- A conditioned soul is enwrapped in his fruitive activities by the force of eternal time. But the Supreme Lord, when He incarnates on the earth, is not influenced by kala, or the material conception of past, present and future

- Because of a false hope for happiness, the conditioned soul becomes involved in various plans for material activity. Maharaja Satyavrata prays that the Lord sever this hard knot of false happiness and thus become his supreme spiritual master
- Because they (conditioned souls) have very little information of the spiritual world, they do not generally take to spiritual activities, which are called bhakti-yoga
- Being engrossed in the material body, the conditioned soul increases the pages of history by all kinds of material activities

- For material happiness, the conditioned soul involves himself in fruitive activities, which actually put him into material distress. Because the conditioned soul does not know this, he is said to be in avidya, or ignorance
- Fruitive activity (karma) is meant to satisfy the senses of the conditioned soul. However, when one awakens to Krsna consciousness, he does not have to work separately for pious activity

- He (Brahma) is always thinking of how to improve the situation of the conditioned souls who have come to the material world to enjoy material activities. For this reason, he disseminates the Vedic knowledge throughout the universe for everyone's guidance
- He (God) gives the conditioned souls all facilities for rectifying the activities of the false ego, but He does not interfere with their small independence as parts and parcels of the Lord
- He (the conditioned soul) does not cease such faulty activities, he has to change to different bodies, some high and some low. That is called samsara-padavim, which means this material world, from which there is no release

- If a conditioned soul becomes Krsna conscious, the karma of his pious and impious activities is completely destroyed
- If a man is captivated by material enjoyment, and even if the seed of such enjoyment is within the heart of the conditioned soul, he can be overpowered by a flood of transcendental activities performed in love of God

- Sometimes he (conditioned soul) gets the body of a demigod, and he thinks that body to be his identity. Similarly, when he gets the body of a dog he identifies his self with that body
- Sometimes he (the conditioned soul) is elevated to the heavenly planets by such activities, and sometimes he again descends to earth. This is described by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu as brahmanda bhramite

- The activities of the conditioned souls under the influence of material nature are explained here (in SB 3.31.15). Every conditioned soul is engaged in different types of work under the influence of material nature
- The body is made of senses. The conditioned soul wants to enjoy sense gratification, and, according to his capacity to enjoy sense gratification, he is offered a body, or field of activity. BG 1972 purports

- When a conditioned soul gives relief to others he acts piously, and when he gives trouble to others he acts impiously, but the Lord is neither pious nor impious
- When he (the conditioned soul) is actually in perfect knowledge, he knows that the Lord is the supreme worshipful object & that the living entity is His eternal servant. Without this knowledge, he engages in material activities; that is called ignorance
- When he (the conditioned spirit soul) is punished for his abominable activities, he is thrown into hellish planets where he suffers the miseries of material existence more acutely
- When he (the conditioned spirit soul) is rewarded for his righteous activities, he is elevated to the higher planets where he becomes one of the many demigods
- When the conditioned soul accepts the shelter of the creeper of fruitive activity, he may be elevated by his pious activities to higher planetary systems and thus gain liberation from hellish conditions, but unfortunately he cannot remain there
- When the mind is in the mode of passion, his (the conditioned soul's) activities are troublesome; and when the mind is in the mode of ignorance, he travels in the lower species of life. BG 1972 purports
