- A brahmana is called pandita because brahmana means one who knows Brahman. Brahma janatiti brahmanah. Therefore he is called pandita. In India the brahmana is addressed as pandita. Pandita means a brahmana is expected to know Brahman

- The brahmanas are produced from the mouth of the Supreme Lord. We should always remember that Lord Siva is being addressed as the representative of the Supreme Lord, Visnu
- The Lord has multifarious potencies. Since mother Laksmi, the goddess of fortune, is the Lord's very precious potency, she is addressed here as maha-maye. The word maya means sakti
- The Lord is addressed as isvara, the controller of maya. He is not controlled by maya
- The Lord is the source of the Ganges water, and therefore He is addressed here (in SB 8.17.8) as tirtha-pada, indicating that all the holy places are at His lotus feet, or that whatever He touches with His foot becomes a holy place

- Ultimately, if you have so much patience to make research, you can get from the sastras, you can get. So the original father of this universe is Lord Brahma; therefore he is addressed as Pitamaha

- We address a brahmana as panditji. Never we address a brahmana as murkhaji. So that is the etiquette. Brahmana means he must be very learned scholar and a very advanced devotee
- We advise everyone to address one another as Prabhu. Prabhu means master, so how the master should be disobeyed? Others, they are also pure devotees. All of my disciples are pure devotees
- We are taught to address others as Prabhu. Prabhu means master; and the leader of the masters is called Prabhupada
- We find the word bhagavan used twice in this verse (SB 5.4.3). Both King Indra and Rsabhadeva, the incarnation of the Supreme Lord, are described as bhagavan. Sometimes Narada and Lord Brahma are also addressed as bhagavan
- When Lord Siva is addressed as abhava, this may be taken to mean "one who has never felt material miseries
