- A living entity becomes established in spiritual, blissful life when he fully understands that his happiness depends on spiritual self-realization, which is the basic principle of ananda
- Actual life is that there should be no work. Why? Ananda-cinmaya-rasa-pratibhavitabhis tabhir ya eva nija-rupataya kalabhih
- Although these (brahma-bhuta) living entities undergo severe austerities to rise to the platform of Siddhaloka, they cannot remain there perpetually, for they are bereft of ananda - bliss
- Ambudhi means the ocean. So this ocean does not increase, but when you come to the spiritual ocean of ananda, blissfulness, it will increase daily
- Ananda cannot be impersonal or void; ananda entails variety
- Ananda cannot be impersonal. You can make experiment. Suppose if you are put into a big room without any man coming there, so you cannot feel very comfortable for long time. You will feel lonely. You shall try to come out

- Ananda, pleasure, means varieties. Variety is the mother of enjoyment. Without varieties . . . just like we prepare from grains, sugar, ghee, hundreds of varieties. If you simply give grain, ghee and sugar, it will not be enjoyable
- Ananda-cinmaya-sad-ujjvala-vigrahasya (Bs. 5.32). That ananda, or pleasure, is not the third-class ananda we enjoy with our bodily senses. Such bodily enjoyment is not ananda but illusion

- Even on this Hawaii island how many beautiful things, flowers, trees and fruits. That is God's creation. Ananda. Variety is the mother of enjoyment. If you want enjoyment, there must be variety
- Every one of us-anandamayo 'bhyasat (Vedanta-sutra 1.1.12). God is also anandamaya. We, being part and parcel of God, we are also seeking after ananda. So you cannot get permanent ananda either by Brahman realization or Paramatma realization

- For a bhakta to become attached to family affairs is impossible, since a bhakta and his associates are liberated. Everyone is searching after ananda, or bliss, but in the material world there can never be any bliss
- Form of Krsna means there is no shadow of any material contamination. Ananda-matram. Ananda-matram avikalpam aviddha-varcah. And not that... Suppose we are sometimes happy and next time I am unhappy, but this ananda is eternal

- He (The Supreme Lord) derives ananda, bliss, from His own self. The Lord's body is transcendental, spiritual, but because the conditioned soul has a material body, he has many bodily and mental troubles
- He's not seeking after where is eternal happiness. Temporarily, he's seeking here, seeking there. Bhutva bhutva praliyate. In this way his life is finished, seeking ananda, and he gets another body, another term
- Here, there is no ananda. Why there is ananda? This body is subjected to so many miserable condition of life. We become hungry, we become thirsty, there is death, there is fearfulness, there is enemy - so many things
- How can we understand that it (consciousness) is there? We can understand the supreme consciousness and our individual consciousness simply by perception of blissfulness. Because we have consciousness, we can feel ananda, or pleasure

- If there is no spiritual ananda, there must be, they must come to the inferior quality. This material world is inferior quality, apara
- If we depend on God's creation, there will be no scarcity, but simply ananda, bliss. God's creation provides sufficient grains and grass, and while we eat the grains and fruits, the animals like the cows will eat the grass
- If we simply fly in the sky, we can't have ananda. We have to descend to an airport at some time or another. If we simply rise to the Brahman effulgence, we do not experience ananda
- If you study analytically that this body is simply meant for suffering, so where is ananda? There is no ananda; there is no complete knowledge; there is no eternity. Therefore it is called material. Just the opposite is spiritual life
- In the revealed scriptures the Supreme Lord is described as sac-cid-ananda-vigraha (Bs. 5.1). Sat means eternal, cit means fully cognizant, ananda means joyful, and vigraha means that He is a person
- In this way they are trying to merge into the Brahman effulgence, but where to stay? They can stay in the Brahman effulgence as minute particle of soul, but the soul wants ananda, so what is ananda there
- Isvarah paramah krsnah sac-cid-ananda-vigrahah (Bs. 5.1). Sat means "eternal," cit means "full of knowledge," and ananda means "full of pleasure." Krsna is the reservoir of all pleasure

- Living entity cannot be annihilated at any point. But the lower species of life exist in a miserable condition, whereas one who is engaged in the devotional service of the Supreme Lord is situated in the pleasurable, or ananda-maya, status of life
- Lord Krsna's body is eternal (sat), full of knowledge(cit) and full of bliss (ananda). His one spiritual energy manifests three forms

- Neither of these partial realizations (the sat and cit portions) of the Complete Whole can help one realize ananda, or complete bliss. Without such realization of ananda, knowledge of the Absolute Truth is incomplete
- Not attaining ananda, or bliss, they (brahma-bhuta living entities) come down to the material world to enjoy. This is certainly a falldown for one who is actually liberated. The bhaktas consider such a falldown equal to achieving a place in hell
- Now we are seeking ananda (bliss) in different atmospheres. Because we have a little independence, we have decided to go to the prison house of material nature and try to serve our senses instead of Krsna

- One who has acquired absolute knowledge and who always meditates on the Absolute Truth, knowledge, the unlimited and the Brahman effulgence, thus keeping himself in transcendental bliss, is called Ananda-brahmacari
- Our movement is for ananda, simply bliss, and the method of pushing this movement is chanting, dancing, feasting and philosophizing

- Sat means eternity, and cit means full of knowledge, and ananda means full of joy. These are the qualifications of God and living entity. Therefore we are hankering after pleasure
- Sat-cit-ananda. That is the formation of Krsna, and that is our formation also. Sat means eternal. Cit means full knowledge. Eternal, full knowledge and ananda. Ananda. Ananda means bliss
- Simply ananda. Dancing with Krsna, rasa dance. Supposing if there is such life - dancing and eating and chanting, no suffering. So would anybody deny that? Is there any such fool?
- Simply to merge into the Brahman effulgence is not very safe. Because we want ananda. So in impersonal zero standard there cannot be any ananda
- Simply to rise to the platform of Brahman, that is sat, partial realization of the Absolute Truth. Sat. Then cit. Cit means knowledge. That is also partial. Ananda. Sac-cid-ananda. When there . . . ananda you cannot get
- So the ananda, the spiritual happiness is not without varieties, anandamayo 'bhyasat (Vedanta-sutra 1.1.12). Spirit, Brahman, Parabrahman, is full of happiness, and how happiness can be possible without varieties? Variety is the mother of enjoyment
- So-called jnanis, they do not have the entrance into the ananda platform, they come to this material ananda, material pleasure. Therefore they take to this hospitality or opening a school or philanthropic work - another type of this material pleasure
- Sometimes big, big sannyasis, they gave up this world as brahma satyam jagan mithya, but because they could not get ananda, they come down again. Again they become busy in opening hospital and school and philanthropic work, politics
- Spiritual life means ananda, and material life means anxiety. You can distinguish. If you are always put into anxiety, that is material life. And if you are always jolly, that is spiritual life
- Spiritual world means there is no work. There is simply ananda, joyfulness. That you see from reading Krsna book. They're not working. Krsna is going with the calves and the cows. That is not working. That is amusement
- Spread this Krsna consciousness movement. Parama ananda-khanda. People will be happy. Our mission is to see sarve sukhino bhavantu: everyone become happy. We don't want to see that we exploit somebody else and I become happy. No
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is ananda-cinmaya vigraha, combination of hladini sakti, Srimati Radharani, and Krsna together. Therefore the Vaisnava sings, sri-krsna-caitanya radha-krsna nahe anya. Radha-krsna nahe anya
- Suppose we are dancing here, and if we understand that immediately death will take place, then we shall not be able to enjoy the dancing. Immediately the anxiety will come. So here, ananda, there is no ananda

- That is the whole process of Krsna consciousness - the revival of our original sac-cid-ananda spiritual body. That body is eternal (sat), full of knowledge (cit), and blissful - ananda
- The forms which Krsna assumed were each and every one full Visnu. The specific word used in this connection is satya-jnananantananda: satya means truth; jnana, full knowledge; ananta, unlimited; and ananda, full bliss
- The living entities are Brahman; Krsna is Para-brahman. Krsna is enjoying perpetual ananda, and, being part and parcel of Krsna, we also want ananda
- The monists and impersonalists try with great difficulty to explain this sutra in diverse ways in order to support their imperfect theory of oneness and impersonality. However, the fact remains that ananda, pleasure, cannot be enjoyed alone
- The pleasure which we are hunting here within this material world, everything is there, full, full ananda. You can enter into the anandamaya-lila. That He (Krsna) practically demonstrates in Vrndavana
- The pure devotee is only favorably engaged in the service of the Lord, without any hope of emolument. This will bring about love of Godhead, or the stage of santam and anandam
- The speaking is very pleasing when there are many persons here. I cannot speak alone here. That is not ananda. I can speak here at night, dead of night, nobody here. That is not ananda. Ananda means there must be others
- These are different items of ananda (living, playing, dancing and eating with the Supreme Personality of Godhead), spiritual happiness in spiritual variegatedness
- They (brahma-bhuta living entities) do not properly utilize whatever little knowledge they have of the SPG. Not attaining ananda, or bliss, they come down to the material world to enjoy. This is certainly a falldown for one who is actually liberated
- They are going to the naked dance club, the sex ananda. Because in the material world there is no ananda except this
- This (engaged in Krsna's service birth after birth) is real ananda. Unless we are fully qualified devotees, we cannot enter into the Vaikuntha planets. We have to live outside in the brahma-jyotir
- This is supposed to be ananda, bliss, but because it takes place in the material world, the ananda is converted into something distasteful. However, we can enjoy this ananda when we are with our Supreme Father, Krsna
- This is the movement of ananda, pleasure only. Krsna is anandamaya, and if you remain with Krsna you'll become anandamaya
- This material body is neither sat, cit, nor ananda. It is perishable, whereas the person who is occupying the body is imperishable
- This mukti the sayujya-mukti, means to become one with the Supreme, it not very safe, because there is, there is want of ananda and knowledge. Simply to become one, that will not help
- This prayer (Bs. 5.37) says that Krsna expands His internal energy of bliss and knowledge, ananda-cinmaya. Ananda means bliss, happiness. Ananda
- Those who are after severe austerities, they rise up to the Brahman effulgence, but on account of his original nature of ananda, he cannot remain there. He again falls down
- Those who enter impersonally into the brahma-jyotir can remain there for some time in full knowledge that they are now merged homogeneously with Brahman, but they cannot have that eternal ananda, bliss, because that part is wanting
- To increase the life of knowledge means ananda. Ananda means pleasure. We want pleasure. So you will get more and more pleasing life. In the material way of life we are experienced only unpleasure, difficulties, the just opposite

- We are actually after ananda. Sac-cid-ananda: cit means "knowledge," and that is also partial. We must add ananda (bliss) in order to have complete realization
- We are thinking that "I'm enjoying," but that is not ananda. This ananda is not fact, because we cannot enjoy this material sense pleasure for long. Everyone has got experience. It is finished. But spiritual enjoyment does not finish. It increases
- We are thinking, "I am enjoying," but that ananda is not factual, because we cannot enjoy this material pleasure of the senses for long
- We can experience ananda perfectly in the association of Krsna. We can associate with Krsna as a servant, a friend, a father, a mother or a conjugal lover
- We must progress beyond this (brahma-bhuta platform) and come to the platform of bhakti-yoga. On that platform, there is variety and ananda, bliss
- We should further note in this verse the two words santam and anandam, which denote that devotional service of the Lord can really bestow upon the devotee two important benedictions, namely peace and satisfaction
- What is real ananda, that you have to taste by your transcendental senses, not these senses, blunt senses. This is blunt senses, covered senses. There is no question of tasting ananda with these senses
- When Krsna, the Absolute Personality of Godhead, wants to enjoy ananda, so He expands His ahladini-sakti. Parasya saktir vividhaiva sruyate (CC Madhya 13.65, purport). This is Vedic injunction. He has got multipotencies
- Which decreases, that is not real happiness. That is illusion. Ramante yoginah anante satyanande cid-atmana. Cit, that is spiritual, spiritual ananda. Really we want ananda, happiness, blissfulness. That is our natural instinct
