada Muni
- The culmination of the knowledge of Bhagavad-gita is God realization, and when one attains this stage of God realization, he naturally, voluntarily becomes a devotee of the Lord to render Him loving transcendental service
- The demigods, even to the stage of Brahma, the supreme of all the demigods, cannot offer liberation to anyone
- The difficulty is that we cannot come to the pure stage of chanting Hare Krsna mantra. Due to our past habits our mind is disturbed. We cannot concentrate. Therefore we have fixed up the minimum
- The embryo covered by the womb is an analogy illustrating a helpless position, for the child in the womb is so helpless that he cannot even move. This stage of living condition can be compared to that of the trees. BG 1972 purports
- The enlightened transcendentalist is not captivated by such illusory things (demigod worship) ; therefore he is always absorbed in the transcendental thought of the Supreme in different stages of realization, namely Brahman, Paramatma and Bhagavan
- The first item, hearing, is the most important item of all, and therefore hearing of the Bhagavad-gita and, later on, Srimad-Bhagavatam is essential for the serious candidate who wants to attain the stage of Bhismadeva at the end
- The first status, the first stage of realization, is ceto-darpana-marjanam, cleansing the heart. At the present moment my heart is not cleansed
- The formal processes are necessary for those who are expected to reach the stage of complete liberation, but Sri Sukadeva Gosvami was already in that status by the grace of his father
- The four stages of advancement of human civilization are religiosity, economic development, sense gratification and, for some, the stage of liberation
- The friendship, then maternal love, and further, offering everything for the lover. That is most perfectional stage of love. So in this way we have got five kinds of direct relationship
- The fully satisfied living entity becomes situated in the supreme stage of satisfaction, so that he ceases from all other activities
- The gopis provide the highest example of such unalloyed love of Godhead, and Lord Caitanya at the ultimate stage of realization displayed the viraha worship in the mood of the gopis
- The great mystic Visvamitra Muni, even in the stage of samadhi, became a victim of the senses and cohabited with Menaka. History has already recorded this
- The human life is especially meant for purifying one's existence, and one who does not follow the rules and regulations cannot purify himself, nor can he attain the real stage of happiness. BG 1972 purports

- The Krsna consciousness movement is progressing successfully in the Western countries at the present moment because the youth in the West have reached the stage of vairagya, or renunciation. They are practically disgusted with material pleasure
- The Krsna consciousness movement is teaching people how to come to the stage of dedicating everything to the service of the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- The living being cannot be supremely conscious at any stage of his perfection, and the theory that he can be so is a misleading theory. Conscious he may be, but he is not perfectly or supremely conscious. BG 1972 Introduction
- The Lord appears as the son of His devotee by His param bhavam. The word bhava refers to the stage of pure love, which has nothing to do with material transactions
- The Lord appears in different incarnations - as a fish, tortoise and boar, as Parasurama, Lord Rama, Buddha and so on - to reciprocate the different appreciations of living entities in different stages of evolution
- The Lord says in BG 4.11: Everyone follows My path in all respects, O son of Prtha. One may be a karmi, a jnani, a yogi and then a bhakta or prema-bhakta. But the ultimate stage of realization is prema-bhakti, as actually demonstrated by mother Yasoda
- The material ingredients are a manifestation of maya as pradhana. In other words, when the three qualities of maya are in a dormant stage, they exist as prakrti, avyakta or pradhana
- The Mayavadis, who hold the view that Absolute is impersonal and formless, contend that a realized soul has no need to talk. But the Vaisnavas, devotees of Krsna, contend that when one reaches the stage of realization, he really begins to talk - CC Intro
- The members of the KC movement, being engaged in vasudeva-bhakti, very quickly come to the stage of being nice Vaisnavas, so much so that people are surprised that mlecchas and yavanas are able to come to this stage. This is possible by vasudeva-bhakti
- The message should be heard attentively, and if spoken by a realized soul, it will act on the dormant heart of the conditioned soul. And by continuously hearing, one can attain the perfect stage of self-realization
- The mode of goodness, or the brahminical culture recommended in the Vedic literatures, is helpful to spiritual realization, the jnana-sakti stage of the conditioned soul is comparatively better than the other two stages, namely dravya-sakti & kriya-sakti
- The next and supreme stage is anandamaya, realization of the all-blissful nature. Thus there are five stages of Brahman realization, which is called brahma puccham. BG 1972 purports
- The next stage (of understanding prema, love of God) is called anartha-nivrtti, in which all the misgivings of material life are vanquished
- The next stage is the grhastha-asrama, in which the man is trained to enter into the Transcendence. Then comes the vanaprastha-asrama, the preliminary stage of renounced life
- The paramahamsa stage of existence is the highest perfectional stage of spiritual values. According to Srimati Kuntidevi, the Lord is factually understood by the paramahamsas only
- The people in general are extremely busy in the affairs of the material body and mind. Those who are in the lowest stage of such mundane activities very rarely can understand the activities of the spiritual plane
- The personified vedas continued, "The perfection of human life is based on knowledge and renunciation, but it is very difficult to attempt to reach the stage of knowledge and renunciation while in family life"
- The point is that we have to follow the instructions with faith. Then wisdom will come. When we attain to the stage of wisdom, the result is param santim - supreme peace
- The position of a living entity is to render service; unless he comes to the stage of appreciating the Supreme Personality of Godhead, he engages in the service of the various forms of trees, reptiles, animals, Men, demigods, etc
- The process is that we cannot understand God or we cannot see God unless He reveals. So this revelation will come if we submissively hear. We may not understand, but simply by hearing, we can achieve that stage of life
- The process of devotional activities from the beginning to the stage of transcendence is all duly explained to satisfy the inquiries of Vyasadeva
- The purified stage of acquiring knowledge becomes the basis of devotional service to the Lord
- The purifying process begins from the stage of being liberated from the conception of different designations
- The sannyasa stage is the preparatory stage of paramahamsa, or the first-grade devotee of the Lord
- The second stage of perfection is to become materially rich. The third stage of material perfection is the attainment of complete sense enjoyment
- The simple process of offenselessly chanting and hearing the holy name of the Lord will gradually promote one very soon to the stage of emancipation
- The stage of awareness of Krsna can be attained when one is advanced in Krsna consciousness. Then one can understand that Krsna is present in the Deity, in Bhagavad-gita, in the taste of water, in the sunshine, in the moonshine and in all sound
- The stage of pure devotion is attained by sincerely serving a pure devotee of the Lord
- The stage of self-realization is called yoga-nidra. All material activities appear to be a dream when one is spiritually awakened. Thus yoga-nidra may be explained to be Yogamaya
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: The unmanifested eternal combination of the three modes is the cause of the manifest state and is called pradhana. It is called prakrti when in the manifested stage of existence
- The transcendental stage is called suddha-sattva. Sattva-guna is goodness, and the platform where the other qualities cannot contaminate even the quality of goodness, that is the stage of devotion
- The two stages of executing devotional service are, 1) first, the stage of practicing devotional service with our present senses under the regulations of the recognized scriptures
- The ultimate point is to come to the stage of loving Krsna and all other indirect processes are subsidiary
- The unconscious sleeping stage of the living entity just after the partial or total dissolution of the creation is wrongly accepted as the final stage of life by some less intelligent philosophers
- The understanding of the effulgent rays of the body of the Supreme Godhead is not the perfect stage of brahma-siddhi, or Brahman realization. Nor is the realization of the Paramatma feature of the Supreme Person perfect
- The Vaisnavas, who are devotees of Krsna, contend that when one reaches the stage of realization, he really begins to talk. "Previously we only talked of nonsense," the Vaisnava says. "Now let us begin our real talks, talks of Krsna"
- The verdict of the Vedic scriptures is that no one becomes a brahmana or a mleccha simply by birth; by birth everyone is accepted as a sudra. One has to elevate himself by the purificatory process to the stage of brahminical life
- The wheel of repeated birth and death is created by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, but to direct the bewildered living entity in progress toward liberation according to varied stages of advancement, different directions are given in the Vedas
- The word avadhuta means "most free." A person is not under the rules and regulations of any injunction when he has attained the stage of avadhuta. In other words, he can act as he likes
- Then to the stage of liberation, and finally, after liberation, to the understanding of what Krsna is. This process is also indicated in Bhagavad-gita - 18.54
- There are different stages of a pure devotee's promotion to conjugal love in the service of Radha and Krsna in an intimate relationship with Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu
- There are different stages of dormant reactions to sinful activities to be observed in a sinful life
- There are different stages of loving platform, and when you love Krsna as Radharani did . . . that is not possible, but that is the aim, and that is the highest perfection
- There are different stages of perfection according to different persons' objectives. Generally people are karmis, for they engage in activities of sense gratification
- There are different stages of spiritual development in matter. In the material world the spiritual sparks of the PG are covered by the material energy in different proportions, and gradually they become spiritualized in various species of life
- There are false ego, intelligence & the unmanifested stage of 3 modes of nature. Then there are 5 senses for acquiring knowledge: the eyes, ears, nose, tongue and touch. Then 5 working senses: voice, legs, hands, the anus & the genitals. BG 1972 purports
- There are five different stages of liberation. BG 1972 purports
- There are five stages of liberation, 1) to become one with the Lord, 2) to live on the same planet as the Lord, 3) to obtain the same bodily features as the Lord, 4) to have the same opulences as the Lord and 5) to have constant association with the Lord
- There are four stages of the renounced order of life - kuticaka, bahudaka, parivrajakacarya and paramahamsa. Herein (in SB 7.13.9), Srimad-Bhagavatam considers the paramahamsas among the sannyasis
- There are many stages of reaction: reaction in the making, reaction fructifying, reaction already achieved, and reaction a priori. But knowledge of the constitutional position of the living entity burns everything to ashes. BG 1972 purports
- There are nine alternative transcendental means of attaining the stage (of personal attachment to Krsna, with a resulting effect of detachment from anything "non-Krsna"): (1) hearing, (2) chanting, (3) remembering, (4) serving the lotus feet of the Lord
- There are nine alternative transcendental means of attaining the stage (of personal attachment to Krsna, with a resulting effect of detachment from anything "non-Krsna"): (5) worshiping, (6) praying, (7) assisting
- There are nine alternative transcendental means of attaining the stage (of personal attachment to Krsna, with a resulting effect of detachment from anything "non-Krsna"): (8) fraternizing with the Lord, and (9) sacrificing everything for Him
- There are sixty-four categories of devotional service by performance of which one can rise to the gopis' stage of unconditional devotion. Affection for Krsna on the level of the gopis is called raganuga, spontaneous love
- There are stages of devotees. So gopis are the topmost, and amongst the gopis, Srimati Radharani is the topmost. Therefore there is no comparison of Radharani's love for Krsna
- There are two stages of God realization. One is called sujneyam, or very easily understood (generally by mental speculation), and the other is called durjneyam, understood only with difficulty
- There is another statement as follows, "When shall I be freed from the mode of ignorance? And being thus purified, when shall I attain the stage of serving Krsna eternally"
- There is no dearth of all these things in this movement. We are not sentimental at all. Of course, there must be sentiment. Without sentiment, nobody can come to the stage of ecstasy
- These are practical examples of how one can develop to the stage of ecstatic love simply by the association of pure devotees
- These voidists and impersonalists take to different types of austerities, either to attain the stage of nirvana, which means finishing the material conditions of life, or to attain oneness by merging into the body of the Lord
- They (Devotees of God) are situated always on the transcendental platform of the brahma-bhuta (SB 4.30.20) stage of self-realization
- They (fool of the first order) are robbed of their knowledge because even after prolonged speculation they cannot reach to the stage of knowing the Personality of Godhead, the summum bonum of everything
- They (queens) overcame that stage of weakness and became caught up with the idea of embracing the Lord (Krsna), and this thought factually made them unconscious of their surrounding environment
- They are (the forms of worship of the superior) all nicely described in the Second Chapter, but in the Third Chapter further development is prescribed after one has actually reached the stage of Visnu worship
- This (atmarama) stage of full satisfaction is the proper situation for understanding the transcendental knowledge of the Personality of Godhead
- This (one's original position) is the position of visoka, or the stage of being freed from all grief and anxieties
- This concentration of the mind upon the lotus feet of the Lord is called samadhi. Until one reaches the stage of samadhi, or trance, he cannot understand the nature of the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- This is the stage of Brahman realization, or spiritual realization. In this way one becomes fixed on the transcendental platform. Remaining fixed on the transcendental platform is liberation from material entanglement
- This is the stage of oneness, or merging into the existence of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This means that the individual soul, while keeping his individuality, no longer has separate interests
- This lalasa-mayi stage of submission comes in the stage of perfect liberation, which is technically called svarupa-siddhi, when the living entity understands, by perfect spiritual advancement and revelation, his original relationship with the Lord
- This material body, as well as the senses, the faculties of thinking, feeling and willing and the stages of distress, happiness, attachment and lust - all are different products of these three qualities of nature
- This stage of appreciation becomes the cause of future exchanges of loving affairs with Krsna
- This stage of dependence is called sattva-samsuddhih, or purification of one's existence. The result of such purification is exhibited in fearlessness
- This stage of perfection is called apavarga, or the perfect stage of liberation. Simple knowledge of liberation is material knowledge
- This subject matter (the Lord's rasa dance) is highly spiritual and technical, and only liberated personalities who have gradually attained the stage of paramahamsa can transcendentally relish the worshipable rasa dance
- Those who are in the lowest stage of knowledge, they are in the bodily concept of life - the indriya, the senses. Just like cats and dogs, they cannot think more than that. But Krsna advises, No, don't stop here
- Those who have not attained the stage of spontaneous love for Krsna should not live in Vrndavana very long. It is better for them to make short visits
- Thus established in the mode of unalloyed goodness, the man whose mind has been enlivened by contact with devotional service to the Lord gains positive scientific knowledge of the P of Godhead in the stage of liberation from all material association
- Thus, by the mercy of the Lord, who is situated in everyone's heart, one gradually develops his faith in the descriptions of such authoritative scriptures. This is the first stage of association with pure devotees
- To come to the stage of manipulating finer elements like mind, intelligence and spirit, one needs appropriate training, an appropriate mode of life and appropriate association
- To come to the stage of spontaneous love for Krishna is a very high stage, and it is not to be imitated
- To direct the bewildered living entity in progress toward liberation according to varied stages of advancement, different directions are given in the Vedas
- To enable people to reach the stage of activities that are not tinged by fruitive results, great saints first engage people in fruitive activities
- To eradicate doubts in the minds of unbelievers, this verse (in SB 3.33.7) affirms that the stage of chanting of the holy name of the Lord is not sudden, but that the chanters have already performed all kinds of Vedic rituals and sacrifices
- To rise to the stage of love shown by the gopis is very difficult, but this stage is attainable for serious conditioned souls
U
- Ultimate is always be absorbed in glorifying the Lord, but not in the beginning. In the beginning you must work very hard; you come to the stage of pure devotional platform
- Unless and until one reaches the stage of the purest quality of goodness - other words, until he transcends the plane of material speculation - it is not possible for him to know that everything emanates from the Personality of Godhead Vasudeva
- Unless one attains this stage of perfection - beyond the perfection of the preliminaries of the yoga system - there is no ultimate realization
- Unless one begins by performing activities as recommended in the sastras, one cannot reach the stage of liberation, or activities that produce no reactions
- Unless one is awakened to the stage of Uddhava - everlastingly feeling the separation of the Lord in transcendental love, as exhibited by Lord Caitanya also - one cannot understand the real import of the four essential verses of Srimad-Bhagavatam
- Until one comes to the stage of actually understanding one's eternal relationship with the Supreme Lord, he cannot enter into spiritual life
- Until we reach the stage of reestablishing our lost relation with Krsna, the illusion of accepting the body as the self will prevail, and thus fearfulness will also prevail
W
- We are talking of how to come to the vipra stage. The 1st stage, everyone is on the sudra platform. Then by purificatory process, by understanding of this Vedic knowledge, janmana jayate sudrah samskarad bhaved dvijah, that by initiation he is twice-born
- We have no taste for spiritual upliftment. That taste we have lost. That is the stage of our present existence - forgetfulness. We do not know how our taste should be created, how our taste should be converted from material to spiritual
- We must forget whether we are Christian, Moslem or Hindu, and we must understand that we are living entities whose constitutional position is to render service to the supreme living entity. When we reach that stage of understanding, we are liberated
- We shudder even by the name of God. We have come to a certain stage of our civilized life, that we want to banish God altogether
- When a Brahman-realized devotee who has come to the stage of steady trance comes into contact with the eternal form of Krsna, his transcendental pleasure increases millions of times
- When he (a detached person) is completely free from false ego, he becomes nonattached to all material things, and that is the stage of self-realization of Brahman. That stage is called the brahma-bhuta stage. BG 1972 purports
- When it is faultless, or beyond the spell of the material nature, then that is the stage of Brahman
- When one comes to the stage of jnanamayi, one realizes the transcendental opulences of the Personality of Godhead. But when one reaches pure love, one realizes the transcendental form of the Lord as Lord Krsna or Lord Rama. This is what is wanted
- When one comes to the stage of moksa, the impersonalist liberation, the practitioner wants to merge into the existence of the Supreme. But that is also sense gratification
- When one goes above the stage of liberation, however, he at once becomes one of the associates of the Lord to render transcendental loving service. That is technically called vimukti
- When one is above the stages of dharma, artha, kama and moksa, one becomes a devotee. He is then on the platform from which he is guaranteed not to fall again to material existence - yad gatva na nivartante
- When one is actually situated transcendentally, there is no fear of falling down. This stage of understanding is technically called sthayi-bhava
- When one is factually on the plane of spiritual understanding, surpassing the stages of sense, mind and intelligence, he is then on the transcendental plane
