- Therefore, O King Citraketu, carefully consider the position of the atma. In other words, try to understand who you are - whether body, mind or soul
- Therefore, O Vidura, how can persons completely under the shelter of Lord Krsna in devotional service be put into miseries pertaining to the body, the mind, nature, and other men and living creatures?
- These people are generally baffled because their various acts of sin and virtue are directed merely toward ameliorating the distress and enhancing the happiness of the temporary body and mind by behavior like eating, sleeping, mating and defending
- They (Krsna's lips) agitate the mind and body of everyone, they increase lusty desires for enjoyment, they destroy the burden of material happiness and lamentation, and they make one forget all material tastes. The whole world falls under their control
- They (men & women) may be situated in different high & low positions in the estimation of human society but one should know definitely that unless one inquires about his own self beyond the body & mind all his activities in human life are total failures
- This danda, there are four sticks. One stick is representing the jiva soul, another stick is representing body, another stick is mind, and another stick, speech
- This human form of life is meant for austerity, and austerity means controlling sex, food intake, etc. In this way time can be saved for spiritual activity, and one can purify himself both externally and internally. Thus both body & mind can be cleansed
- This sannyasa tridanda, three dandas. Not three - four. Three is kaya - body; mind; kaya, mana, and words; and one he is personally. Therefore there are four sticks within the danda. Those who have taken sannyasa, they know it
- This spiritual subject matter, which is transcendental to the hankerings of the material body and mind, is our supreme need. Unless we reach this transcendental plane of activities, we cannot achieve real peace
- This spiritual, transcendental plane is the plane of eternal life, without which the material body and mind would have no existence
- Those who are aware of transcendental knowledge, and who thus are actually learned, perform all acts needed for maintaining the body and mind, but with a view to satisfying the transcendental senses of the Supreme Godhead, Visnu
- Those who are cultivating spiritual life and executing devotional service are always engaged in activity. Such activity can be performed with the body or with the mind
- Those who are not interested in the science of soul, atma-tattva, but they are interested only in the science of body and mind, they are grhamedhi. Grhamedhi. They are not grhastha
- Those who are truly learned do not give much importance to this material body and mind, or to the happiness and distress that pertain only to the material body and mind
- Through austerity, King Malayadhvaja in body and mind gradually became equal to the dualities of cold and heat, happiness and distress, wind and rain, hunger and thirst, the pleasant and the unpleasant. In this way he conquered all relativities
- Thus practicing constant control of the body, mind and activities, the mystic transcendentalist, his mind regulated, attains to the kingdom of God (or the abode of Krsna) by cessation of material existence
- Tie of affection in terms of material relation is the relation of maya because the relations of the body or the mind are due to the influence of the external energy
- Tridanda-sannyasa means one who has devoted his life, means his activities, his body and his speeches. That is tridanda-sannyasa. Anyone who has devoted his mind, his body and his speeches for the service of the Lord, he is sannyasi
W
- We accepted the tridandi - you will have seen in my name "tridandi." Tri means three. Three. What is that three? What that three? The mind, the body and the words
- We are suffering from miseries caused by other living entities and acts of nature as well as from miseries arising from the body and mind themselves
- We can quickly see that controlling the mind and body is not such an easy thing and that we cannot control them as easily as we can go to the store and purchase something. But Krsna indicates that these rules can be easily followed when we are in KC
- We have got medical science for this body, we have got psychology for the mind - everything we've got - but where is the science of the soul, which is moving the body and the mind? Where is that science
- We look to the outward covering of the body or subtle mind of the living being, but we cannot see the spiritual spark within the body
- We must know the nature of those temporary states of material happiness and distress. It would be sheer stupidity to ignore them, or to remain indifferent in matters concerning the spirit soul, around which the material body and mind exist
- We should not mistakenly think that the idea of giving up everything implies the renunciation of duties necessary in relation to the body and mind. Even such duties are not sense gratification if they are undertaken in a spirit of service to Krsna
- Whatever advancement of knowledge, whether in art or science, that has been made by mundane scholars without reference to the eternal spirit soul is but a manifestation of the illusory modes of nature that encompass and limit the material body and mind
- Whatever his condition may be, one who is engaged fully with his body, mind and speech in the service of the Lord is liberated, even within this body
- When a devotee is put into distress, he accepts this as God's mercy and offers Him repeated obeisances with his body, mind and intellect. An intelligent person, therefore, should be always satisfied, depending on the mercy of the Lord
- When a person is developed in love of Godhead, his body, mind and everything else are attracted by the transcendental qualities of the Lord. Such is the power of Krsna's merciful activities and transcendental qualities
- When he (the acting in Krsna consciousness) applies everything produced of the body, mind, intelligence, words, life, wealth, etc.-whatever he may have within his possession-to Krsna's service, he is at once dovetailed with Krsna. BG 1972 purports
- When one acts in Krsna consciousness for the satisfaction of the senses of Krsna, any action, whether of the body, mind, intelligence or even the senses, is purified of material contamination
- When one identifies his body, his mind, his activities - everything - with Krsna, then there is no more such distinction of "higher" and "lower," either in work or in thinking or in action. No more. Because that is the purificatory process
- When one is reflected through the material contamination of the body and mind in false identification, he is in the conditional state, but when he is reflected in the pure stage he is called liberated
- When one surrenders unto the lotus feet of the Lord, he does so with everything in his possession - his house, his body, his mind and whatever else he possesses
- When one's body, mind and activities are situated in the service of the Lord, one is on the highest perfectional stage of goodness
- When the breeze carrying the aroma of tulasi leaves and saffron from the lotus feet of the lotus-eyed Personality of Godhead entered through the nostrils into the hearts of those sages (the Kumaras), they experienced a change in both body and mind
- When the breeze carrying the aroma of tulasi leaves from the toes of the lotus feet of the Personality of Godhead entered the nostrils of those sages (the four Kumaras), they experienced a change both in body and in mind
- When the devotee is freed from all sinful material activities, Krsna attracts his body, mind and senses to His service. Thus Krsna is very merciful, and His transcendental qualities are very attractive
- When the SPG or His confidential servants manifest themselves and preach the message of Godhead, we must not shut the doors and windows of our body and mind; otherwise, the light emanating from the Lord and His servants shall not enter into us
- When we speak of a living entity, we must see the body and the mind as two outward coverings, two layers of paraphernalia - and the living force or spirit soul as the chief, central figure
- While touching the young girls, he was like a person touching wood or stone, for his body and mind were unaffected
- Within one's body and mind, one can think as either a dog or a god, and the next life is offered to him accordingly
- Without knowing the need of the dormant soul, one cannot be happy simply with emolument of the body and mind. The body and the mind are but superfluous outer coverings of the spirit soul
