- A brahmana is not butcher. Neither a ksatriya. Ksatriya fights, kills, but in regular religious fight. Not that by whimsically he'll fight and kill men. No. So here it is said, nijagrahaujasa virah
- A Krishna conscious person must be seen by ears and not by the eyes or in other words one should try to know the depth of realization by Krishna conscious person and not see the beard which has become the practice of the Hippies
- According to the Vaisnava philosophy, a devotee is as good as Narayana not by becoming Narayana but by becoming the most confidential servant of Narayana
- According to Vedic culture, one has to judge by the result. Not by if you simply talk nonsense, one has to accept
- Actual, we have to study, phalena pariciyate. We have to study things by the result, not by propaganda. By false propaganda if you study something, that is not studied. You have to see the result. Phalena pariciyate
- Actually we are understanding about the sun not by our direct eyes but through the authoritative knowledge, through the sastra, through the books. Sruti-pramanam. That is evidence
- Adhoksaja means beyond our sense perception. Therefore we have to know Krsna from Krsna, not by our speculation. Krsna may . . . that is frog philosophy. Frog philosophy. He's simply calculating with reference to his teeny well, three feet
- Although sometimes a materialist becomes very opulent in the eyes of another materialist, such opulence is bestowed upon him by the goddess Durgadevi, a material expansion of the goddess of fortune, not by Laksmidevi herself
- Although we cannot test, but sastra gives us the chance of testing. We accept spiritual master by testing, not by blind faith. No. According to the Vedic instruction, tad-vijnanartham
- Always remember that we are selling books not for making business but for pleasing Krsna, and by preaching we should sell books, not by cheating
- An incarnation of God is such from the very beginning of His life. It is not that by performing meditation one can become an incarnation of God all of a sudden. Such false incarnations are meant for fools and rascals, not sane men
- Annad bhavanti bhutani parjanyad anna-sambhavah. Parjanyat. When there is sufficient rain, then there will be food grains, not by your advaita-vada philosophy or dvaita-vada philosophy. These are practical solution
- Any question, any problem, it is solved not by the whims of the student, but it is solved by the expert master by explaining it very elaborately
- As confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita (8.22), He (Krsna) can be approached only by unalloyed devotional service and not by the processes of jnana (philosophy), yoga (mysticism) or karma (fruitive work)
- As explained in Bhagavad-gita, it is not by any father or mother that the living entity is given his birth. The living entity is a completely separate identity from the so-called father and mother
- At the time of his (Dhruva Maharaja) death he would remember the Supreme Lord, and before his death he would enjoy this material world, not by sense gratification, but by performing great sacrifices
B
- Before Vyasadeva's writing, the Vedic literature was simply heard, and the disciples would learn the mantras quickly by hearing and not by reading
- Bhagavatam is to be understood by devotional service, and not by academic commentaries
- Bhakti is not achieved by studying. Bhakti stage is achieved by practice. That is the special significance of our institution, that we are engaging our men in practicing. Therefore they are getting knowledge - not by reading
- Brahma can approach the Supreme Lord Visnu, not by seeing Him directly but by standing on the shore of the ocean of milk
- Business must be done by the grhasthas, not by the sannyasis or brahmacaris
- By literary contribution, one's intelligence is tested. All big, big men of the material world, scientists, philosophers, even technicians, they are recognized by their writings, by their contribution, not by their gigantic body
- By rendering such (constant) devotional service (to Krsna with love) only, and not by merely acquiring a bulk of discriminative knowledge, can we know the Supreme Lord as He is
- By the grace of Krsna, not by academic qualification. We have to acquire the grace of Krsna. Then we can understand Krsna. Then we can see Krsna. Then we can talk with Krsna. Then we can do everything. He is a person
- By the karma-bandhana, we are transmigrating from one soul, one body to another. This is not Darwin's theory. I am the soul. I am changing, I am selecting my body, in this life. Not that by nature there is a, I mean to say, gradual evolution
C
D
- Devotees who are correctly situated in a transcendental relationship with Krsna are attracted by loving features, not by a godless display of opulences. BG 1972 purports
- Dhruva Maharaja attained this perfection not by acting hastily, but by patiently executing the order of his spiritual master, and therefore he became so successful that he saw the Lord face to face

E

- Everyone is open to become a harijana, but not by rubber stamp but by training. That training is required. People are avoiding the training and simply speculating in the mind, foolishness. How the world can improve? There must be training
G
H
- He (Krsna) is always with His associates and paraphernalia. For instance, if someone says, "Give something to eat to the man with the weapons," the eating process is done by the man and not by the weapons
- He (Lord Krsna) is further explained in Srimad-Bhagavatam, which is considered the explanation of the Vedanta-sutra. Lord Krsna is accepted as the Supreme Personality of Godhead by these authentic scriptures, not simply by vox populi
- He (the Lord) is like the vaidurya stone, which changes color yet still remains one. All those multi-forms are understood by the pure, unalloyed devotees, but not by a simple study of the Vedas: vedesu durllabham adurllabham atma-bhaktau
- How this realization (spiritual) takes place? Not by academic education, but by sincerity. If one is very sincere, that he wants to know what is spiritual science, what is God, what is self, what is Superself, what is this world, what is spiritual world
- Human prosperity flourishes by natural gifts and not by gigantic industrial enterprises. The gigantic industrial enterprises are products of a godless civilization, and they cause the destruction of the noble aims of human life
I
- If one tries to understand Krsna, as He is, not by fiction, not by speculation, not by so-called scholarly, foolish commentation, but Krsna should be understood as He is. Then, that is right Krsna consciousness
- If the qualities of one group are found in the men of another, those men should be recognized by their qualities, by their symptoms, not by the caste of the family in which they were born
- If there is scarcity of such qualified Brahmins which I honestly think there is, we should combine to evolve such Brahminical culture not by blind faith but by sound reasoning & questioning. But all the same we must be sincere and thorough in our attempt
- If you associate with this transcendental incarnation, sound incarnation of God, then you will be gradually godly. You will be godly. You can become godly with God's association, not by any other material, extraneous thing. No
- If you cannot understand, then you have to put questions very humbly, pranipatena, not by challenging. Pranipata. Pranipata means very humbly submitting oneself
- If you do business and you earn money and spend it for Krsna consciousness, that is also bhakti. That is also bhakti. Just like vivid example is Arjuna. Arjuna is a fighter, and by fighting, he became a devotee; not by chanting Hare Krsna
- If you get pure water, then thirst is quenched, "Oh, I am satisfied." Because taste is there in the clear water, not in colored water. Similarly, Krsna says, super - sense gratification, can be achieved by your transcendental sense, not by covered sense
- If you place your loving tendency to Vasudeva, then vasudeve bhagavati bhakti-yogah. This can be done perfectly by bhakti-yoga, not by any other. There are different yoga systems
- If you want to know Krsna tattvatah, in truth, then you have to go through this bhakti process, not by your speculative process. Krsna is not open to your sensual gratification
- If you want to make the world perfect, then not by karma, neither by mental speculation. That is not possible. The only means is bhakti, especially in this age
- If you wish to live separately you have to earn your livelihood by business, by taking some employment to maintain your home and family. But not by chanting in the street; this is not a good idea for householders
- In our practical life, we are attracted by the greatness of a person and not by the greatness of a big mountain

- In the society the brahmana is the topmost division of human society, not by caste or by birth but by qualification
- In the spiritual world the highest, topmost level of love, parakiya . . . parakiya means love not by marriage life; by friendship. That is there. But there is no such inebriety. It is pure

- Indian independence was achieved not by Gandhi's non-violence method but (by) Subhas Bose's violence method. And he wanted to explain nonviolence from Bhagavad-gita. Just see, another foolishness

- It is not by any kind of transcendental activity - neither fruitive action, nor the cultivation of knowledge, nor cultivation of mystic yoga - that a person can achieve the highest perfection without adding a tinge of devotional service
- It must be approved by great acaryas. We are pushing on this Krsna consciousness not by whims. It is approved by great acaryas. We are following their footsteps. That's all. That is our business
K
