- Yoga system which regulates the mode of living, the manner of sitting, selection of place, and detachment of the mind from material engagements. As a practical man, Arjuna thought it was impossible to follow this system of yoga. BG 1972 purports
- You haven't got to restrain yourself completely, but if you dovetail yourself, nirbandhah, when it is in relation with Krsna, then your vairagya, your detachment, is approved
- You may put a pot of milk & rice within fire, & the milk & rice are automatically heated one after the other. Similarly, due to bodily pains & pleasures, the senses, mind & soul are affected. The soul cannot be completely detached from this conditioning
- You must be detached. Vairagyam. Anabhisvangah. Putra-dara-grhadisu, family life. Putra means children. Dara means wife. Grha means home. In this way you have to be situated on the devotional service. Devotional service is not sentiment
- You must give something more palatable. Then detachment will be possible
- You should be detached from matter and attached to Krsna
- You should take up the process how to increase your attachment for Krsna, and then automatically detachment will be there. Rupa Gosvami gives example, that you are hungry. When you take food, gradually you become satisfied & your hunger is also satisfied
- Your real mercy has been granted to Ramananda Raya and Vaninatha Raya, for You have detached them from all material opulence. I think that I have not been favored by such mercy
