- A brahmin is estimated the high-class man. Why? That is also materially estimation. But if he has no devotion to the Lord, then that is . . . that means he has no spiritual qualification

- Gopis, who were the exalted friends of Krsna, saw Krsna constantly, but because their eyelids disturbed their vision of Krsna, the gopis condemned the creator, Lord Brahma

- Haridasa Thakura is the incarnation of Lord Brahma, and other devotees are likewise incarnations who help in the prosecution of the Lord’s mission
- Having come to understand that even Lord Brahma is not immortal because at the end of the millennium Lord Brahma will also die, Hiranyakasipu is very carefully asking him for benedictions that will be almost as good as immortality
- He (Daksa) was born of a great brahmana father, Lord Brahma, but his treatment of Lord Siva was not exactly brahminical; therefore he admitted that he was not a perfect brahmana

- He (Ramananda Raya) compared his tongue to a stringed instrument, saying, "You are the player of that instrument." Thus as Lord Caitanya would play, Ramananda Raya would vibrate the sound
- He (The demigod Pusa) could not use his teeth for eating, since he had laughed at Lord Siva, deriding him by showing his teeth. In other words, it was not appropriate for him to have teeth, for he had used them against Lord Siva
- He (Vidura) accepted Krsna as his worshipable Lord and followed His instructions wholeheartedly
- He has written a very nice, authorized book on Lord Caitanya in German language, and it is very big, paperback, five hundred pages. It is approved by the Sweden University, and he has sent me. So even a German gentleman, he is taking so much interest

- How can there be meaning to the word "lord" if there is no one to overlord? The conclusion is that the living entities are considered to be expansions of the energy of the Supreme Lord, and the Lord, the Personality of Godhead, Krsna, is the energetic

- I (Lord Brahma) adore the primeval Lord Govinda, in accordance with whose will Durga conducts herself
- If a person in the mode of goodness happens to hear this Mayavadi philosophy, he falls down, for when teaching Mayavadi philosophy, I (Lord Siva) say that the living entity and the Supreme Lord are one and the same
- If out of ignorance one does so (imitating the activities of the rasa-lila), he will be destroyed, just as if he were to imitate Lord Siva, who drank poison produced from the ocean
- If we say, "Krsna, I surrender unto You. My Lord, I don't want anything material," then you are mukta, liberated. And if you keep the standard, maya will not touch you. Then after giving up this body, you go back to home, back to Godhead
- If you can inject this Krishna Consciousness to the young children, it will be a great service to the humanity and to the Lord
- Ignorance is manifested in a collective and individual sense. Collective ignorance is called visuddha-sattva-pradhana. When that visuddha-sattva-pradhana is manifest within the ignorance of material nature, it is called the Lord
- In Bhagavad-gita (BG 10.2) Lord Krsna states, aham adir hi devanam: Lord Visnu, or Krsna, is the origin of all demigods, including Lord Brahma and Lord Siva
- In Bhagavad-gita, the Supreme Personality of Godhead says, BG 10.8 - Krsna is the origin of everything. BG 7.19 - Krsna is everything. BG 9.4 - everything rests in the body of the Lord, yet the Lord is not everywhere

- Lord Brahma is described in this verse (SB 7.3.28) as the original cause of the cosmic manifestation, and this applies to his position in the material world. There are many, many such controllers, all of whom are created by the Supreme Lord, Visnu
- Lord Brahma is the first created being within this universe and is empowered by the Supreme Lord to create
- Lord Brahma obtained his supreme position due to long austerities and penances, mystic yoga, meditation and so on. Hiranyakasipu wanted a similar position
- Lord Brahma prays in his Brahma-samhita (BS 5.38): I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, the Supreme Personality of Godhead under whose control even the sun, which is considered to be the eye of the Lord, rotates within the fixed orbit of eternal time
- Lord Brahma saw that Krsna, in His form as a cowherd boy, was Parabrahman, the root cause of everything, but was now appearing as a human child, loitering in Vrndavana with a morsel of food in His hand
- Lord Brahma saw that the calves and boys he had taken were still in the same mystic maya into which he had put them. Thus he concluded that the calves and cowherd boys now playing with Krsna were different from the ones in the cave
- Lord Brahma takes advantage of the three modes of material nature. prakrti, material nature, is described here as tri-vrta, the source of the three material modes. Srila Madhvacarya comments in this connection that tri-vrta means prakrtya
- Lord Brahma was able to see how Krsna maintains the entire universe in different ways. It is because Krsna manifests everything that everything is visible
- Lord Brahma was waiting for the austerities performed by Hiranyakasipu to mature so that he could go there and offer benedictions according to Hiranyakasipu's desire
- Lord Brahma, being especially empowered, is infallible in doing whatever he wants. This is the meaning of the word amogha radhasa - in SB 7.3.22
- Lord Brahma, Lord Siva and the other demigods returned to their respective abodes, but Indra did not, for he was disturbed at having killed Vrtrasura, who was actually a brahmana

- Lord Caitanya further informed Prakasananda Sarasvati: Because I have full faith in My spiritual master's words, I am always engaged in chanting Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare
- Lord Caitanya practically demonstrated Krsna consciousness yoga simply by chanting the holy names of Krsna as they were mentioned in the Vedanta, Srimad-Bhagavatam and many important Puranas
- Lord Caitanya says that the living entity is eternally a servitor of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Sri Krsna. Therefore, every living entity has a particular type of service relationship with the Lord, eternally
- Lord Krsna is the original creator, and Lord Brahma is the original engineer
- Lord Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the source of all incarnations and the cause of all causes

- Lord Siva and his followers in the parampara system try to save people from this dangerous condition of materialistic life (which is like a blazing forest fire). This is the duty of devotees following the principles of Lord Siva
- Lord Siva and Lord Visnu, however, are affectionate even to an imperfect brahmana. Lord Siva punished Daksa not as one does his enemy; rather, he punished Daksa just to bring him to his senses, so that he would know that he had done wrong
- Lord Siva is an expansion of Lord Visnu, yet because of his taking part in the annihilation of the cosmic manifestation, he is considered to be changed, like milk converted into yogurt
- Lord Siva is by nature a Vaisnava, a great devotee, and his name in this connection is Asutosa. He is always satisfied, and therefore he did not become angry as if he were an enemy. He is not inimical to any living entity
- Lord Siva is called Asutosa. So many demons go to bother him: "Give me this. Give me that." And his name is Asutosa. He gives him immediately: All right, you take it. Go away
- Lord Siva is called pasupati because he protects the living entities in their developed consciousness so that they may follow the Vedic system of varna and asrama
- Lord Siva is described as midhustama, the best of the benedictors. He is also known as Asutosa, which indicates that he is very quickly satisfied and very quickly angered
- Lord Siva is known as Asutosa. Asutosa means very quickly, very easily he becomes pleased. That is Lord Siva's great qualification
- Lord Siva is known as pasupati, the protector of the brahmanas and other living entities. He protects them from the attacks of non-brahmanas, or uncultured persons who are against the self-realization process
- Lord Siva is simultaneously an expansion of Lord Visnu and, in his capacity for annihilating the creation, one of the living entities
- Lord Siva is the husband of Sati, one of the sisters of Diti. Diti invoked the pleasure of her sister Sati so that Sati would request her husband to excuse her. Besides that, Lord Siva is the worshipable lord of all women
- Lord Siva is the proprietor, or the supreme person within this material world, and he is asutosa, very easily pleased. Therefore materialistic person go to him for some material benefit, and he gives. That's all
- Lord Siva says, As far as Bhagavatam is concerned, I may know it, or Sukadeva or Vyasadeva may know it - but actually Bhagavatam is to be understood by devotional service and from a devotee, and not by one's own intelligence or by academic commentaries
- Lord Siva says: In the beginning of the Dvapara-yuga, directed by My orders, many sages will bewilder the people in general by Mayavadi philosophy
- Lord Siva's name is Asutosa. He's very quickly becomes pleased to offer benediction, therefore generally people go to Asutosa, Lord Siva. He does not consider. If you can please him, you can take any kind of benediction from him. He'll be ready
- Lord Siva, and Lord Buddha is incarnation of Krsna. So they come for particular purpose, to benefit the whole world. But that is for the time being. That is not permanent. The permanent solution is matam ca vasudevasya
- Lord Sri Ananta is worshiped by all the uncontaminated devotees mentioned above - Lord Brahma, Lord Siva, the four Kumaras (Sanaka, Sanatana, Sanandana and Sanat-kumara), Vyasadeva, Sukadeva Gosvami and Narada
- Lord Visnu is addressed as amrta, transcendental. The demigods, including Brahma and Lord Siva, were produced after the creation, but Lord Visnu existed before the creation. He is addressed, therefore, as amrta

- Maharaja Yudhisthira was saying - My dear Lord Vidura, people like you always carry Lord Visnu in their hearts. You can revitalize all holy places after they have been polluted by the pilgrimages of sinners
- Mahesvara, or Lord Siva, is not an ordinary living being, nor is he equal to Lord Visnu
- Mosquitoes, jackals, dogs and other varieties of dandasuka, or animals whose bites are poisonous, drank the poison of the samudra-manthana, the churned ocean, since it was available after it fell from the palms of Lord Siva

- Nondevotees, cannot see the Lord face to face; to such persons the Lord appears as death and takes away all their possessions by force
- Not to speak of you (the Yamadutas), if even Lord Brahma or I (Yamaraja) were to punish them, Lord Visnu would punish us. Therefore do not disturb the devotees any further
- Now Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu will disassociate Lord Siva from Mayavada philosophy in the following verse - CC Adi 7.114

- O Lord, killer of the demon Naraka! Let me (King Kulasekhara) reside either in the realm of the demigods, in the world of human beings, or in hell, as You please
- O my Lord! I (King Kulasekhara) have no attachment for religiosity, or for accumulating wealth, or for enjoying sense gratification. Let these come as they inevitably must, in accordance with my past deeds
- O my Lord, the hymns of the Vedas proclaim that You (Sesa Naga) are the effective cause for the creation, maintenance and destruction. But in fact You are transcendental to all limitations and are therefore known as unlimited - SB 5.17.21
- On the day when Lord Brahma had first come, Baladeva could not go with Krsna & the cowherd boys, for it was His birthday, & His mother had kept Him back for the proper ceremonial bath, called santika-snana. Therefore Lord Baladeva was not taken by Brahma
- Once a poor brahmana worshiped Lord Siva for a benediction, and Lord Siva advised the devotee to go to see Sanatana Gosvami. The devotee went to Sanatana Gosvami and informed him that Lord Siva had advised him to seek out the best benediction from him
- One can understand the Supreme Personality as He is only by devotional service. - (BG 18.55) The SP of Godhead is not properly understood even by Lord Siva or Lord Brahma, what to speak of others, but He can be understood by the process of bhakti-yoga
- One cannot reach this conclusion (that Lord and his Holy Names are identical) unless one is offenseless in chanting the holy name
- One considers himself the lord of everything and tries to enjoy the illusory energy, but he is not successful because he is not independent: he is but a minute particle of the energy of Lord Sankarsana
- One has to learn very cautiously how, what is the purpose of why Lord Buddha came, why Lord Siva and Sankaracarya came, why other acaryas came, why Caitanya Mahaprabhu came. It requires thorough study under able guidance. Then one can understand
- One may be a first-class prisoner, one may be a third-class prisoner, but it is prison house. Similarly, anyone who is in this material world - never mind whether he is Lord Brahma or the insignificant ant - they are more or less all criminals
- One may get various opportunities to lay down his life on the battlefield, but such an opportunity (to give the Lord charity) as this is hardly ever obtained
- One must clearly understand that this human body is the most suitable ship to take us across the ocean of nescience, the spiritual master is the best navigator, the scriptures are the rudder, and the Lord's mercy is the perfect wind
- One should know by the cultivation of real knowledge that he is not lord of material nature; the Supreme Personality of Godhead is the Lord. BG 1972 purports
- One should not consider Yamaraja an ordinary living being. He is as good as Lord Brahma. He has the complete cooperation of the Supreme Lord, who is situated in everyone's heart
- One should not try to imitate Lord Siva. Lord Siva can do whatever he likes, but those who try to imitate Lord Siva by smoking ganja and other poisonous things will certainly be killed because of such activities
- One thing you may inform all devotees that Maya cannot touch a pure devotee: When you find a devotee is supposed in difficulty it is not the work of Maya but it is the work of the Lord by His Personal internal energy
- One who accepts these conclusions (of the sastras) should be considered a first-class philosopher. Such a philosopher knows that the Supreme Personality of Godhead is the Lord of the demigods
- One who equates Narayana even with great exalted demigods like Lord Siva or Lord Brahma is a pasandi, an agnostic. No one can equal Narayana
- One word in this verse (SB 3.21.33) is very significant. The Lord is stated here to be pratyag-aksaja. He is imperceptible to material senses, but still He can be seen. This appears to be contradictory
- Out of His causeless mercy only, the Lord comes to this earth and leaves behind His merciful activities so that the devotees may derive transcendental benefit

- People generally go to Lord Siva, and because he is always quickly satisfied and gives benedictions to his devotees without consideration, he is called midhustama, or the best of the benedictors
- People take the shelter of Asutosa, Lord Siva, for quick result. But Lord Visnu is not like that. If you want something extraordinary from Lord Visnu, it is not possible. He'll not give
- Persons who are simply attached to Vedic rituals, without further advancement of devotional service, or Krsna consciousness, are almost like animals, and Lord Siva is in charge of giving them protection and sometimes punishing them, as he punished Daksa
- Prahlada has compassion for such people (who are unnecessarily working so hard simply for the gratification of the senses): naitan vihaya krpanan vimumuksa eko. My Lord, I do not need salvation alone. Unless I take all these fools with me, I shall not go
- Prajapati, Lord Brahma, came from Narayana, Indra came from Narayana, and the eight Vasus, the eleven expansions of Lord Siva and the twelve Adityas also came from Narayana

- Raksasas and demons worship various demigods, such as Lord Brahma and Lord Siva, just to take the post of these demigods
- Ramananda Raya was expert in understanding these highly elevated dealings between Radha and Krsna, and he composed a nice song which he narrated to the Lord
- Ravana was a great devotee of Lord Siva, but when Lord Ramacandra wanted to kill him, Lord Siva could not protect him

- Saintly persons like Sanaka, Sanatana and Lord Brahma were able to see the entire universe, by the mercy of the Lord, through knowledge of the Lord
- Saktyavesa-avatara, they are counted just like Lord Buddha, Jesus Christ. They are counted amongst the saktyavesavataras. They are also incarnation of saktyavesavatara, powerful. In this way the Supreme Lord manifests all over the universes
- Sanatana Gosvami informed him (the poor brahmana), Actually, this is not the best benediction. But are you prepared to take the best benediction from me? The brahmana said, Yes, sir. Lord Siva has sent me to you for the best benediction
- Seeing the impudence of the goddess of fortune, Svarupa Damodara Gosvami wanted to inform Caitanya about the superexcellence of the gopis’ loving affairs. He said, My Lord, I have never experienced anything like the behavior of the goddess of fortune
- She (Radharani) is so extraordinarily beautiful that even the goddess of fortune and Parvati, the wife of Lord Siva, desire elevation to Her standard of beauty
- Skanda, the son of Parvati and Lord Siva, is the chief of all military commanders. And of all bodies of water, the ocean is the greatest. These representations of Krsna only give hints of His greatness. BG 1972 purports
- Sometimes an ever-liberated personal associate of the Supreme Personality of Godhead descends into this universe just as the Lord descends
- Sometimes it is found among exalted personalities like Lord Brahma that the wife and children are not a cause of bondage. On the contrary, the wife actually helps further spiritual life and liberation
- Sometimes, we see that the word bhagavan is used for great personalities like Lord Brahma, Lord Siva and Narada Muni. This is the case with Prthu Maharaja, who is described here (in SB 4.23.30) as the best of the bhagavans, or the best of the lords
- Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura sings: My Lord, if You want me to take birth and accept a material body again, kindly do me this favor: allow me to take birth in the home of Your servant, Your devotee
- Starting from Lord Brahma to an ant, whoever accepted this material body, is suffering their karma. Karmic reaction is pious and impious activities. The reaction of pious activities is also one kind of suffering
- Suniti cited the example of Lord Brahma, who was Dhruva Maharaja's great-grandfather. Although Lord Brahma is also a living being, by his penance and austerity he acquired the exalted position of creator of this universe by the mercy of the Supreme Lord

- The brahmanas are produced from the mouth of the Supreme Lord. We should always remember that Lord Siva is being addressed as the representative of the Supreme Lord, Visnu
- The brahmanas indirectly criticized the followers of Lord Siva, but because the brahmanas were always protected by Lord Visnu, Siva's followers could not do any harm to their prosecution of the sacrificial process
- The demon addressed Him (the Personality of Godhead) as suradhama. Sura means "the demigods," and adhama means "Lord of all there is." He is Lord of all the demigods; therefore He is the best of all demigods, or God
- The demoniac person thinks: I am the lord of everything, I am the enjoyer, I am perfect, powerful and happy. I am the richest man, surrounded by aristocratic relatives. There is none so powerful and happy as I am
- The devotee demigods and the demons (asuras) once took a sea journey. On this journey, nectar and poison were produced, and Lord Siva drank the poison. BG 1972 purports
- The devotees of the Lord who voluntarily take the responsibility of raising the foolish materialistic sense enjoyers are as confidential to the Lord as Lord Brahma
- The disciplic succession from Lord Brahma is called the Brahma-sampradaya
- The eleven Rudras, expansions of Lord Siva, come out of Lord Sankarsana's eyebrows due to His angry mood, and all of them together devastate the entire creation
- The entire material universe is called Devidhama, and above it there is Sivadhama, where Lord Siva and his wife Parvati eternally reside
- The essential difference is that Lord Siva has a connection with material nature, but Visnu or Lord Krsna has nothing to do with material nature
- The first living entity to come out was Lord Brahma, who is independently able to create the rest of the manifested universe
- The first step will be cleansing of the heart. And in the heart there is God, already. Isvarah sarva-bhutanam hrd-dese 'rjuna tisthati (BG 18.61). The Lord is situated in everyone's heart
- The great austerities and penances he (Hiranyakasipu) had performed for so many years could not give him protection from death. This was foretold by Lord Brahma
- The greatest personality within this universe is Lord Brahma, and Dhruva Maharaja wanted a position even greater than his
- The impersonal and localized conceptions of the Supreme Lord are more or less materially contaminated. The real spiritual process is bhakti-yoga. As the Lord says, bhaktya mam abhijanati: (BG 18.55) "Only by devotional service can I be understood
- The ingredients and cause of the material cosmic manifestation are described as follows: O my Lord! Time, activity, providence and nature are four parts of the causal aspect (maya) of the external energy
- The Laghu-bhagavatamrta gives the following description of the Visnuloka within this universe: Above Rudraloka, the planet of Lord Siva, is the planet called Visnuloka, 400,000 miles in circumference, which is inaccessible to any mortal living being
- The Lord (Caitanya) began to speak on Vedanta philosophy as follows: Vedanta-sutra is spoken by the Supreme Lord Himself. The Supreme Lord, in His incarnation as Vyasadeva, has compiled this great philosophical treatise
- The Lord foretold to Kardama Muni that He would appear in His incarnation Kapiladeva and would propagate the philosophy of Sankhya
- The Lord has nothing to do with anyone's protection or destruction, but for the creation, maintenance and annihilation of this material world He apparently has to act either in goodness, in passion or in darkness
- The Lord is spread throughout the creation in His quadruple expansions and incarnations
- The Lord knew Dhruva Maharaja's childish ambition, but how was it possible to offer Dhruva a position more exalted than Lord Brahma's
- The Lord personally appeared to Bali Maharaja to take away everything he had, and thus he was so fortunate that he could see the Lord face to face
- The Lord says that, "You cannot stop your work, neither you can enjoy the activities, the fruit of your activities." That is the work on spiritual plane
- The Lord says, "It is not necessary that one become very expert in Vedic knowledge before he can become My bhakta, or devotee
- The Lord says, “Only I existed before the creation.” From this statement, four slokas have been composed, and these are known as the catuh-sloki (SB 2.9.33/34/35/36). In this way the Supreme PG informed Lord Brahma about the purport of the catuh-sloki
- The Lord supplies the necessities of all living entities. These necessities come from the earth, and thus the earth is the source of supply
- The Lord's resounding voice was tumultuous and echoed horribly in all directions as an open threat to all demons who might challenge His omnipotency
- The Madhva-Gaudiya-sampradaya in particular comes from Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu
- The Mayavadi philosophy claims to be directed by the Vedic conclusions. Lord Siva, however, admits that this philosophy is manufactured by him in the age of Kali in order to mislead the atheists
- The nails of the Lord pierced through all these layers and made a hole penetrating into the spiritual world. From this hole, the water of the Ganges infiltrated into this material world, and therefore it is said, pada-nakha-nira janita jana-pavana
- The name tamasi does not indicate that He has a material body. He is always transcendental, but because He is the Supersoul of Lord Siva, who must perform tamasic activities, Sankarsana is sometimes called tamasi
- The original creator is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna (janmady asya yatah (SB 1.1.1)); Lord Brahma is the secondary creator
- The performance of yajna by Daksa was obstructed by the disciples and followers of Lord Siva
- The post of Lord Brahma is meant for very highly elevated, spiritually advanced living beings. When such living beings are unavailable, Lord Visnu, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, expands Himself as Lord Brahma. This takes place very rarely
- The principles of religion are known to these 12 personalities - Lord Brahma; the great saint Narada; Siva; 4 Kumaras; Kapila, the son of Devahuti; Svayambhuva Manu; Prahlada; King Janaka; grandfather Bhisma; Bali Maharaja; Sukadeva Gosvami; & Yamaraja
- The Supreme Lord, being the Supersoul in every living entity, including Lord Brahma and Lord Siva, is directing everyone in the activities of the material modes of nature
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Hari, is always uncontaminated by the modes of material nature, He is beyond the material manifestation. He is the source of the knowledge of all the demigods, headed by Lord Brahma, and He is the witness of everything
- The unlimited spiritual atmosphere of Vaikuntha-dhama is far above and beyond the material cosmos. This is confirmed in the Svayambhuva-tantra, in a discussion between Lord Siva & Parvati regarding the effect of chanting the mantra of fourteen syllables
- The Vedas say, svadharma-nisthah sata janmabhih puman virincatam eti: "One who strictly follows the principles of varnasrama-dharma for at least one hundred births will be rewarded with the post of Lord Brahma
- The Vedic literature, which is sung by Lord Brahma or Siva or a devotee, even that is broken language presented, tad grnanti srnvanti sadhavah: "They'll be accepted by saintly person. They'll sing it and they'll accept it." That is the secret of success
- The whole sacrifice arranged by King Daksa had been disturbed by Lord Siva. Therefore all the demigods present there, along with Lord Brahma and the great sages, specifically requested Lord Siva to come and revive the sacrificial fire
- The word nathah, which refers to Lord Brahma, is plural because there are innumerable universes and innumerable Brahmas. Brahma is but a tiny force. This was exhibited in Dvaraka when Krsna called for Brahma
- The word pasu refers to the animal as well as to the human entity. Lord Siva is always interested in protecting the animals and the animalistic living entities, who are not very advanced in the spiritual sense
- The world revolves because every living being thinks that he is the lord and creator of the material world. BG 1972 Introduction
- The yajna arena was desecrated by the presence of Lord Siva's followers, headed by Virabhadra, and therefore the entire arena had to be sanctified
- There are eleven expansions of Rudra, or Lord Siva. They are as follows: Ajaikapat, Ahibradhna, Virupaksa, Raivata, Hara, Bahurupa, Devasrestha Tryambaka, Savitra, Jayanta, Pinaki and Aparajita
- There are five other transcendental qualities (of Krsna) which can be seen in Visnu, the Supreme Lord, and partially in Lord Siva also, but they are not visible in ordinary living entities
- There are four lines of disciplic succession: one from Lord Brahma, one from Lord Siva, one from Laksmi, the goddess of fortune, and one from the Kumaras
- There are four Vaisnava sampradayas, and the Rudra-sampradaya is one of them because Lord Siva (Rudra) is the best of the Vaisnavas (vaisnavanam yatha sambhuh). Indeed, as we shall see, Lord Siva drank all the poison for the benefit of humanity
- There are many instances wherein the husband becomes the spiritual master. Lord Siva also is the spiritual master of his consort, Parvati
- There are three original deities - Brahma, Visnu and Mahesvara. Hiranyakasipu knew that Brahma would not kill him, but he also wanted not to be killed by Lord Visnu or Lord Siva. Consequently, he prayed for such a benediction
- There are twelve great authorities on devotional service, and Lord Siva is one of them. Why, then, did he adopt the process of Mayavadi philosophy? The answer is given in Padma Purana
- There is also a prayer in the Vedic literature that states: My Lord, You are the well-wisher of the cows and the brahmanas, and You are the well-wisher of the entire human society and world. BG 1972 purports
- There may be many gods, from Brahma, Lord Siva, Indra and Candra down to the rulers of the lower planetary systems, the presidents, ministers, chairmen and kings. In fact, anyone can think that he is God. That is the false, puffed-up conviction
- These Visnu forms appearing before Lord Brahma possessed the mark of Srivatsa and the Kaustubha gem, which are special characteristics possessed only by the Supreme Lord. This proves that all these boys & calves were in fact directly expansions of Visnu
- They (animals in Daksa's sacrificial arena) should not have been killed, as they were by Lord Siva to replace the head of Daksa with an animal's head . It was pleasing to see an animal sacrificed and rejuvenated, & that pleasing atmosphere had been lost
- This (Mohini-murti) form assumed by the Personality of Godhead challenged the goddess of fortune. The goddess of fortune is beautiful, but if the Lord accepts the form of a woman, He surpasses the goddess of fortune in beauty
- This (stopping samsara) can be done only when one is Krsna conscious, or has achieved the service of the lotus feet of the Lord. Otherwise one must rot in this material world and accept a material body subject to birth, death, old age and disease

- You cannot understand why Lord Buddha denied the authority of Vedas - to keep you in darkness. He wanted to stop animal-killing, and he preached ahimsa, nonviolence. That was his mission
