- A patient has suffered from the disease on account of certain bad habits & he has gone to the doctor. He paid much money & suffered injection, operation, & still he is doing that. Therefore Pariksit Maharaja says, - What is the value of this prayascitta?
- After hearing a description of such (hellish and heavenly) planets from Sukadeva Gosvami, Pariksit Maharaja said: "Sir, I have heard from you about the hellish planets. Men who are very sinful are sent to those planets." (SB 6.1.6)
- Another word used here is apta-kama. Some may take it for granted that Krsna was very lusty among young girls, but Pariksit Maharaja said that this was not possible. He could not be lusty

- King Pariksit affords a good example of bhava. When sitting on the banks of the Ganges waiting to meet his death, he said: "All the brahmanas present here, as well as Mother Ganges, should know that I am a soul completely surrendered to Krsna"
- King Pariksit continued, "Brahman, or the Absolute Truth, has no material qualities, but our power of speaking does not go beyond the material qualities"
- King Pariksit continued, "How then can Brahman, the Absolute Truth, be described by your words? I do not see how it is possible to understand transcendence from such expressions of material sound"
- King Pariksit said to Sukadeva Gosvami: O brahmana, you have already informed me that the radius of Bhu-mandala extends as far as the sun spreads its light and heat and as far as the moon and all the stars can be seen
- King Pariksit said: I do not mind if I am immediately bitten by the snake sent by the brahmana boy's curse. Let the snake bite me as it likes. I shall be pleased if all of you present here will go on chanting the message of Krsna

- Maharaja Pariksit also said - Somehow or other they have fallen down to a hellish life, but that does not mean that they should remain in that condition. There must be some means by which they can be delivered, so kindly explain those means
- Maharaja Pariksit said that only the animal-killer cannot relish the transcendental message of the Supreme Lord. Therefore if people are to be educated to the path of Godhead, they must be taught first and foremost to stop the process of animal-killing
- Maharaja Pariksit said, "Because the Lord is unlimited, His (Krsna's) pastimes and activities for creating, maintaining and destroying the whole cosmic manifestation are also unlimited"

- Maharaja Pariksit said, "I think that no intelligent person can reject this method of hearing the transcendental pastimes of the Lord again and again; simply by hearing, one can remain always steeped in transcendental pleasure"
- Maharaja Pariksit said, "Krsna appeared on the earth to establish the regulative principles of religion and to curb the predominance of irreligion. But the behavior of Krsna and the gopis might encourage irreligious principles in the material world"
- Maharaja Pariksit said, "My dear lord, the SP of Godhead, Krsna, is the bestower of both liberation and love of God simultaneously. Anyone who becomes a devotee of the Lord automatically attains liberation without having to make a separate attempt"
- Maharaja Pariksit said, "O learned brahmana, you know everything because you are without material contamination"
- Maharaja Pariksit said, "The gopis did not know that Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. They accepted Him as a beautiful boy and considered Him to be their paramour"
- Maharaja Pariksit said: My dear lord, you have already spoken about the pumsavana vow. Now I want to hear about it in detail, for I understand that by observing this vow one can please the Supreme Lord, Visnu
- Maharaja Pariksit said: O most powerful brahmana, why was this place so empowered, and who made it so powerful? Kindly answer this question, for I am very eager to hear about this
- Maharaja Pariksit said: O my lord, O Sukadeva Gosvami, you have already described (in the Second Canto) the path of liberation (nivrtti-marga)

- Pariksit said: "Now I am quite fit. I am not at all disturbed by my hunger and thirst." This indicates that although on the material platform there are disturbances from hunger & thirst, on the spiritual platform there is no such thing as fatigue
- Pariksit said: My lord, Sukadeva Gosvami, you have elaborately described all the periods of the various Manus &, within those periods, the wonderful activities of the S. P. G, who has unlimited potency. I am fortunate to have heard all of this from you

- Sir - he (Maharaja Pariksit) said, - you (Sukadeva Gosvami) have described that because of one's sinful activities he is put into a hellish condition of life or in a hellish planetary system. Now, what are the methods by which such a person can be saved
- Sri Suta Gosvami said: O great sage Saunaka, after hearing Maharaja Pariksit speak respectfully and briefly on topics essential to hear, Sukadeva Gosvami, who was well aware of everything, praised his endeavor with great pleasure and replied
- Srila Pariksit Maharaja said that the constant hearing of the pastimes of the Lord is the panacea for all material diseases
- Srila Sukadeva Gosvami replied: My dear King, you have spoken correctly. However, after capturing animals, a cunning hunter does not put faith in them, for they might run away
- Sripada Vijayadhvaja Tirtha adds another verse in chapter 7 (of SB Canto 10): Pariksit Maharaja then requested Sukadeva Gosvami to continue speaking such narrations about the pastimes of Krsna, so that the King could enjoy from them transcendental bliss

- The fortunate King Pariksit, inquiring further, said, "O brahmana, please describe in full detail how and where the mind has to be applied and how the conception can be fixed so that the dirty things in a person's mind can be removed"
- The hunger and thirst from my fast do not disturb me, he (Maharaja Pariksit) said
- The word bhagavata refers to anything in relationship to Bhagavan, the Supreme Lord, & the Hare Krsna mantra is also bhagavata. Thus Pariksit said that the taste of Bhagavata can be relished by one who is free from hankering to satisfy material desires

- While speaking with Sukadeva Gosvami, Maharaja Pariksit also referred to this. "The Battlefield of Kuruksetra," he said, - was just like an ocean
- With similar Vaisnava compassion (as Six Gosvamis), Pariksit Maharaja told Sukadeva Gosvami: You have just described the different types of hellish life. Now, tell me how those who are suffering can be delivered. Kindly explain this to me
