- Sri Suta Gosvami said: While traveling on a pilgrimage, Vidura received knowledge of the destination of the self from the great sage Maitreya and then returned to Hastinapura. He became as well versed in the subject as he desired

- Suta Gosvami was a pure devotee of the Lord, and therefore his association with the rsis in Naimisaranya is unique. In the material world, association with gross materialists is veritably condemned
- Suta Gosvami was equally anxious to describe Maharaja Pariksit's wonderful birth and death, and this verse is stated by Suta Gosvami to increase the interest of the sages of Naimisaranya
