A
- A child or a boy wants to know who is his father. So what is the evidence? That evidence is sruti, hearing, from the mother. Mother says, "He is your father." So he hears; he does not see how he became his father

- We are hearing Srimad-Bhagavatam. This is knowledge also. And when you see there are three kinds of receiving knowledge . . . One is sruti. Sruti means hearing. So our Vedic process is that we hear the Vedic information, and we become perfect
- We have to accept sastra, how things are going on beyond our experience. Without that, we cannot have knowledge. That is called Vedic process. Sruti-jnanam. Sruti means hearing from authorities. That is real knowledge. Srotra-pantha
- We have to accept this truth (we cannot establish the existence of the soul beyond the proof of sruti or Vedic wisdom), because there is no other source of understanding the existence of the soul, although it is a fact by perception. BG 1972 purports
- We have to receive transcendental sound through the transcendental channel, therefore, Vedas are called Sruti. That means transcendental sound can be received through the ear
- We have to understand it (spirit soul) by the sruti process, Vedic knowledge. That is real understanding. And understanding from the right person, Krsna or His representative. And it has to be understood simply by hearing. There is no other process
- When the mother Vedas (sruti) is questioned as to whom to worship, she says that You are the only Lord and worshipable object. Similarly, the corollaries of the sruti-sastras, the smrti-sastras, give the same instructions, just like sisters
- When they (the sruti-ganas) could not enter the dance simply by thinking of Krsna in the ecstasy of the gopis, they actually accepted bodies like those of the gopis
- Whether you take sruti or smrti, the subject matter is the same. Both sruti and smrti are spiritual evidence. We cannot do without either of them

- You cannot purchase the books and read at home and become expert engineer, expert. No. That is not the process. Therefore the Vedic knowledge is called sruti. So we have to hear by parampara system
- You have to take their (the sruti-smrti) particular recommendation for the particular time, just as Krsna Caitanya Mahaprabhu did when He urged His followers to heed the injunction of Brhan-naradiya Purana - 3.8.126, CC Adi 17.21
- You should go to a guru who has complete knowledge from the sruti. Sruti means Vedas. Acaryavan puruso veda. Veda means you have to approach acarya. He knows everything
- Your so-called scientific research cannot help you. You have to learn it simply by hearing from the authority. This is called sruti
