A
- A class of men should be trained up for agriculture, producing food grain, and cow protection. Cow protection means you get the milk sufficient quantity, and from milk you get so many nutritious, full of vitamin food
- A first-class brahmana does not accept any rewards from his disciples or yajamanas. Practicing austerities and penances, he instead goes to the agricultural field and collects food grains left by the agriculturalists to be collected by brahmanas
- A government exacts various taxes from the citizens, such as income tax and sales tax, which the citizens are able to pay by their different material activities: agriculture, trade, industry and so on
- A huge arrangement exists for producting large-scale industrial & agricultural products, but all these products are meant for sense gratification. Therefore despite such productive capacities there is scarcity because the population is full of thieves

- Balarama represents plowing the land for agriculture and therefore always carries in His hand a plow, whereas Krsna tends cows and therefore carries a flute in His hand. Thus the two brothers represent krsi-raksya and go-raksya

- Education means nobody can live independently. One takes titles in education degrees, "agriculturist." But he does not go to the field actually to act as agriculturist
- Even the illiterate agriculturist would be a participant in the knowledge of Vedic literature, despite a considerable lack of academic qualifications
- Even you produce from your land, that is also God's mercy, because for agriculture, for example, if there is no rain, you cannot produce anything. Now, rain, you have no control over rain

- If an agricultural field is cultivated again and again, the power of its production decreases, and whatever seeds are sown there are lost
- If one becomes very rich through his professional activities, through trade or through agriculture, this does not mean that he is spiritually advanced. To be spiritually advanced is different from being materially rich
- If one is a businessman, an industrialist, an agriculturist, etc., then one should spend his hard-earned money for the cause of the Lord. Think always that the money which is accumulated is the wealth of the Lord
- If the Lord is sitting in the hearts of nondevotees, why are they not moved to become devotees? It may be answered that the stubborn nondevotees are like the barren land or alkaline field, where no agricultural activities can be successful
- In Bhagavad-gita the vaisyas are described as the natural agriculturalists, the protectors of cows, and the general traders. When Lord Sri Krsna incarnated Himself at Vrndavana, He took pleasure in becoming a beloved son of such a vaisya family
- In the agricultural fields there may be many mice, flies and other creatures that disturb production, and sometimes they are killed by pesticides. In this verse, however, such killing is forbidden

- Maharaja Nanda replied, "We are arranging, therefore, to pacify King Indra, because he has very kindly sent us clouds to pour down a sufficient quantity of rain for successful agricultural activities. Water is very important"
- Man's activities in agriculture, mining, farming, industries, gardening, etc., were all on the same scale as they are now, even previous to the present creation, and the same activities will remain as they are, even in the next creation

- Nanda is said to have possessed 9 hundred thousand cows, & at the time of Krsna (about 5000 years ago) the tract of land known as Vrndavana was flooded with milk and butter. Therefore God's gifted professions for mankind are agriculture & cow protection
- Nanda Maharaja belonged to the vaisya community, the agriculturalist community
- Nanda Maharaja was a landholder for King Kamsa, but because by caste he was a vaisya, a member of the mercantile and agricultural community, he maintained thousands of cows

- Save time and utilize for advancing in Krsna consciousness. That is perfect life. Just like Vrndavana. Vrndavana life means agriculturist - cowherd boys, uneducated girls, cows and calves and tree, fruits. This is Vrndavana. The center is Krsna

- The brahmana is the first-intelligent class of men, the ksatriyas the next intelligent class of men, and the vaisyas, or the mercantile class of men, interested in money by trade, commerce, agriculture, industry
- The bull helps in the agricultural process of producing grain, etc., and thus in one sense the bull is the father of humankind, whereas the cow is the mother, for she supplies milk to human society
- The citizens were rich in agriculture and animal husbandry, and therefore they had enough grains, fruits and milk without any artificial needs of soaps and toilets, cinemas and bars

- The sastra recommends: the vaisya section of humanity should arrange for the food of the entire society through agricultural activities & should give full protection to the cows, which are the most useful animals because they supply milk to human society
- The sea water must be distilled. It must be made into sweetness. Then such rainfall will give you some effect in producing agricultural production and so many things
- The social classes can be further characterized as follows: (3) He who is engaged in agriculture, herding cows and carrying out a trade or business is called a vaisya

- Those who tend to produce food by agricultural methods, protect cows and other animals and engage in trade are called vaisyas, or merchants
- Trade is meant only for transporting surplus produce to places where the produce is scanty. But when traders become too greedy and materialistic they take to large-scale commerce and industry and allure the poor agriculturalist

- Vaisya who can actually give protection to the cows and produce agricultural products and trade. And sudras, ordinary laborer class. There must be divisions. They must be trained up
- Vaisya, he has got also specific duty. What is that? Cow protection and agriculture. That is the duty of vaisya
- Vaisyas should earn their livelihood through agriculture and cow protection, and sudras should maintain their livelihood by serving the three higher classes

- Why you are making big, big plan of big, big factories? You take to this process for your economic problem solved. Krsna advises, krsi-go-raksya-vanijyam vaisya-karma svabhava-jam (BG 18.44). This is the agriculture, cow protection, trade. No industry

- You can have practical solutions of all problems such as social, religious, cultural, political, economic as well as agricultural and industrial - from the Bhagavad-gita. It is possible only simply by assimilating it by direct perception
