- A devotee cannot execute the order of anyone except the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This is the position of a devotee. Hiranyakasipu could understand that this boy (Prahlada) must have been very powerful, since the boy did not heed his orders

- Krsna says practical way: annad bhavanti bhutani (BG 3.14). Annad. You have . . . you must have sufficient food grains for the living entities - animal or man. This is practical
- Krsna worship is so easy, universal. Other worshiping method you have to collect so many things, then you can worship. Or you must have temple, you must have church, you must have worshiping place. But Krsna is everywhere
- Ksatriya, he should be very brave, not to go away from fighting. He must have a ruling capacity. He must be charitable. In this way, ksatriya must execute his system of life

- Laborer class of men, they are considered to be the legs of the Supreme Lord. So anyone in this society, or in this human society or material world, they must have some situation. There is some positive position of everyone in the body of the Supreme
- Lord Caitanya and all His devotees, naturally enthusiastic although agitated, must have made a great noise with their loud cries
- Lord Caitanya instructed Raghunatha dasa that it is useless to leave worldly connections out of sentimentality or artificial renunciation. One must have the real thing at heart

- Markata-vairagya means that a monkey is renounced. He does not dress, naked. And he lives in the forest. And he eats also fruit, vegetarian. But the nature is that he must have at least three dozen wives
- Material existence means to be always hankering and lamenting. I must have a new automobile, I must have more money, I must have good wife
- Material prosperity means that the people must have sufficient to eat or to maintain the body and soul together in sound health for further development in spiritual consciousness
- Men with the lowest qualities cannot do any work that requires higher intelligence. However, although such a division of men must exist according to their quality and work, it is suggested here (SB 7.14.11) that everyone must have the necessities of life
- My advice to you under the circumstances is that at least for one hour you must all go to have Sankirtana outside on the streets or in the park. That is your life and soul, first business
- My suggestion is that either in Calcutta or in Delhi we must have our own press with good equipments so that we may be able to broadcast the message of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu in all the important languages specially in Hindi and in English
- My uncle, you must have visited Dvaraka. In that holy place are our friends & well-wishers, the descendants of Yadu, who are always rapt in the service of Krsna. You might have seen them or heard about them. Are they all living happily in their abodes?

- Negation is no good. You must have some positive gain. So this Krsna consciousness movement is negation of the materialistic way of life and regain the blissful eternal life of spiritual understanding. So simply negation is no gain
- No good man will say like that (You must have intoxication, take illicit sex life). That is the difference between good man and bad man
- No one can attain spiritual perfection by physical strength. One must have the spiritual strength which is infused by Balarama, or Sankarsana. Ananta, or Sesa, is the source of the power which sustains all the planets in their different positions
- No ordinary man is allowed to enter that planet (the moon). Even those admitted there after death must have performed the prescribed duties to satisfy the pitas and devas. Yet even they are sent back to earth after a fixed duration of life - on the moon
- Nobody is working uselessly. He must have some gain. But one who does not utilize that gain for his sense gratification but works as a matter of duty, karyam karma karoti sa sannyasi sa yogi ca. Such person is actually a sannyasi and yogi

- Of course nothing is possible without the sanction of the Supreme Will of Sri Krishna but still man-made laws must have defects as the lawmakers are deficient in four primary principles of a conditioned soul
- Oh, don't try to understand in a minute. You read all these books. But attentively, if the child has form, the father must have form. There is no doubt of it. And what is that form? That you have to understand

- Ordinary men think that a yogi must have an ivory earring in his ear, but this is not the sign of a real yogi. Maharaja Prataparudra also thought that to become a mendicant yogi, one must wear such an earring
- Ordinary people, they are working day and night very hard, but what is the purpose? The purpose is sense gratification. The same desires, strong desires that, "I must get it done; I must have it," for Krsna, then it becomes Krsna consciousness
- Our physical necessity is that we want to eat. That is necessary to maintain this body, ahara. Nidra, rest. We must have some rest also. So ahara-nidra-bhaya. Bhaya means "to become afraid of." That is material nature
- Our Vedic advice is that make life very simple. You must have some means of livelihood. Keep your body and soul together. So according to quality, guna-karma-vibhagasah (BG 4.13), there must be division, and then simple life

- Society must have divisions of brahmana, ksatriya, vaisya and sudra, and for spiritual advancement one must gradually develop as a brahmacari, grhastha, vanaprastha and sannyasi
- Some knowledge will not do. You must have perfect knowledge (BG 4.9): janma karma ca me divyam evam yo vetti tattvatah. Tattvatah means "perfectly." Perfect knowledge is being taught in Bhagavad-gita

- Tattvam, the truth, so one must have seen the truth, realized the truth. Tad-vijnanartham sa gurum evabhigacchet (MU 1.2.12). That is guru, means one who has seen the truth. How he has seen the truth? Through the parampara system
- That is dharma, discipline, to abide by the state laws. There must be some discipline. Similarly, to make yourself advanced to spiritual life, you must have to observe the discipline. Without discipline, it is not possible
- That is very essential, the varnasrama-dharma, because we must have the aim of life. At the present moment there is no aim of life. The aim of life is sense gratification, that's all. Indriya-trpti. That is forbidden in the sastra
- That much intelligence, we must have that intelligence, that who is master. Suppose if you want gold, if you do not know where gold can be purchased, then he is cheated

- The captain is the spiritual master, and this body is a very good ship. These are the examples given. We have to cross over this material ocean. So we must have a captain and good ship, and favorable air
- The company is authorized and the airline is authorized, so faith is created. Without faith we cannot take one step forward in the ordinary course of our life. Faith we must have, but it must be faith in that which is authorized
- The complete whole is not formless. If He is formless, or if He is less than any other thing, then He cannot be the complete whole. The complete whole must have everything within our experience and beyond our experience. BG 1972 Introduction
- The constitutional position of the dog is that it must have a good master. Then he is happy. Then he's happy. Otherwise it is not happy. Is it not? Otherwise it is a street dog. Sometimes it is killed by the municipality
- The country where Prthu Maharaja resided must have been India because it is stated in the eleventh verse of this chapter (SB 4.21) that he lived in the tract of land between the rivers Ganges and Yamuna
- The cow is very, very important animal. If you want to advance your spiritual consciousness, then you must have sufficient milk and sufficient grains. That is civilization. Therefore it is the duty of the vaisyas to produce food grain
- The disciple also, he must have also qualification to approach a spiritual master. It is not that because you have got a bona fide spiritual master, therefore you will be benefited. You must be also qualified
- The first thing is one must have rigid, staunch faith in Krsna. That is the qualification. Other things may be little deviation. It doesn't matter. The first thing is whether he is sticking to Krsna consciousness. Then he is sadhu
- The four social orders - the brahmanas, ksatriyas, vaisyas and sudras - are natural divisions of human society, and as declared by Prthu Maharaja, every man in his respective social order must have proper employment for his livelihood
- The gopis continued, "O blackberries and bael trees and trees of the kadamba flower - you are all very pious trees to be living on the bank of the Yamuna. Krsna must have passed through this way. Will you kindly let us know which way He has gone?"

- The gopis said: "Dear earthly planet, how many austerities and penances you must have undergone to have the lotus feet of Krsna always touching your surface"
- The incident narrated by Hiranyakasipu from history must have taken place millions of years ago because Hiranyakasipu lived millions of years ago and was even then quoting from history
- The King thought to himself: Persons who have no son are certainly fortunate. They must have worshiped the Lord in their previous lives so that they would not have to suffer the unbearable unhappiness caused by a bad son
- The ksatriyas must be, must have some land to collect taxes. That is the ksatriya's source of income. The brahmana's source of income, pathana pathana yajana yajana ... They must be learned scholar, they must teach others
- The ksatriyas, they must be fearless; they must be very boldly, face . . . fighting the enemies; they must have the capacity to govern nicely so that people will not have any complaint against the government
- The living entity must have some activity. If he does not engage in the activity of transcendental service, he must fall down to material activity. As soon as one falls down to material activity, there is no rescue from the cycle of birth and death
- The Lord asked, "Why has Raghunatha dasa stopped inviting Me?" Svarupa Damodara replied, He must have reconsidered something in his mind
- The material nature is not at all beautiful, for it is an "imitation peacock." The real peacock is a different thing, and one must have the sense to understand this
- The material world is the perverted reflection, so the spiritual world must have the same variegatedness, but in reality. BG 1972 purports
- The Mayavadi sannyasis renounce this world (brahma satyam jagan mithya). It is very good to preach renunciation of the world, but side by side we must have attraction for something, otherwise our renunciation will not remain

- The means is also Krsna, and the end is also Krsna. That is Absolute. Absolute . . . we must have clear conception of what is the Absolute. In any circumstances, the quality of the Absolute remains the same
- The mind must have some engagement. One cannot make the mind vacant. Of course there are some foolish attempts to try to make the mind vacant or void, but that is not possible
- The mind must have some occupation. If a person is to be free of material things, his mind cannot be vacant; there must be subject matters for thinking, feeling and willing

- There are so many stories of imperfect kings or executive heads. Therefore, the executive head must be a trained person like Maharaja Yudhisthira, and he must have the full autocratic power to rule over the world
- There is a vast amount of water in the Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean. What quantity of chemicals was required? How many tons? So who supplied it? Somebody must have supplied it. So that is science. You can teach like that
- There must be such management and or such arrangement that we must have always good association for advancement. That is required
- There were walls like those in the palace of Maharaja Uttanapada even very recently, during the Mogul period. Anyone who has seen the Red Fort in Delhi must have marked that the walls are made of marble and were once decorated with jewels
- These are his (a spiritual master's) two qualifications: he must have heard the Vedic knowledge through the disciplic succession, and he must be established in service to the Supreme Lord
- These are preliminary necessities of life. One must have a good place to live. One must have sufficient nice foodstuff to eat. Eating, sleeping, mating - this is physical necessities

- Those who are managers of this institution, they must always know that we cannot make this institution or this center as a brothel. There must be such management and or such arrangement that we must have always good association for advancement
- To appear in the material world the Lord selected His mother and father - namely Prsni and Sutapa, respectively. Whenever the Lord comes as a human being, He must have a mother & father, so He selected Prsni & Sutapa perpetually as His mother and father
- To be chanting the holy name of Your Lordship, they must have bathed at holy places of pilgrimage, studied the Vedas and fulfilled everything required
- To be omnipotent, He (the Absolute Personality of Godhead) must have not only unlimited potencies but limited potencies also. Thus to exhibit His omnipotency He displays both
- To go to the moon, one must have the qualification of pious activities. Then one may go there and live. If one has gone to the moon, why should he return to this planet, where life is of a very short duration
- To keep oneself fit to work hard, one must eat meat, and to digest meat, one must drink liquor, and to keep the balance of drinking wine and eating meat, one must have sufficient sexual intercourse to keep fit to work very hard like an ass
- To own a certain piece of land is the basic civilization. Everyone must have a portion of land to produce his food. There will be no economic problem
- To understand Krsna superficially, that is not sufficient. That is also good, but you must have tattvatah, what is Krsna actually. That knowledge can be achieved - bhaktya, by this krsna-yoga
