- Srila Narottama dasa Thakura, in his prayers to the Gosvamis, has explained: When I shall be eager to understand the literature given by the Gosvamis, then I shall be able to understand the transcendental love affairs of Radha and Krsna
- Srila Narottama dasa Thakura, who is famous for his poetic composition known as Prarthana, has lamented in one of his prayers, When will Lord Nityananda be merciful upon me so that I will forget all material desires
- Srila Raghunatha dasa Gosvami has described Sanatana Gosvami in his prayer Vilapa-kusumanjali, verse six, where he has expressed his obligation to Sanatana Gosvami

- Temple Deity worship is one of the functions of a devotee. He goes regularly to see the Deity nicely decorated, and with veneration and respect he touches the lotus feet of the Lord and presents offerings of worship, such as fruits, flowers and prayers
- The 108 Upanisads contain all knowledge about the Absolute Truth. Sometimes people ask why Vaisnavas use 108 prayer beads for chanting the holy names. We think it is because there are 108 Upanisads containing full knowledge of the Absolute Truth

- Vaisnavas, they chanted with a numerical strength, sankhya-purvaka. Sankhya-purvaka-nama-gana-natibhih. Nama means chanting of the holy name. Gana means also prayer
- Vandanam, offering prayers. The Christians, the Muhammadans, they offer prayer. Of course, not to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, but impersonal feature or some idea. But that prayer is also one of the processes of bhakti
- Vandanam. Although prayers are a part of Deity worship, they may be considered separately like the other items, such as hearing and chanting, and separate statements are given
- Vasudeva Datta was so liberal that he requested Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu to transfer all offensive activity upon him so the conditioned souls would be purified and go back home, back to Godhead. This prayer was certainly without duplicity
- Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura quotes the prayer by Brahma from the Bhagavatam: One whose heart has become completely purified, my Lord, can understand the transcendental qualities of Your Lordship and can understand the greatness of Your activities

- We do not have to be very learned or very scholarly, nor do we have to present our prayers in nicely selected words that are poetical, rhetorical or metaphorical. None of this is required, although if it is there it is very nice
- We have no other power than to offer our respectful obeisances and prayers unto You, the transcendental person. The chanting of Your auspicious transcendental qualities will wipe out the sins of all mankind
- We should take the path of devotional service, following Prahlada Maharaja, and his prayers, his instructions are so valuable that even simply by reciting this Prahlada Maharaja's stotra, This prayer of Prahlada Maharaja is very, very important
- We sing in our daily prayers, yasya prasadad bhagavat-prasado yasyaprasadan na gatih kuto 'pi. By the pleasure of the spiritual master, one can get extraordinary power, especially in spiritual advancement
- We sing in the Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura's prayer, saksad-dharitvena samasta-sastraih: "In every sastra, guru is accepted as directly Krsna." Saksat means directly
- What is this prayer? "Give me a little bread"? Of course, it is better than the rascals who are atheists. They do not approach God. They say, "Oh, what is God? I am God. I shall, by economic development, I shall create so many breads."
- When a student interpreted the glories of the holy name as a prayer of exaggeration, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, greatly unhappy, immediately warned everyone not to see the student's face henceforward
- When all the Prajapatis were ordered to create by Lord Brahma, we chanted these prayers in praise of the Supreme Personality of Godhead and became completely free from all ignorance. Thus we were able to create different types of living entities
- When he (Madhvacarya) returned to Udupi, he would sometimes bathe in the ocean. On such an occasion he composed a prayer in five chapters

- When spiritual instincts, which are inherent qualities in every living being, are kindled by daily prayer meetings, it is then only the people in general develop the qualities of the gods and the Trust Board of Mahatma Gandhi Fund should not miss this

- You can call sermon, because there is prayer song and there is, I mean to say, recitation from scriptures
- You can offer your prayer from any standard of life. Not that you have to present your prayers in a very nicely selected words so that poetry, rhetoric, prosody, everything is there, metaphor. Nothing required. Simply you have to express your feelings
- You have prayed to Me and properly worshiped Me by performing the great payo-vrata ceremony for the sake of protecting your sons. Because of Kasyapa Muni's austerities, I shall agree to become your son and thus protect your other sons
- You say: "O my Lord, You have no leg, You have no hand, You have no eyes," that means "You are blind, You are lame, You are headless," "You have no sense" - "You are nonsense." So this is prayer. We have to fight these rascal impersonalists and voidists
