- Actually He (the Supreme Personality of Godhead) is not different, but this material world is simply a transformation of His different energies
- After creation, He (the Absolute Truth) remains the same person: He is not transformed into everything
- Although He (the Supreme Lord) is all-pervading, still He is a person. According to our material perception, if something is all-pervading, then it has no personality, no localized aspect. But God is not like that
- Although His (God's) material energy is utilized to create the material world, this does not mean that He is covered by that energy. Those who are covered by the material energy are called conditioned souls
- Although the Lord is not visible in the beginning because of His glaring bodily effulgence, if a devotee sincerely wants to see Him, the Lord is revealed to him
- Although the material energy is an emanation of the Supreme Lord, He is not affected, as we are, by the modes of material nature
- Although the Supreme Personality of Godhead is the ultimate doer of everything, in His original transcendental existence He is not responsible for the happiness and distress, or bondage and liberation, of the conditioned souls

- As stated in Brahma-samhita (BS 5.38): One can see the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Govinda, always, within oneself and outside oneself, if one has developed the transcendental loving attitude toward Him. Thus for people in general, He is not visible
- As stated in the Brahma-samhita (BS 5.33): I (Brahma) worship the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Govinda, who is the original person - nondual, infallible, and without beginning. Although He expands into unlimited forms, He is still the original
- As the Lord is not affected by the modes of material nature, so a pure devotee of the Lord is also not affected by the modes of nature. That is the primary qualification for being one with the Lord
- As the sun is full of light only, similarly the Absolute Personality of Godhead, beyond the material existence, is full of bliss. He is not only full of bliss, but also full of transcendental variegatedness
- Avirbhava is a manifestation of the Lord that appears even though He is personally not present
B
- Because everything is produced of His energy and exists on His energy, the energy is not different from Him - but still the Lord declares, "I am not there
- Because He (the Supreme Personality of Godhead) is not under the influence of the element of time, for Him there is no difference between past, present and future; He exists in His own transcendental form at all times - SB 10.9.13-14
- Because Lord Visnu is not within the jurisdiction of the material qualities, He is always superior to the living entities who are controlled by the material energy. This is one of the differences between the Supreme Lord and the living entities
- Because of his advanced devotional position, the younger brahmana knew that although the Deity of Gopala appeared to be stone, He was not stone. He was the son of Nanda Maharaja, Vrajendra-nandana Himself
- Because the Lord is not an object that can be understood by speculation with our material senses, He is also called ajita; He will conquer, but no one can conquer Him. What does it mean, then, that still He can be seen
- Because the Lord is not directly perceived in Kali-yuga but is directly known in the other three yugas, His name is Triyuga
- Because they went to the church with some motive and the motive was not fulfilled, they became atheist. Therefore this type of devotion is not pure devotion. Motive... God is not meant for supplying your orders
- Before the creation He (God) was there in the eternal abode, and after the annihilation He will continue to remain. He is not, therefore, one of the created beings. He is transcendental
- Bhagavan is not that when amongst His foolish disciples, He declares Himself Bhagavan, and when there is some toothache, He goes to the physician to help Him. Bhagavan is not like that. Bhagavan is self-sufficient. So everything is full
D
- Devahuti is sayin, "Although You (God) personally are not doing anything, Your determination is absolute. There is no question of Your fulfilling Your will with the help of anyone else besides Yourself. You are the Supreme Soul and the supreme controller
- Devaki said - You are not limited to a particular form only; all such transcendental, eternal forms are self-sufficient. I can understand that You are the Supreme Lord Visnu
- Devotees worship the Supreme Lord to attain unalloyed devotion to the Lord. The Lord is not worshiped by others, who have no program for attaining love of God, which is the essential aim of human life

F

- From the other explanations of the previous verses (BG 9.1-10) in this chapter (of BG), it is clear that the Supreme Personality of Godhead, although appearing like a human being, is not a common man. BG 1972 purports
G
- God cannot be forced to come down. Then He is not God. You see? If God but comes here, comes down by His own pleasure. You cannot force Him. We get this information from Bhagavad-gita
- God is not a petty thing, that He dies, or one is manufactured by meditation, he become God. This kind of God has no value. God is always God
- God is not conquerable, but He becomes conquerable, He is conquered, by a devotee who gives up this nonsense process of understanding Him by his limited knowledge and becomes submissive
- God is not meant for supplying your orders because He takes service. He does not serve anybody. So if we want to bring God for our service, we may be disappointed because God does not agree to serve anybody
- God is not responsible for the living entity's accepting different types of bodies. One has to accept a body according to the laws of nature and one's own karma
- God is not such a subject matter that you can see with this pratyaksa, direct perception. God's another name is Anubhava. Anubhava. Just like in this room we do not see the sun directly. But we know that there is sun
- God is not visible to everyone. He is visible - "Here is God" - but those who have not developed the eyes to see God, they think, "Here is a doll, and these foolish people are worshiping a doll." No. He is God, Krsna
- God is undoubtedly omniscient, but the personified Vedas say that even God Himself does not know the full extent of His energies. This does not mean that God is not omniscient
- God maintains all other living entities, but no one can maintain God. That is His svacchanda-sakti; He is not dependent on others

- He (God) is asking that you surrender. He is not forcing. God can force you - He is all-powerful - but He doesn't interfere with your independence
- He (God) is not directed by the dictation of the senses, but the conditioned souls or the individual living entities are servants of the senses
- He (God) is not forced to appear or disappear by any superior energy, as the living beings appear and disappear, being forced by the laws of nature
- He (God) is not obliged to take birth like human beings or animals, which repeatedly take birth and die because of ignorance of the soul
- He (God) is not only within the universe, but within the atoms also. He is within the heart of every living entity. Garbhodakasayi Visnu, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, entered into everything
- He (God) is not perceivable by the conditioned souls, who are accustomed to material vision and cannot understand that the Supreme Personality of Godhead exists in His abode, which is beyond that vision
- He (God) is not required to do anything personally, but everything in the material world is carried out by His wishes and direction; the entire material manifestation is situated in Narayana, the Supreme Personality of Godhead

- He (Maha-Visnu) is not obliged, but he takes pleasure. Just like sometimes we take pleasure in the swimming pool, lie down and closing our eyes. Who are expert swimmer, they're lying down. Why it is not possible for the Supreme Lord
- He (the Lord) is not actually dependent, but He likes to be dependent upon His devotee. This is His mercy
- He (the Lord) is not attached to anything. Na mam karmani limpanti: although He acts very wonderfully, He is not at all attached to anything (BG 4.14). He is self-sufficient

- Here (in BG 9.4) it is said that although He (God) is all-pervading, everywhere present, He is yet not conceivable by the material senses. But actually, although we cannot see Him, everything is resting in Him. BG 1972 purports
- Hiranyakasipu marked Prahlada's observation and asked him, "Where is your God?" Prahlada Maharaja replied, "He is everywhere." Then Hiranyakasipu asked, "Why is He not in this pillar before me?"
I

- If God is not a person, then how His sons become persons?
- If one sincerely prays to God for material possessions in exchange for devotional service, the Lord, who is not foolish like such an unintelligent devotee gradually gives him the intelligence to be satisfied only by rendering service to His lotus feet
- If one sincerely prays to God for material possessions in exchange for devotional service, the Lord, who is not foolish like such an unintelligent devotee, shows him special favor by taking away whatever material possessions he has
- If the Lord is able to change the reactions of one's past deeds, then certainly He is not Himself bound by any action or reaction of His own deeds. He is perfect and transcendental to all laws
- If you take to this (Krsna Consciousness) process and follow the principles, what will be the result? As soon as you understand, you will know that the Supreme Lord is the cause of all causes, but that He is not caused by any other cause
- In BG (9.4) Krsna says: "By Me, in My unmanifested form, this entire universe is pervaded. All beings are in Me, but I am not in them." Thus although someone may say that the Supreme Person is different from the cosmic manifestation, actually He is not

- In the age of Kali, intelligent persons perform congregational chanting to worship the incarnation of Godhead who constantly sings the name of Krsna. Although His complexion is not blackish, He is Krsna Himself
- In the BS it is stated, premanjanacchurita... One can see the SPG, Govinda, always within himself and outside himself if he has developed the transcendental loving attitude towards Him. Thus for people in general He is not visible. BG 1972 purports
- In the Vedanta-sutra it is stated that He (the Lord) is not situated in the dualities of this material world. He is transcendental to these dualities. Nor is He attached to the creation and annihilation of this material world. BG 1972 purports
- In the Vedic language we can understand that God is also a living entity. He's not void. He's just like a person, like you and me. But He's so powerful. Eko bahunam vidadhati kaman. One single number, He is providing so many, innumerable living entities
- In the Visistadvaita philosophy, God's energies, expansions and incarnations are considered to be oneness in diversity. In other words, God is not separate from all of these: everything together is God - CC Intro

K
- Knowing the ultimate doer (God), one should not pose himself as ignorant of the actual performer. To answer this doubt, the reply is that the Lord is also not directly responsible, for everything is done by His deputed maya-sakti, or material energy
- Krsna is for everyone. Don't think that Krsna, as it is stated in your English dictionary, "Krsna is a Hindu God." He's not Hindu, He's not Muslim or He's not Christian. He's God. God is neither Hindu nor Muslim nor Christian
- Krsna is not obliged to reveal Himself to anyone unless one surrenders fully in Krsna consciousness and engages in devotional service. BG 1972 purports

- O Supreme Lord, You are not an ordinary living entity appearing in this material world as a result of fruitive activities. Therefore Your appearance or birth in this world has no other cause than Your pleasure potency - SB 10.2.39
- Of the three principal agents controlling the three modes of material nature, Visnu is the Almighty; even though He is within material nature for the purpose of maintenance, He is not controlled by the laws of material nature
- One cannot argue with the activities of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The Lord is always free, and therefore He can protect and can also annihilate. He is not our order carrier; whatever He likes He will do. Therefore He is the Supreme Lord
- One cannot say anything about the transcendental world without being free from materially contaminated consciousness. So the Lord is not materially contaminated. BG 1972 Introduction
- One may falsely claim that he is the Lord, but actually he is not. This is the last snare of maya's influence upon the living entity. To think oneself equal with the Supreme Lord or to think oneself to be the Supreme Lord Himself is also due to false ego
- One should not think that Lord Visnu is in the same category with Lord Brahma and Siva. The sastras forbid us to think in this way
P
- Persons to whom the Supreme Personality of Godhead is not revealed cannot see how He is working, and therefore they think that even if there is God, He has nothing to do or has no particular name
- Prahlada Maharaja then says - Although He is not seen, He can still be perceived. One who is intelligent can perceive the presence of the Supreme Lord everywhere
- Purusah prakrti-stho hi bhunkte prakrtijan gunan (BG 13.22). When the living entity is in the material nature, he is affected by its qualities. The Supreme Personality of Godhead, however, is not affected
S
- Seeing God is not difficult, but we have to prepare our eyes. And how that eyes . . . how that eye is prepared, that is stated in the Vedic literature, that if you kindly smear your eyeballs with the ointment of love
- Simply by chanting the name of Narayana to call his son, Ajamila attained salvation. This means that Narayana is not an ordinary mundane name; it is nonmaterial. The word anama indicates that the names of the Supreme do not belong to this material world
- So the Absolute Truth is not without varieties. That is spiritual variety. That is not material variety. But the Mayavadis they are seeing the Absolute Truth from distant place, far away, they think that in the Absolute Truth there is no variety
- Sripada Sankaracarya was an impersonalist, but nevertheless he said, narayanah paro 'vyaktat: Narayana, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is not a person of the material world
- Such people are satisfied by chanting the transcendental qualities of the Lord. The Lord's personal presence is not actually required
- Supreme Lord is the cause of all causes, but He is not caused by anyone. That is His supremacy. He is described in the Vedic, svarat, "self-evident." That is God
T
- The Absolute Truth is not without variety. Just as there is material variety, there is spiritual variety. Because the Mayavadi philosophers are seeing the Absolute Truth from a distance, they think that the Absolute Truth has no variety
- The Absolute Truth must descend from the absolute platform. He is not to be understood by the ascending process
- The answer to such questions or inquiries (on how to surrender to God) is given herein (SB 2.7.46). God is not present before our eyes but if one is sincere in wanting guidance God will send a bona fide person who can guide one back home, back to Godhead
- The complete manifestation of the cosmic situation is an expansion of the Lord Himself in His impersonal feature. All things are situated in Him only, yet He is not in them
- The creation is nondifferent from the Lord, and still He is not in the creation. This is explained in the Bhagavad-gita
- The first wonder (of Vasudeva) was that the Lord was not afraid to appear within the prison house of Kamsa, where Vasudeva and Devaki were interned
- The goddess of fortune, Laksmi, is always engaged in the service of the Lord, but still He is not attached to her
- The impersonalist sometimes prays for the mercy of the Personality of Godhead Narayana as the embodiment of material goodness, but such prayers do not satisfy the Lord because He is not thereby glorified in terms of His actual transcendental qualities
- The jivatma is different from his name, but the Paramatma is not; His name and He Himself are one and the same
- The Kumaras confirm: "You are the ultimate Absolute Truth." The impersonalist may argue that since the Supreme Personality of Godhead was so nicely decorated, He was therefore not the Absolute Truth
- The living entities are infinitesimal, they become bewildered or conditioned by material nature, but this does not mean that the Supreme Lord is also conditioned or bewildered
- The Lord creates this material world by His external energy, but this external energy is in one sense not different from Him. Yet at the same time the Lord is not directly manifest in the external energy but is always situated in the spiritual energy
- The Lord is addressed as isvara, the controller of maya. He is not controlled by maya
- The Lord is addressed in this verse (SB 3.16.22) as tri-yuga, or one who appears in three millenniums - namely the Satya, Dvapara and Treta yugas. He is not mentioned as appearing in the fourth millennium, or Kali-yuga

- The Lord is not directly attached to the creation, maintenance and destruction of the material world, for He is eternally busy in the enjoyment of transcendental bliss with paraphernalia composed of His internal potencies
- The Lord is not hungry or poor, in need of our offering. Actually, it is to our advantage to offer Him something to eat. If the Supreme Lord kindly accepts our offering, then we are benefited
- The Lord is not only the creator and destroyer of the material manifestations of His different energies. He is more than a simple creator and destroyer, for there is His feature of ananda, or His pleasure feature
- The Lord is not the plaything of such fools - who take Him to be either a superhuman being born with a material body or a historical personality worshiped as God under the influence of anthropomorphism
- The Lord is not under the limitations of time
- The Lord is saguna by His own internal potency, but at the same time He is nirguna, since He is not in touch with the material energy
- The Lord is spread everywhere by virtue of His Brahman feature. Everything rests in Him, yet He is not there
- The Lord is the creator of the creative energy. We can see that there is a creative energy in the material world, but He is not under this energy. He is prakrti-parah, beyond this energy
- The Lord says (in BG 10.2.35) - I am not exposed to anyone and everyone - When Krsna came, He was actually present on the battlefield of Kuruksetra, and everyone saw Him. But not everyone could understand that He was the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- The Lord says in Bhagavad-gita (5.13) that He is not the cause of anyone's particular work, nor the authority, nor the result of such work - but that all these come out of the various modes of nature
- The Lord says, "I am not exposed to anyone and everyone." When Krsna came, He was actually present on the Battlefield of Kuruksetra, and everyone saw Him. But not everyone could understand that He was the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- The Lord's killing or annihilating of the demons is not exactly like the killing of this material world. Although He appears to act within the modes of material nature, He is nirguna, above the modes of nature
- The Lord's potencies are so numerous that everything is nicely done. Therefore, He is naturally still and is not directly the doer of anything in this material world
- The Lord, who is behind the motion of the cosmos, is called avyakta-bandhu. Everything is within the limits of time, but time moves under the direction of the Lord, who is therefore not within time's limit
- The material creation is activated by the Lord, and therefore the Lord is not a part of the material creation. The Lord exists in His original, spiritual position. The universal form of the Lord, vairaja-murti, is another feature of the Lord
- The material expansion is temporary, but the Lord is not temporary
- The merciful Lord left behind Him the great teachings of the Bhagavad-gita so that one can take the instructions of the Lord even when He is not visible to material eyesight
- The perfect yogi knows that the Lord is eternally transcendental and is not materially affected by His presence in either a dog or a brahmana. That is the supreme neutrality of the Lord. BG 1972 purports
- The Supreme Lord is not forced to appear. Indeed, no one can subject Him to force, for He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Everyone is under His control, and He is not under the control of anyone else
- The Supreme Lord is not obtained by means of expert explanations, vast intelligence or even much hearing. He is obtained only by one whom He Himself chooses. To such a person, He manifests His own form - Katha Upanisad 1.2.23
- The Supreme Lord is not visible to material eyes, but when the material senses are inclined to the transcendental loving service of the Lord and are thus purified, the Lord reveals Himself to the vision of the devotee
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead is described here (in SB 3.26.3). He is not a temporary person, nor does He have a beginning. He is without a cause, and He is the cause of all causes. parah means "transcendental," "beyond the creative energy
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead says: "I am not in Vaikuntha nor in the hearts of the yogis. I remain where My devotees engage in glorifying My activities." It is to be understood that the SP of Godhead does not leave the company of His devotees
- The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Visnu, resides within the material world as the sattva-guna-avatara. Lord Siva is the tamo-guna-avatara, and Lord Brahma is the rajo-guna-avatara, but although Lord Visnu is among them, He is not in the same category
- The visva-rupa, as it was shown to Arjuna, is not the original form of the Lord. The original form of the Lord is the transcendental form of Purusottama, or Krsna Himself. It is very nicely explained that He expands Himself just like the sun
- The words santaya kuta-sthaya sva-rocise are very significant. Although the Lord is within this material world, He is not disturbed by the waves of material existence
- Then as Sankarsana, He (God) annihilates the cosmic manifestation. Yet despite the creation, maintenance and destruction of the cosmos, the Lord is not affected
- There is no difference between the Lord and sound vibration coming from Him, even though He is not personally present
- These are very old questions. These are not very intelligent questions. God is not creating. God is giving you chance. The conditioned souls who are not with Krsna, they wanted to enjoy this material world. Therefore God is giving them chance
- This is described in Bhagavad-gita (God is everything but has His own separate existence): "I am spread all over the universe in My impersonal form. Everything is resting on Me, but I am not present."
- This is the system of receiving instructions from the Supersoul. Externally He is not to be seen, but internally He speaks to the devotee. That is confirmed in Bhagavad-gita
- This same understanding (of SB 10.3.15-17) is explained by the Lord Himself in Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.4): By Me, in My unmanifested form, this entire universe is pervaded. All beings are in Me, but I am not in them
- This whole material world is impersonal, but because we have taken a certain portion of it and make my body, it looks like person. And God is not like that. He is spiritual person. He has nothing to do with material
- Those who are learned and spiritually advanced will never accept such notions (that Ramacandra is not God); they will accept the descriptions of Lord Ramacandra and His activities only as presented by tattva-darsis, those who know the Absolute Truth
- To mitigate His (God's) devotees' material pangs, He descends as He is, yet He is not infected by material qualities
U
- Ultimate source of all interdependence is the Supreme Truth or Paramatma, the Supersoul, who is not dependent on anything else. He is svasrayasrayah. He is only dependent on His self, and thus He is the supreme shelter of everything
- Understanding God means first of all understanding His name. Therefore from the beginning we should chant the Hare Krsna maha-mantra. God is not different from His name. Krsna's name and Krsna's person are the same
- Unlike ordinary living entities, the Supreme Lord is not forced by the modes of material nature to appear. He appears dharman darsayitu-kama - to show how to execute the functions of a human being
W
- We are conditioned souls, but He (Supreme Lord) is not affected, although the material nature has emanated from Him
- We must always remember that the Lord is the Supreme Will, and He is not bound by any law
- What is the difference between temple, church, and ordinary house? Temple means where there is God. Or church, where there is God. God means where there is God's name. So wherever the chanting is there, that is temple
- When the Lord appears, He is not forced by the dictation of material nature; He appears as He likes by His own internal potency. That is the difference
- When the Lord comes, He does so on the basis of His spiritual potency (sambhavamy atma-mayaya (BG 4.6)). Because He is not forced to come by the material energy, He is always transcendental
- When there is a need to diminish a burden created by the demons, the Supreme Godhead can do it in many ways because He has multifarious energies
- When we worship the Deity of the Lord in the temple, the Deity appears to be stone or wood. Now, because the Supreme Lord does not have a material body, He is not stone or wood, yet stone and wood are not different from Him
- Why you are fallen into this material world as very, very small, insignificant? God is not insignificant. That is demonic idea. Therefore their vision is not very correct
- With the present blunt senses we cannot see Bhagavan. Therefore Bhagavan, out of His causeless mercy, has appeared in a form which you can see. Not that He's different. He's not different. Because Bhagavan is everything
