- Even George Bernard Shaw has written, "You are what you eat." Your body is purified or impurified according to the foodstuff you eat

- One life is meant to be eaten by another. That is nature's law. But we should use discrimination in what kind of foodstuff we shall eat

- Grow some food grains and keep some cows, take the milk, and just prepare nice foodstuff and eat. Keep Krsna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Deity, at home, and Krsna is pleased even you simply offer little fruit and little flower

- He (a devotee who takes foodstuff in a hotel while touring) has full individuality for pleasing Krsna. Krsna says, "You surrender unto Me." So he voluntarily surrenders. It is not that he has lost his individuality. He keeps his individuality

- Let the cow live, and she supplies her blood in the form of milk, and you take vitaminous foodstuff from milk. That is civilization. Milk is also cow's blood. But take this blood in a humanely way, not by killing. Milk is nothing but blood of cow
- Living beings live on the produce of grains and vegetables, and by eating such foodstuff they get vital power of the body in the shape of blood and semen, and from blood and semen one living being is able to create other living beings
- Living entities are naturally attracted by variety, by attractive streets, buildings, cinemas, parks, businesses, foodstuffs, etc. Despite all this variety, the English poet Cowper once said - The city is made by man, but the country is made by God

- One who is directly engaged in all these devotional activities (chanting Hare Krsna and eating the remnants of foodstuff offered to the Deity) is to be understood as having studied all Vedic literature. He has come to the conclusion perfectly. BG 1972 p
- One who is eating simply krsna-prasadam and simple foodstuff, vegetable, grains, milk - they are not allowed to eat anything and everything; they are not allowed to take anything in the hotel - so practically, they are fasting
- One who is in the modes of goodness, his foodstuff is different from the person in the modes of ignorance. Therefore we find so many varieties of foodstuff, varieties of taste. This is all within this material world
- One who takes foodstuff after a performance of sacrifice eats real food for proper maintenance of the body and soul, but one who cooks for himself and does not perform any sacrifice eats only lumps of sin in the shape of foodstuffs
- Only the devotee can appreciate that, "This prasadam is not ordinary foodstuff. It is Krsna's remnant of." Therefore, he understands Krsna

- People can make preparations of God-sent foodstuffs, but they cannot manufacture the natural ingredients. Spiritually cultured men, therefore, feel obliged to the Lord when they get sufficient natural foodstuffs by the grace of the Lord
- Persons who have no discrimination in the matter of foodstuff and who eat all sorts of rubbish are compared to hogs. Hogs are very much attached to eating stools. So stool is a kind of foodstuff for a particular type of animal
- Please be happy with the newly installed Deities there in New Vrindavan and take very greatest of care for them. Dress them nicely, clothe them nicely with garlands and offer very nice foodstuffs

- Real love and devotion is accepted by the Lord. Many valuable foodstuffs may be presented to a person, but if the person is not hungry, all such offerings are useless for him

- Unless the Supreme Lord helps him (the living entity) in digesting, there is no possibility of eating. He thus produces and digests foodstuff, and, by His grace, we are enjoying life. BG 1972 purports
- Unless there is sufficient grain . . . people are giving more stress how to produce machine, but they are not giving any stress how to produce foodstuff. So many land are lying vacant

- Vedic civilization, is not meant for working day and night like animals only for maintaining the foodstuff and sense gratification. It is not civilization. According to our Vedic civilization, this is not civilization. This is another form of animal life
- Vedic mantras confirm that the Supreme Lord or Brahman is situated in the form of fire within the stomach and is digesting all kinds of foodstuff. BG 1972 purports

- We are constructing our temple in Vrndavana. We require fifty lakhs. That is required. But I shall not collect more than fifty lakhs even one cent. This is atyahara. Similarly, if your body can consume foodstuff one kilo or half kilo, you can eat
- We are living in a nice house, we are eating nice foodstuff, we have got nice dress, and the devotees look very nice, bright-faced. What is the wrong there?
- We are not in a position financially to distribute foodstuff for the poor class of men. They may take shelter of some charitable institution. At the present moment, we are not in a position to make charities but for the devotees we can sacrifice anything
- We are servant; we take the remnants of foodstuff left by Krsna. We are neither vegetarian nor nonvegetarian. We are prasad-ian
- We are watering all parts of the tree, but missing the tree's root. We are trying to keep our body fit by all means, but we are neglecting to supply foodstuffs to the stomach. Missing Krsna means missing one's self also
- We cannot offer the Lord that which He has not ordered. The Personality of Godhead, Sri Krsna, cannot be offered anything beyond the range of good foodstuffs like rice, dal, wheat, vegetables, milk and milk preparations, and sugar
- We don't allow them to take anything which is not offered to the Deity. So we offer to the Deity foodstuff - in grains, fruits, flowers, milk products, in that way - no meat, no egg, nothing of this sort. Simple food. They are nutritious
- We kill animals, but the animals do not come to us, that "We are starving. Give us food." Never. By nature, there is arrangement, foodstuff
- We observe the system followed in Jagannath Puri. First the foodstuff is offered to Lord Jagannath and then His Prasad is offered to the different demigods; then we may take such remainders as prasadam

- What kind of guru? No publication, no preaching, simply bring some foodstuff. My Guru Maharaja used to say, "Joint mess," a place for eating and sleeping
- When a hungry man is given foodstuffs to eat, he feels three kinds of symptoms: satisfaction of hunger, strength & pleasure. Krishna Consciousness Movement is based on sincere service to the Lord. We shall always remember this, & then success is assured
- When I am taking my food, if I think, "Oh, this nice foodstuff is sent by Krsna. He has kindly sent me this foodstuff," so I think of Krsna. So that taking of foodstuff in Krsna consciousness is yoga-yukta. That is called yoga-yukta
- When one takes sannyasa... These are the processes. He is not practiced to beg from door to door. Therefore in the beginning he makes a cottage outside the village, and the foodstuff comes from his home. But he has no connection
- When Sudama went there, the brahmanas refused to offer anything, but the wives of the brahmanas, upon hearing that Sri Krsna wanted some foodstuff, immediately took many palatable dishes and went to offer them to Sri Krsna
- When there is a scarcity of food in India on account of meager rainfall, some members of the richer class very proudly distribute foodstuffs, making huge arrangements with the help of the government
- When we cook foodstuffs in the kitchen for eating ourselves, it is a different thing from the foodstuff which is prepared and offered to Krishna
- When you have got very nice foodstuff, and a very nutritious, palatable, sweet, why should you indulge in this unnecessary killing of animals? That is . . . will go against your purification. Therefore it is prohibited
- Where a rascal is not worshiped, where foodstuff is kept very carefully and when there is no fight between husband and wife, or family-wise there goddess of fortune is always present
- Why not be satisfied with simple foodstuff? If you eat grains and vegetables and light foodstuff, you'll never get fatty. You see? You'll never get fatty. Reduce eating as much as possible. Don't eat at night. Practice yoga like this
- Why not take it as God's land and produce enough foodstuff. There will be no scarcity. There will be no skeleton. And distribute it. Where is that consciousness?
- With the good will of the Supreme Personality of Godhead there can be enough fruits, grain and other foodstuffs produced so that all the people in the world could not finish them, even if they ate ten times their capacity
- With the rise of the sun, the activities of human beings are set up. They set fire to prepare their foodstuff; they set fire to start the factories, etc. So many things are done with the help of fire. BG 1972 purports

- You can arrange to supply prasadam only to our devotees. We are not in a position financially to distribute foodstuff for the poor class of men. Such men may take shelter of some charitable institution
- You can beat her (the cow) with a stick, but she will tolerate it. She will do that. Therefore an animal cannot undergo austerity. Our austerity is very nice. We chant Hare Krsna, dance, and Krsna sends very nice foodstuffs, and we eat. That's all
- You can give guest nice foodstuff, but even if you have got nothing at your home, this thing you can offer without any expenditure, without any botheration: to receive him, "Please come on, come here, sit down. Take a glass of water"
- You must understand, happiness means sense gratification. You can understand it very easily. If I get some nice foodstuff, because I satisfy my taste, palate, I feel happiness, - Oh, very nice food I am eating
- You produce your food grains. You eat sumptuously food grain, milk, and that will be available without any factory. The factory cannot produce milk or food grain. The present scarcity of foodstuff means everybody is engaged in the city
- You will find many healthy persons in India subsisting only on these vegetarian foodstuffs, and they have good brain also
- You'll find that your material disease is being cured by spiritual foodstuff. That is practical. Therefore it is spiritual
