- A devotee cannot eat anything and everything he likes; he must eat only foods that have been offered to God. The Lord clearly says (BG 9.26) that He will accept a flower, a fruit, a leaf, or a little water if they are offered to Him with devotional love

- Bali Maharaja said to God: On behalf of the demigods, You disguised Yourself to cheat me, saying that You wanted only three paces of land, but later You expanded Your body to such an extent that with two footsteps You covered the entire universe
- Because the people became atheist, so Lord Buddha, just to take them under his control, he also collaborated and said, "Yes, there is no God, but you hear me." But he is incarnation of God

- Due to Brahman, even while sleeping the living entity can enjoy. The Lord says, "That Brahman, that Paramatma and that Bhagavan are I Myself." This is noted by Srila Jiva Gosvami in his Krama-sandarbha
- During these talks (about self-realization) the topic of Lord Kapila had come up, and at that time Maitreya had repeated Kapiladeva's discussions with His mother, wherein the Lord states that attachment to material things is the cause of conditioned life
- Durvasa Muni wanted to chastise Maharaja Ambarisa, it is to be understood that he wanted to give pain to the heart of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, for the Lord says, sadhavo hrdayam mahyam: The pure devotee is always within the core of My heart

- Each person is eternal. Because the Lord says that He existed as a person before the creation (agre) and will also exist after the annihilation, the Lord is a person eternally
- Either the Supreme Lord or His representative can become guru. The Lord says, mam eva ye prapadyante mayam etam taranti te: (BG 7.14) One can get relief from the clutches of maya as soon as he surrenders unto Me
- Elsewhere in Bhagavad-gita the Lord says, urdhvam gacchanti sattva-sthah: (BG 14.18) if one becomes a very good person - in other words, if one is in the mode of goodness - he may be elevated to the higher planetary systems
- Even after traveling all over the universe, from Brahmaloka to Patalaloka, one cannot escape the attack of birth, death, disease and old age. But one who enters the kingdom of God, the Lord says, is never again obliged to come to the material world
- Even if we do not understand this philosophy, we will be purified if we hear what Krsna says. This is the whole process of hari-sankirtana
- Everywhere, but in India especially, people should know that the real religion is this Vedic system. Vedic religion means varnasrama-dharma. Krsna says - God says - catur-varnyam maya srstam - BG 4.13

- First of all, you have to understand what is religion. The religion is God's law. You have to understand. Religion does not mean your manufactured, concocted ideas. What God says, that is religion
- Foolish people think, "Why God has made me poor? Why God has made so many poor men?" God has not made. They have made themselves poor. God has not made. He does not make any distinguish. He says the plain truth
- For an ordinary living being, the body in which he appears is his punishment. As the Lord says in BG 7.14, daivi hy esa guna-mayi mama maya duratyaya: This divine energy of Mine, consisting of the three modes of material nature, is difficult to overcome
- For the Personality of Godhead says that He always favors His devotees by endowing them with the intelligence to perform devotional activities, so that at the end His devotees may attain to Him
- From time immemorial there are so many religious systems. So many. But real religious system is what God says, or Krsna says
- Full knowledge of Brahman, Paramatma and Bhagavan is revealed to the pure devotees. The Lord says in BG (10.11): Out of compassion for them, I, dwelling in their hearts, destroy with the shining lamp of knowledge the darkness born of ignorance

- God comes as Krsna or Kapiladeva and says, "Here I am. See My features. I am a person. I play the flute and enjoy Myself in Vrndavana. Why can't you see Me?" Thus God comes, explains Himself and leaves behind His instruction, Bhagavad-gita
- God does not say: "Only the brahmin class of men, please come here. Others all rejected." No. He is inviting everyone. Even the lowest of the lowest, low-born, papa-yonayah, women, sudra or vaisyas, everyone
- God is one. God cannot be two. And what He says, that is also one. So if we accept that one law of God, that is religion. Then there is unity
- God is our father, God is our friend, naturally, and He says that suhrdam sarva-bhutanam, aham bija-pradah pita (BG 14.4): "I am the seed-giving . . ." not only for the human being - all species of life, they are living entities
- God is person and He speaks. If He speaks, then He hears, He smells, He eats - everything. All the activities are there. If He cannot hear, then our prayer to Him, "O God, give us our daily bread," is useless
- God is very kind, and if someone wants something from Him, He allows it. "All right," He says. "Take this." His relationship to us is just like the relationship of a father to a son
- God never says that "Stop sex." Otherwise, why there is grhastha asrama?
- God or God's representative, whatever they say, that is not meant for a limited area. Either you take Christian principle or Hindu principle, what is real principle, that is applicable everywhere
- God says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.26): If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I will accept it
- God says that "You are My eternal servant. You must obey Me." That is religion. You try to understand the meaning of religion. Religion means the law given by God, and you must accept it. That is religion
- God says that, "I am the enjoyer of everything." We are acting in this material world to enjoy something. We are working day and night to get some fruit of our labor and enjoy it
- God says that, "You always think of Me. You just become My devotee, worship Me and offer your respect to Me." This is God's will. "And if you do this, then you are coming back to Me." It is clearly said. God's will is declared. There is no secret
- God says that, "You become devotee of Me." You do not become. That is your fault
- God says that, "You surrender unto Me; I shall give you all protection." There is assurance. But we are so unfortunate that we cannot believe or cannot be assured on the words of God also. We do not believe
- God says, "Surrender unto Me," so why not surrender? Why surrender to maya? That is the individual's choice. Another example: the government does not want the youth to become hippies, but they are abandoning a wealthy life just to lie down
- God says, "Surrender unto Me." Guru is preaching... That is real guru. He's preaching, "Surrender to Krsna." He'll never say, "Surrender unto Me."
- God says, catur-varnyam maya srstam guna-karma-vibhagasah: (BG 4.13) "For the proper management of human society, I have created these four social divisions, based on people's qualities and actions." So you have to accept it
- God says, maya srstam: "This varnasrama system is given by Me." So how can we refuse to follow it? that means we are denying the real religion. Dharmam tu saksad bhagavat-pranitam: (SB 6.3.19) real dharma, real religion, means the order given by God
- God says, sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja (BG 18.66): "You give up all other engagement and take My shelter." But you are not doing that. That is your fault
- God says: "You eat really nice things; don't eat nonsense nice thing." Instead of eating nonsense meat, you eat sweet balls. You see? It is not stoppage, but giving better
- God simply said, "Let there be creation," and there was creation. Can you do that? Suppose you are very nice carpenter. Can you say, "Let there be a chair," and at once there is a chair? Is it possible?
H
- He (God) is within the universe and within our heart, and He is even within the atom. Why are we saying that we cannot see Him? God says, - Try to see Me in this way, but if you are too dull, then try to see Me another way
- He (God) knows everything. In the Bhagavad-gita also He says that, "I know past, present, future everywhere." So consciousness is there. One is the supreme consciousness, and the other is this limited consciousness
- He (God) says in Bhagavad-gita that if someone surrenders unto Him, then there is no longer any problem of birth and death. We should accept the time factor as the Supreme Personality of Godhead standing before us
- He (Lord Buddha) preached in a duplicitous way, saying that there is no God. Nonetheless, he himself was an incarnation of God
- He (the Lord) says that the living entities, who are innumerable, can be divided into two classes - the fallible and the infallible. BG 1972 purports
- He did not think that He's a statue; it is image. He knew God. That was his conviction. So God said, "How do you think that a statue can go with you? I am a statue. I cannot go." Then this boy replied, "Well, if a statue can speak, He can go also."
- Here (in BG 8.28) Krsna says that the purpose of all Vedic instructions is to achieve the ultimate goal of life - to go BT Godhead. All scriptures from all countries aim at this goal. This has also been the message of all religious reformers or acaryas
- Here (in Sb 3.21.31.) the Lord says: "You will see everything in the world to be nondifferent from Me." This means that everything should be considered a product of the Lord's energy, and therefore everything should be employed in the service of the Lord
- Here (in SB 3.25.14) we find that although Kapila Muni is the Lord Himself and is capable of manufacturing a new doctrine for His mother, He nevertheless says, "I shall just explain the ancient system which I once explained to the great sages
- Here God says that "I have created." So God's creation is not limited. Suppose the sun is creation of God. It is not for India or for Australia - it is for everyone
- Here Lord Vamanadeva, as an ideal brahmacari, refuses Bali Maharaja's offer to give Him anything He might want. He says that without contentment one could not be happy even if he possessed the property of the entire world or the entire universe
- Hiranyakasipu was certainly enjoying the fruitful results of his austerities, but the Lord says that as soon as he committed an offense at the lotus feet of Prahlada Maharaja he would be ruined
- How can the all-powerful Lord take birth, seemingly like an ordinary man? The matter is explained in the Bhagavad-gita (4.6), where the Lord says, ajo 'pi sann avyayatma bhutanam isvaro 'pi san, prakrtiḿ svam adhisthaya sambhavamy atma-mayaya
- How do you understand that God is great? What is your calculation, that from, on this point, God is great? Just like in your Bible it is said, "God said 'Let there be creation,' and there was creation." Is it not? Is it not statement? So here is greatness
I
- I am speaking simply what the Supreme Personality of Godhead has said. I'm just repeating the same words. That's all. Don't think that I am speaking. I am simply instrument. Real speaker is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is without and within
- If I am rich, you are richer than me, another richer than you, another richer than him. So nobody can say that, "I am the richest of all." That only God can say
- If we take what Bhagavan says as perfect knowledge, we receive perfect knowledge. For receiving this knowledge, there is a disciplic succession - parampara
- If we understand why Bhagavan appears as the son of Devaki, then you become liberated. Bhagavan says, janma karma ca me divyam yo janati tattvatah (BG 4.9). You have to learn it tattvatah, in truth, not superficially
- If you have faith in God, "God is saying this, I must do it," that blind faith is as good. Although it is blind faith, it is the fact
- If you persist that, "I must go and enjoy independently," so God says: "All right, you can go." This is the position. You have to take sanction. That is a fact. When you persist, God sanctions. And you come and enjoy
- If You say that a controller is needed because the material energy does not have the power to act, one may answer that if the bonds of affection You have created are disturbed by fruitive action, no one will raise children with affection
- In BG 5.29 the Lord says: The sages, knowing Me as the ultimate purpose of all sacrifices & austerities, the Supreme Lord of all planets and demigods & the benefactor & well-wisher of all living entities, attains peace from the pangs of material miseries
- In BG the PG says the following words: O son of Prtha, even those who are faithless and are of lower birth - including fallen women or professional prostitutes, ignorant manual laborers all shall attain perfection and reach the Kingdom of God
- In Bhagavad-gita (6.1), the PG says - One who performs his duty for duty's sake, without seeking the fruitive results of such work, is the true renunciant and mystic - not he who has discarded all his duties and relieved himself of his responsibilities
- In Bhagavad-gita (BG 10.10) the Lord says: "To those who are constantly devoted and who worship Me with love, I give the understanding by which they can come to Me." This is very practical
- In Bhagavad-gita (BG 10.41) the Lord says: Know that all beautiful, glorious and mighty creations spring from but a spark of My splendor
- In Bhagavad-gita (BG 10.8), the Lord says, aham sarvasya prabhavo: "I am the origin of everything." Mattah sarvam pravartate: "whatever exists in the creation emanates from Me"
- In Bhagavad-gita (BG 10.8), the Lord says, When one fully understands that I create everything by My omnipotence, one becomes firmly situated in devotional service and fully surrenders at My lotus feet

- In SB 3.25.38 the Lord says: Persons who are satisfied with the idea of becoming My adherents alone. They consider that I am their soul, their friend, I am their son, I am their master, I am their well-wisher, I am their God, & I am their supreme goal
- In Srimad-Bhagavatam (SB 2.9.33) the Lord also says, aham evasam evagre: "Only I existed before the creation"
- In the Adi Purana the Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself says: Lord Brahma, Lord Siva, the goddess of fortune and even My own self are not as dear to Me as the gopis
- In the beginning of creation, the Lord blessed them by saying, "Be thou happy by this yajna (sacrifice) because its performance will bestow upon you all desirable things." BG 3.10 - 1972
- In the beginning of the BG, the Lord said that all living entities existed individually in the past, they exist now in the present, and they continue to retain individual identity in the future, even after liberation from the material entanglement
- In the Bhagavad-gita (13.5) the Lord says, brahma-sutra-padais caiva hetumadbhir viniscitaih: Understanding of the ultimate goal of life is ascertained in the Brahma-sutra by legitimate logic and argument concerning cause and effect
- In the Bhagavad-gita (4.2) the Lord says, The supreme science was thus received through the chain of disciplic succession, and the saintly kings understood it in that way
- In the Bhagavad-gita (BG 10.8) the Lord says, aham sarvasya prabhavah - I am the fountainhead of all emanations - The material cosmos, being temporary, is sometimes manifest and sometimes unmanifest, but its energy emanates from the Supreme Absolute Lord
- In the Bhagavad-gita (BG 10.8) the Lord says, aham sarvasya prabhavo mattah sarvam pravartate: “I am the origin of all. Everything emanates from Me
- In the Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.9), the Lord says, janma karma ca me divyam evam yo vetti tattvatah, tyaktva deham punar janma naiti mam eti so 'rjuna
- In the Bhagavad-gita (BG 7.15) the Lord says: Those miscreants who are grossly foolish, who are lowest among mankind, whose knowledge is stolen by illusion, and who partake of the atheistic nature of demons do not surrender unto Me
- In the Bhagavad-gita (BG 7.5) the Lord says: Besides these inferior energies, O mighty-armed Arjuna, there is another, superior energy of Mine, which comprises all living entities who are exploiting the resources of this material, inferior nature
- In the Bhagavad-gita (BG 8.15) also the same is confirmed, as the Lord says, "The great mahatmas, or the bhakti-yogis, after attaining My association, never come back to this material world, which is full of miseries and is nonpermanent
- In the Bhagavad-gita (BG 8.16) the Lord says that even if one goes up to Brahmaloka, he again comes back (abrahma-bhuvanal lokah punar avartino 'rjuna)
- In the Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.32) it is said by the Lord that there is no bar to becoming a devotee of the Lord (even for those who are lowborn, or women, sudras or vaisyas), and by becoming a devotee everyone is eligible to return home, back to Godhead
- In the Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.32) the Lord says: O son of Prtha, those who take shelter in Me, though they be of lower birth - women, vaisyas (merchants), and sudras (workers) - can attain the supreme destination

- In the Bhagavad-gita the Lord says - My dear Arjuna, I am equal to everyone. No one is the object of My envy, and no one is My special friend, but I give special attention to one who engages in Krsna consciousness
- In the Bhagavad-gita the Lord says that He has spread Himself throughout the universe, but although everything is resting upon Him, He is aloof
- In the Bhagavad-gita the Lord says that He is present in everyone's heart, and from Him only all knowledge, remembrance or forgetfulness take place
- In the Bhagavad-gita the Lord says that He is the supreme enjoyer, the supreme proprietor of everything and anything within this creation, and the supreme friend of everyone. When one knows these things perfectly, he is always satisfied
- In the Bhagavad-gita the Lord says that in order to show special favor to His pure devotees, He personally eradicates the dense darkness of all misgivings by switching on the light of pure knowledge within the heart of a devotee
- In the Bhagavad-gita the Lord says that long, long before the instruction was imparted to Arjuna, the same was instructed to the sun-god
- In the Bhagavad-gita the Lord says that to those who are constantly engaged in devotional service with love and affection, the Supreme Personality of Godhead gives intelligence from within, and thus they may make further progress
- In the Bhagavad-gita the Lord says, "All the Vedas are searching after Me"
- In the Bhagavad-gita, Eighteenth Chapter, the Lord states that one who is engaged in preaching Krsna consciousness is very dear to Him. A preacher has to face many difficulties in his struggle to preach pure Krsna consciousness
- In the Bhagavad-gita, God says that "All living entities are My part and parcels." He's undergoing a great struggle for life under the bodily impression that he is this body, but this kind of understanding is animal civilization
- In the Bhagavad-gita, the Lord says that only by bhakti-yoga can one know Him perfectly, and then one can enter into the science of God
- In the Bhagavad-gita, the Lord says that you, the soul, are present in your body and that your body is the field of your activities. So whatever you are doing is limited by the field of your body
- In the Catuh-sloki of Srimad-Bhagavatam, the Lord says, aham evasam evagre: "I was existing in the beginning before the creation." (SB 2.9.33) In the Vedas it is also said, eko narayana asit: "Before the creation there was only Narayana
- In the Eleventh Canto of Srimad-Bhagavatam (SB 11.20.31), the Lord Himself says that there is no necessity to cultivate speculative knowledge and renunciation if one is actually engaged in the devotional service of the Lord
- In the Nrsimha Purana, Lord Nrsimhadeva says, "Anyone who prays unto Me and takes shelter from Me becomes My ward, and I protect him always from all sorts of calamities"
- In the Ramayana, Lanka-kanda (18.33) the Lord says: It is My promise and duty to give all protection to one who surrenders unto Me without reservation
- In the scriptures the Lord says that those attracted by this material nature are undergoing a hard struggle for existence. BG 1972 purports
- In the Second Chapter of the Bhagavad-gita (BG 2.12), wherein the Lord says: Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you (Arjuna), nor all these kings; nor in the future shall any of us cease to be
- In the Srimad-Bhagavatam (SB 5.5.3) Lord Rsabhadeva states that one who is determined to become a pure devotee avoids associating with the general mass of people, who are simply engaged in the animal propensities of eating, sleeping, defending, & mating
- In the Vedas the Lord says: "Since everything is a manifestation of My energy, I am known as Parabrahman. Therefore everyone should hear from Me about My glorious activities"
- In the Vedic system is what God says. If you take to this system, then the social body will be perfect, not only for Hindus but also for Christians, for Muhammadans, for everyone. And that is being practically realized in our Krsna consciousness movement
- In the very beginning, the Lord says that this body is perishable and that the soul is not perishable. That is a confidential part of knowledge. BG 1972 purports
- In this Fifth Chapter of the Bhagavad-gita, God says that work in devotional service is better than dry mental speculation. Devotional service is easier than the latter because, being transcendental in nature, it frees one from reaction. BG 1972 purports
- In this verse (SB 4.9.25) the word navartate is very significant. The Lord says, You (Dhruva Maharaja) will not come back to this material world, for you will reach mat-sthanam, My abode
- It (animal sacrifice to goddess Kali) is meant to restrict his desire for unrestricted meat-eating. Such a religious system is condemned. Therefore Krsna says, "Give up all other duties and surrender unto Me." (BG 18.66) That is the last word in religion
- It is clearly declared here (in BG 9.32) by the Supreme Lord that in devotional service there is no distinction between the lower or higher classes of people. BG 1972 purports
- It is clearly stated here (in SB 4.7.39), by His internal potency He is transcendental to all these material qualities. Similarly, in Bhagavad-gita the Lord says, "I appear by My internal potency
- It is fashionable to research to try to find out who is God, but this is not necessary. God is present, and He Himself says - (this verse) BG 7.7
- It is foolish also to think that natural laws are ultimately powerful. Material nature's law works under the direction of the Lord, as confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita. The Lord says there that natural laws work under His supervision
- It is noteworthy that BG or SB never states that krsna uvaca ("Krsna says") or kapiladeva uvaca ("Kapiladeva says"). Rather, it states bhagavan uvaca ("the Supreme Personality of Godhead says"). This means that the version is perfect
- It is said by the Lord that His topics are all full of spiritual significance, and once one properly hears about Him in the association of the satam, certainly one senses the great potency and so automatically attains to the devotional stage of life
- It is said by the Lord: yasyaham anugrhnami harisye tad-dhanam sanaih. The Lord told Yudhisthira Maharaja that His special favor is shown to His devotee when He takes away all the devotee's material opulences
- It is said, Lord says that, "I stay there. Wherever My pure devotees are glorifying Me, I stay there." God is everywhere, but particularly He is there. So temple, there is no necessity
- It is stated in the Bhagavad-gita by the Lord that His so-called birth in the material world and His activities are all transcendental

- Jiva Gosvami has explained this verse (SB 10.3.43) in his Krsna-sandarbha, Ninety-sixth Chapter, where he notes that in text 37 the Lord says, amuna vapusa, meaning - by this same form
- Just as heat and light emanate from fire, these two energies - the physical elements and the living entities - emanate from the Supreme Lord. Therefore the Lord says, aham vai sarva-bhutani: "I expand the physical and spiritual categories"

- Kapila said that the system of Sankhya philosophy was not exactly being introduced by Him; it was already current, but in course of time it was mysteriously lost & therefore He appeared to reintroduce it. That is the purpose of the incarnation of Godhead
- Kapiladeva comes to propound this Sankhya philosophy, which is unalloyed devotion to the Lord. Herein Kapiladeva says that one is condemned to death unless he takes shelter of the Lord. There is no other way to be saved
- Kapiladeva instructs His mother and says, "My dear Mother, devotees whose hearts are always filled in the service of My lotus feet, and who are prepared to do anything for My satisfaction"
- Kapiladeva said to Devahuti, "My laughing, My pastimes and My glance appear to them so beautiful that their minds are always absorbed in thoughts of Me, and their lives are dedicated fully unto Me"
- Kapiladeva said to His mother, "My dear Mother, those who are My pure devotees, who have no desire for material benefit or philosophical speculation, have their minds so much engaged in My service that they are never interested in asking Me for anything"
- Kapiladeva said to His mother, "They (pure devotees) do not even beg to live in My abode with Me"
- Kapiladeva said, "My dear Mother, when a person is actually in association with pure devotees, the sublime potency of My devotional service can be experienced"
- Kapiladeva said: "Just as the celestial waters of the Ganges flow unobstructed into the ocean, so when My devotees simply hear of Me, their minds come to Me, who reside in the hearts of all"
- Kapiladeva said: "My devotees do not accept salokya, sarsti, sarupya, samipya or oneness with Me - even if I offer these liberations - in preference to serving Me"
- Kapiladeva said: "These are the characteristics of transcendental loving service to Purusottama, the Supreme Personality of Godhead: it is causeless, and it cannot be obstructed in any way"
- Kapiladeva says that He previously delivered this yoga system to the great rsis, the great sages. This is the process of sravana, hearing
- Kapiladeva was one son, and when He was grown up He also said, - My dear mother, My father has left home. I will also leave home. If you want to take some instruction from Me, you can take. Then I shall go away
- Krsna is guiding us. Don't be victims of these rascals. Asatyam apratistham te jagad ahur anisvaram (BG 16.8). There is God. There is supreme controller. And God says, mayadhyaksena (BG 9.10) - Under My superintendence
- Krsna said, "My dear friends, you know that Lord Balarama and I left Vrndavana just to please Our relatives and family members. Thus We were long engaged in fighting with Our enemies and were obliged to forget you, who were so much attached to Me"
- Krsna said, "Yes. Don't be agitated. I am coming, I am coming." Like that. And practically He never came back. He left at the age of 15, 16 years old, then He became engaged in fighting, being educated and marrying and becoming king and so on
- Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita (9.34) man-mana bhava mad-bhakto mad-yaji mam namaskuru - Engage your mind always in thinking of Me, become My devotee, offer obeisances to Me and worship Me
- Krsna says something, and I understand something. That you go on with your millions of years; it will never be possible. You have to understand Krsna as He says. Therefore we are presenting Bhagavad-gita as it is. That is real understanding
- Krsna says, "It is neither practical nor necessary for one who is already engaged in devotional service to Me and whose mind is fixed on Me to endeavor for the cultivation of knowledge and renunciation"

- Lord Balarama considered, "I have appeared in order to chastise false persons who are internally impure but externally pose themselves as very learned and religious. My killing of such persons is proper, to check them from further sinful activity"
- Lord Balarama said, "This man (Romaharsana Suta) is liable to be awarded the death punishment because"
- Lord Buddha appeared to stop this animal killing and when people wanted to give evidence from the Vedas that animal killing is sanctioned in the Vedas, why you are stopping? Therefore He had to say: I don’t care for your Vedas
- Lord Kapila has said that perfect yoga enables one to transcend the platform of material distress & happiness. How this can be done is explained here (in SB 3.25.16): one has to purify his mind & consciousness. This can be done by the bhakti-yoga system
- Lord Vamanadeva continued: O King of the demons, after Lord Visnu made this decision, He entered the body of His enemy Hiranyakasipu, who was running after Him with great force
- Lord Visnu said: "My devotees, having fulfilled their desires by serving Me, do not accept the four kinds of salvation that are easily earned by such service. Why then should they accept any pleasures that are lost in the course of time?"
- Lord Visnu said: O demigods, cast into the ocean of milk all kinds of vegetables, grass, creepers and drugs. Then, with My help, making Mandara Mountain the churning rod and Vasuki the rope for churning, churn the ocean of milk with undiverted attention
M
- Mad-bhakta-pujabhyadhika (SB 11.19.21). The Lord (Krsna) says, "Engaging in the service of My devotee is better than trying to engage in My devotional service"
- Man proposes; God disposes. God is very kind. Whatever you desire, He will fulfill. Although He says that "This kind of material desires will never satisfy you," but we want. Therefore God supplies us, Krsna, different types of body
- Many of the Lord's devotees residing in Vrndavana have taken the vow not to leave Vrndavana to preach KC. But the Lord says that KC should be spread all over the world, in every village and every town. This is the open order of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu
- Material life is miserable life. Krsna says, God says, that this place is duhkhalayam - it is a place of miseries. And it is also asasvatam, temporary
- Maya is so strong that the Lord says that it is very difficult to surmount her influence. But one can do so very easily if he surrenders unto Me - the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- My dear Lord, what You have said to Your unalloyed devotee is certainly very much bewildering. The allurements You offer in the Vedas are certainly not suitable for pure devotees
- My Lord, You may say that there is no law that a father must die in the lifetime of his son and that a son must be born in the lifetime of his father, since everyone lives and dies according to his own fruitive activity
- My point is that those who are soldiers, fighting on behalf of Krsna, they are brave soldiers. Na ca tasman manusyesu kascin me priya-krttamah (BG 18.69). Krsna says, "Nobody is dearer than him who is in the process of preaching this Bhagavad-gita."
N
- Nanda and Sunanda, the two confidential associates of Lord Visnu, said: Dear King, let there be all good fortune unto you. Please attentively hear what we shall say
- "Narayana is transcendental to the creation." (Gita-bhasya) Since all the activities of Narayana are spiritual, when Narayana said, "Let there be creation," that creation was all-spiritual
- Narayana said. - When they (the brahmana and the cobbler) ask you (Narada) what I am doing in My abode, tell them that I am threading the eye of a needle with an elephant
- No one can manufacture or concoct a religion; "religion" refers to the injunctions or laws of the Lord. In Bhagavad-gita the Lord says that religion means to surrender unto Him
- Now the Lord says that this Ninth Chapter is the king of all such knowledge, the essence of all knowledge that can be derived from the study of the Vedas and different kinds of philosophy. BG 1972 purports
- Now, God says, "give up all this concocted dharma and just surrender unto Me." So take that dharma
- Nrsimha-deva said, "Your (Prahlada's) father is already liberated because you are his son. In spite of all his offenses, he is liberated. Not only your father, but your father's father, his father up to seven generations, they are all liberated"
O
- One attains to the kingdom of God, where spiritual varieties are there. They are not variety-less; otherwise, the Lord would not have said that samstham. There is a regular establishment
- One can execute devotional service even in the most poverty-stricken condition. The Lord says, patram puspam phalam: He is ready to accept from the devotee any kind of offering, never mind what. BG 1972 purports
- One cannot do anything unless he is enlightened and empowered by the Lord. The Lord says in Bhagavad-gita mattah smrtir jnanam apohanam ca
- One cannot satisfy the Supreme Lord by his riches, wealth or opulent position, but anyone can collect a little fruit or a flower and offer it to the Lord. The Lord says that if one brings such an offering in devotion, He will accept it and eat it
- One must accept the authority of the Supreme Personality of Godhead and surrender to Him and whatever He says. That is dharma
- One should aspire only for the benediction offered by the SPG. As the Lord says in BG (18.66): "Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reaction. Do not fear." This is the greatest benediction
- One should not conclude that because He (the Lord) is spread all over He has lost His personal existence. To refute such arguments, the Lord says - I am everywhere, and everything is in Me, but still I am aloof
- One thing is that nobody can understand God if he is sinful. But Krsna says, God says that, - You surrender unto Me. I shall help you how to get rid of the resultant action of your sinful life
- Our business is to present Bhagavad-gita as it is. Krsna says, mattah parataram nanyat kincid asti dhananjaya (BG 7.7). We say that, that Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. What Krsna says Himself, we simply carry the message. That's all
- Our Krsna consciousness movement is just to educate man that you believe or not believe, it doesn't matter. There is God. There is the proprietor, but He's coming personally and He's saying, bhoktaram yajna-tapasam sarva-loka-mahesvaram
- Our Krsna consciousness movement, bhagavata-dharma, it is not sentiment. We can explain how God created. Sometimes it is, in Bible, it is said: "God said, 'Let there be creation,' and there was creation." But they cannot explain
P
- Paramatma (Vasudeva) is situated in everyone's heart, as confirmed in Bhagavad-gita. The Lord says: "To those who are constantly devoted and who worship Me with love, I give the understanding by which they can come to Me" - BG 10.10
- Pariksit Maharaja's question to Sukadeva Gosvami was based on this principle stated by the Lord Himself in Bhagavad-gita - 4.7

- Ramananda Raya cited the verse from Srimad-Bhagavatam (SB 11.11.32) wherein the Lord says: In the scriptures I have described the ritualistic principles and the way one can become situated in devotional service. That is the highest perfection of religion
- Rsabhadeva says that this human form of life is not meant for working so hard like cats and dogs. That is not recommended. Ayam deha. But the material world, people are so enchanted that working day and night they think I am enjoying
- Rsabhadeva says, "My dear sons, this body, human body, this body is not for wasting like, dogs and hogs." They are not wasting. They are in the gradual evolution process. They are coming to the human form of body gradually, by nature's law

- She (Mohini-murti) said to the sons of Kasyapa, - How is this? You were all born of a great rsi, yet you are putting your faith in a woman who is loitering here and there like a prostitute, unprotected by father or husband
- Should a sannyasi, who is in the renounced order of life and who has given up his family relations, encourage the marriage ceremony? The Lord says here (in BG 18.5) that any sacrifice which is meant for human welfare should never be given up. BG 1972 pur
- Since Lord Siva is the best of the demigods, he is the best of all devotees (vaisnavanam yatha sambhuh). His exemplary character was therefore praised by the SP of Godhead, who gave His benediction by saying, "May all good fortune be upon you"
- Since no one but the Supreme Lord can enjoy the results of sacrifice, the Lord says that He is the actual enjoyer of all sacrifices (bhoktaram yajna-tapasam sarva-loka-mahesvaram (BG 5.29)). Sacrifices should be performed with this view in mind
- Since the Lord says that He is suhrdam sarva-bhutanam (BG 5.29), the well-wisher of all living entities, how could He act with partiality by killing demons? These questions arose in the heart of Pariksit Maharaja, and he inquired from Sukadeva Gosvami
- Since we ourselves do not possess perfect knowledge, we simply try to teach what Sri Bhagavan says. We do not manufacture our own teachings
- Sometimes people are very much eager to see God. In considering the word mad-darsanam, "seeing Me," which is mentioned in this verse (SB 7.4.25-26), one should note that in Bhagavad-gita the Lord says, bhaktya mam abhijanati
- Sometimes the Lord becomes angry. As He says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 16.19): Those who are envious and mischievous, who are the lowest among men, are cast by Me into the ocean of material existence, into various demoniac species of life
- Suddenly God appeared and said, "What do you want?" She said, - please help me put this bundle back on my head
- Sukadeva Gosvami continued: After saying this, the Lord disappeared. The wife of King Nabhi, Queen Merudevi, was sitting by the side of her husband, and consequently she could hear everything the Supreme Lord had spoken
- Supreme Personality of Godhead said to demigods, "Do not be aggrieved. By My own energy I shall bewilder the demons by creating a quarrel among them. In this way I shall fulfill your desire to have the nectar"
T
- Take this simple approach (from BG 18.66). Then everything will be immediately done. Real dharma, real religion, means dharmam tu saksad bhagavat-pranitam: (SB 6.3.19) what God says, that is dharma
- That is Krsna consciousness. His will is supreme. Whatever He says, that's all. As soon as you manufacture, everything is spoiled
- That is the characteristic of devotee. What the Lord says, the devotee will say. He will not make any addition, alteration, and amalgamate and comment
- The Absolute Truth, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, may be realized in different stages. As the Lord says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.11): As men surrender unto Me, I reward them accordingly
- The attainment of spiritual perfection by different spiritualists is explained in the Bhagavad-gita, wherein the Lord says that He grants the perfection the devotee desires in proportion to the devotee's surrender unto Him
- The Blessed Lord said: I instructed this imperishable science of yoga to the sun-god, Vivasvan, and Vivasvan instructed it to Manu, the father of mankind, and Manu in turn instructed it to Iksvaku
- The Blessed Lord said: Many, many births both you and I have passed. I can remember all of them, but you cannot, O subduer of the enemy! BG 4.5 - 1972
- The cause of all causes, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is the cause of the living entities. This is confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 7.10), where the Lord says, bijam mam sarva-bhutanam - I am the seed of all living entities
- The devotee says, "My dear Lord, when shall that day come when You will ask me to fan Your body, and according to Your pleasure, You will say, 'You just fan Me in this way'"
- The directions given by the bhakti-sastra point one in the perfect direction because the Supreme Personality of Godhead says in Bhagavad-gita, bhaktya mam abhijanati: (BG 18.55) "Only by devotional service am I to be known
- The great sage Narayana began to speak. "My dear Narada," He said, "I shall tell you a story which took place long, long ago
- The human society must be divided into four classes: brahmana, ksatriya, vaisya, sudra. The Lord says. That is bhagavata-dharma. If you abolish this, everyone is sudra, no brahmana
- The impersonal and localized conceptions of the Supreme Lord are more or less materially contaminated. The real spiritual process is bhakti-yoga. As the Lord says, bhaktya mam abhijanati: (BG 18.55) "Only by devotional service can I be understood
- The living entities should be accepted as fragmental portions of the Supreme. This is confirmed in Bhagavad-gita (15.7) when the Lord says, mamaivaḿso jiva-loke jiva-bhutah sanatanah: The living entities are My fragmental portions, eternally
- The Lord also says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 5.29), bhoktaram yajna-tapasam. One may engage in performing sacrifices and severe austerities for perfection, but they are all meant to satisfy the Supreme Lord
- The Lord also says that the mahatmas, or great souls, always engage in the process of chanting the glories of the Lord, and just by hearing, others derive the same benefit
- The Lord also says: "I am also the knower." This means that He is the superknower; the individual soul knows only his particular body. BG 1972 purports
- The Lord also says: In this endeavor (engaging in devotional service) there is no loss or diminution, and a little advancement on this path can protect one from the most dangerous type of fear
- The Lord clearly says that although Hiranyakasipu had received benedictions from Lord Brahma, these benedictions would be null and void as soon as he committed an offense at the lotus feet of Prahlada Maharaja, his own son
- The Lord demands that one surrender unto Him (BG 18.66). He further says - If one surrenders unto Me sincerely, saying, 'My Lord, from this day I am fully surrendered unto You,' I always give him protection. That is My vow - Ramayana, Yuddha-kanda 18.33
- The Lord does not say that one should give up his prescribed duties or engagements. One can continue them and at the same time think of Krsna by chanting Hare Krsna. BG 1972 purports
- The Lord has stated that He is beyond the range of mental speculation and the speed of thought, yet He can be approached easily by His causeless mercy. Thus only by His causeless mercy can He be attained. Other methods will not be effective

- The Lord Himself says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 7.15): Those miscreants who are grossly foolish, lowest among mankind, whose knowledge is stolen by illusion, and who partake of the atheistic nature of demons, do not surrender unto Me
- The Lord never says that one can understand Him by performing mystic yoga or by philosophically speculating. Bhakti is above all such material attempts
- The Lord openly says that performing great sacrifices or undergoing the austerities of mystic yoga practice cannot satisfy Him. He is pleased only by elevated character and behavior. But these cannot develop unless one becomes a pure devotee of the Lord
- The Lord personally says that no one can understand Him but the bhaktas, who are transcendental to all material qualities
- The Lord said (in BG) that all living entities exist individually in the past, that they exist now in the present, and that they continue to retain individual identity in the future, even after liberation from the material entanglement. BG 1972 purports
- The Lord said to Brahma that since He was pleased with him, by His grace the mystery (of transcendental knowledge about Him) was being revealed
- The Lord said to the demons - since you are not like them (demigods) you can wait a little longer. You are all heroes and are so pleased with Me. It is better for you to wait until after the demigods drink
- The Lord said to the demons -The demigods are very miserly and are excessively anxious to take the nectar first. So let them have it first
- The Lord said, "but from My side I have something for you. I shall remain always as an order carrier servant in your court." In this way the Lord became Bali Maharaja's doorman, and that was his return
- The Lord said, "When they (pure devotees) are not interested even in these liberated positions, you can know how little they care for material opulences or material liberation"
- The Lord said: In order to sanctify your activities and results of your actions, you will offer everything unto Me. This is also confirmed in Bhagavad-gita: Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you sacrifice, the result should be given to Me only
- The Lord says (in BG 10.2.35) - I am not exposed to anyone and everyone - When Krsna came, He was actually present on the battlefield of Kuruksetra, and everyone saw Him. But not everyone could understand that He was the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- The Lord says - I am everything - because everything is His energy and is therefore nondifferent from Him
- The Lord says here (in BG 9.29) distinctly, "mayi te," "in Me." Naturally, as a result, the Lord is also in them (who are situated in Him). This is reciprocal. This also explains the words: asti na priyah/ye bhajanti. BG 1972 purports
- The Lord says in BG (9.29): "I am equal toward all living entities." Nonetheless, to protect the devotees and kill the demons, who were a disturbing element, the Lord entered the womb of Aditi. Therefore this is a transcendental pastime of the Lord

- The Lord says mohitam nabhijanati mam ebhyah param avyayam: (BG 7.13) bewildered by such modes of material nature, they (scientists) cannot understand that beyond these manifestations is a Supreme Person who is the absolute controller of everything
- The Lord says that "All the universal planets, they are resting on My energy." The weightlessness energy, according to the modern materialistic science, how it is possible? That weightlessness we cannot manufacture
- The Lord says that "One who comes to Me," mam upetya, - he hasn't got to come back to this condition of miserable life
- The Lord says that a devotee always exists in His heart, and He also exists always in the heart of the devotee
- The Lord says that although He is the predominating factor of the internal energy and although the material world is sanctified just by the water that has washed His feet, He has the greatest respect for the brahmana and the Vaisnava

- The Lord says that in the Vedas it is mentioned that there are two kinds of living beings, called the fallible and the infallible
- The Lord says that knowledge of Him is vijnana, science. In other words, when one is strengthened by scientific knowledge of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, his position of liberation is guaranteed
- The Lord says that not even the great rsis and suras can know Him. And what to speak of the asuras, for whom there is no question of understanding the ways of the Lord?
- The Lord says that one must worship the acarya, who is the representative of the Supreme Personality of Godhead (acaryam mam vijaniyat (SB 11.17.27)). One should definitely understand this
- The Lord says that such a devotee (who is situated in the stage of devotional service) is very dear to Him, for the Lord is always pleased with all his activities in full Krsna consciousness. BG 1972 purports

- The Lord says to Daksa, "You desire to benefit all living entities, and that is also My desire." The living entities who come in contact with the material world are meant to be corrected
- The Lord says, "A person who has completely surrendered unto Me and has completely given up all other activities is protected by Me personally, both in this life and in the next"
- The Lord says, "Although they (the planetary systems) are situated on My inconceivable energy, still, as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, I am aloof from them." This is the inconceivable opulence of the Lord. BG 1972 purports

- The Lord says, "In other words, I wish to help him become more and more advanced in spiritual life. Such a person is to be understood as having already achieved sarsti"
- The Lord says, "They do not aspire after the five liberated stages, which are 1) to be one with Me, 2) to achieve residence on My planet, 3) to have My opulences, 4) to possess bodily features similar to Mine and 5) to gain personal association with Me"
- The Lord says, bhoktaram yajna-tapasam. He is the actual beneficiary of all sacrifices. Not knowing this fact, less intelligent men offer sacrifices for some material benefit
- The Lord says, dadami buddhi-yogam tam yena mam upayanti te. In other words, the Lord can give instructions on devotional service by which one can return home, back to Godhead
- The Lord says, I am seated in everyone's heart, and by Me are remembrance and forgetfulness made possible

- The Lord says, My dear friend, you and I are not different. This nondifference refers to qualitative oneness, for it was not necessary for the Paramatma, the Supreme Personality, to remind the conditioned soul that he is not one in quantity
- The Lord says, sadhur eva sa mantavyah. Sadhu means a pious man or a religious man. Sadhu means the honest man and all good qualities

- The Lord says: The devotees are My heart, and I am the heart of My devotees. My devotees do not know anyone but Me; similarly, I do not know anyone but My devotees. This is the intimate relationship between the Lord and His devotees - SB 9.4.68
- The Lord says: The sages, knowing Me as the ultimate purpose of all sacrifices & austerities, the Supreme Lord of all planets & demigods & the benefactor & well-wisher of all living entities, attains peace from the pangs of material miseries - BG 5.29
- The Lord then said to His attendants, Jaya and Vijaya: Depart this place, but fear not. All glories unto you. Though I am capable of nullifying the brahmanas' curse, I would not do so. On the contrary, it has My approval
- The Lord then said: "Take up your weapon and try again, eager as you are to conquer Me." Challenged in these words, the demon aimed his mace at the Lord and once more loudly roared
- The Lord then says - Besides these innumerable fallible and infallible living beings there is another, superior personality, known as the Paramatma. He pervades all the three worlds and exists as the supreme controller
- The Lord, situated within everyone's heart, fulfills the desires of the demigod-worshipers - but in the Bhagavad-gita the Lord says that such demigod-worshipers are of small intelligence - alpa-medhasah
- The Personality of Godhead (Kapiladeva) said: My dear Amsuman, here is the animal sought by your grandfather for sacrifice. Please take it. As for your forefathers, who have been burnt to ashes, they can be delivered only by Ganges water
- The Personality of Godhead replied: My dear Lord Brahma, O great lord born from the lotus flower, just as it is dangerous to feed milk to a snake, so it is dangerous to give benedictions to demons, who are by nature ferocious and jealous
- The Personality of Godhead said: As a mass of clouds does not know the powerful influence of the wind, a person engaged in material consciousness does not know the powerful strength of the time factor, by which he is being carried
- The Personality of Godhead said: Knowledge about Me as described in the scriptures is very confidential, and it has to be realized in conjunction with devotional service. The necessary paraphernalia for that process is being explained by Me
- The Personality of Godhead said: These attendants of Mine, Jaya and Vijaya by name, have committed a great offense against you because of ignoring Me
- The Personality of Godhead says (in BG 15.13) - I enter into each planet, and by My energy they stay in orbit
- The Personality of Godhead says that He always favors His devotees by endowing them with the intelligence to perform devotional activities, so that at the end His devotees may attain to Him
- The pure devotee only wants to please the Supreme Lord, and so the Lord says that for anyone who is unflinchingly devoted to Him, He is easy to attain. BG 1972 purports
- The relationship between the Lord and His devotee is reciprocal, as He clearly says in the Bhagavad-gita (9.29): Whoever renders service unto Me in devotion is a friend - is in Me - and I am also a friend to him
- The sages (the four Kumaras) tried with wide open ears to understand the words from the lips of the Supreme Lord, but although His speech was very concise and meaningful, the sages could not completely comprehend what He was saying
- The sages wanted to stress that although the Lord, out of His causeless mercy, says that He worships the brahmanas and Vaisnavas, actually the Lord is worshipable not only by the brahmanas and Vaisnavas but also by the demigods
- The SPG said: Freed from all sinful reactions are those who rise from bed at the end of night, early in the morning, and fully concentrate their minds with great attention upon My form; your form; this lake; this mountain; the caves; the gardens
- The SPG said: You shall be able to see Me there in My usual feature with conchshell, disc, club and lotus in My hand. Because of your transcendental bliss due to always personally seeing Me, you will have no further bondage to fruitive activities
- The spiritual master also offers respect to the Supersoul situated in the body of the disciple. The Lord says in Srimad-Bhagavatam that offering respect to His devotee is more valuable than offering respect to Him
- The Supersoul is ordering, "Don't do it," because without God's sanction he cannot steal. But when the thief persists, then He says, "All right, you do at your risk." This is the position of the Supersoul and the soul
- The Supreme Lord said: There is a banyan tree which has its roots upward and its branches down, and the Vedic hymns are its leaves. One who knows this tree is the knower of the Vedas." BG 1972 Introduction
- The Supreme Lord said: This body, O son of Kunti, is called the field, and one who knows this body is called the knower of the field
- The Supreme Lord says, Give up all other varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. Therefore surrender unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead is the actual principle of religion
- The Supreme Lord says, mayadhyaksena (‘under My superintendence’). When He desires that the cow produce milk by eating straw, there is milk, and when He does not so desire it, the mixture of such straw cannot produce milk
- The Supreme Lord says: Of all yogis, he who always abides in Me with great faith, worshiping Me in transcendental loving service, is most intimately united with Me in yoga and is the highest of all
- The Supreme Lord says: This divine energy of Mine, consisting of the three modes of material nature, is difficult to overcome, but those who have surrendered unto Me can easily cross beyond it - BG 7.13-14
- The Supreme Lord, the maintainer of every living entity, devours everything at the time of annihilation. This was confirmed in the Eleventh Chapter when the Lord said that He has come to devour all the warriors assembled at Kuruksetra. BG 1972 purports
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead continued: My dear Dhruva, I shall award you the glowing planet known as the polestar, which will continue to exist even after the dissolution at the end of the millennium

- The Supreme Personality of Godhead is the ultimate issue, and in this verse (SB 4.24.60) Lord Siva confirms that ultimately the Absolute Truth is a person. He clearly says: tat tvam brahma param jyotir akasam iva vistrtam
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead said - Bhagavan, the Absolute Truth, He's a person. Sometimes we think . . . there are many, they think the Absolute Truth is impersonal. But the Absolute Truth is person

- The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: My dear sons of the King, I am very much pleased by the friendly relationships among you. All of you are engaged in one occupation - devotional service
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: When the demons took away the jug of nectar, I assumed the form of a beautiful woman to bewilder them by directly cheating them and thus to act in the interest of the demigods
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead says that as long as one does not develop the pure devotional service of sravanam kirtanam (SB 7.5.23), hearing and chanting, one must carry out his prescribed duties
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead says: "Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reaction. Do not fear" - BG 18.66
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead says: "I am not in Vaikuntha nor in the hearts of the yogis. I remain where My devotees engage in glorifying My activities." It is to be understood that the SP of Godhead does not leave the company of His devotees
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Visnu, continued: My dear King Prthu, when one situated in his occupational duty engages in My loving service without motive for material gain, he gradually becomes very satisfied within
- The unmanifested state of material nature, pradhana, is being explained. The Lord says that when the unmanifested material nature is agitated by the glance of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, it begins to manifest itself in different ways
- The word manisita is significant. Everyone is falsely or factually proud of his so-called learning. But the Lord says that the highest perfectional stage of learning is to know Him and His abode, devoid of all illusion
- The words mrtyum amrtam, "death and immortality," are significant. In Bhagavad-gita the Lord says, "I am ultimate death, who takes away everything from the demons"
- There is a verse in which the Lord says, "The sadhu is My heart, and I am also the sadhu's heart." The sadhu is always thinking of Krsna, and Krsna is always thinking of the sadhu, His devotee
- There is superior management, as confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.10), where the Lord says, mayadhyaksena prakrtih suyate sa-caracaram: This material nature is working under My direction, O son of Kunti, & it is producing all moving & unmoving beings
- These acts (unauthorized fasting or austerities for some political end) are not approved by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and He says that those who engage in them are demons. BG 1972 purports
- These are the Vedic information. God means na tasya karyam karanam ca vidyate. He has nothing to do; He has simply to desire. I think in Christian Bible also it is said, "God said, 'Let there be creation,' and there was creation." He has to simply desire
- They say, "There is no God," and God says, "Yes, you see Me at the time of death"
- This (BG 9.31) should not be misunderstood. In the Seventh Chapter the Lord says that one who is engaged in mischievous activities cannot become a devotee of the Lord. BG 1972 purports
- This is also confirmed in Bhagavad-gita. The Lord says that He takes charge of one who surrenders unto Him, and He makes him immune to all reactions to sinful activities
- This is confirmed in Bhagavad-gita. Mattah smrtir jnanam apohanam ca (BG 15.15). The Lord says, Through Me one gets real knowledge and memory, and one also forgets through Me
- This theory cannot be supported either, because the Lord Himself says in the Bhagavad-gita that the Brahman effulgence rests on His personality
- Those who are eating vegetable, they are also killing. That's a fact. But God says that, "You can eat this." God says. By nature
- Those who are in the preaching work, they are very much recognized by Krsna. He says, Nobody is dearer than him, one who is preaching, engaged in the preaching
- Thus He (The Lord) plainly says that it was done with His approval. Otherwise, it would have been impossible for inhabitants of Vaikuntha to come back to this material world simply because of a brahminical curse
- To become a sruti-dhara, one who can remember simply by hearing, is a great achievement for a student. In the Bhagavad-gita (BG 10.41) the Lord says: Know that all opulent, beautiful and glorious creations spring from but a spark of My splendor
- To begin, the Lord says that by yoga practice one can make progress towards understanding the Absolute Truth, the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- To His (God's) devotee He says that instead of working in that way, it is better to surrender unto Him, for He will take charge of the devotee. That is the difference between a devotee and a fruitive actor
- To satisfy the senses, that also requires tapasya, hard labor. But here Rsabhadeva says that you accept some painful condition - it is not at all painful, but it appears - tapo divyam, for God realization
- To underscore the validity of mystics or devotees, the Personality of Godhead says in Bhagavad-gita (6.22) that He does not consider anything more valuable than the attainment of that transcendental state

- Vamanadeva said: "O King of the Daityas (Bali Maharaja), from Your Majesty, who come from such a noble family and who are able to give charity munificently, I ask only three paces of land, to the measurement of My steps"
- Vedas is the evidence so, "Here animal killing is ordered. How you are stopping it?" Therefore he (Lord Buddha) said: "I don't care for your Vedas." And because he did not care for the Vedas, therefore in India, later on, nobody accepted Buddha philosophy
- Vedic knowledge is infallible because it comes down through the perfect disciplic succession of spiritual masters, beginning with the Lord Himself. Since He spoke the first word of Vedic knowledge, the source of this knowledge is transcendental
- Visnu said: During that time, your (Prsni's) mind was always absorbed in Me. When you were executing devotional service and always thinking of Me within your heart, I was very much pleased with you. O sinless mother, your heart is therefore always pure
- Visnu said: In due course of time Prsni became pregnant and gave birth to the child. The Lord spoke to Devaki and Vasudeva: At that time My name was Prsnigarbha
- Visnu said: My dear father and mother (Vasudeva and Devaki), you have therefore raised Me many times as your child, with great affection and love, and I am therefore very much pleased and obliged to you
- Vyasadeva specifically means here, bhagavan uvaca. He does not say krsna uvaca, because sometimes Krsna is misunderstood by the fools. So bhagavan uvaca, this word, means whatever He says, there is no defect or deficiencies

- We are missing that point. Krsna said, God said, the clear idea, that "I am the enjoyer, bhokta"
- We can easily understand the material body, but we cannot understand the spiritual body. Therefore Rsabhadeva says: idam sariram mama durvibhavyam
- We don't say: "This is good, this is bad." Whatever God says, that is good. What God does not say, prohibit, that is bad. This is our conclusion
- We have to become a yes man to the Supreme Lord. That's all. That is the perfection of our spiritual life. Now we are all "no men." God says this, I say "no." Stubborn. Now simply we have to say "yes". That's all
- We have to understand what God is and what He says, and we have to abide by His orders. Then there is real religion, there is real understanding of God, and everything is complete
- We present Bhagavad-gita as it is, as Krsna says. We don't allow any rascal to comment upon Bhagavad-gita in a different way. That is our Krsna consciousness movement. This is very natural
- We take up this missionary work, to preach Bhagavad-gita as it is, without any interpretation and without any motive behind it, as it is, as Krsna said . . . we should present as it is
- What about the brahmana?- Narada asked. "He will have to remain there for a number of births. I do not know when he is coming." Narada Muni was astonished, and he finally said, "I can't understand the mystery of this." "That you will see," Narayana said
- What God says, that is dharma. God says: "Do this." That is dharma. Not that you manufacture your dharma. God says, Krsna says, man-mana bhava mad-bhakto mad-yaji mam namaskuru
- Whatever Krsna says - whatever God says - should be directly carried out. That is dharma, religion
- When God says, "Let there be creation," millions of planets, immediately created. That is God. Not that cheap God, "I am God." In your country they come, and you become cheated. We don't accept such cheap God
- When the landlord tells the tenant to leave the house, the tenant must do so. Similarly, when the Paramatma says that we have to leave the body, we have to do so
- When the Lord says aham it is to be understood that He exists with full potency, including all opulences
- Whereas a jnana-yogi, karma-yogi or hatha-yogi has his own selfish interests, a perfect devotee has no desire other than to please the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Therefore the Lord says that for anyone who is devoted to Him, He is easy to attain
- Who can be equal to Him? He wanted, "I want son like You." So where is another person like Him? So He said: I shall become. I am your son
- Why do we close our eyes to try to see Him? He says, "I am this, and I am that." It is not that suddenly we can expect to see God, but we can become qualified to see God through the association of a sadhu
- Why Lord says? In the Vedic scripture also we'll find, parasya saktir vividhaiva sruyate: (Svetasvatara Upanisad 6.8) "There are different kinds of nature of the Supreme." Svabhaviki jnana-bala-kriya ca

- Yet one should not conclude that because He is spread all over He has lost His personal existence. To refute such argument the Lord says, "I am everywhere, and everything is in Me, but still I am aloof." BG 1972 purports
- Yogamaya acts to cover the Lord and His pastimes from the eyes of mundaners, as confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita, where the Lord says that He reserves the right of not being exposed to everyone
- You are right when you write to say that everything about us, tables, chairs, bricks etc. is originally emanating from sound vibration. This is also admitted in the Christian Bible wherein it is said that God said, Let there be creation
- You have to understand the position of God. In every literature, in every scripture: "God said: 'Let there be creation.' So there was creation." So creation is the universe. So God created this universe. So if you love God, then you love the universe
- You have to work from the platform of spiritual consciousness. At the same time you have to work. The Lord never says that "You stop work," never says
- You may be very much advanced in knowledge or so-called science, but because God says that in the material life you must die, you cannot avoid this law
