- Powerful administrators are rulers of the poor citizens by dress or office, but factually they are worthless, lower-class men without the cultural assets of the twice-born
- Protection of bulls and cows and all other animals can be possible only when there is a state ruled by an executive head like Maharaja Pariksit. Maharaja Pariksit addresses the cow as mother, for he is a cultured, twice-born, ksatriya king

- Unless one is completely pure and has been raised to the standard of a brahmana, ksatriya or vaisya - in other words, unless one is dvija, twice-born - the chanting of mantras will not be fruitful
- Unless one is twice-born one cannot understand the transcendental characteristics of the Lord and His devotees. Study of the Vedas is therefore forbidden for sudras

- We are talking of how to come to the vipra stage. The 1st stage, everyone is on the sudra platform. Then by purificatory process, by understanding of this Vedic knowledge, janmana jayate sudrah samskarad bhaved dvijah, that by initiation he is twice-born
- We have discussed this point, that either brahmana, ksatriya, vaisya, especially dvijottama . . . The brahmanas are called dvijottama. Dvija means twice-born, one birth by the father and mother and the other birth by Vedic knowledge and spiritual master
