Fruitful (Conversations)

Conversations and Morning Walks

1973 Conversations and Morning Walks

Our Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is practically preaching the teachings of Bhagavad-gītā as it is. And it is becoming fruitful.
Room Conversation -- February 26, 1973, Jakarta:

Prabhupāda: Therefore in another place, it is stated, bahūnāṁ janmanām ante jñānavān māṁ prapadyate (BG 7.19), "After many, many births, when actually becomes wise, jñānavān māṁ prapadyate, he surrenders unto Me." That is the perfection of knowledge. So this is... The Bhagavad-gītā is the only source of scientific knowledge of God and our relationship with God. I am very glad that you are already very serious about understanding Bhagavad-gītā. But I request you only that try to... and understand Bhagavad-gītā without any, our man-made interpretation. That will be my request.

Guest (2): What is one thing that I would like to...

Prabhupāda: And we are always ready to help you in this.

Guest (2): Yes, thank you for this. What I wanted, that if you will be able to help us...

Prabhupāda: Oh yes, oh yes.

Guest (2): ...in establishing, for example, that Gītā meeting for some...

Prabhupāda: Oh yes.

Guest (2): (indistinct)

Prabhupāda: Oh yes. Our Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is practically preaching the teachings of Bhagavad-gītā as it is. And it is coming fruitful. It is coming very fruitful.

1974 Conversations and Morning Walks

Morning Walk -- April 14, 1974, Bombay:

Dr. Patel: All vegetables are in tamas, in tamas...

Prabhupāda: No. Some of them, fruitful, those trees for supplying nice fruits, nice flowers, they are in the goodness. Everywhere the three qualities are working.

Morning Walk -- May 27, 1974, Rome:

Prabhupāda: Communist is not a problem. It is good proposal, but they are missing one point. They are making Lenin the leader. If they make Kṛṣṇa the leader, then the Communistic idea will be very fruitful.

1975 Conversations and Morning Walks

If he is offender, then his chanting will not be fruitful. It will be fruitful.
Morning Walk -- February 3, 1975, Hawaii:

Prabhupāda: What is the meaning of the ten kinds of offenses? If he is chanting without offense, then it is all right, but if he is committing offenses, it will not be effective. There are ten kinds of offenses. Whether he is strictly offenseless? Then it is all right. If he is offender, then it will not be fruitful. It will be fruitful

Rūpa Gosvāmī says, sato vṛtteḥ sādhu-saṅge sadbhir bhaktiḥ prasidhyati: "If you live with the association of sādhu, devotee, then it will be quickly fruitful.
Morning Walk -- February 3, 1975, Hawaii:

Prabhupāda: Why you are opening so many centers and making arrangement that "We shall provide you with shelter, with food. These are the facilities. You live here, do whatever is your capacity. Don't sleep, but work." This is our teaching. Satāṁ prasaṅgāt, this is also, and Rūpa Gosvāmī says, sato vṛtteḥ sādhu-saṅge sadbhir bhaktiḥ prasidhyati: "If you live with the association of sādhu, devotee, then it will be quickly fruitful." And if you live with these ordinary men, then whatever you have got will be finished very soon.

1976 Conversations and Morning Walks

Fruitive work can only be fruitful when made subservient to the devotional service of the Lord.
Room Conversation and Reading from Srimad-Bhagavatam Canto 1 and 12 -- June 25, 1976, New Vrindaban:

Prabhupāda: Fruitive work, in which almost all people in general are engaged, is always painful, either in the beginning or at the end. It can only be fruitful when made subservient to the devotional service of the Lord. In the Bhagavad-gītā also it is confirmed that the result of such fruitive work may be offered for the service of the Lord, otherwise it leads to material bondage. The bona fide enjoyer of the fruitive work is the Personality of Godhead. And thus when it is engaged for the sense gratification of the living entities, it becomes an acute source of trouble."

Evening Darsana -- July 11, 1976, New York:

Prabhupāda: All Indians, they should take Bhagavad-gītā as it is and make their life fruitful. The Europeans and Americans, they are taking. Why Indians are not taking?

Unless one accepts somebody as guru, the instruction will not be fruitful.
Room Conversation -- August 10, 1976, Tehran:

Prabhupāda: Unless one accepts a person guru, there is no need of talking. Tad vijñānārthaṁ sa gurum evābhigacchet (Mundaka Upanisad 1.2.12). Unless one accepts somebody as guru, the instruction will not be fruitful. Just like Arjuna is accepting Kṛṣṇa as guru. So long he was talking as friend, it was not effective.

From the very beginning I said, "You chant Hare Kṛṣṇa." But that is becoming fruitful.
Morning Walk -- December 25, 1976, Bombay:

Prabhupāda: If I say that "Chant Hare Kṛṣṇa," what is the difficulty? But he thinks that "This is insignificant." He thinks like that. What I am teaching these people?

Guest (1): Very simple thing.

Prabhupāda: Very simple thing, "Chant Hare Kṛṣṇa." I have not given them any bribe. I have not shown them any magic of gold manufacturing. From the very beginning I said, "You chant Hare Kṛṣṇa." But that is becoming fruitful.

1977 Conversations and Morning Walks

Room Conversation -- March 27, 1977, Bombay:

Prabhupāda: Every morning walk, I was, "Where is the scientist?" I thought "Here I have got an opportunity to impress that will fructify in fruition." That was my aim. Therefore I was bothering you in so ways.
