- A temple president should have more time for preaching. That is important

- All necessary expenditures will be paid by check from the Book Fund. For petty expenses, not exceeding Rs. 200 - may be kept with you always and everything should be accounted for with vouchers
- All of our members are giving voluntary service, so they should always be encouraged in their service attitude
- All our managers should be spiritually advanced simple and honest in carrying out the orders of the spiritual master and Krsna. That will be a nice standard
- All printing of ISKCON literature must be by the BBT or under their sanction and approval

- Building is not very important. Work is important. Activity is important. I started my movement not with buildings, but real activity. So building is opulence. You can do without opulence. You can start anything, even underneath a tree

- Closing a temple we cannot do. It becomes a farce and is against the bhakti cult. Our principle must be to carefully consider before opening any temple, and once opened it cannot be closed

- Find out from the bank manager what the balance of these two accounts are and send the information to me immediately. Also, what is the progress with the municipal affairs?
- For Bhaktivedanta Trust there is no need of contribution. Then there will be exemption certificate required and so on. We don't want any contribution. If anyone wants to contribute, let him contribute to the ISKCON. They're tax-free
- For our disciples, we don't give anything cheap. Our first condition is character, moral character. Unless one is accepting moral character, we don't initiate, don't allow him in this institution

- Gaurasundara was a representative of ISKCON, but he cannot sell and take the money. This is an illegal implication
- GBC as a body, they should give direction to the sannyasis

- Have you not heard me on this point? Why these questions are repeated again and again? This individual begging must be stopped. So many questions, it's not good at all
- He is big leader, and if it is common knowledge that he is using such intoxicants, the others will follow his example and there will be havoc throughout the society. That would be a catastrophe
- He may be treated as a guest, if he comes to our center, give him prasadam, honor him as an elder Vaisnava, but he cannot speak or lecture. If he wants to lecture, you can tell him that there is already another speaker scheduled. That's all
- He must live separately from the devotees, and if he continues this thing he may be requested not to associate with any of our devotees further
- Henceforward I am not sanctioning any more marriages, and those who want to marry must know in advance and be prepared to make outside income to support wife and home separately from the temple, and in the temple husband and wife shall live separately
- His (Syamasundara's) proposal for preaching from village to village in our own bus is very much appreciated by me. I have already instructed him to do this immediately and you also encourage him
- His service can be once again very much valuable there in Australia, I know he is very good boy. Do not drive him away, that will be the discredit to all of you leaders

- I (Prabhupada) am making many Sannyasis here in America, and I am convinced that our movement must run on this extensive traveling and preaching system

- Sannyasis are meant for preaching only. That is the principle. But, contrary to the principle if things are being embezzled then how can I save them
- $70,000. or $80,000. should have been collected, but Karandhara has only collected $24,000. So where is the rest of the money? This means that the money is not being collected properly. What can be done?
- Show yourself as an ideal Vaisnava, then you are my representative in fullness. We are not after titles and designations
- Simply become more concerned with increasing the spiritual content of our lives, and in this way all other problems like management will be easily solved, not that they can be solved by making some legal formula and having big big meetings and talks
- Simply taking from persons, and if I cannot manage nicely, that does not look well
- So any member can come to our temples and live as long as he likes and take free prasadam. So if any Indians students come here as our member, we shall welcome him and give him a place as well as prasadam free of charge
- So far as the money is concerned, it is not meant for banking, but it is meant for spending. Our policy should be to collect millions of dollars or more than that daily, and spend it daily

- Temple is meant for rendering service to the Lord. So if anyone is rendering service to the Lord, he can live. But not for sense gratification. Those grhasthas who still have desire for sense gratification, they may live outside
- Temple or asrama means for renunciation and renounced persons. If one is engaged in self-realization process, then his material necessities become almost nil. Persons who do not like this can work outside
- That "kovida" we shall give. "Puja-kovida", "Pracara-kovida"
- That is mosquito and gun. (laughter) Student, you have got four. And managers? Three hundred. One manager requires three rooms, another four rooms. This is waste. One manager, first see at least fifty students. Then you can become manager
- That is my open secret. Print books, and distribute, and spend half in whichever life you do and half, again print books
- That is the art of management: to draw out spontaneous loving spirit of sacrificing some energy for Krishna
- That is the business of leader: He must be himself always enthusiastic and inspire others to be always enthusiastic. Then he is real leader
- The (Bhetnama) room is his for his lifetime only, it is not that anyone coming after him or his sons or family after his demise can use the room

- The president, secretary and treasurer (of Calcutta) elected by the members of the center cannot be changed at least for one year; better to continue it for three years. All combined together should be responsible for keeping correct accounts

- There must be such management and or such arrangement that we must have always good association for advancement. That is required
- There should be a formal contract signed by both parties at each marriage, voting that there will be no separation and that man and wife will work cooperatively in Krishna Consciousness
- There should be arrangement for distribution of information to all the devotees if there is some important question, not that I shall have to continue answering over and over the same thing
- There should be ideal life, at least the leaders, the president, the GBC. They will show the example, and they will follow. Then it is beneficial. And all of them are fools? Then it is fool's paradise

- This fighting spirit will destroy everything, but what can I do, you American and European boys are trained up in this fighting attitude
- This initiation. I have deputed my disciples. Is it clear or not?

- This is the biggest institution of spiritual activities so everyone of us should be spiritually strong. Otherwise, superficially if we want to manage, it will not be possible
- This is the duty of a sannyasi, to travel amongst all of our centres for elevating the standard of devotional service
- This Krsna consciousness movement, they are appreciating. So all the charity should come here. Then it is properly utilized. Because we do not use a single paisa for anything of sense gratification
- This movement can be pushed on vigorously so long we are devotees, otherwise it will be finished. It cannot be conducted by any outsiders. No. Only the devotees. That is the secret. So long we remain devotees, our movement will go, without any check
- This question-begging is going on, even some of the important men are doing like that, that I know. So how I can say your question from here?
- This removal of the president is very unconstitutional. The devotees who do not like to work with Tejas should immediately go away from the temple. But he may not
- This should be strictly outlawed, no more sannyasis. And those sannyasis who have fallen, you get them married, live like a... No more this showbottle, cheating. It is very ludicrous

- Those who are responsible should be very frugal to see that not one penny is unnecessarily spent
- Those who collect contributions on behalf of ISKCON should be very careful not to use even a farthing of the collection for any purpose other than the transcendental loving service of the Lord
- Three times in one week changing presidents, this will ruin the whole thing
- To supervise this essential Krishna Conscious activity requires a very fastidious person, one who can remember everything and be very conscientious to prepare everything nicely, be timely
- Too much competition between centers is not good, the emphasis should be on cooperation, not competition
- Too much official control is not good in spiritual life. The centers should remain spiritually fit and independent. Some control must be there as is now. Too much control means so many vouchers. Gradually it will become a mundane institution
- Try to convince Gaurasundara and Siddha-svarupa to return to ISKCON and let us forget whatever has happened in the past
- Try to manage the whole world organization and all GBC men, suppose I am not there
- Try to process the work in the above way and let me know how far it is feasible

- Uninitiated couples cannot be married by us. We shall not take the responsibility of an ordinary marriage maker. Our practice is to help devotees for advancing in Krishna Consciousness
- Unless all of my students become very much fixed up in their spiritual progress, what is the use of so many programs for expansion?
- Unless one agrees to follow all of our principles, he may not be allowed to live at the temple. This must be our policy

- Unless we get local devotees it is very difficult to maintain. So try to maintain the center with local devotees, that is my urgent desire
- Unless we take care of the books and preach and read ourself, understand the philosophy, this Hare Krsna will be finished within few years

- We are in very good, prestigious position. That is sure. Don't spoil it. So much hard labor. I started with very humble condition. Now it has come to this, such exalted position. You don't spoil it. That is my request
- We are interested in preparing acarya, but the etiquette is, at least for the period the guru is present, one should not become acarya. Even if he is complete he should not
- We are not going to rent anyone, anyway, any room. We shall utilize it for our purpose only, receiving guest, organizing this book sale. That is my idea
