- Madayanti bore the child within the womb for seven years and did not give birth. Therefore Vasistha struck her abdomen with a stone, and then the child was born. Consequently, the child was known as Asmaka ("the child born of a stone")
- Maharaja Pariksit associated with the Lord even from the womb of his mother up to the last day of his valuable life, and thus he acquired all the essential good qualities of the Lord in all perfection

- There are three degrees of covering of the living entity by which his pure consciousness is obscured. This covering is but lust under different manifestations like smoke in the fire, dust on the mirror, and the womb about the embryo. BG 1972 purports
- There is no death. Death means I give up this body, enter the womb of another mother's body

- Yamaraja took birth in the womb of the kept wife of Vicitravirya (as Vidura) from the semen of Vicitravirya's brother, Vyasadeva. Vyasadeva is the son of Satyavati by the great King Santanu, the father of Bhismadeva
- Yogamaya naturally could not see how it was possible for her to attract Sankarsana (from the womb of Devaki to the womb of Rohini). Therefore Krsna addressed her as subhe, auspicious, & said, "Be blessed. Take power from Me, & you will be able to do it"
