- A devotee in an immature position of devotional service may, if offered great opulence, fall from his position due to being in the material world, the Lord (Krsna) does not offer opulence to him

- Dasya-rasa is the basic relationship between Krsna and His devotees; therefore it is considered to be the first stage of transcendental devotional service
- Determination is the first qualification. As confirmed by Rupa Gosvami, One must first have firm determination, firm faith. When one engages in devotional service, he must maintain this firm determination. Then Krsna will be pleased with his service
- Devotees are more merciful than the Lord, and in devotional service the mercy of a devotee is more valuable than the mercy of the Lord

- Jaya and Vijaya, descended to the material world to serve the Lord by fulfilling His desire to fight. Otherwise, as Maharaja Yudhisthira says, asraddheya ivabhati: the statement that a servant of the Lord could fall from Vaikuntha seems unbelievable
- Just as the Ganges is sacred because its water emanates from the toes of Narayana, so whenever water or anything is in touch with devotional service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, it is purified and spiritualized

- Kamsa was the enemy of Krsna. He always thought of Krsna, but he thought of Him as an enemy. One should always avoid such unfavorable so-called service
- King Prthu said, "Even if the goddess of fortune is not satisfied with me, I know You (Krsna) will always accept my service anyway"
- Krsna accepts everyone's devotional service if it is offered with love and affection
- Krsna can provide anything and everything within a moment, but He waits to test a devotee. And when the devotee comes out successful from the test, He gives him all opportunity for devotional service
- Krsna cannot be captured even by great yogis traveling at the speed of the mind. He can be captured only by those who follow the path of devotional service, and Kalayavana was not practiced in devotional service
- Krsna certainly fulfills the desires of His devotees who come to Him in devotional service, but He does not fulfill desires that would again cause miseries
- Krsna consciousness means understanding the truth of Krsna, the truth of devotional service, the truth of love of Godhead, the truth of emotional ecstasy, the truth of transcendental mellows and the truth of the pastimes of the Lord
- Krsna consciousness, devotional service to Krsna, is the ocean of eternal bliss. In comparison to this eternal bliss, the so-called happiness of society, friendship and love is simply useless and insignificant

- Krsna replied, "My dear kings, your decision to give up all conceptions of material enjoyment and turn instead toward My devotional service is factually the symptom of your good fortune. Henceforward you will always be blessed with blissful life"
- Krsna replied, "My dear kings," He said, "I bestow upon you My blessings. From this day forth you will be attached to My devotional service without fail. I give you this benediction, as you have desired"
- Krsna replied, "One should not be disturbed by duality but should always be fixed in My devotional service and thus remain balanced in mind and satisfied in all circumstances, considering all things to be given by Me"
- Krsna replied, "Your (Yudhisthira's) brothers are great heroes & you are the most pious & self-controlled king & are therefore known as Dharmaraja. All of you are so qualified in devotional service to Me that I have automatically been conquered by you"
- Krsna said to Narada, "O best of the brahmanas, I wish that you may develop unalloyed devotional service to Me, which is full of transcendental bliss and all auspiciousness"
- Krsna said to Uddhava, "My dear Uddhava, devotional service unto Me is just like a blazing fire which can burn into ashes unlimited fuel supplied to it"
- Krsna said to Uddhava, "Persons who are already elevated in discharging devotional service will never again take shelter of the processes of fruitive activities or philosophical speculation"
- Krsna said to Uddhava, "you may know it from Me, the attraction I feel for devotional service rendered by My devotees is not to be attained even by the performance of mystic yoga, philosophical speculation, ritualistic sacrifices, the study of Vedanta"
- Krsna said, "O Nalakuvara and Manigriva, now you can go back to your father's residence in the heavenly planets, and by remaining in the attitude of devotional service, you will be liberated in this very life"
- Krsna said, "One should be fixed in devotional service. Thus one can live a very happy & peaceful life, even within this material condition. In other words, one should be callous to the material body & its by-products and should be unaffected by them"
- Krsna said, "unalloyed devotional service and affection for Me are the cause of supreme liberation"
- Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita (BG 18.55), bhaktya mam abhijanati: "Only by devotional service can I be understood." One can understand Krsna, the Parabrahman, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, only through devotional service
- Krsna says that "One who is engaged in devotional service to Me without any deviation," that means twenty-four hours in Krsna consciousness, "he is pure"

- Lord Krsna told King Yudhisthira that He is conquered by the love of one who has conquered his senses. One who has not conquered his senses cannot conquer the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This is the secret of devotional service
- Lord Krsna, indebted to the Pandavas' devotional service, sometimes acted as their messenger, and He guided them through many dangerous situations. Therefore Maharaja Pariksit should not have been saddened because Lord Krsna did not appear in his family
- Lord said: O Arjuna, I have already explained that there are two classes of men who realize the Self. Some are inclined to understand Him by empirical, philosophical speculation, and others are inclined to know Him by devotional work. BG 3.3 - 1972
- Lord Siva said, "A person who possesses a human body but who cannot bring his senses under control is carried away by the waves of sensual enjoyment. As such, he cannot take shelter of Your lotus feet and thus engage in Your devotional service"

- Maharaja Yudhisthira knew the science of Krsna very well, for it is stated here that by continuous cultivation of this science, or by continuous devotional service to Lord Krsna, he acquired the qualification of administering the state
- Man and woman should live together as householders in relationship with Krsna, only for the purpose of discharging duties in the service of Krsna
- Mango seeds are very relishable, and those in the devotional service of Radha and Krsna enjoy them

- Neither the karmis nor the jnanis can fathom the depths of the science of devotional service to Krsna. Especially the foolish karmis are disqualified, for they generally consider Lord Krsna an ordinary mortal
- Neither through astanga-yoga, nor impersonal monism or an analytical study of the Absolute Truth, nor study of the Vedas, nor austerities, charity or acceptance of sannyasa can one satisfy Me as much as by developing unalloyed devotional service unto Me
- Nonetheless, when such a person associates with a great saint like Narada, he engages in Lord Krsna's devotional service
- Not only does the person who serves the Supreme Lord serve his relatives, but he also serves the entire world of moving and nonmoving living beings. Thus service to Lord Krsna is the prime cause of world peace and harmony
- Now my advice to you is to give up these feelings and return to your life of Krishna Consciousness devotional service

- O Dhananjaya, keep all abominable activities far distant by devotional service, and in that consciousness surrender unto the Lord. Those who want to enjoy the fruits of their work are misers
- O Dhananjaya, rid yourself of all fruitive activities by devotional service, and surrender fully to that consciousness. Those who want to enjoy the fruits of their work are misers. BG 2.49 - 1972
- O great sage (Maitreya), please give me (Vidura) instruction on the transcendental devotional service of the Lord

- One who has attained his constitutional position by the strength of devotional service attains a transcendental body even in this lifetime. Being attracted by Lord Krsna's transcendental qualities, he fully engages in service at His lotus feet
- One who is desiring to have the eternal bliss of association of Lord Krsna by devotional service must be the sincere servant of Nityananda Prabhu, and in that way win His grace. Therefore your name is Nityananda Das, servant of Lord Nityananda
- One who is not a pure devotee of the Supreme Lord Krsna is not completely cleansed in the heart. But a perfectly cleansed person never quits the devotional service of the Lord
- One who is performing devotional service without any deviation, ananya-bhak, undivided mind, simply unto Krsna, he is sadhu

- To understand Krsna and to understand the service of Krsna is very exalted post. Brahma-bhutah. One has to become brahma-bhutah, completely liberated. Then he can understand how to render service to Krsna

- Ultimately, as stated by the Lord in the Bhagavad-gita, bhaktya mam abhijanati: (BG 18.55) only through execution of devotional service can one understand Krsna
- Unalloyed devotion means service to the Lord without desire for the above-mentioned personal benefits. And the powerful Personality of Godhead Sri Krsna can be fully satisfied by such unalloyed devotees free from all sorts of desires for personal benefit
- Unaware of His transcendental potencies, the impersonalists deride the person of Lord Krsna, whereas the devotees, by dint of their service attitude, can understand Him as the Personality of Godhead
- Unless one discharges devotional service, one cannot awaken one's dormant love for Krsna, and there is no means for attaining Him other than awakening that dormant love
- Unless one is attached to Krsna, he cannot attain devotional perfection even if he renders devotional service for a long time. Krsna does not easily deliver perfection in devotional service
- Unless one is properly trained by a mahat - a mahatma, or unalloyed devotee of the Lord - there is no possibility of one's understanding Krsna and His devotional service
- Unless one is pure devotee, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. By devotional service, if you want material prosperity, Krsna can give you. Krsna can. Whatever you want, Krsna can give you. But that is not pure devotion
- Unless one practices devotional service to the Lord, one cannot know Krsna as He is (tattvatah), even though one is a great scholar or philosopher
- Unless the karmis, jnanis and yogis come to the point of devotional service to Lord Krsna, their so-called austerities and yoga have no value
- Utilize what talents you have already in Krishna's service and He will give you the intelligence to increase more and more

- We are always thinking how we can do something nice to please Krsna with some service or other, or we are reading literature about Krsna or speaking about Krsna. In this way we are always remembering Krsna and that is our natural conscious state
- We should not desire anything except serving Krsna. That is our fulfillment of life
- We should not desire anything except we simply desire how to serve Krsna, how to remain a pure devotee of Krsna. Then our life is successful
- What, then, is the use of fruitive activities - which are naturally painful from the beginning and transient by nature - if they are not utilized for the devotional service of the Lord? How can they be very attractive
- Whatever you have earned, that is zero. But if you have attempted to serve Krsna with all these zeros, then you have taken some value
- When a devotee is ultimately situated in association with Krsna, his position is called steadiness in devotional service

- When in the heart of a devotee there is expectation of some mishap to Krsna it is called devotional service in bereavement. Such bereavement is another symptom of this devotional service in compassion

- You (Krsna) are the maintainer of the entire universe, and devotional service to You is the highest religious principle. Therefore, I pray that You will also maintain me. Your transcendental form is covered by the yoga-maya
- You (Sanatana Gosvami) will also have to explain Krsna's devotional service, establish centers for cultivation of love of Krsna, excavate lost places of pilgrimage and teach people how to adopt the renounced order
